I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

??It happens more often these days. Like at least one per day while I'm using. Here's a minidump filehttps://1drv.ms/u/s!An8x_yp4NHqthhbLfZf9O8EQHErV

I bought this laptop 3 weeks ago. it's an intel i5 M520 with 4GB ram, 500gb hdd, ati radeon graphics, windows 7 64bit.

It crashed 3 times so far, and everytime after an hour of using the laptop only in battery while using the integrated video card. I didnt try with ATI card to run on battery. But I always use ATI when I am using an external monitor while it is plugged and it never crashed then. It did not crash when i was switching the graphics card.

I had to push down the power button to shut down as nothing was responding.
Havent installed anything complicated other than phpeditor and ftp filezilla, mozilla, chrome.

NOte that i reinstalled Windows to factory settings again using OneKey Recovery.
And to my disappointment it happened again and Today instead of being frozen it went to blue screen and restarted auto. Here is what the windows problem solver showed. What should I do? Take it to a service center, i have warranty. Thanks a lot in advance for your help. I also attached the .dmp and .xml file in .zip format.

Hi and welcome Abu
This is pretty straight foward, your BSOD was caused by your intel wifi driver, please download and install fresh copy of it

Driver Removal and Reinstallation:
Please do the following:
- download a fresh copy of the latest Windows 7 version of the program for this driver from the Intel website (NOT from Windows Update or from the Update driver function in Device Manager). If there are no Windows 7 drivers, post back for further instructions on installing Vista drivers using Compatibility mode.
- uninstall the current version from your system
- install the freshly downloaded version
- check to see if you have any further BSOD's

Hi. I have a problem with my newly bought Lenovo Ideapad 320. I recently bought the laptop around 1 week ago. It is a great laptop with good specifications. Though I have noticed some rather dissapointing dents and other problems on the body of the laptop. Below are the pictures of the dents and some other problems too.   As you can see in the picture, the touchpad is dented in a circular form.   Some of the keyboard keys seem to be at faulty because. The height of the keyboard keys are not even. It looks like someone has violated the keys playing games or what not.   The metal near the touchpad seems to be bending upward. These are the dents I mentioned above. I have tried reaching out to Lenovo Support by filling up the form online. Though it has come to a dead end since I have not received any reply. I hope the Lenovo moderator itself can help me through this problem. I paid a lot of money for this laptop and I was hoping for none other than a perfect condition for the laptop itself. It was rather dissapointing to face this problem. Here's hoping that this will be covered by my warranty. I'm hoping help from other users from Lenovo community too. Thanks.

I bought the Ideapad 700 15ISK (Sr. No: R90JUYXF) on 25th of JUN 2016 (4299 AED) from Dubai UAE instead of DELL, HP and other brands, that was latest machine with high specification. After 2 week usage I faced that igdkmd64.sys error, so I installed graphic driver according to the Lenovo forum solved solution but nothing happened. Then, I 1st time claimed warranty. Still error happened even bios, drivers, window everything newly installed. Then 2nd time I claimed warranty, nothing will changed error still on his place, installed, reinstalled graphic driver my own self and even from service centre.I am having a strong desire to kiss the intoxicated Lenovo enginners who design this ideapad.Lenovo IDEAPAD 700 15ISK cheapest product with genie company defective model which didn't support the Intel graphic driver, how irresponsible Lenovo Company?s engineers are? Even you can?t run laptop for normal usage, window crash again and again like virus. One important thing, if you reinstalled old graphic driver, then 7 salute to Microsoft Window 10 blunder, we can?t stop window 10 to update the graphic driver, window automaticity update the driver and error happened like a virus. Wastage of time and money, I never again buy this Lenovo cheap quality product or never recommend to any of my friend to buy the Lenovo products. Lenovo comapny waste my entire year to claiming warrantyof this defective model cheap Idea pad with high cost.

My laptop has started to have blue screen errors in the last weeks/months.This is happening more and more frequently (1-2 times per week). This happens while working normally (maybe with music streaming on Chrome with Pandora or Spotify?). In addition to this from time to time (once every 1-2 months) it completely crushes / freezes and I can only turn it off with the power button. It's is worth mentioning that I like to keep the computer on with many programs running, many PDF/word files open, and many chrome tabs open, and to restart it only every few weeks. I have already tried to update all the drivers and windows (Windows 10 Education, version 1709, build 16299.371), also using the Lenovo tool to update the system but it looks like it is not enough. Could it be the old BIOS. I am still running CDCN25WW. Is it worth trying to update to CDCN54WW? I wouldn't like to cause more damage... Thanks!

Good afternoon all.  I'm hoping someone here can help me with this.  I bought this Lenovo ideapad 320-15ABR at Thanksgiving and received it at the beginning of December.  I bought it mainly so that I could use Photoshop, Microsoft Office and to watch TV/movies online.  The only things I've installed on this computer since receiving it was the Photoshop 2018 and Avast Antivirus.  I disabled the Windows Defender antivirus and I couldn't find McCaffee anywhere on my computer.  Anyway, I've used this computer to watch movies a few times now for the last several weekends and at least once during a movie (either through Netflix or Amazon Prime) I will get an error message that reads something along the lines of:  "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart."  Basically the blue screen of death.  It's incredibly frustrating because I've been happy with Lenovo products in the past.  I'm also not a huge fan of Windows 10 and while I don't blame Lenovo for the changes Microsoft keeps making, these new changes coupled with the constant blue screens of death on a brand spanking new computer have made me a very unhappy customer.  Because of the changes with Windows, I'm not familiar at all with how to troubleshoot this problem (or even where to start) to see if there is something wrong with my laptop hardware or if it's a driver error.  If I can I'd like to try to understand how to find out what... Hey everyone! Another black screen issue on my laptop. I've tried:-1. Holding the power key for 30 seconds when the charger was connected as well as disconnected.2. Removing the battery and holding power key for 30 seconds when the charger was connected as well as disconnected.3. Holding shift +f8 before pressing and releasing the power button from the turned off state.  4. Spamming f2 key while holding fn after pressing the power button to start the laptop. None of these work. I couldn't locate the CMOS battery on this so I couldn't disconnect that. Upon starting I don't even see the Lenovo logo. Thank you for reading so far. We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

It is almost impossible to spot trends from a single DMP file so if you have more than one please upload them. If you only have one please wait until the computer crashes again then upload both.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small m... Read more

I get a blue screen after several hours when I plug in mic or speaker.

A:Hardware problem Blue screen.

I noticed that you don't have Secure Boot and/or UEFI enabled. If you were having problems with it and changed it, please let us know.

It's not necessary to enable it now. But, should you reinstall Windows at some point in the future, please enable it first.

I mention this because it may happen that (one day) the system won't boot. This can be caused by a program changing your UEFI settings, or an update of the UEFI resetting it to default values.

To test and see if this is the cause, boot into the UEFI and see if the settings have been changed. If uncertain, try with Secure Boot both on and off (and the UEFI on UEFI or Legacy (CSM))

If it still doesn't boot after trying this, then move on to other troubleshooting tools as it's not likely to be due to this.

I have seen problems with the Killer Network Manager - but mostly on MSI systems. Also, see the NOTE within the quotes as an update may have fixed this problem.

At times the Killer Network Manager may cause BSOD prolems:
NOTE: See this link first: BSOD while playing on msi gt70 dragon edition 2 (thanks to kaelaan) It appears that the Killer Service problem was solved with the latest release of the Qualcomm versions of the drivers (so try updating to a version dated from later in 2014).

The Qualcomm Atheros Killer Service/KillerNetManager is known to cause BSOD's. Please follow the workaround instructions here:

I recieve a blue screen (saying physical memory dump).
I think that it's a hardware problem, cause i change my memory (i thought that it's maybe bad memory) but same problem.
All the dump messages are different but in all of them there is "NT Kernel System".
With xp i don't have any problem, so i am thinking that it's a motherboard problem. My motherboard is abit Ip35 pro and i can't find any driver for windows 7 32bit for this motherboard.
But is really a hardware problem? I attach the 2 last dump files.

I've been having a lot of problems with my computer of late. It must be around 5 years old now, but at the start of this year I replaced the motherboard, RAM and CPU to the following:

MSI MS-6712
2 modules of PC2700 256MB RAM
AMD Athlon XP 2400+

I also upgraded to Windows XP. Unfortunately I would get a lot of BSOD error messages containing messages like IRQL_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED AREA etc... Sometimes the computer would crash while booting up, sometimes when I clicked on something, sometimes on its own.

I figured it was just XP causing problems so I recently did a complete reinstall. Unfortunately, the problems are still occuring. Today, my computer would not start properly and so I ended up resetting it a few times until it did. I was getting:

-BSODs quoting 'Fatal System Error'
-The computer would freeze on the "Windows Starting Up..." screen
-Windows would boot to the log in screen despite the fact that it never usually does
-An error was quoted with something to do about 'ordinal 4' in winsock

I have also been experiencing the same old IRQL_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED AREA blue screen errors, and yesterday while trying to defragment my drive I received a BSOD quoting a stop error with ntfs.sys

Now, as this has happened with 2 different installations of windows i can only conclude that it is a hardware problem. So does anyone have any idea what it could be?

This is really annoying me now,... Read more

Hi all, I've had this laptop two mobnths. On opening it one morning, two pins fell out of the hinge connecting the monitor to the keyboard. A further two fell out from the other side shorty afterwards. The monitor is now separating from the keyboard, almost totally on the left hand side. The pressure of whatever is going on is causing the screen casing to separate from the screen also. The screen can no longer stay upright, nor can it be closed. The hinge is completely broken.  I've made several attempts to contact lonovo to ask for help. the first by telephone. I was told I needed to register with the support department (as well as being registered as a lenovo customer) in order to receive support. The technician said she would send me an email of questions that I would need to answer in order to register before she could help me - that email never arrived. I have submitted multiple requests through the support sections of the website but no confimation that they have gone through - the screen just refreshes as if nothing has happened, and when I check the system has no record of my problem. In addition when I try to use the lenovo website to find approved technicians/ repair shops near me, the uk doesnt show as an option in the drop down menu, and When i try to use the location services they don't work. (nothing happens). This is my work laptop - I can't work without it, so I need a fix or replacment urgently. I am currently really very frustrated and unimpres... Read more

It has been almost 6 months since I bought this laptop, and it gave awesome experience, such a beautiful, powerful laptop both for work and gaming. I enjoyed alot until recently, two days ago I was just using my laptop and suddenly screen started to show these horrible green, grey, black and purple lines, multicolored and the screen stuck. I had never encountered a problem like this. First i tried to shut it down, by main power button. When I started the laptop again, lines showed up again and screen stuck. I was greatly shocked because I just bought it recently and didn't expected such problems.I figured it out that if I exert a little pressure on the screen it would work, the lines will disappear and the it will become normal but then the moment i took my finger off, it returned to it state. After doing a little diagnosis i found that if i put my screen in a certain angle it would become normal. I can use it but only after pushing the screen to a certain angle and it is not comfortable at all.  Sorry for awful lengthy post but i will be grateful for any help. Thanks. Here is a pic.

Try running memtest (burn it to disk and allow it to run at bootup; may need to change your BIOS settings to boot from CD/DVD rom). The error you are getting (BC Code 7f) could spell faulty or failing RAM....so give this test a try and see if you get any errors after running a few passes.

Hello, My laptop configuration:OS: Windows 10 64 bits (up-to-date)Model : Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK (80NV)BIOS : CDCN37WW Five days ago the keyboard suddenly stopped to respond (nb : the Num Lock led remained on). I tried to restart Windows but since it could not (stucked on the reboot screen) I pressed the power button and heard a "clack" sound. When I restarted the computer the hard drive made some noices and the fans started to turn at high speed for ~3 seconds.NB : I upgraded to bios CDCN35WW few days before. After the incident I updated to CDCN37WW.  Today the problem happened again (keyboard not responding). Before trying to reboot I unpluged and pluged back my mouse (Lenovo gaming mouse). As I expected, it did not function once I pluged it back. I tried to log out before rebooting. At that time Windows crashed and I saw the BSOD for 1 second before the computer shut down and reboot showing the Novo Button Menu (the keyboard was still not responding at this time).I rebooted by pressing the power button, once again some worrysome electrical noices while I was doing so.The computer restarted and once again noices from the hard drive + fans at full speed. Any suggestion ? Are BIOS updates bugged ?Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure if we're allowed to cross-post, but I think my problem posted in the Operating Systems > Windows 95/98/Me forum may actually be a hardware problem. If you respond, please reply to the post at -

My post at Operating Systems > Windows 95/98/Me is as follows:

Hi. I wish I could figure this out. I have Win98SE and it seems that I get an exception error blue screen every hour or so, automatically shutting down programs. This would shut down Outlook, IE, and others, and drastically decrease the PC performance. This exception error also comes up frequently during cold boots.

I have up-to-date definitions for my Norton Antivirus, Adware/spyware scanners (the free version of Ad-Aware is run weekly and the freebie Disspy is done daily), MS Windows "patches" (but see below), and Zonealarm firewall.

I've frequently performed ScanDisk and Diskeeper Lite defragmentation of my hard drive. Still, this exception error blue screen appears.

I had Windows Update patch KB891711 in my startup, but I removed it (unchecked it) through MSCONFIG and the blue screen fatal exception errors still come up.

I also ran "System File Checker" in the system tools to scan for altered files, and all I get is:
System File Checker has finished scanning your system files.
which I assume means there were no errors.

So everything has been working fine on my laptop until about 10:30PM EST tonight. I bought it new in August 2011.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
HD: 750 GB
It's always been a fine machine with NO problems.
However, last night there were Windows 7 updates that were installed and then restarted my computer. I had not gotten a chance to check exactly what they were though. About 10:30 this evening, flash crashed in Mozilla Firefox which is not that uncommon, and from there Firefox closed, and so did my Microsoft Word and Excel apps that were open. From there, my computer began to shut down and restart. When it went to restart, all it could do was go to the opening Lenovo screen which gives you the F2 (setup option) and F12 (multiboot menu option) as it typically does. Besides a thin strip at the top that appeared after about 30 secs that only displays moving static that eventually will just stick, that is where the boot process ends. No Windows 7 screen, and certainly no opportunity to boot into safe mode to check for any problems. The screen freezes and goes nowhere.
So basically, all I'm getting in terms of boot options are lenovo features, not windows 7 features, meaning it won't boot into windows 7 or windows 7 safe mode no matter what I try. The biggest problem here is that I have no windows 7 disc to even try to boot from my dvd drive.
Anybody have any suggestions on what the probl... Read more

I have recently purchased a blue IdeaPad 320 14KIB and it comes with a dummy optical drive. I have been looking to buy an optical drive with the correct blue bezel that will work with my laptop but haven't been able to find one anywhere. I managed to purchase the optical disc drive but have had no luck with the bezel. Please can someone help me out. I've found the following part number: 5B30N82326 (ODD Bezel L80xk Ice Blue).

Hi Jkcp,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
You can verify your ODD bezel from the parts lookup page here to confirm the part number to order if 5B30N82326 is for you.
I tried using 80XH01QYIH and may give a different option for the bezel (5B30N86319).
Lenovo encompass shows availability maybe till May 6 2018 but you can also check with Medion and other service partners too listed here (shops and parts desk).
Hope this helps answer your query.

HI!!! I have the above mentioned ntb. I noticed that the Lenovo Settings is saying that there is a problem with the Lenovo System Interface Foundation, the same goes with Lenovo Vantage, and it provided me with the possibility to update it. I downloaded the offered file, the instalation runs without a problem, I restart the computer but the problem with the LSIF was still there. I uninstaled Lenovo Settings and Vantage, and now I am not able to install it again. When I want to get Lenovo Vantage from the store, I am receiving and error message, that it can´t be installed, error code: 0x80073CFB. Thx for an advice how to deal with this. Ondrej

My kid has been using this laptop and loved it, but mentioned a while ago it was difficult to power it back on after turnned it off. However she managed to work around by putting it in hibernate/sleeping mode only, or recycling the system many times (by holding on power button to force it off). The issue was black screen (no Lenovo logo) but computer was on. I didn't pay much attention because she can still make it work, and I was too busy. Last week, there was a windows update (again) and the computer was forced recycle. It never comes back alive again. The same, computer is humming, but no any visual output on screen, just black. Tried novo button, bootable USB, external monitor, all no use. Check the warranty, just over by 2 months! Asked the service store, to fix will cost at least $200-$300 to replace the motherboard! It does not make sense when spent a bit more could buy a new notebook. But my kid liked it and it does not make sense to throw it away either, when it still looks pretty new and only being used very lightly (schoolwork only). It is sad, especially the brand has been gainning my trust. I probably don't expect a "good" solution either from Lenovo or community, but just throw my frustration here (only because have just registered the account and there is no support email or web form). If Lenovo want to make customer happy, the part shouldn't be so expensive for a short-lived laptop! Just by the way, there are many posts about Ideapad's black screen i... Read more

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
Sorry to hear of all the problems.  Here are a couple of things to try........
First, try a reset of the BIOS.  The procedure can be useful in resolving some hardware conflicts which your computer may have.  Just do this......
1. Unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 3. Plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.
If you are comfortable working inside your laptop. try this........
Try the reset again with the battery removed.
If the reset didn't resolve the problem then you may have a failed piece of hardware preventing the bootup. Remove the battery, hard drive, optical drive, memory, wireless card and bluetooth if it is installed. Now try to power up the stripped laptop. With all the hardware removed you should have lights come on and it may possibly beep since there is no memory installed. If the laptop is showing signs of life start adding hardware one piece at a time starting with a memory module and boot up the laptop. If it doesn't power up try the memory in the other slot. Also try the other memory module separately in both slots if two are available. If it is still showing signs of life add another piece and boot. Do this for each item until it doesn't power up again. The last piece of hardware installed is your problem part.

Hi, my Y520 has been acting weird today. First, I turn it on and it freezes and blue screens. It's done this before. It's restarted and it said something about booting. I can't remember exactly what the screen was but if it does it again, I'll post the message. But I fixed it by restarting it and it acted normal. So, I did the same thing this time. It acted fine when restarting, so I went about playing some games. In the middle of my match, the game froze and I got a blue screen. So, I restarted and it acted fine. I seen if I needed an update to anything. I'm up to date. I ran a hardware scan and it failed. The usb test failed. Which I thought would come sooner, seeing as how I haven't been able to use two of my usb ports a little after I got it. So I'm not to surprised about that. But what scares me is the blue screens I've been getting. Hopefully nothing is dying inside the laptop. Any help? This is the code it's showing on the test: WMB008008-UN7DUG.

I have bought my ideapad just few months ago and it already started driving me nuts. Initially ten days back I noticed that when I used mousepad to pause something on Youtube or any video channel it flickered for like a second and I ignored thinking may be mouse pad is loose or something like that. But now it starts flickering suddenly and does a lot so that you have no option other than restart. It feels like may be some update was pending but then again after an hour or so it is doing the same. I installed lenovo system update app and tried to install drivers or update them. There are some optional installs which I am not sure if I must do. I found one answer for Yoga flicker and that had to do with the installs but I am not sure which ones I need to update for ideapad 520. If someone has solved this please let me know. It is very frustrating. Thanks a lot!
