Can we know the cause of system faillure depends on the type of beep sound..

Q: Can we know the cause of system faillure depends on the type of beep sound..

Can we know the cause of system faillure depends on the type of beep sound when the system is starting up?

Preferred Solution: Can we know the cause of system faillure depends on the type of beep sound..

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Can we know the cause of system faillure depends on the type of beep sound..

Yes. Usually there will be an explanation of beep codes in your motherboard manual.

Almost everytime I power on my system My MoBo emits this siren type noise. My MoBo is an ASUS P2B-D (Award Bios) With 256MB Ram PIII 500. I have tried the following:

Reseated RAM & all Cards
Changed RAM & all Cards
Reset Bios Defaults
Flashed Bios

After switching it on and off a few dozen times it will bootup ok. I am quite happy to leave it running all the time but I am running a microsoft OS!!! Need i say more.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated

A:{SOLVED} Siren Type Beep when powering up system

Hi Rogue51

Just a random thought. From what I have read most siren type noises have to do with over heat warnings possibly a fan doesn't have a temp sensor on it or isn't up to speed. I would look in Bios for something dealing with overheat sensing. BOL

Hi, i'm new here at SevenForums, and i have a little problem that is driving me crazy.

So, a friend of mine has an Asus K52J with W7, last week when he was working it happeared a blue screen then i think he tried to repair it himself by using the System Repair and it didn't find any error and then he made a reboot. Now every time he turns the laptop on the SR starts working giving allways the same information. No errors but can't even start up windows.

What can i do to help me since i've allready tried a lot of things and nothing appears to work. I have a Bootable CD from ASUS but i think the CD-ROM isn't working because it makes a lot of noize and nothing happens too.

May i be able with my laptop to copy that bootable cd into an usb flash? or may i do something else? help me PLZ

A:System Repair Faillure

Hello K0M and welcome mate the fact that the opto drive is making nasty noises would make me take it straight back for a warranty check.

An option is a factory default that is if you don't mind starting from scratch you can take the machine back to as it came out of the factory / shop / dealer etc

When you power up as soon as the Asus logo starts up hit the F9 key it will prompt you through the install process. Personally I just keep a rhythmical tapping up on the factory default key for whatever machine I do it on. Different brands different keys and as far as I am aware the F9 is the Asus one.

One thing is for sure once you have it up and running - make a rescue / back up disk!!

I am getting beep sounds when i turn on my dell inspiron n5010.

A:RE: Dell Inspiron 15 - 3000 series - Beep Beep Beep Pause Beep Beep Beep

Hi Ganny,
What are the exact # of beeps in a cycle?
Kindly review this chart and see page# 47 - it will help isolate the source of the issue.
Based on the exact # of beeps, that part would need to be replaced.
Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private message with the service tag and your Name for case records.
Let us know if you have any other queries.

My laptop here is a Dell Inspiron 15, 3000 series.
The laptop itself works perfectly fine, I am able to get into windows (which I installed myself, it originally came with Ubuntu).
Occasionally though, it will do a BEEP BEEP BEEP PAUSE BEEP BEEP BEEP PAUSE (repeats).
This happens on boot and sometimes when I am using it. Sometimes it turns off suddenly when I am shifting the computer around. It's extremely loud.

What is causing this? The sound seems to be coming from around the area the Memory banks are under the laptop, but nothing seems to suggest that anything is wrong.
I took a suggestion and used FN+Power to do Hardware Diagnostics which said nothing is wrong.

What else can I try?

A:Dell Inspiron 15 - 3000 series - Beep Beep Beep Pause Beep Beep Beep

I’d suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check if the beep pattern repeats.

Switch off the computer.
Disconnect the AC adapter from the system.
Remove the battery from the computer.
Press and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
Then connect back all the peripherals and check if the beep pattern repeats and reply us with the beep count.

If you still receive 3 Beeps on the system then it indicates System board failure.. You will have to replace it on the laptop.
Please let me know the findings.

I've got a problem which I can't find a cause for. It's like my system hangs for some unknown reason.

At first the display freezes, then the mouse cursor changes to busy, and then eventually I hear a couple of info message sounds and a few seconds later everything returns to normal. There aren't any changes on the screen, no info message windows etc.

The HDD LED on my PC Case is solid while this is happening. I can move the mouse cursor for a while but sometimes it stops responding too.

I've tested the SSD and RAM but no errors were found. I've taken apart my system (reseated everything, RAM, CPU, PCI-E, checked cables).

I would check the Event Viewer but I wouldn't know what to look for.

Any help is appreciated

A:Solved: System hangs and info sound beep. :s

Start Windows in Safe Mode (bearing in mind that third-party drivers aren't loaded in Safe Mode, so some devices will be unusable) and see if the problem has gone away. If it has, it's likely to be a third-party driver that's causing it. Remember also that third-party drivers includes those found in Firewall software, Antivirus software, & CD/DVD-burning software, not just physical device drivers.

If the problem is still apparent in Safe Mode, test the hard drive with the drive maker's diagnostic software. The links are here: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287

Hi, I have pop up error message Unable to cast object of type 'System.Boolean' to type 'System.String'" comes up every time windows 7 started...
So I check the msconfig if some start up software has error but I couldn't find anything.
I unchecked all start up application and reboot it but still have error message.
So I go event viewer then I found the error happened in the same time I start up the windows 7 so this might be the one.
This is info for error I got.

Log Name:Application
Source WMI
Event ID 10
Level : error
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Is there any way to fix this error so that pop up error might stop??
Thank you!

Okay, so, before anything else... I've already gone in and changed my system sounds. Everything but a handful of sounds (Device Connect/Disconnect, Email) have been turned off.

However, whenever I open a folder on my desktop and click anything within that folder - subfolder, back or forward button, the "address bar" (not sure what else to call it - its the bar where your system/folder location goes, like Music > Country), I get this annoying little beep sound like someone hit a high key on a piano.

I only ever hear it when I have my headphones on, thankfully... but it drives me absolutely NUTS when I do have them on!! And I cant find a single thing in Sounds to turn it off. And I wouldn't even begin to know how best to Google it to find an answer that way.

Also, I am aware I can just mute my system sounds (I had it that way before for this very reason) but since Windows Live Messenger is now Skype and does not notify about new emails (nor do they ever plan to apparently), I need my system sounds turned on so I know when I get email.

So, if any one knows how to turn this ever so "charming" notice sound OFF, please tell me. Thank you!

A:Disabling annoying system/folder "beep" sound

Go back into Sounds and under Windows Explorer turn off "Start Navigation". That should do it.

Here is a question I can't seem to find the answer to in the archives.

How can adjust the volume output from my Windows ME machine (with SoundMax Digital Audio) so that the volume of the background music I like to listen to (via RealOne Player version is quiet, but the other important sounds my PC makes (like email or calendar notifications) are loud enough so I can hear them?

I've seemingly tried all combinations of settings for the volume sliders/adjustments, including:

1) The volume knob on my speakers
2) The RealOne Player volume slider
3) The Windows volume control panel "Volume Control" slider
4) The WIndows volume control panel "PC Beep" slider

Even when the "PC Beep" volume slide is set to maximum, and the "Volume Control" slider is set near minimum in the Windows volume control panel, the PC beep is virtually inaudible when the background music is acceptably quiet (by adjusting the RealOne volume slider and/or the volume control on my speakers).

Am I doing something wrong? Is there some other way that I'm not thinking of to boost the volume of the system sounds my PC makes, while keeping the RealOne music volume low?

My X230 gets very little use since I bought it in 2012... sometimes no use at all for weeks at a time. Yet the system board failed, as did a replacement, and now the third board seems to have failed. On startup I get 1 beep, 3 beep, 3 beep, 1 beep and a blank screen. I tried the existing RAM stick in both slots: no startI bought and tried a NEW stick of RAM from Crucial in both slots: no startI tried both sticks in the slots at the same time: no start Other than another bad system board, what could it be? Where can I get a system board that might last? By the way, at the same time I bought the X230 I also bought a T530 that gets gallons of heavy use almost every day and never had a problem that I didn't cause myself.

Hi, I'd like to see if somebody have any idea of what's happening to my sistem: a Medion M3 Composer with Mobo: MSI Ms-7046 socket 775, P4 3.0HT, DDR-SDRAM.
It has been working flawless for about a year, two days ago, I go boot it, and the WinXP splash sceen got frozen. I powered off the PC and powered on again...Single long beep, that repeats regurarly and no video...no boot.

I tried to reset the CMOS by removing the battery. When I powered the PC back on, it shut off immediately and by itself re-powered on after 2-3 seconds doing the same long beep, no boot, no video.

I tried all kinds, removed, all devices, tried one by one the RAMs, installed another CPU, etc. all with no success.

I tried anothe MoBo, but didn't finish booting (!)...it shut off by itself after a couple of BIOS screens...maybe this motherboard is not fully compatible with the system...or faulty PSU???

Unfortunately when I put the orignal MSI MoBo, and put power, I didn't got any self-suts off...but I smelled what I shouldn't have smelled!!!

From my dell inspiron n 5010 8 beep sound is coming, it is a lcd problem as per ur table, but service centre says it is a vga chip problem and quoting for 10k. How to resolve lcd problem?

A:8 beep sound

It COULD be an LCD problem.  Hold the D key through powerup - you should see an alternating series of solid color screens.  If you don't, there's a chance the LCD is bad.
If you do see this - and from the diagnosis you've received, it's likely -- it means the screen is OK and the mainboard may be bad. If the diagnosis did not include replacing the video cable, it too could be bad.
If it did, and it's the mainboard that's bad - given the age and low end nature of the system, you'd be better off replacing rather than repairing it.

Hey everyone. I recently upgraded to Ultimate 64-bit on my HP laptop. I was recently using Dev C++ and when I tried running one of my scripts I noticed that the beeps that I had added wouldn't work. So I checked my device manager and noticed that the system beep wasn't there:

And yes I know that most people try to get RID of it, but I really need it for my programming class.

A:Beep sound is gone!

ok that may be true that your system beep device is not there. So your program does the beep though the pc speaker, the old ms-dos style beep speaker, instead of through the windows directsound api? I'm having a problem understanding why you just don't write your program to use directsound, there's a beep in there that'll work with any machine that has directx installed... well there's more than beeps you can make but all I'm suggesting is that you should write your program the correct way if you're writing it for windows.

I have an intergrated laptop cd/dvd player and burner. Its about 2 years old, and has now stopped working. The last time I used it, about 2 weeks ago, nothing was wrong, but tonight, it fails to read anything, including the drive cleaner. I've already tried as many of the troubleshooter soluations as I can without the documentation or direct internet access. Every time I try playing a cd/dvd it makes one of two sets of looping, mechanical sounds.
I'm running on XP standard, an acer travelmate 2700. All suggestions are welcome!!

Hi,I have tried to upgrade win7 home premium to win 10, but it have failled twice with error. After that I have searched what was wrong and founded out this:I do not know why those errors exist!Thank you for your help!

A:win 10 upgrade faillure

Kyrinia The images you posted are NOT displaying in the forum, so you would have to provide the details of the problems in text forum for them to be understood. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem you're up against is that Microsoft only supplies drivers with the most basic functionality, and what you really need for FULL functionality is the specialized drivers written for the specific hardware found in your HP PC -- and unfortunately, there are no HP Win10 drivers for your PC. HP only guarantees Win10 compatibility for machines made after August, 2013. HP does not have any schedule indicating when, or IF, they will be producing drivers for the older machines. This means that your PC is most likely NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the drivers it needs for full functionality simply do not exist! My own advice is NOT to press forward with the Win10 Upgrade -- free is not necessarily better.  I upgrade 5 PCs from Win7 to Win10 and not only did all of them have serious problems afterward, two of them were reverted back to Win7 -- at the owners' requests. Their view (which I share) is that an older OS version where everything works is vastly superior to a newer OS version where some things are "broken" -- and will never be fixed!Good Luck

I'm not sure you can disable the bios beep. It's there for a reason; the amount of beeps (depending on bios) determines which problem is present. If only one beep on bootup then all's well.

@Benf15 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but according to HP, that error message means that your primary storage drive (i.e., hard drive) is in imminent danger of failing. While it could last for several more days, it could also fail immediately! The more you use the drive, the less likely you'll be able to recover anything on it.So, there are four issues to address here:1) Data Recovery2) Drive replacement3) Recovery Media4) System restoration---------- Data Recovery ----------Your best bet for recovering data now is to do the following:1) Remove the hard drive from the PC2) Purchase a USB-to-Hard Driver adapter kit3) Download and install this utility on a working PC: http://www.majorgeeks.com/news/story/recover_data_in_3_steps_with_minitool_power_data_recovery_free_...4) Connect the old drive to the working PC5) Run the data recovery utility to see what can be retrieved from the old drive. If that tools does not find what you need, an alternative is Recuva: http://www.piriform.com/recuvaAnd, if that does not work well, the best tool out there is this one, but only the trial version is free: http://www.file-recovery.com/---------- Drive Replacement ----------The drive will need to be replaced. Hi Virag22
Thanks for writing to us.
Have you made any hardware or software changes lately?
How many time does it beeps before shutting down.
If possible please record the symptoms and send to us as an attachment.
Meanwhile you can try doing a power cycle by disconnecting the charger and battery, hold down the power button for 15 secs and then plug back only the battery and power up the machine, if it runs fine, again shut down the system and plug in the adapter as well now and power on.

A:beep sound and no display when i turn on my pc

Sounds like a post code. Power On Self Test What is you PC? Company and mod# plus any other details about it.

Also provide the number of beeps and if they are in groups what the number groups are. This is the code that tells us what is bothering the booting process.

A:Keyboard issue and beep sound

I'm assuming windows 7 is on the system ?
First, I'd suggest you run diagnostic tool on the system. It will scan for any possible hardware issues that might be causing problems for the keyboard
1. Power off system
2. Power on system, quickly start tapping F12 key continuously. You should be in the diagnostic screen. After the quick tests, run full tests as well. Please report back any error codes.

Hi Status: I have 400+ HP EliteBook 840 G3 Laptops to prepare for mass deployment  Info: Current system BIOS Version is N75 Ver. 01.05 Scenario: I need to enter the BIOS to enable Password set up, enable TPM, input Ownership Tag, input Asset tracking number. Problem: Everytime I perform the above tasks e.g set up password, it beeps at me, when I confirm password it beeps at me, When I save changes it beeps at me, when I enter the input fields for asset tracking Number and Ownership Tags IT BEEPS AT ME!!! Even saving new changes in BIOS it beeps at me .The previous line of ellitebooks 840 G2/G1 never use to do this. I find its the same the new Elite 800 G2 Towers. Question: Is there a way to Disable this sound without disabling the Error code beeps? or disabling this beep completely  As you can imagine my desktop workstation is right next to the Operations and Project managment team  So before having to relocate my Build desk can we disable this annoying sound?  thanks
