I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm having the same issue with the overheating. What are you temperatures reaching? I am getting around 50 idle and in the 60s celsius browsing the web. It's very irritating and I'm not sure if it's possible to do anything to fix it. I've sent my laptop in once already and there weren't any results... EDIT: I got my laptop down to 43C with using google chrome. Just remove all of the software the lenovo had installed that's running in the background if you don't use it.

Hello, it's not a big issue but the bottom plate of the laptop is around 1mm off. And I've no idea who to contact, and I hate talking on the phone... And the retailer I've ordered the machine only has service on the phone or facebook, but it's been two days now so still waiting for an answer on facebook. Wondering if I could go to their store or not, or what to do. Since I've ordered online it's coming from their main storehouse, and not from their stores around... Like it's nothing groundbreaking, just annoying to feel the bottom on one side... Thanks for reading and any tips! ^^,

Hi, there. I've bought a UHD Yoga 920 about a month ago. A couple of weeks ago I had a very bad problem with its battery life, 2 hours and dead. But it seems it was a Windows problem, because after some updates, the battery life got better. Still, I let it looping a 40 minutes video and from 100% battery, it died in 6:30 hours (battery saver on and WiFi on). I feel it is not ok. What do you think? Core Temp also shows me 55-60 degrees celsius (130-140 F) and I only have a browser opened, with just some forum tabs, so no video playback, nothing.

Hi everyone,I want to ask yoga 910 owners what is their average CPU temperature? As for me, my laptop is very hot guy, when I do nothing - like now while writing this text with 10 open tabs and almost nothing in background, CPU has t=55C, with  10-15 CPU load. But in my daily work I open Word, Excel, some specific programs, 20+ tabs in firefox and sometimes listenning to music. In this situation CPU load doesn't very high - 40%-50% in general, but temperature rises to 60-70C and could be 90+ in peak. Is it normal? My previous Asus wasn't so hot.PS. I have i7 version with FHD monitor, latest bios in "balance mode" and "better perfomance" in Windows power mode.

I've had the Yoga 13 (1st generation) for a little more than a year now and the bottom cover of the laptop (with the 10 screws and the manufacturers stickers) has cracked right next to the hinge. The screw had fallen out and over time it eventually cracked. I replaced the screw so it's in place now, but I would like to replace the bottom panel. How would I go about removing it and replacing it? It seems to be attached to something and I don't want to just pry it open and break something. It's off warranty now too.  Thanks!

I purchased this notebook used. While in normal work, like browsing the web, watching youtube videos, listening to music temperature of the CPU hits maximum of 85 C while the CPU is on its full frequency. It's usually in 65-75 C range, because frequency of the CPU changes frequently. Most of the time CPU frequency stays at 792 MHz.Is this the reason to worry about, should I change its thermal paste and maybe blow out the dust if there is any?I am not planing to use this notebook at it's 100 % CPU load.I ran Prime95 but temperature hit 100 C limit in a second, then CPU throttled and it stayed around 95 C then I stopped Prime95.

Hi all,I recently bought the lenovo 710 14ikb, the i7 version. Overall very pleased with the look, feel and performance of the laptop.  As many i did notice the excessive cooling and noise coming from the fan, in both idle state and when performing simple tasks such as photo viewing or opening multiple windows. I tried updating the BIOS, didn't help( and can't find the advanced bios settings activation). I installed NBFS and this does help by manually controlling the fan speed not to go in full activity at the low BIOS set temperatures (at approx 50 degrees celsius). Now that I have installed the fans, I keep an active eye on the cpu temperature through the monitoring icon provided by the NBFS tool and am concerned about the temp fluctuations.  When starting the laptop, it boots ( plugged) at 35 degrees, shooting up to 60 degrees when activating all apps etc, then drops to an idle between 38 and 45 degrees. However any activity that requires a heavier load ( opening photoviewer/instagram) and multiple windows creates these spikes of temperatures rising up to 62 - 72 degrees celsius after which they come back down again.  What's your experience with the cpu temp spikes with the 710? Are more users experiencing these temp spikes? I know it's relatively oke up to 100 degrees, and I am going to stress test the cpu, but it feels rather unstable.

A:lenovo yoga 710 cpu temperature concerns

it Update: Installed the second BIOS update that was mentioned on the forum. Now with NBFC on read only status the fan indeed is not as active, so it appears Lenovo has adjusted the fan control on the temperatures.  However, with the laptop in high performance mode , i opened Opera browser with youtube and three other windows and the temperatures are increasing to 75-83 degrees celsius.  I believe we should be able to use the laptop at optimum settings without experiencing these unhealthy cpu temps. Could it simply be subpar quality of the fans used, the kaby lake cpu quality or is this a defect?

I got my first Lenovo Yoga 710 around 1.5 weeks ago, and noticed something immediately when I opened it up. The metal "case" or laptop bottom was uneven. The bottom right side of the laptop is sorta bend from factory, the rubber part does not even touch the table when I put the laptop down. It isnt much, maybe a few millimeters, but whenever I use the laptop I hear and feel it rocking back and fort and making a clicking sound against the table. I really didnt expect this from such an expensive laptop.  So, I contacted the store I got it from, and they ordered a new one from me. And guess what, the new unit is JUST the same. I looked at their display model and it sat flush with the table, rock solid. Did they just ship a bad batch of laptops with uneven surfaces, seeing that both the laptops I got is uneven?  To be spesific, its the Yoga 710 14"ISK (I think). Anyone else experienced this themself, or know what I should do?

Hi there! I've had my Yoga for about 2 years now, and recently updated it when Lenovo Settings prompted me to download Lenovo Vantage instead (probably about.... two weeks ago or so?).  Since I downloaded Vantage, though, the color temperature of my screen keeps changing. Sometimes it has more of a blue tone, and other times it goes ridiculously yellow. It's not happening in response to changes in lighting (it's happened three times as I write this post, and I've been sitting on my couch with my blinds closed the entire time), and I've made sure dynamic brightness control as well as eye care mode are turned off. Even with both turned off, my screen keeps changing color, and it's only happened after installing Vantage--none of my other programs would be doing this, and hadn't been affecting things until the installation. Any thoughts?

I'll attach a pic, but it is hard to see. Just today, I heard a pop as I opened my Yoga. Seems the the bottom left hand corner of the screen has separated from its "backing" (not exactly sure how to describe this.) I did see a report of something that was vaguely familiar with a different machine and someone mentioned it could be a bad hinge. I can flex it all the way back to tablet mode. The screen flexes up the entire way (so I'm not doing that again). When I bend the opposite direction (toward closed) the aluminum casing separates from the small plastic tab with the rubber foot. I'm happy to attempt to purchase a hinge and change it, but if anyone can give a relatively definitive answer either way, that would be great. Oh, and, my warranty ended 42 days ago. So there's that. Also, where would I source this?  Thanks in advance, krm

I recently noticed a strange whiring noise directly related to fan speed, so seeing as the laptop was out of warranty (long story, but not really relevant) I opened her up and noticed the sticker on the fan was applied slightly offset and had bent inwards to lightly touch the cooling fan's blades. Repositioned the sticker cured the noise. Nice and simple.Upon re-assembly I noticed a broken clip belonging to the bottom cover. I've attached an image which highlights them, but they're screwed on to the cover plate, as opposed to being part of the moulding.Does anybody happen to know if these clips can be obtained seperately, if so, could you please let me know the part number? I've checked the parts website and it seems to only suggest an entire cover is available. For Lenovo to to have gone to the trouble of making the clips screw to the cover, it would seem that these are sacrificial sub-parts, it's a shame to spend almost 100 to get a rear cover, all for the sake of one replacement clip.Any help, gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

I've been having problems periodically with ghost touches but only in the bottom right of my screen. Sometimes I can continue to use the touch screen and pad, other times it's just stuck. Sorry if this is a repeat, I haven't found any solutions for my model.

Hello,
Can anyone confirm by how many degrees the room temperature would increase in an office if there were to be an increased number of PC's and Monitors?
I am assuming that this will be dependant on the size of the office, the temperature of the computers and the number of staff in the office.
Does an equation exist to work out the increase in temperature?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I have this problem with my Yoga 15; the windows screen keeps popping up (you know the screen that comes when you push a windows bottom). I already checked many things and updated all drivers to newest versions. I even purchased a new keyboard because my computer repair store told me that was the problem. Well it was not the problem. The screens still keeps popping up, making the device complete useless. I tried disabeling the touchscreen but also that did not help. Now I have the idea the problems is the windows key at the bottom of the screen (also because it sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't). But which driver controls this button (it is not the touchscreen driver)? Any other suggestions are welcome!  Thanks,Gijs

I am getting pop ups at the bottom, bottom right and left side of my screen.  They just seem to pop up randomly and frequently.  Highly annoying.

A:Pop ups at bottom and bottom right of screen

Most likely these popups are the result of recently installed updates,  free program(s) or add-on(s) in either browsers or programs such as Skype.

Using Firefox or Google Chrome browsers with Adblock Plus add-on may block the ads.

The two programs linked below have success in finding and removing adware. Allow them to remove whatever they find.

You should check your add-ons/ extensions in your browser(s) for unknown ones or that you have not intentionally installed.
Disable or attempt to uninstall them.

If the above doesn't solve your problem, post a new topic in the Am I Infected.........forum along with the scan results of the two programs.

So which one shall I look out for?

My Yoga 12 keyboard was ruined due to spill and now won't work at all. But I need to press ESC, and I cannot... I need to access BIOS as the laptop is asking for a correct date due to complete disassembly and removal of CMOS battery. An external USB keyboard doesn't work during bootup... BIOS version is 1.24. If I hold F1 on the built-in keyboard prior to powering up, the system enters BIOS. After that, no response. The keys are stuck. I even tried hot-removing the keyboard cable from the motherboard when having entered BIOS and then plugging in a USB keyboard. Tried both USB ports to no avail ./ I just need to be able to press ESC to bypass the date check -- the laptop works otherwise. I'll buy a new built-in keyboard, but would love to hear alternative solutions in the meanwhile. Is Fast Boot affecting USB keyboard combatibility? Any secret key combos I could use to reset the BIOS? Would plugging the laptop into a dock help (connecting a USB keyboard onto the dock)? PS: Why on earth won't external keyboards work during bootup on this laptop?? .(

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... On the surface, both the Yoga 910 and Yoga 920 look nearly identical, but in my testing, I prefer one over the other. Let's dig deeper to see the differences between the two!To get this out of the way, both machines have 1TB PCIe storage, 16GB memory, and the Yoga 910 has the 7th gen i7-7550U processor, and the Yoga 920 has the 8th gen i7-8550U processor.

Hardware & Design
Both the Yoga 910 and Yoga 920 are built out of aluminum, which gives them a high quality feel to them.  Both laptops have the keyboard integrated into the chassis, which means less keyboard flex. One thing that I find better in the Yoga 920 is the fact that it's all smooth edges around.  The Yoga 910 has pretty sharp edges which means you could scratch your surface or yourself.  The sharp edges of the Yoga 910 was a common complaint, and I'm glad they rectified it.
