Preferred Solution: graphics drivers for a video card

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 i3-3227U 1.90 GHz Win 8 64bit, with Video Cards as recognized:
a. Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000, and
b. AMD Radeon HD 7670M
Driver Version 8.982.6.0, 8-1-2012.
Suddenly, yesterday both cards indicate problem in Device Manager. Catalyst Control Center doesn't work at all, and Intel Graphic Control Center has disappeared. Video Cards are recognized in system info through Dell Support Assist, but I can't run tests on them (the button disappeared) as I used before.I ran system scan through Dell Support Assist (both default and stress) but showed no problem.
Through Dell Support (according to laptop's service tag) I downloaded and installed both recommended graphic drivers for my laptop (AMD Radeon HD 7670M version 8.982.6.0 ,A01, and AMD Radeon HD 8730M version 9.0.12.1 ,A03) with no result. I also found and installed the proper graphic drivers from AMD and Intel for my laptop (based on my video cards, cpu and OS) but no result also. Laptop warranty has expired.
Any suggestions to solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

A:Problem with Graphics and Video Card Drivers in Dell Inspiron 3521

You should not install Intel or AMD's drivers since the Dell drivers are customized for your exact model. Reinstall the original Dell drivers from Dell Downloads and Drivers. Run the Dell Diagnostics by tapping F12 as soon as you reboot to get to the Boot Menu. See if there is a problem with the hardware. The catalyst control center is for desktop computers with discrete cards. It is not a driver- it's software. Your AMD card is not a discrete card. It is a supplemental card that kicks in when more power is needed.
Dell drivers here-- use the scanner to check your computer--
www.dell.com/.../advanced
Laptops rarely--if ever--need driver updates like desktops. If there is an update it must come from Dell.

I recently received a BS error from my graphics card. After uninstalling it and using the most up to date AMD Graphics Drivers to reinstall my graphics card in hopes that it fixed the issue, it cause the BS to come back. I then Uninstalled the graphics card again and now I am stuck.

I have no idea what I am doing but my goal is to get my graphics card working on my computer properly again. If anyone can help, it will be very much appreciated.

I recently got a bare bones system that I have put together. When I turn on the computer though, there is no video at all. The fans and lights and harddrives and the LCD on the front of the case all come on, but my moniter doesn't seem to be getting a signal of any kind. There is no sound like the beeps that would say that it is going through the boot up process. I have checked this computer out on another moniter, as well as testing the video card in another computer. Same results with the moniter and the video card works fine in the other computer. It is a Asus K8V-MX motherboard and an AMD Sempron 3100+ processor. I was extremly careful with these so there would be no electrostatic discharge. I obviously cannot change the BIOS as I can't see them, so does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks a lot. ~P~

A:no video card graphics nor online graphics

Hello! Welcome to TechSpot!

What is the ram & psu make and model?
Try clearing the cmos, per MoBo book.
First check to see that you used MoBo's stand off's correctly and
that the MoBo is not shorting out on the case.
Do a bare setup, only the essentials. Can be done with or without case.

1.cpu heatsink/fan
2.MoBo
3.1 stick of known good ram
4.video card
5. keyboard
6.monitor

Un-hook all power & data cables (except the power to MoBo)
remove all addin cards.
This is just to get you to the bios screen.
Failing this, try booting without any ram just to see if you get any error
beep codes, same with video card.

This should help getting some trouble shooting in order.
G'Luck and let us know.

Ok so I just recently got a Dell optiplex GX 755 PC that has-
*Intel core 2 quad processor 2.4 GHz

*320GB hard drive (kinda small i know, i'm looking to upgrade that as well)
I'm posting this here to see if anyone knows mainly what graphics card i could get that would make my PC gaming friendly. It doesn't have to be the most amazing stellar quality card out there since iv had (some) people tell me that you cant upgrade these PCs much. But just some good quality advice on the subject and maybe a recommendation on what card brand to get as well as the specs for it. Also a recommendation for a video card would be greatly appreciated as well. Sorry for my ignorance on on the subject, i am new to the PC world. I ended up having to get this computer in a pinch because I am a small time graphics design artist and my laptop died, and I had orders coming in. I'm not looking for a quick fix to the problem so even if anyone has a solution that may take a bit or quite a few steps to get underway, the help is still greatly welcomed! I am hoping if its at all possible to make a good situation out of this and maybe build this PC to fit my needs. Thank you to anyone who can help!

Depending on your computer as soon as you install the video card it may disable the onboard video. If you install the new card and it doesn't work then you will have to acess the BIOS and disable it from there.

Hello,
I'm going to try to give as much detail as possible but I didn't write down any of the errors unfortunately.
I had a freeze on my computer as I was switching my sound card (a pretty old sound blaster live gamer) from entertainment mode to game mode. I had to reboot as nothing else was working. When the computer came back up it was in VGA mode. I looked at system manager, showed an exclamation mark next to the video card and the sound card (although it was displaying their names). I tried uninstalling and re-installing, and nothing will do the trick. After I installed the video card drivers it gives me some kind of error, like its not identifying the card correctly, it thinks the driver is from a different version of radeon hd. I had this a while back and fixed it by reinstalling windows (which at the time I needed to to anyway, so I didn't pay much attention to it). I really would hate to have it reinstalled again as I would have to install a lot of software that I currently have on it.
Any thoughts? I didn't create a restore point, I tried restoring, it won't help. Any thoughts? I'll give you more info later if you request it, this is all I can think of from the top of my head (and I don't have the computer next to me at this time since I'm at work). I also had a weird error, now that I think of it, that was saying something like "could not read from 0x89489 (I just put some random digits there, it looked something like this, can't remember the exact combina... I just built a new system, here are the specs:

MB: asrock z75pro3
PSU: Coolermaster 620w
MEM: 8g crucial
GPU: GIGABYTE radeon hd 7950
HD: Samsung 120g SSD
Windows 7 64 bit home premium

I put the rig together and installed/updated windows just fine. Naturally the picture quality was terrible because I hadn't installed the drivers yet. I've tried installing the latest drivers from both AMD's and GIGABYTES' websites, but the same thing happens. The drivers install and then prompt a reboot, when I reboot the resolution is a lot higher like it should be but the video is all messed up with white lines during the windows loading screen. Once windows loads it just shows a blank blue screen, not a BSOD.

After researching I tried using an HDMI cabla as suggested in this thread: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/385083-33-gigabyte-ra...

Tried updating my bios as suggested here but it didnt work:
http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1807...

Have reinstalled windows twice still having the same issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need more info on my system.

Hi,

I went and brought Call of duty the pc game install it booted it up but it comes up with an error message about open GL " GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem" i have trawled the internet and have found lots of solutions... the main one was update the drivers for my video card.

So i went and got the offical drivers of the ati webpage ..fine installed them rebooted, tryed the game and it started for like 3 seconds and just crashed the computer which made it restart..then everytime i started it up it would crash straight away.

I removed the old drivers before i installed the new ones. i even found a drivers romoval tool which i tryed and removed some more... so try it agian but no the same crashing problem was still there. So in the end i has too start in safe mode which was fine and did a sytem restore and the computer back to normal. since ive tryed another game and get this same error about open gl.

So does this mean unless i can some how change the drivers ill either hav to get a new graphics card or never be able to play games???

or is the another thing i could try with the drivers???

Thanks ipatriot

Hey everyone, I am quite new to this website, but would really appreciate your help here.
I have an old beat up laptop- an IBM Thinkpad T41. In order to try to revive the thing, I wiped it clean last night and reinstalled Windows XP Professional 32-bit. However, I am having trouble with the graphics card/drivers. I attempted to install DirectX 9.0 but it says it cannot connect to the database, and when I try to install NVIDIA drivers, it says it cannot install because it cannot connect to the graphics hardware. I am obviously missing some sort of element whether it be in the graphics or video department... I am just unsure as to what I should install onto it. Any help would really be appreciated! Thanks!

Today I wanted to update my laptop with the newest drivers.
I have a Dell Vostro 3700.
So I went to the website of Dell, to the drivers download page, and entered my service tag of my device.
When I scrolled down to the "Video" section. I noticed something, rather confusing..
There's seems to be 3 drivers + a driver for my intel chipset..
Those 3 drivers all refer to my NVIDIA graphics card..
But..
They each have a different name at the end..
I found these:

Geforce 330M N11P-GE1
Geforce GT330M-Discrete
Geforce GT330M-Switchable

The only thing i know is that I have a GT 330M..
But apperently, if i get it right, there are 3 version of this same graphics card model?
When I looked in dxdiag, It also just said "NVIDIA Geforce GT 330M"
and nothing else like "Discrete".
Should I not update my drivers at all?
Or what should I do?

Thanks.

I had this posted on an old thread, but I just have one concern:
This is for Flavallee:

My Graphics and my AMD drivers were working for about three weeks, and now are starting to act up again, with breaking up resolution, etc as we talked before. When I remove all my AMD drivers using the clean tool, it says it now has my Microsoft basic graphics driver loaded. The only thing is when I use this, my computer fan is very loud. When I use the AMD graphics drivers, it quiets down. Is there any harm in using the Microsoft Basic Graphics Driver until I can get this computer somewhere to get it fixed, being on a fixed income this has to wait until I can get the funds to get it fixed. Thanks

I have a ibuypower Azza computer, several years old. It's been running great until recently. Now it runs for a while, then the monitor goes black. The computer is still running because you can hear different sounds if you click on the mouse. In order to get it to work again, I have to shut it off by using the power button, and sometimes waiting a while before it comes back on. Is there any program I can run that can troubleshoot and tell me if it's my monitor, graphics card or drivers. I've run antivirus programs and found nothing out of the ordinary. The computer was cleaned out (carefully using air) after this started to happen. Any advice would be appreciated. I did run the sysinfo utility but it didn't really say anything about the system. The update drivers if there is one for your video card will fix any issues that have been reported and will probably make your card function better.

You will have to get your driver from the manufacturer of your laptop and not Ati as the drivers are very specific.

I have a Toshiba laptop and I went to Toshiba site to get my driver and it made it possible to play games I couldn't before.

Ok I got the daul boot system working. This is a home built PC. I now have another problem. I have an Asus M2A-VM motherboard. I have XP installed on one drive with a Visiontek 5450 Grapchics card. I used the drivers that came on the cd to install it in XP. All seem to be working fine. I rebooted into windows 7 & again used the visiontek cd to install the drivers for the visiontek 5450 on the windows 7 setup. Thats when all the problems started. My pc screen will go black & the only way I can get it back is to force reboot. I booted into safe mode & unistalled the visiontek card & drivers & the pc will boot up. At this point it will install a generic VGA driver & I can only use basic operations of the video card. If I try to reinstall the visiontek drivers I get the problems all over again. Some of the things it will do are I can not shut the pc down. When I hit the restart it will hang on the shutting down screen for 15 or 20 minutes & then go to the BSOD screen & will restart. & the device manager will show that the visiontek driver is installed & I am back to the same problem. As near as I can tell the visiontek drivers are not compatiable with my mother board? I have gone to the visiontek sight & tried at least 3 or 4 different drivers to no avail. In the device manager, my laptop does not recognize the intel graphics card or the AMD graphics card. Instead, there is only a "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". My computer is not detecting either card and behaves as if they do not exist, so I cannot do things like play video games. Any help would be appreciated.

To add context, I upgraded to Windows 10 and my AMD graphics card was causing my computer to blue-screen (video_TDR_failure) so I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. When that didn't fix the problem, I simply disabled it, and that stopped the blue screens.. The next day when I booted up the laptop, it didn't show up in device manager. Someone online suggested that I use DDU on the Intel integrated graphics card to see if that could fix the issue. However it only caused the intel graphics card to disappear and in it's place was the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter as stated above.

To keep it sweet and simple i want to change my Graphics and drivers to Nvidia.Sadly intel is not good enough...well not for the type of gaming i'm trying to do. my computer specs alone are considered "decent". Reinstalling windows 8 is not helping my case either > How can i go about getting this done?

A:How to change graphics card and drivers?

What exact pc do you have? Motherboard..

It solely depends on your motherboard on which video card you should get..

Because of type of connection and speed it will handle..

In my opinion I would go nvidia over amd, but it's just solely based on my experience with nvidia over amd cards always having to change or have things fixed in games updates..

People have many problems with video card incompatible issues so once you pick out a video card you will need to use google and read reviews of it with your specific motherboard and look for people having problems.. Usually you will see many posts of people complaining about problematic video cards and your motherboard.. So obviously stay away from those..

have you tried a different resolution?
when i upgraded the drivers on my laptop, the resolution made no change either. i think it is due to it being a motherboard based video card.

I had a geforce 7800GT in my computer. It recently died. I took it to a technician to diagnose the problem. He ordered a new graphics card for me and installed a "replacement" card for the half week interim. Now, when I say he installed it, I mean he put it onto the board and nothing else. He didn't have the drivers CD or anything like it. He simply said, "I think i have a spare in the back if you want to borrow it for a while." I said "okay."

It's an ATI Radeon x550 256MB

I'm having problems getting drivers onto it correctly. I tried to go the ATI site, but they want me to buy some BS driverrobot software in order to update my drivers. So, I found and downloaded some replacement display drivers, but I keep getting errors upon install.

I get to the installshield wizard for ATI and choose express intallation. It says, "you have chosen to install Catalyst Control Center, the minimum .NET framwork required is 2.0. Please install before launching application." I press OK.

It then continues on for some reason and gives me an error stating "setup did not find a driver compatible with your hardware and operating system." I pres OK, and it exits intall/setup.

Edit: I also don't know if this plays a roll. But, upon starting up for the first time, windows recognized new hardware...but when trying to find software for it off of the internet, the installation failed. Likewise, when I ran dxdiag to... Read more

First go to Guru 3D and download and install DriverSweeper. Then make sure your nvidia drivers are uninstalled via add remove programs. Then remove any ATI drivers you have installed. Go to device manager double click on display adapters then double click any adapters that show in the drop down menu. Go to the driver tab and click on uninstall. You'll get a warning that you are uninstalling the device from your system. Click on OK and reboot your system. In program files delete any nVidia or ATI folders left from the old installations. Then run driver sweeper to make sure any remnants/orphan files from the old drivers are removed. Your resolution should be really large. don't worry about it. Reboot one more time and install the ATI drivers you have downloaded for the card. If you still get the no compatable driver error try downloading an older driver.

Okay, so I have a pretty bad graphics card. It's ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series, but when I went to install the drivers for it, I couldn't select "Windows 10", does this mean that the newest drivers have already been instaled, or do I have to look into buying a better graphics card (which I'm planing either way, but do I have to prioritize getting it)?

I recently bought an MSI Cyclone GeForce GTX 460 graphics card. I stick it in, turn on my computer, let everything run, install drivers, and then....

Startup Repair.

I managed to get passed startup repair due to system restore. I go to my devices and see there's a yellow exclaimation point by my GTX 460. The card itself is recognized, but the driver isn't. I try and run an update, but it says I have the latest drivers. I re-install drivers directly from nvidia and restart. It goes right back to Startup Repair.

I have gotten a few BSOD through this ordeal as well, usually when I try to do a normal boot of windows normally, ignoring Startup Repair.

I have let startup repair finish without using system restore and then I end up going right back to square one. I simply have never experienced such a thing before and I have upgraded my graphics card a few times already in the past.

System repair seems to keep needing to run regardless of how many times it restarts the PC after "completing."

i would
clean nvidia , basic drivers are included in 7 so maybe conflict http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Driver-Cleaner.shtml

then reinstall nvidia driver package for your card
then repair / check files start type sfc /scannow http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html

Hey there,

I'm 13 & new to the Seven Forums, I live in Australia. I have been taking apart computers for parts and am learning some things about computers. I understand a fair bit about computers.

I was just wondering how I can identify my graphics card as in Device Manager, it displays "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". I am sure it displayed something different before I upgraded to Windows 7. I think I may be missing a driver.

Either way, I used to have Windows XP and the game I wish to play worked then, now I have upgraded, it no longer works. This could be because the driver for the graphics card was erased. I am using whatever card comes with this computer, as I have left it unaffected since the purchase of the computer, and all I have altered is the disc drive and hard drive.

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 7, the game won't start and it gives me a graphics error "We are sorry, but the operating system failed to provide the window to render the game graphics in. Please consult the game manual for known workarounds that might improve the game's compatibility with your hardware.". This is for the game "18 Wheels of Steel: American Long Haul". I have checked and this game is compatible with Windows 7.

My specs are below, if you need to know anything else, or know how to help then please comment.

Thanks!

Go to control panel/system and security/system/check windows experience/view and print detailed performance and system information.

You may have to run it if you never have.....just a heads up don't start obsessing about the score....to get a 7.9 will take LOTS of money, and great overclocking skills....

I've never knew Dell made CPU's....

Hey all,

I just completed a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit (x86) after formatting my computer, which was previously running Windows XP Professional SP3. Everything during the install went smoothly, but now I'm trying to install my graphics card drivers and it's not working. Before I go further, here are my system 'specs':

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit
Mobo: ASUS M2A-VM (Green)
Graphics Card: nVidia 9800 GT
CPU: AMD Athlon 5400+

The first driver I attempted to install was my motherboard driver. I used the CD that came with the mobo, but the drivers were not compatible with Windows 7 so I had to run the driver under compatibility mode for Windows Vista in order to open the setup, then I installed those drivers. I then restarted and attempted to install my graphics card drivers off the CD that came with my 9800 GT. The first set of drivers that it installed were the PhysX drivers and those installed just fine. It then attempted to install the actually graphics card drivers, but then it said "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." I opened up dxdiag and checked under the display tab and it's not showing any hardware under that tab, as if I have no graphics card. I then tried installing the Windows 7 32 Bit drivers that I downloaded from the nVidia site for the 9800 GT but when it does the system compatibility check, and error occurs that says &quo... Click on the link to download the proper drivers for your video card. http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-32bit-280.26-whql-driver.html. Go to Start, Control and in the upper right of the screen click on View by and select either large or small icons. Now click on Programs and Features. Are there any video drivers listed? Nvidia? If so uninstall them. After uninstalling the computer will have to be restarted. Windows will find new hardware and when it is finished it will then need to be restarted again. After restarting you can now install the file you downloaded and you should be good to go.

Hey guys,

I have recently ran into some problems with the online game that I play and as a result have to install the new drivers for the integrated ati graphics card . However, I have found that installing just the driver alone does not work. I have been told that I have to install the catalyst control panel as well. When I try to do this is receive teh message that there is a:

1) INF Error - video driver not found (which is not true as i installed it :-s )

2) install standard VGA driver (or something like that)

I tried to boot in safe mode and try doing it that way but if someone can give me step by step instructions as to how to fully install the new catalyst drivers (without these errors coming up ) for my laptop I would really appreciate that.

Cheers,
Pete

Hello everyone. I am having a lot of trouble trying to update the driver on my graphics card. I currently have an Alienware MX17 R3 with an Radeon HD 6870m.

I try to download the driver directly from the AMD site but I get this message. (Attatched)

I go to the Alienware driver page and unfortunately the driver on their website is the one I currently have which is from 2011. To be sure there is a new driver for this card somewhere and I just can't find a way to get it on my computer.

It's very unfortunate that I can't download the newer driver from the AMD site and have to resort to the Alienware site... who does not have the most updated driver. It's 2013 and I'm forced to use a very outdated driver.

Does anyone have any solution to this.

A:Need help updating drivers for graphics card.

Hi there Ryan90!

Seems like it's a common issue where Dell driver won't let you install the regular drivers. Sometime we might need to modify the INI file. Try this one AMD Catalyst if that didn't work I did find an article that might help you with your problem Proper AMD/ATI Driver Install - Alienware User Support it's worth a try.

To keep it sweet and simple i want to change my Graphics and drivers to Nvidia.Sadly intel is not good enough...well not for the type of gaming i'm trying to do. my computer specs alone are considered "decent". Ya know not super beefy but not poor either. Just right i guess lol. Anyways i want to change. I'm tired of intel and i'm getting left in the dust with how ridiculous it is. Reinstalling windows 8 is not helping my case either > How can i go about getting this done?

I was wondering really whats the point in updating your graphic card drivers. What does an updated driver improve when you update the drivers of your current graphics card? Im just trying to see whats the point in me doing it and what does it improve when it comes to games? Does it improve the way your card handles the graphics.

A:Why should I upgrade my graphics card drivers?

You can check the release notes on the driver you plan to install, they usually detail what is included and any performance gains you will receive. The video card manufacturers are always working with game developers to maximize hardware, as a result, you may notice that certain games are listed with the driver release. Those games are generally new/popular and will achieve better performance with new drivers.

On the other hand (cliche), some people don't really benefit from new drivers and the don't like it when new drivers install useless software.

conclusion: If I were you I would read the release notes for the driver you are choosing. Check to see if any games you play are mentioned in the release. Also check to see if it says anything about fixing general issues or increasing performance. Upgrade if you see any of that stuff.

p.s. create a system restore point before installing new drivers so you can roll back your system if you want to. You can find that information here: System Restore Point - Create

I recently began playing Champion's Online, and for some reason it figures my Display Driver is too old.

Now from what I know, the latest Display Driver may not work better then the oldest, and I use a Laptop for my gaming (Desktop replacement)

It uses 64-bit Vista Home Premium & a NVIDIA Geforce 9700m GTS 512mb card

If I were to install the latest drivers, would anyone know of driver remover tools that are coded for Vista 64?

and more importantly can I honestly expect a performance increase of any sort? I believe I'm using Omega drivers atm.

I've found drivers to be unpredictable beasts which sometimes solve a huge amount of problems simply by updating them...

That or they cause problems, but usually I have to say it's helped or had no difference.

Getting rid of them shouldn't be too difficult if it causes issues, but I wouldn't expect they would. I'm no expert on Nvidia though being an ATI man myself, so don't quote me!

Hey I have a BSOD problem with a TDR issue regarding my graphics card driver (geforce 8600 GT). It's been around 3 months now. It happens rarely - once every few days, but it tends to repeat itself multiple times in a row. It stops if i give the pc a rest. Reinstalling the video drivers tends to temporarely help too. The issue then reappers a few days later. There does not seem to be a pattern when it freezes - it does freeze in games, but i had it happen while browsing or watching youtube videos. I recently had a situation when i tried to finish a net game so i played right after a crash and it started "snowin" all over the screen progressivly more, until it crashed again. I tried a lot of stuff: - i found my previous card (geforce 7300), and it crashed too - made 3 memtest passes - set bios to fail safe settings - uninstalled a lot of stuff - virtually everything i could think of outside of lan driver - updated most of the stuff i didnt uninstall - cleaned the case - experimented with drivers - installed old ones (275), and then installed the default windows ones I'm REALLY out of ideas. The only thing that comes to mind is to swap the card for a new ati one - should remove all drivers incompatibility, and hardware defects - but i really wouldn't want to spend money only to have the issue reappear. It could be overheating - the card can reach 90+ under load - but as i said it crashes when not under load as well. Any suggestions would be welc... Read more

It's a Dell Dimension 2400, and it's behaving very oddly. I reformatted the hard drive, installed XP Pro from a Dell CD that did not come with that computer (he didn't have his CD on him, so I borrowed it from his colleague since he was losing money with no computer; I assume it's just the OS when it has a separate driver CD; do some of Dell's OS CD's include the drivers?), and then installed all the programs that the client needed. I then got the drivers from the Dell website (chipset, audio, video, and network). It was running great the whole time I was working on it, which was for many hours.

The next morning, the client started to use it. It worked fine for a little bit, but then started to give errors like the following:

"Instruction at "0x00000000" memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program."

Program: Explorer.exe

"The application failed to initialize properly (0Xc0000044). Click OK."

Program: Firefox

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000012d). Click OK."

Program: iexplore.exe

It came to a point where even RIGHT-clicking on MY COMPUTER and attempting to select "Properties" would cause issues (gave an error message saying the action could not be performed).

When I checked it out later on, sure enough, it was doing exactly that. And even when I tried shutting the computer down, it said I was not authorized to do so. Very odd.

It even got to the poin... Read more
