Everything Slow Motion.

Q: Everything Slow Motion.

Good Afternoon,

I'm wondering if anyone here can help me, or has experienced the same issue that i'm receiving.
Since today everything I do seems to be in like "Slow Motion". If I open any application it gradually opens and fades in. This has only just started to happen today. I have recently just bought and put in a new CPU cooler the Corsair Hydro H80i and a new Wester Digital HDD, which worked fine for the first two days until this issue started.
My CPU temps show a normal 19 - 22 degrees so it's not the CPU overheating. I've tested re-seating my RAM which didn't change anything.
Flashed my BIOS with removing the battery which also didn't solve the issue. So I was thinking it must be the new HDD. I placed my Old HDD back into the machine, to notice that the same issue is still occurring..
I tested 3 different Sata ports now on the MB, still same issue on all three. So now i'm totally stumped. Only guess is the MB is failing?

PC Spec:

MSI Z68A-G45 B3 MB
Intel i5 3.3Ghz Quad (not Overclocked)
Corsair Veangence 1600Mhz 4gb Ram
Western Digital 500gb Sata3 hdd/samsung 320Gb hdd

Hope you guys can help as i'm a mystery!

Kind Regards,

Paul

Preferred Solution: Everything Slow Motion.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Everything Slow Motion.

Download the ISO image for Memtest in my signature. Burn the image to CD using IMGBurn also in my signature. Remove all but one stick of RAM, boot off of the newly created CD and run the tests on each stick of RAM separately. If you get any errors (Red) that stick of RAM is bad and needs to be replaced.
If all the RAM tests fine, then you may have a flailing PSU. Open the side of the case, look at the label of the PSU and report the make, model# and wattage.

I have been fighting this syndrome for some time now. Here is the background.

I have an Dell Latitude XP OS, PS, 2 MHz processor, 512 MB RAM. etc.

When d/l my mail (Outlook Express), or send it, the process is very slow in the dialup mode. This is not the case with broadband. Slow, meaning minutes upon minutes, compared to seconds. I can 'see' that the computer is 'waiting' for the list of messages from the server, or is waiting to send messages to the server. Sometimes it waits 10 minutes, and the POP server times out.

This never happens with RoadRunner broadband.

I have an IBM Thinkpad (PII) with Win 2000 and it beat this XP20-50X over, working in the same room on the same telephone line.

I have scanned with Ad-Aware, Spybot, Norton AV. I have this software plus Zone Alarm (free) installed on both computers (IBM PII and Dell Latitude).

This is driving me crazy. Is there a 'switch' I can turn off to get this XP system moving a little faster.

Thank you.

Dear TechSupportGuy,

Websites and webpages are slow to load and I get pop ups quite often. One pop up in general loads up and takes up the whole screen 30 seconds after I click internet explorer. Strangely, this pop up only occurs the first time I click on internet explorer. After the first time it doesn't come up again. Also, this pop up sometimes appears on my desktop, and those times I have to restart my computer because I can't remove it from the screen.

Please Help Me,

you have an outdated version of HJT.

Please do this:

* Click here to download HJTsetup.exe
∑ Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
∑ Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
∑ By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
∑ Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
∑ Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
∑ Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
∑ At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
∑ Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
∑ Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
∑ Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
∑ DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to hear me out. My computer is running very very slow! My system performance monitor says my processor is running at 100% (normally runs around 2%). I have had this problem many times before and have successfully fixed it by reading threads. But Iíve run into a real hum-dinger and have exhausted all efforts in my bag of tricks. I have run disk clean up, disk defrag, virus scan, erased all temp internet files and cookies. I run Ad-Ware and Spy-bot. I also erased one gig of fat from by hard drive (mp3ís and picís) still have 16 gig of free space. The last time I had this problem it was AlarmZone that was bogging it down, but it had to be running for at leased 6 hour. Closing it returned my processor back to normal values. I fear I have a nasty bug eating all my power. dose anyone have any ideas? Let me know if you want to see my HiJack list. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I'm running XP on my PC: 2Gig Athlon, 512MB RAM, GeForce Ti4200 and whenever I run OpenGL or DirectX based games (BF1942, Op Flash, IL2) they run in slow motion but with a good frame rate! I have the latest drivers and I'm now using DX9. I had these games running fine under '98. Everything has been done from a clean install of all software (OS, games, drivers, etc.) on a newly formatted HD, and I'm not on the internet at home.

I've read a couple of posts from people with the same problem but none of them got it resolved - does anyone at all have any ideas???:confused

My laptop has nvidia nvs 4200m and hd3000. I got both of them with the latest drivers. Problem is, sometimes the aero animation became slow motion and if I try to play games, the games are in slow motion too. Untried to uninstall the hd3000 driver, it stops the slow motion, but aero and gameplay starts to lag. I was wondering is this only a driver conflict? Or something else?

When I attempt to play games that I've installed on my computer--whether with a CD or from the internet--the video and sound sputter as if in slow motion. It doesn't happen continously during game play, rather in frequent short bursts of like 10 to 15 seconds. These games used to work perfectly fine, and then this problem began to happen once in a while. Now it happens every time the games are played. This issue does not occur with games that came with my computer (like card games, minesweeper, etc). And I don't appear to have any other video or sound issues anywhere else. I have a Compaq Presario 5000, model SPXE1; Integrated SoundMax Digital Audo and 16 MB vVidia Vanta (I think this is my video card); I have Direct X 9.0, and diagnostics on this appear to be fine. It might be noteworthy that this issue first began while playing Microsoft's Ages of Empire II. But now it affects all my games (but preinstalled ones). Help me Please!!!!!!

A:GAME slow motion

Your PC is a little under power for the game.

Minimum:
600 MHz CPU, 128 MB RAM, Windowsģ 98/ME/2000/XP, 32MB DirectXģ 8.1 or higher video card, DirectX 8.0 compatible sound card, High speed Internet connection

Recommended:
800 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM, 3D accelerated 64 MB or equivalent video card

Installation & Settings

When you start the game up you are asked if you would like to install the game, and as with most games these days you can install it without any glitches. Once installed it is a good idea to head through the Start Menu to where the icons are in the Programs section to Configure Rogue Spear. In the Configuration setting you can decide what Graphics Card and What Sound card to use. After configuring the game you can start the game properly and after the normal video introductions to get you in the mood of the game you are given a list of selections.

A:slow motion sound!!!!

I have the same problem.

Using the Realtek ALC850 onboard audio present on my Asus K8N (+Sempron 3100+) every single sound plays at half the normal speed.
For example, it takes 2 minutes to play a 1 minute sound clip.

It is a VERY, VERY strange situation. I've just bought this machine but I think this problem started right after installing SP2 no Windows XP.
I've formated and installed a new slipstreamed version of XP SP2 but the problem continued.

I've changed almost every driver & BIOS option there is to no avail.
Is this a MAJOR problem between Realtek and XP SP2? I see there are some other people having this strange problem.

Hi,

I've been using Windows 7 ultimate x64 since release day and it has always ran great. However, every now and then when i boot into windows the slow motion aero effect keeps being activated automatically, but when i restart, aero goes back to normal.

It has never bothered me since it doesn't happen all the time. I was just wondering if this is a bug or can something interfere and cause it to be enabled?

I am using an ati 5850 graphics card with the 10.11 drivers.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Same has happened to me. I've never tried to enable the slow motion effect, and before figuring out it was an aero feature, I thought there was something wrong with my computer.
It happened about a week ago for the first time, and just this morning for the 2nd, however after rebooting everything was back to normal.

And thus I'd like to know why this happens, just like the topic starter.

Hey,
It only started about 1 month ago. I was watching a series on a Site and unexpectedly it went in slow motion, I mean everything mouse, image blocked while the sound kept playing. I tried to stop it but it didnítí work even after I pressed to open Task manager I had to wait a couple of minute until it opened. From that day every time I am, watching something (only movies or series) on the internet this is happening. Even on, You Tube ,if it is longer than 7/8 minutes, is possible (not always) to happen. Now it is getting worst. I tried in the Task manager to see if something is taking too much power but nothing is wrong. It is a thing that happened only while I am watching something in the internet. I thought it was the Shockwave flash/ player which is working while Iím watching , and when I End task it and it collapses everythingís working again.
Do you have a solution?

Try to rembmer - that problem was from the time your built your computer ?
Or when you installed something ?
try to remember ...

Try System Restore back to before that happened.

In edition - Check this address for more help - http://support.microsoft.com/mats/ae..._working/en-us
Start - type this in Search Box -> CMD.exe find at top and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN

Enter this at the prompt - sfc /scannow

Also run CheckDisk so we can rule out corruption as much as possible.

Also update or re-install the latest video drivers.

I've had this problem for a week or so. I oppen up my pc and it works fine. After some time passes every time I try to perform any task recuiring a bit more processing power like a video or music from iTunes it acts like its in slow motion. The sound is like in slow motion and the video as well. My mouse also moves a bit strange. It's motion is not continuous. The whole thing is slow until I close one of the applications and refresh the desktop a couple of times.
At the begining I thought it's a HDD problem so I ran error-checking but nothing changed.
It's not because my pc is short of power. I have Windows Xp running on an Intel Core 2 Duo 3Ghz with 4GB of RAM.
Thanx in advance

They were playing fine before but have now started to play in slow motion. The sound is normal, but the video plays very slow. The play speed settings are set on 1.0 but won't change if I press normal fast or slow. My computer has an AMD 2 ghz chip, 4 gigs of ram. Any help would be appreciated!

I have a very weird problem.

Sometimes, my computer will just randomly start playing all media in almost like slow motion.

For instance, it will take my computer 5 seconds to get into one second of a song or video.

When this problem comes up, it happens to ALL media. iTunes, Windows Media Player, Hulu, Youtube, everything...

It takes a reboot to get rid of the problem. It has happened to me twice in a few days so far...

I have no idea what the problem could be.

My computer specs are: Windows 7 professional 64 bit

evga p55 le (using onboard audio as well)
intel i7 860
evga gtx 470

I do not have a sound card to test if it is a problem related to the board's onboard audio, but maybe I should invest in one? I am fine with the sound quality of the onboard audio, but maybe the problem will go away?

I'm doubting anyone can help but I guess it's worth a shot.... Battlefield 2 (game) is running in slow motion. It used to run fine at full settings. It's not a lag issue, it happens right away on the tital screen.
I've narrowed it down to more than likely a mobo compatibility problem. The only way I WAS able to run it for awhile was to pull the main battery and reboot. (Something is writting cmos/bios...?) Now that trick doesn't work. The mother board and processor is a stock sony Vaio and their really isn't any settings to look at or change in bios.
And yes, I have tried EVERYTHING else (update drivers, reinstall, defrag, swapped video cards, c drive restore, spyware, virus check, cleared bf2 files, manually updated pb, memory tests, hd test, temp tests ECT, ect...)
This has got to be a conflict as this circuit city paper weight was not meant to be upgraded... Its running at the same speed (about half video only, sound is fine) regardless of what I do and it does it on Half life as well. Here are the specs

P4 3.2 hyper threaded, (915g express, 775 socket?) video card upgraded to 7800gt aopen, ram 1.5 (1 gig kingston hyper x 3200 184 pin, the other half is stock) 120 g hdm, 550watt ps.
I would be highly impressed if anyone could even start to help me....

I don't know how to exactly describe it but, every part of my PC, Aero, Movies, even Games, are behaving as if they are in slow motion.

I tried disabling Aero it didn't help. Updated nvidia drivers did not help. I re-installed games from steam. Did not help!

I don't know what could be wrong it just started working like this last night when i was playing New Vegas.

I tried system restore, did not work. I don't know what else I can do?

A:Why is my entire computer in slow motion?

Hello Robert,

I'm not sure what may be the cause, but you might use the free Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper to run a scan on your system at boot to help make sure it's malware/virus free.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Is there any program available to allow me to play a movie I made in slow motion and allow freezing an individual frame?

A:Play .mov file in slow motion

A .mov file will play in Quicktime, and even the free version lets you adjust speed.(see attachment)

I used a file from a digital camera, encoded with Mjpeg at 15fps, so I don't know if this works for all .mov files.

I would check the sound drivers in Device Manager, maybe upgrade the driver.

The problem: A few weeks ago I began to notice that upon booting up my computer the animation that opens and closes windows on my desktop was being displayed in extreme slow motion. Slow enough that I could clearly see every frame of animation. In addition, I was pretty surprised to see that any game I played would similarly run in slow motion. My frame rate was excellent, but everything on the screen would be going no faster than 10% of its normal speed.

For a while rebooting once fixed the problem. Then I had to reboot twice, then three times in order to fix the issue. Finally, this morning, no amount of rebooting will resolve the issue.

Things I have already tried:
1) Turning it off, then on again.
2) Completely removing the catalyst control center and drivers and reinstalling the latest version
3) A file integrity scan using CMD.exe
4) A checkdisk scan
5) A furmark GPU stress test which confirms my graphics card is likely not damaged or failing
6) A rollback to a previous configuration - this did nothing and was an enormous pain.
7) Ran a registry cleaning tool.
8) Ran a disk defrag
9) Disabled aero, which only masks the underlying problem (as long as you don't try to play a game)

I am now at the point where I am faced with a complete reinstall, which I not only absolutely do not want to do but which I am also not certain will work given the number of software related solutions that have failed to correct the issue (what ever it is).

If anyone has any knowledge of wh... Read more

Consider the following...

Anything done to the system shortly before this started happening? (ANY new apps/updates or games?)

Did this ever system ever get overclocked to your knowledge in any way shape or form?

Anyone been into the BIOS and make ANY changes there, before this began happening?

Done a full virus/trojan/malware scan lately?

Suffer from brownouts, blackouts, or voltage fluctuation in your area, at all?

You get NO BSODs and no instant system shutdowns or reboots, random or otherwise?

That sounds way too much like a driver issue, you have reinstalled the latest chipset driver for your motherboard and Direct-X, also?

I'd try another Catalyst version then the current, after a full uninstall of course. [guru3d.com has tons of choice and reliable site, been using for years] You have run the tools to be sure you have a clean uninstall? I use Trexxy.com's Driver Fusion for this now.

Hi Everyone!

Over the last week I have noticed my Win 2000 PC getting slower and slower.

I am not a heavy downloader, and have over 7GB left on my 40 GB HD. Two days ago I installed some auto updates from Microsoft, and I noticed a system 'hang' when trying to shut down my PC afterwards. It took 17 mins for it to close.

The next morning the boot up/start up on my PC took an eternity....it now takes over 6 mins to boot to my desktop, and when there, everything has slowed to a snails pace. I contacted Microsoft, explained the problem and that I was on Sp4, and they sent me a Hotfix for article ID 884039 on their site about W2K slowing up. This did very little to help.

I have defragged, reg cleaned, and run Service Controller Xp 2.2...and tried to limit any resourse issues, but still the thing runs close to dead. Dont understand it!? If anyone could shed any light I would be most grateful, and I have a HiJackThis log if anyone would kindly be willing to look at it for me?

Thank you for time and consideration in this way!

Nathan

Hi, Don't see anything that would be causing this...have you tried an online antivirus scanner?

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

BTW-> you should not run HJT from a Temp folder...if you use it to Fix anything, the backups it makes will not be saved or scattered, hard to find---> You should create folder just for HJT. Lacking creativity, I just do this:
C:\HJT drag your hijackthis.exe into the folder you make. Done. Run HJT from there if you ever have problems to FIX---no need for you to re-post a log. It happens, you might remove something by mistake...having the backups handy is very wise idea...You have heard about the 14 year old who "was only helping..." and thought all the items were hijacks.....? Probably a good idea to not have the program around TOO handy if little ones use the machine with access to Windows Explorer.
