Question about Intel HD Graphics Card driver update on Satelllite C series

Q: Question about Intel HD Graphics Card driver update on Satelllite C series

This keeps coming up when I use the Intel(R) Driver Update Utility 2.5

"A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer.
The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver
instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues.
Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer."

Should I change from "Customized computer manufacturer driver" to the latest one from here (a "generic Intel driver) - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

I am looking for the option which gives better fps

I bought this laptop years ago, but hated MS Vista, so put it aside and bought a Mac.  Now I want to download Microsoft Visual Studio Community, so figured I would try to put this PC to use, but it cannot be run without upgrading to a more recent OS.My machine has plenty of RAM, hard drive space, and a fast enough processor, but from what I can tell, the problem seems to be the graphics card.  Can anyone explain whether this graphics card would support an upgrade to any of the more recent Microsoft OS's?  If not, is it possible to determine whether the graphics card could be upgraded without taking apart the PC? Thank you!

I want to update my graphic accelerator driver which is Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family.
On the Intel's website I've found for this accelerator and Win XP OS new driver which has been released 31.3.2009, its version is

Though I can't install it because this driver isn't verified by Toshiba and on Toshiba's website is driver which is one year old (of course I've got this one). So, is some way to install new driver from Intel or can you please this driver verified?

BTW If latest drivers are more than one year old, it doesn't look like good support.

Hmm I install the Intel-sourced drivers on my laptop successfully, maybe things have changed.

Anyway have you tried the drivers from a newer Toshiba model?

Is there a reason you want to update the driver? i.e. Do the new drivers fix a problem you are seeing?

Go to Intel | Data Center Solutions, IOT, and PC Innovation Click on Support/Download Drivers and finally automatically find drivers. This will require installing a small Intel update utility. Run that and it will list any applicable Intel drivers for your PC.

That is what I do for the Intel CPU/Video drivers for my i7 3770 CPU.

Second: Try using Vista drivers until new drivers for your card are available.

Third: Windows 7 may already have generic drivers for your graphics card.

Using Dell Command Update on my XPS 13 9350, the Intel 100 series chipset driver ver. keeps coming up as a recommended update and after installing it, and then checking again for updates, it comes up again as a recommended update, so the installation is not succeeding.  Having said that, it now appears in the update history (in the Command Update app) as having been installed 3 times, so what gives, Dell?

This is NOT official HP Customer Support and I, as most other persons on this forum, do not work for HP. This is a peer-to-peer user supported forum for HP products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Any reply from a HP employee represents their own opinion and not that of HP's. It appears you have the latest production release of the Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. The only other driver listed on Intel's support website is which is a BETA version. This BETA driver doesn't appear to address the issue you are having. HP hasn't made it difficult to update the driver. The Intel driver installer is what is telling you it can't install the driver. This is because there is a customized version of the driver on the computer and replacing it with a generic driver may cause issues or loss of functionality of the hardware. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please click the White KUDOS "Thumbs Up" to show your appreciation

Can I uninstall Intel HD Graphics Driver? I have an NVIDIA card. It is optimus though but I wouldn't mind if it always ran off it. I'm not sure how it works so I decided to be safe and ask.

A:Intel HD Graphics Driver [Question]

I'm guessing your computer came with Intel HD integrated graphics and that you upgraded a NVIDIA graphics card.

It's not going to hurt anything to leave the Intel driver installed.

If you uninstall it, you may receive a prompt to install the driver for it the next time you start/restart the computer.

Recently Windows updated my Intel HD Graphics 630 driver. A few days later the same driver was released on Dell's driver support page.
Is there any correlation between Windows Update and Dell's drivers? Who does update the drivers Microsoft themselves or Dell needs to release the driver to Microsoft?
As this is the first time when Windows updated the driver is this how the Intel HD Graphics drivers are to be kept up-to-date via Windows Update?

A:Windows Update vs Dell Update - Intel HD Graphics 530/630 Driver

Referring to the Intel HD graphics driver.
Windows gets code from Intel for the driver and they will implement it in the OS. Dell also gets code from Intel and will release it. Also, Intel will post the driver on their site to download. You can uninstall the Microsoft driver if you choose and install the Dell update driver.

The newest graphics drivers for the Thinkpad P50 contain Intel driver version (the latest available from the Support site). This version of the driver (as well as older versions) has a bug which causes Google Chrome to jitter when in full screen and moving the mouse around the page. One of my programs has been crashing recently and, after contacting the support team of the program, it seems like the issue is caused by my Intel graphics driver being out of date. I have an Acer Aspire 5745 and it has Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I have Intel HD Graphics version I decided to upload it so I searched my laptop on Acer's site but they offer drivers for 64bit only so I downloaded drivers for another Acer model laptop (it uses the same drivers as my model does). I tried to install it but it says "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer".
So I decided to update my driver through device manager and I asked it to update from the folder where I had extracted the driver downloaded from Acer's site. But it says that your driver is up-to-date (it surely isn't).
Please help me, I need to update this driver for smooth gameplay.....

A:Update error in Intel HD Graphics driver

Have you tried the 64 bit version that Acer says is for your specific model? Many times drivers are for both 32 and 64 bit OS. You can also try the Intel site for your Intel chipset.

Proper game play isn't just the video driver. The PC must meet (usually exceed) all the other requirements of the game.

I have a set of HP Z210 Workstations with E3-1245-V2 Xeon Cpu's, SSD boot drives and varying sizes of memory from 8-16GB 1600Mghz DDR3 ECC. We use Windows 8 Enterprise for these machines, with Hyper-V enabled.
We get regular driver failures from the 2 sets of USB controllers on the machines (Mainly and issue for the KB & Mouse) that can only be resolved with a full power down (not restart) and a power up. This happens at least once every 1-3 days per machine.
I had gone through the HP support, but they have advised this isn't an issue on their side, and I had agreed all along. I was just hoping to get some traction by notifying them. Anyway, after a lengthy trouble shooting session, we found that once Hyper-V
was enabled, the fault arose.
As it was an Intel chip, they I asked them. They advised that on Windows 8, the drivers are supplied via windows update and that it was not their issue.
So, how can I get this resolved? Not through HP or Intel, surely through MS? Maybe not. Disabling Hyper-V is not desired as I the teams with these PC's are developers and require local visualization. Also, we have templates ready for Hyper-V, I don't really
want to remove Hyper-V and use Virtual box or VMWare workstation. but I am at wits end with the fault and lack of help from the vendors.
Please help.

Dear Lenovo, My sister has a Lenovo G710 laptop, which has intel HD Graphics 4600, but Lenovo did not updated it's driver for a long time. The G710 is based on i3 CPU, so it is still not so bad, but some 3D programs produce errors/glitches, probably because of the old graphics driver.Lenovo updated the driver for other laptops which use the same 4600 graphics (for E450 for example), but I can not install that driver.Intel has an updated driver for 4600 graphics too, but I can not install it either. Can I ask for an updated graphics driver for G710, or could someone offer me a solution?

Hi,I use a Yoga 720-15lkb with Nvidia GPU with a 4K display.Due to the Nvidia Optimus making Intel HD graphics the sole controller of the display, Windows UI animations lag by an incredible amount at the 3840 x 2160 resolution. There is talk about the Intel Graphics - Windows 10 DCH drivers solving a lot of problems but while trying to install it, it says it has not been validated for my computer. I checked the driver for Yoga 15lkb there where no new updates. Can we get an update from Lenovo for the Intel HD graphics 630?The Windows UI lag is ruining the experience of the 3 day old laptop.

You can install the latest Intel Graphics drivers provided by Intel, but you must first switch to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter first to avoid the "not been validated" message you received earlier.  Before starting, download the latest Intel DCH driver for your graphics adapter if needed, and disconnect any external monitors for the time being. Right-click on Start and select Device ManagerClick on "Display Adapters" to expand, and then double-click on your Intel HD 620 Graphics adapterSelect the Driver tab -> "Update Driver" -> "Browse my computer for driver software" -> "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"Select ?Microsoft Basic Display Adapter?Click ?Next? (note that you screen resolution will likely change) when it switches to the basic driver.Close Device ManagerYou should now be able to install the latest Intel DCH driver you downloaded earlier successfully.  Cheers,

I've spent the last 7 hours trying to get my programs to work correctly, however it appears to be an Intel Graphics Driver issue. 4 (3?) programs I want to work:Blender (open source 3d modelling)Krita (open source painting)libGDX (open source Java game framework, based on GLFW)GLFW (open source C++ OpenGL library) I've read: https://developer.blender.org/T51521Which is the exact issue I have. This is aparently fixed in a new driver from Intel, but Lenovo hasn't released it for the Thinkpad X1 Yoga (2nd Gen) yet.Can those in the know please give an update for this?

Ever since I downloaded the Windows 10 anniversary update, my display has gone absolutely haywire. Weird dots all over the place, major screen tearing--it renders the pc basically unusable. I've isolated the problem in the graphics card--Intel HD 5500, driver version Disabling the graphics card makes all of the problems go away instantly. However, disabling it also means I can't dim the screen, use HDMI, or my Flex anti-blue-light software; being unable to dim the screen at all also drains the battery. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, checking for driver updates, rolling back the driver to the previous version, all to no avail. I have contact Intel directly; they sent me a different, generic driver which I couldn't actually install because it said "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer." I've been all over the forums and Google and I haven't come across anybody else with this exact problem. I have been dealing with this for weeks now and it's driving me crazy--every time my pc updates I hope this will be the one that fixes it, and then, nothing. I have been nothing but happy with my HP Envy up until now, so this is really frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

Just wondering if anyone has been having the same issue.

Windows 7 x64 series 8 motherboard. ASUS z87-expert.

My USB3 and USB2 are not working right after I install the Intel USB3 xhci Driver for Intel? 8/9 Series

I have used the setup.exe to install the driver and the mouse/keyboard stopped working after the drivers are updated and I am not able to click the "Finish" button on the GUI to complete the installation.

Luckily that I was able to remote login to the PC to click the "Finish" button. After restart, the USB ports starts to work again.

A:USB port not working Intel USB3 xhci Driver for Intel« 8/9 Series

Welcome to SevenForums,

It is a little normal that during the process of updating the drivers, it does disconnect the devices plugged onto ports, to swap drivers and write the files in order the new drivers to work. It does remap the devices.

It is always better to uninstall previous USB 3.0 drivers and use a usb 2.0 port to control temporarily another mouse to finish the process and the reboot required. Could be Intel xHci or AsMedia XHci ones...same same.
