Yoga 910 HDMI and VGA Dongles USB Type-C - Urgent Help Needed.

Q: Yoga 910 HDMI and VGA Dongles USB Type-C - Urgent Help Needed.

Hi,I'm a new Yoga 910 owner and I have to say I'm loving it so far, but I'm a speaker an trainer and I need to connect it to external dislays and projectors.I have tried several dongles and I cannot find one that works. I'm trying to find USB-C dongle that let me connect to an external HDMI and VGA Monitor or Projector. Are there any other brands of adapters that are known working for HDMI 2.0 and regular VGA? Thank you.

Preferred Solution: Yoga 910 HDMI and VGA Dongles USB Type-C - Urgent Help Needed.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm trying to find USB-C dongles that let me connect to an external 4K HDMI monitor and via VGA. I got the Club3D USB to HDMI 2.0 dongle which reviews on Amazon said works work the Yoga 900. However, on my 910 it does NOT function. Are there any other brands of adapters that are known working for HDMI 2.0 and regular VGA?

If you mean HDMI, I realized I hadn't ever checked if the sound works.  Just plugged it into my Samsung TV.  Got a movie playing now and sound works fine.
This is the adapter I'm using.  There are others but this one is working for me.

I fought this problem all day and I think I have it narrowed down. System is Lenovo Yoga 900 i7 with Windows 10 with all latest updates. Application is Citrix Receiver 4.5. When using Quickbooks with the Citrix Receiver, mouse clicks are disabled/not recognized.  All keyboard inputs still work, the mouse arrow tracks correctly, but mouse clicks seem to be ignored.  This behavior occurs when booting to dual monitor setup with HDMI adapter in the USB Type-C port; booting to single monitor (Yoga), then plugging the HDMIR adapter in the USB Type-C port.  The only resolution is to boot to single monitor (Yoga) and work in single monitor mode exclusively.  I am using the USB Type-C to HDMI adaptor purchased from Lenovo.  This occurs with the Yoga trackpad AND occurs with my USB wireless mouse. Also note with native Windows applications, the mouse works fine with both  monitors connected and active. I really bought the HDMI adaptor to use two monitor with the Citrix Receiver.  I have tried to Google this problem, but I'm unable to find a Citrix Receiver support site/forum that would be appropriate for this question. Any advice appreciated.

Having an issue with my X1 Yoga  riinning Win10 64-bit and all firmware & drivers are up to date. I often plug in an HDMI screen to my machine and when I do and step away for a few mins the screen goes blank to save power etc. When I return and click these or hit a key the backlight on the laptop comes back on but no image is displayed on either the laptop nor the HDMI monitor. If I unplug the HDMI cable then the laptop screen comes back perfectly and then I can plug the HDMI back in and get the image back on my larger monitor. This seems much different issue then the "blank screen" I read up on and appears to be a detecing from sleep state issue in the driver etc. Anyone else have this? Any fixes for this as I'm plugging the HDMI in/out/in 5 times a day or more... This never occured in the past so appears to be an update issue.

Hi all, I got today Lenovo S510 model: 10KW005NAX I want to get a cable or adapter to connect Displayport to HDMI 1080p LCD I have from before There seem to be passive and active converters, what I understood from online is that if I have DP++ PC I can get a passive converter or else I need an active converter. I don't know if cables can be active and passive too?For example: Amazon linkSo the description says source can be DP or DP++, so it has a chip inside it? so it's active? So... can anyone tell me what is my displayport type (Lenovo S510) ? and maybe shed some light on what I need to get clear picture to HDMI in? Appreciate your help

I purchased an external monitor on Friday.  It worked on Friday and Saturday. Sunday when I booted up, the external monitor no longer worked. The history appears to show an automatic update occurred overnight.  I was running Windows 8.1.  I upgraded to 10.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the intel video driver, I reinstalled the chipset driver.  I have trimmed the micro HDMI cord as suggested in one of the posts.  I have seen enough posts on the various boards to know my issue does not seem to be an isolated case... but I haven't been able to find an explanation of the cause or a reliable solution.  Any help is appreciated.

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... I have an XPS 12 9250 with an external Dell Adapter USB Type C to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB 470-ABQN.  This adapter is working for Ethernet and VGA, but the USB port is not working.  I suspect that I need the correct drivers installed.  When I plug in my windows phone or my android phone, both devices show that they are charging, but windows 10 does not indicate that it sees the devices.  If I plug in an external keyboard to the adapter's USB port, windows 10 does not react, and the keyboard lights do not come on (keyboard works fine on 2 other computers).
So, I'm pretty sure I've installed all the latest drivers that are listed on support.dell.com for the xps 12 9250, but it's hard to tell as there seem to be scores of them.
Is anyone else having this problem?  Can anyone tell me which specific drivers I need to get USB working?  Thank you

Bought a USB C to HDMI adapter. Works on three different monitors with both a (7th gen) Razer Blade Stealth and a Yoga 900 Signature Edition but not a brand new Yoga 910 (with UHD panel.) Using the same cable for all; it's HDMI 2.0 just in case. All drivers, BIOS, firmware is up to date on the 910. Validated basic USB functionality on the 910 port with a USB C to A adapter (i.e. USB headphones work just fine.)  Tried both the Lenovo graphics drivers and the most up to date generic Intel graphics drivers; (neither work so I reverted back to Lenovo drivers.) I'd like to get 4k working eventually but right now not even 1080p output to external is working. Tried all display scaling options. In the Intel HD Graphics control panel, the device does seem to recognize the model of the external monitor, but it's not outputting anything (i.e. when I switch to clone or extended desktop, it immediately sets itself back to single display mode.) Any ideas? Thank you!

So right now I have a Trojan. I am trying to get rid of it. Earlier I went into the WTM, and looked at my processes that I had running. What I am doing is going through all of the processes and looking up what they are, what they do, and if they could be a potential danger to my computer. I came across a program called SVCHOST.exe. I typed it in at the UniBlue process library, andI got mixed results. Apparently, SVCHOST is a essential program that is harmless, But, it seems that alot of Trojans and harmful things alike disguise themselves as SVCHOST. I currently have 8 different svchost.exe's running, with mem usage ranging from 3,000 kb, to 28,000. Do you think that I have a problem?

I tried to download something earlier (not porn, promise) but immediately after i pressed download, it redirected me to a porn site. I did what it recommended me to do ( being that i was unfamiliar with avast), and I moved them to the chest, but some of them werent able to go to the chest, i am not sure that one of them was the trojan though, but I am nearly certain because after I put the bad stuff in the chest, I chose to delete them, but, after I deleted them, I still have the Trojan. What the trojan is doing is when I try to get on IE, it says Blank page and tells me to download a fake antivirus. Obviously, I did not. Also, when I try to ... Read more

Okay well it looks like my brief happiness was short lived. Once again my PC is acting up in a severe way that only PCHF can fix. I just now uninstalled my Catalyst Control Manager, chose the all AMD products option & restarted my computer. It didn't work, the display loaded as if AMD Radeon HD 6450 driver is still installed. I then tried un-installing it via Device Manager & was greeted with "driver updates have finished installing". Even though I selected uninstall & have the option for Windows to install Driver updates checked off. Please I need urgent help to completely uninstall my GPU drivers & enable my Motherboards default on-board graphics to run alone! That way I can manually install up-to-date drivers from the AMD site.

*EDIT: I then tried disabling my AMD Radeon HD 6450 Driver via Device Manager then un-installing it from there. This appears to have worked although I'm not sure. It says Standard VGA Graphics Adapter is working although I'm still paranoid that some of AMD's was left behind due to those first initial failures. So even if this install works, I'll still be looking to perform a total clean install of them again.

Insert system disk in drive.

Ok, after having to turn off the computer improperly, I got the error message about the Windows\System32\Config\System file missing or corrupt.
Apparently this happens quite commonly and isn't that hard to fix.

So I put in the xp disk, attempting to use the repair feature.
No repair feature was there, I must have an OEM version or something, but I could use the recovery console.

to runn the repair install
boot from the xp cd and choose install
ignore the first repair option and continue with install
when windows finds the previous installation
then do the repair
if you have upgraded to sp2 it will not offer the repair option and you will have to make a slipstreamed disk to run the repair option with
did you run
chkdsk or chkdsk /r /f
as the password
