P53(20QN) on Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock just randomly wakes opp external display after sleep

Q: P53(20QN) on Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock just randomly wakes opp external display after sleep

Hello I seem to have a problem on my P53 laptop, as the external displays, connected on the two HDMI ports on the Lenovo TP Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock(Product nr.: 40AN0230EU), they just randomly turn on on the first try. If they not turn on, on the first try, I have to put it back to sleep and then awake again at once. I always use the power button on the dock.So where can I see what firmware version I have for my Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock. I se that I have controller driver version 1.41.648.4.I've also search on Lonovo's site to find a download, but can only find this site: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/accessory/docks/thunderbolt-3-workstation-dock/40an/down... but I can not see the workstation dock listed, just the Thunderbolt 3 dock, but maybe that cover's both? The version listed is: V1.0.0.20 of 07 Aug 2019. I'm also very confused about what dock I really have, is it the: ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock, ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 or the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock Gen 2 , or are they all the same as they seem to use the same driver if you look at this site: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/DS505148 , here the latest driver version are : V10015 of 23 Sep 2019. It's also odd that the Sep version(10015) has a lover number that the Aug version(10020)? I'm also very confused as if the terms firmware and driver's are used correctly, and are there really 3 different driver's for one dock, here: control driver, dock driver and firmware? RegardsTerje

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello everyone, I recently bought a Thinkpad X1 Extreme and I am now locking for a suitable Thunderbolt 3 dock. Although I've read a lot of posts about various docks I am still a little consfused about which one to choose. It seems like the following ones would all work with the X1 Extreme:1. Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 135W:https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/accessories-and-monitors/docking/universal-cable-docks-thunderbolt/Thun...2. ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock (170W):https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/accessories-and-monitors/docking/universal-cable-docks-thunderbolt/Thun...3. ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock (230W):https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/accessories-and-monitors/top-tech/Thunderbolt-WS-230W-dock-US/p/40AN023... Please correct me if I am wrong but to me it seems as if the only difference between these docks is that the workstation ones come with two AC adapters each and a special Thunderbolt/Power cable to avoid using two different cables. Or are there any other technical differences? So if I am okay with a two cable solution couldn't I just use the Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 135W and connect it via Thunderbolt while at the same time use my 135W AC adapter to charge the laptop? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi, I'm using the new ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock which came out with the P52 with my P1. So far it almost works fine when you boot up, but whenever I disconnect the machine from it after sending it to sleep or hibernation (like overnight)  and plug it in the other day the mouse and keyboard are not detected.I need to reboot the laptop to use them again with the dock. Thats really annoying. I thought it might be a driver issue but after updating to the newsest drivers from lenovo the problem persists. Has anybody a solution for that? Of course all other updates from Lenovo side are in  place..and I'm still using windows 10 1803.the mouse is a razer deathadder and the keyboard a Filco majestouch 2.Is that the typical glitch of a new product we always have to face as beta testers :-) Merci A

I used the Lenovo System Update (v5.07.0074) and was prompted to download and install (was listed as Critical Update) the Firmware to my Dock.  As always, I closed all applications and sat as the Firmware downloaded. I got the expected prompt to ensure I was plugged in. I then watched as the upgraded prompted me to install. Installation completed and everything appeared to be fine.  I powered down the thinkpad and disconnected. Worked from the living room, then went back to the dock. Connected, and noticed that before I connected the White light on the power button was illuminated. Shrugged, and pushed the power button. Nothing. I un-plugged the Dock, got a cup of coffee, returned and plugged it back in. Nothing. I then noticed that none of the pass-through power was working on the dock.  So, I unplugged it again.  Unplugged everything connected to it, and held the power button down for 15 seconds in an effort. All of this at the recommendation of Lenovo Support. Who, by the way, was very nice and well spoken. Nothing we did worked. I happened to have another Thunderbolt 3 cable in my bag, and no change. I powered up my new X1 Yoga, and connected the cable. No power. This wasn't passing power at all. I confirmed the Intel Thunderbolt app was running, and confirmed that Windows was not even detecting the Dock.  Lenovo is sending me a replacement. I had this one all of a week. Did I miss any other steps while I wait for it to be repl... Read more

Hi, I'm having issues with my external 4k display to only be able to operate at 30Hz. I have my laptop connected to a generation 2 Thunderbolt 3 dock via the provided cable, and from there I have tried both DisplayPort and HDMI cables (several) to connect to my display. All the technical information I have seen says that my laptop plus the dock should be able to operate at 60Hz even at this resolution, but I'm unable to lock down the settings that enable me to do that. I have pulled the latest BIOS, TB3 FW, display drivers, Intel chipset drivers from the product page.My screen is: AOC U3277FWQ if that matters. I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1809. Has anyone battled with the same issue? I'm running out of ideas on how to solve this. The HDMI port on the side is apparently only 1.4 so this would only support the [email protected], but I'm not using it at the moment. If I set the screen to 1920x1080, I can set the resolution to 60Hz. Best regards,_tero

Hello, I have a Lenovo X1E, 1st gen 20MF laptop hooked to my second Thunderbolt 3 workstation dock. I have already had to replace the Dock once because of connection issues. My current one was messing up as well until I flashed both the X1E thunderbolt controller and the dock as well, I also read on another forum about disabling some power setting in the BIOS but I cant remember what setting it was. However, now when I launch a full screen game, such as World of Warcraft, the dock will disconnect and reconnect randomly. I am about to toss this $400 dollar paperweight out the window! Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful!

Hello All.  I am new here. My company replaced my W540 (Windows 7 OS) Thinkpad with a P52 (Windows 10 OS) Thinkpad.  I have an external DisplayPort monitor and extend the desktop to it.  I have a USB printer.  I use both wired Ethernet, and wifi.  I have a wireless Logitech mouse.  I also have a set of Altec speakers.  The P52 no longer uses the sit on type of Dock, so I bought a Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock (230W).  I set everything up, with the external monitor connected to the Thunderbolt 3, along with the Ethernet, printer, speakers, and Logitech Unifying transceiver.  With everything connected, the P52 connected to the monitor just fine, and I extended the Desktop to it.  The P52 could not see the printer, the Ethernet, or the Logitech Unifying transceiver.  If I move these items to direct connection on the P52, they are all found right away. Today, I downloaded the latest software and drivers for the Thunderbolt 3, and then installed them.  I have the same results for the four peripherals.  Am I missing something?  My Windows 10 OS is the Enterprise Edition, version 1803.  The Dock lets me connect the monitor and the power with one cable, but I still need to plug in and out the other four items if I use them. Help Please... Thanks,Bunsen1

Has anyone seen any issues with the new Thunderbolt 3 Gen 2 Workstation Dock 40ANY230US and using the USB ports? Specifically what happens is when a user undocks and goes to a meeting and comes back, redocks and then they see USB not recognized or malfunctioned errors. They then have to restart in order to get the USB functionality back. Then as soon as they undock and redock it happens again.  So far I have almost been able to track it down to having a Jabra headset dongle plugged into the dock when this happens.  Wondering if anyone has experienced this or has a fix? Thanks!

Dear community, I am running a Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock with my P72 and I am having a hard time to get some of my realtime USB devices to run properly: (1) 1080p Webcams: I tested 2 devices (Logitech C930e and Microsoft LifeCam Studio) and both provide an unstable video stream, which is regularly interrupted by distortions. A lower 720p stream with another device (Logitech C270) works fine, though. (2) Oculus Rift Headset and Oculus Sensor: Does not run at all or with bad tracking performance. Those devices require a stable USB 3.0 connection to function properly. All of those devices run perfectly when connected to my Thinkpad P72 diretly. So chances are, that the Dock is causing the problems, I have the Dock's latest drivers (v10011) and firmware (04-0E-83_Rev_0083) installed. Does the Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock actually support fast USB connections (such as high definition Webcams)? Or is it rather likely that my Dock and/or the Thunderbolt cable are damaged?  I have been working on this issue for many hours now. So any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Robert

I have a P52 and a Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Dock Workstation Gen2 On the dock I have 2 Dell U2415 connected via a DisplayPort cable and a microsoft wired keyboard. When I lock the computer, the monitors turn off after a few seconds. Usually any key press or mouse move wakes up the monitors so I can login to Windows 10. The problem I have is that since the last firmware update 3.1.64, the screens don't always wake up when I press a key. A workaround to nudge the screens to wake up is to switch off one monitor, then switch it back on when the other screen wakes up. Another workaround is to press the dock button which puts the computer to sleep, then wake it up after a few seconds. Clearly both workarounds are not ideal and I would like this problem fixed. Note that I had the same problem when I bought the dock with the original dock firmware 3.1.53 and the problem was solved when I upgraded to version 3.1.61.  I have tried installing firmware 3.1.61 as I had the files around but the installer will not let me downgrade. Is there a way to force a downgrade to version 3.1.61 or is there another way to fix this problem? Thanks

Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation DockEU/INA/VIE/ROKModel name: 40AN0230EULink (US version) I didn't find any decent pictures and or specs about this dock for the P series workstations, so here you are some pictures. It has a special combined cable, that allows to attach the powercable and the Thunderbolt cable in one. On the P1, P52, and P72, the sockets for the power adapter and the Thunderbolt are arranged the same way that the cable can plug in exactly. This is a simple and clever solution I think. The dock arrives with:230 W power adapter (which is for the P72 necessary, the P52 and P1 can use smaller ones), and I think is a simple pass-through from the dock to the laptop.65W power adapter - which is for powering the dock itself Downsides:The dock's cable is only 60 cm long, so there is not enough length to hide the dock (I think this is related to display data on Thunderbolt - can someone confirm?)And that the cable can be plugged in in one direction, so it will determine how the laptop and dock can be positioned relative to each otherConnections:USB: 5Thunderbolt: 2Audio: 1Network: 1Lock: 1List price is 392? in Belgium.

I received the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock back in October. In fact, I got two: one for the home office and one for the work office. It came in a small but heavy package (yes, it has two power adapters inside: a 65W and a 230W one). As mobile workstations have a power requirement that is more than 100W - P1/X1X requires 135W, the P52 170W and the P72 230W - a single TB3 cable cannot carry power to the notebook. Hence the special double cable that comes with the dock. I know I read a lot of arguments on which is better - the mechanical dock or the cable dock.    I have been using both docks daily since I got them, and I gathered my thoughts into two articles.   The review has my opinion about the dock and how it functions. You will also find more pictures about the dock and cable in this article. The troubleshooting article has some issues I bumped into and some solutions for them. One issue in particular mechanical dock fans will love :-) The cable can dislodge easily, and while the dock functions because there is a Thunderbolt 3 connection, the power connection gets terminated and the notebook will use battery power. Read more about in my troubleshooting article.

HelloI've seen postings on Solidworks forum that there can be a conflikt between the Intel® HD Graphics 630 and the Quadro P2000 when running on extern monitor: https://forum.solidworks.com/thread/233873 "I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P1 with an Intel Xeon E-2176M and an NVIDIA Quadro P2000. The integrated graphics for the Xeon processor are Intel UHD P630, which does not appear to have official support from Solidworks. When connected to a second monitor, Solidworks crashes anytime I try to open or start a part because the second monitor uses the integrated graphics. The only work-around I have is to disable the Intel graphics drivers, but this is annoying and I feel like I shouldn't have to do this. The NVIDIA control panel setting is already telling Solidworks to use the P2000 card, but this doesn't seem to matter. All my drivers are up to date with what has been validated by Lenovo. Solidworks just doesn't like UHD P630. Does anyone know if support for UHD P630 is in the works?" Is it likely to be a problem on a Thinkpad P1 gen2 with an Quadro T2000 and Intel® HD Graphics 630 when running Solidworks on ekstern monitor on Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock - EU/INA/VIE/ROK? I ask becuse this will be a dealbraker for me if I buy the Thinkpad P1, as I normally always use external monitor at home when docked!

Just to make sure that everything is up to date on your machine, run the update through the Vantage app. Install all detected updates and check if the issue is still the same. After the latest (almost mandatory according to alert) BIOS update of my P53 I cannot undock and redock without rebooting. The dock is recognized but the USB ports do not work after redock - the display does. It is the same on two different docks with newest and second newest dock firmware. First Lenvo support would not help at all - said it was a software problem - and now they after me complaining want to take the machine in for repair. I doubt it is a hardware problem but just a side effect after updating the BIOS. Anybody else with same problem and a solution? No way to get "real" qualified help from Lenovo on such an issue. It takes forever to reinstall and setup all software and tools on a workstation and just re-formatting and re-installing Windows (advice from support) with is not way to solve a problem induced by Lenovo in my mind. It is an expensive computer and expensive docking stations - but apparently no real support.

Hi guys, This morning System Update ran and installed a bunch of the newest March 2019 updates. The big one was the Intel Management Engine. After rebooting, when my Thunderbolt 3 Dock is plugged into my Lenovo P52 it freezes on the POST screen with the Lenovo logo. If i unplug the dock it boots fine, plug the dock in after the OS is booted, things work fine. Its just during the POST during secure boot. I tried reflashing the Thunderbolt firmware to the 11/2018 to no avail, reflashed the dock with version 3.x of the firmware (latest) no difference, downgraded the firmware on the dock, changed the boot support methods for thunderbolt, so on and so forth.  Its strange it doesn't get past the logo screen it just sits. Is there another version of the Thunderbolt firmware i should be using besides the November 2018? I really would not like to peel back all the different updates that it updatedAnybody got any ideas? Is there a way to find what the cause is? Honestly i can unplug the dock when i reboot and plug it back in within a second after the POST screen and things work as normal. Its just a pain.

I have a new T480 and Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 dock. I find that often when I close--but in no way shut down--the computer for the night, when I restart in the morning, it completely restarts, so I lose open tabs, unsaved work, etc. I can understand enough of the system event log to determine that the computer always goes to sleep when I close it, then, per the power plan, hibernates three hours later--or at least tries to. The first sign of trouble in the logs comes at the time of hibernation. For example, at 2:37:25 this morning there is the routine Information event, "The system is entering sleep. Sleep Reason: Hibernate from Sleep - Fixed Timeout." This is followed immediately by the warning, "6105 - deauth after EAPOL key exchange sequence". Over the next 5 minutes come two more warnings and eight errors. Then nothing until I start the machine in the morning. One of the first events on restart is the information message, "The last shutdown's success status was false. The last boot's success status was true." It appears to me that this only happens if the computer is plugged into the Thunderbolt 3 dock overnight. To the dock are connected a (gigabit) ethernet cable, a displayport monitor, a mouse, a keyboard, and a pair of headphones. Here is a fuller dump of the error log at the last time it was hibernating, or trying to: Level Date and Time Source Event ID Task CategoryError 7/30/2018 2:41:33 AM Microsoft-Windows-DistributedCOM 10010 None The server {3EB... I've been noticing that my computer is randomly snapping out of sleep mode after a few hours.

I'm positive that I'm not bumping into the mouse or anything to accidentally wake it as I make sure to turn my wireless mouse off once I've finished a session on the computer. and often times the computer will wake in the middle of the night. I will select sleep mode before going to bed and when I wake up it will be running like normal, I'm really not sure what is causing this problem so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

A:Computer randomly wakes from sleep mode

Click the start orb and type device manager. When it shows up in the search results, press Enter.Locate your network adapters and double-click on the first one. Go to the Advanced tab. Scroll through the list and look for any "Wake on..." or "WOL" entries. Make sure they are disabled.Do this for each network adapter.Let us know if anything changes.

I wanted to contribute and hope this helps someone. I had a problem for about a week, after upgrading to windows 10, where my pc would wake randomly.
I went through control panel and power and adjusted all of those settings, made to uncheck the box that allows the pc to wake for updates. This didn't work. Finally, I caught the pc after a wake and put in the cmd powercfg -lastwake.

This told me it was my PCI Ethernet card waking my PC. I went to the device manager, right clicked this card, went to the power management tab and unchecked "allow this to wake pc". This has corrected my problem.

Hope this helps someone.

Also, for some reason, i am unable to determine what woke the computer last using "powercfg -lastwake" in command prompt. CMD tells me that it isn't a valid function.

This is a very aggravating problem, as ever time i go back to use my laptop, i find that it is already on and very hot.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Each time I put my Fujitsu T4220 to sleep it wakes up randomly at different times and drains the battery. Wakeup on LAN is turned off in the BIOS.

Any suggestions?

Issue 1I purchased the ZBook Studio G3 + 2 months wait on the Thunderbolt 3 Dock to primarily connect 2 4K Samsung monitors.  When connected via the display port one will display at 4k while the other will only display @ 2560X1440.  I had bought a a couple of CableMatters thunderbolt 3 X display port adapters while waiting on the dock.  If I plug one of the monitors in using the adapter and the other into the display port both will display 4K.Anybody else having this issue? Issue 2After the computer goes to sleep only one monitor will wake up.  The NVDIA control panel still shows both connected.  Only way to get the second monitor awake is to shutdown and reboot. Issue 3I have the displays configured to go blank after 1 hour.  Once this occurs and I enter my password all of my open programs are displayed on one screen rather than on both.  This would be normal if you have undocked and re-docked a laptop. Issue 4If the laptop is opened while docked. One display goes blank and one is duplicated with the laptop screen.  This is not typical docked behavior.  I moved from an  Elitebook 8540W with dock.  I'm really questioning my whether this was an upgrade.

hi, I have setup one of my faculty with a Yoga 920131KB plus Thunderbolt 3 Dock. He has an existing monitor (Samsung Syncmaster P2450) that should support 1920x1080. Seems to be current on all drivers and patches under Win10 EDU version. (Including the CCG4 Firmware Update to v55). We are using the HDMI output from the dock. If we try to configure extended desktop to the Samsung monitor at 1920x1080, the screen extends off both sides about half an inch. Maybe also a quarter inch over at the top.  As a work-around, set at 1680x1050, video generally works as expected, but the display starts about 2" in from either side. Generally I don't like using add-on utilities (prefer to just use standard windows built-in options), but somewhere along the line this has the Intel Graphics HD Utility.  I was using that to switch resolution, the Windows settings seemed to track along with changes in the Intel utility, but still overscanned the display.  I played with some other settings in the utility about Display Scale (other than 100%), didn't seem to change anything. A second problem occurs with this setup: when the laptop is used at home, put to sleep, then plugged into the dock, the screen is displayed on the external monitor at maybe 200% (?).  That is, you only see the central portion of the image.  No fiddling with settings seems to correct it, but rebooting usually fixes it. The second problem also occurs with a similar Yoga 920 + Dock (d... Also wanted to mention something I noticed while working on this: I saved a log from the Intel Utility. There is a section in there about "Maximum Image Size". This seemed to be correct for the laptop display (12.2"x6.69") but the Samsung was listed at 6.3" x 3.54"    It is a 24" diagonal display, so that is obviously wrong, but I don't know that it is important. Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 Report Date: Monday, February 5, 2018Report Time [hh:mm:ss]: 1:21:19 PMDriver Version: 23.20.16.4849Operating System: Windows* 10 Education (10.0.16299)Physical Memory: 16225 MBVendor ID: 8086Device ID: 5917Device Revision: 07Graphics Output Protocol (GOP) Version: 9.0.1066Current Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Display Type: DigitalDDC2 Protocol: SupportedGamma: 2.2Connector Type: DisplayPortDevice Type: DisplayPortMaximum Image SizeHorizontal Size: 6.3 inchesVertical Size: 3.54 inches

So as the title says, every now and then Windows 10 randomly decides to wake itself up from sleep. It doesn't happen at any consistent time, some days it stays asleep until I actually turn the PC back on. Using powercfg /lastwake just gives me a wake history count and doesn't provide any information.

I can't figure out why this is happening. I've tried googling it and have found similar complaints but no real solution. It's not hardware that is waking it up and I have already disabled the "allow wake" setting for my network adapters in device manager. Can someone please help?

Thanks.

A:Windows 10 randomly wakes up from sleep. Lastwake empty

The issue was caused by TeamViewer, it creates wake timers that are somehow ran even though wake timers are disabled. Try to uninstall TeamViewe.

Connect DELL UP2715K with two DP ports to Workstation Dock, P70 will recognize the display as TWO displays, and max resolution will be 2560*1440. It's very disappointing.  The MBP 2014, which have two mini-dp ports can drive UP2715K at 5k * 60Hz.

A:Workstation Dock not support DELL 5k display

MBP 2014 has 2 thunderbolt port, not just two miniDP port. Try connecting the Dell monitor directly to the 2 x Thunderbolt 3.0 ports.

Hi! I purchased a P50 laptop with a workstation dock in May. Since then I've had great difficulty with external displays through the dock. I have now managed to get my Eizo CGX271 to work properly at 2560x1440 resolution, 60Hz, via displayport. However, I also have an Apple Cinema display 30'', with a native 2560x1600 resolution. This I can't get to work through the dock. I have tried the DVI connection, but it seems not to be dual link as required. So, I have tried an active DVI to DP-adapter:http://www.accellcables.com/products/ultraav-displayport-to-dvi-d-dual-link-adapterNo result.I have also used Apples Mini DP to Dual link DVI adapter, but this obviously cannot connect to the dock. As the Apple screen works fine when the P50 is not docked, it doesn't work while docked. Now, this page boasts 5 simultaneous displays with the dock: https://support.lenovo.com/no/en/documents/pd029622But I cannot even get two to work. And what does "selecatble while docked" mean for the Mini DP? I have updated my BIOS, and the dock firmware to version 2.30. Still no luck.I have paid a lot of hard earned cash for this equipment, and must say I'm pretty disappointed. Is there anyone who can help?

Hi All,  I recently got two 1920x1080 monitors and have been attempting to hook them up to my Thunderbolt 3 dock and X1 Carbon with no success. All firmware has been updated, and the dock detects each display individually, when the other is disconnected and reconnected. Everything else works on the dock with no issues.  Thanks.

Thinkpad P51 with dual (DVI and HDMI) monitors connected to Dock.  P51 wakes fine and one monitor (DVI) sees signal (awakes from sleep mode), the other sees no signal.  Regardless no video information is sent to either monitor - the DVI monitor is awake but black screen - the HDMI remains asleep. Removing and reinserting connectors has no impact. Cycling P51 into and out of sleep mode makes no difference. Removing P51 from dock and all functions correctly. USB (dongle) mouse and keyboard functions also loses functionality when P51 is docked.  They awaken the P51 but do not function correctly. removal of Laptop from dock and they function fine along with local monitor.  Re-install into dock and mouse/keyboard are inoperable. Only a hard shutdown and reboot via the dock switch (laptop remaining docked) returns the system to correct function.  All is normal and functioning.  Both monitors are immediately recognized, USB mouse & keyboard fully functional. When plugged in: Monitors set to sleep in 10 and PC in 30mins.  Short sleep (50-90mins) and system awakens correctly - overnight sleep (8-10hrs) and this happens every time.   Latest Dock FW/drivers is installed.   System and dock brand new - just arrived last week.

My Yoga 920 seems to ranomly wake from sleep when the lid is closed. I'd had several occasions when travelling to find my latop completely dead when I needed it - or finding it burning up in the confines of my bag. A few times, I've been alerted to problem when I happen to hear my laptop make a notification sound. When this happens, the screen is already on when I open the lid and much of the bettery has been used. I've seen this occur both in and out of my bag. Nothing is plug into the laptop other then the dummy USB holder for the pen. I have Vantage installed and all updates have been applied.

Hello! I have a Windows 7 Home Edition computer that randomly wakes up from sleep mode without any user intervention. It occurs about 5 minutes from when I first put the computer to sleep, and it goes back to sleep after a few minutes. I'm worried I might have a malware infection that is causing this issue. What is causing this, and how can I fix it?

Hello Everyone, I am new here so please go easy on me.I just bought and X1 Carbon 5th Gen laptop c/w Thunderbolt 3.0 docking station. The problem that I have is that the docking station won't recognise any of the external screens that are connected.I am using two Acer screens (one is connected using HDMI port on the dock and the other one uisng Display port).I have tried by connecting just one screen but nothing.I can see that Thunderbolt software is installed and its connected to my laptop. The laptop will charge through the docking station and also the wireless mouse and keyboard will work fine through the dock.Lenovo recommended that i should update my drivers. So I installed Lenovo Companion from Windows store. But it won't update my system. After clicking on System Update, I will get an error message saying "There is a problem in reteriving new updates for your system. Please try again later".Hence I downloaded all the drivers from support website and installed them manually but my docking station is still not working with the external monitors. The monitors works fine when connected directly to the laptop using the HDMI cable. Thanks in advance for your help.
