Hi, My Computer a Compaq Presario SR1810NX with Windows XP Home Edition SP2 is having an issue with it wont get past the Compaq Logo Screen, like, I press the power button the PC powers on, Fan Speeds up and then slows down as normal, keyboard lights flash as normal and the Compaq Logo along with the v3.48 and ESC = Boot Menu options appear on screen, the things is that it wont get past this screen, it just sits there at the Compaq screen, the keyboard and mouse dont seem to be interacting with the PC since I press ESC or F10 for boot mode or system recovery but the PC wont answer at all, I've already Disconnected power source unplugged mouse, keyboard all but PC is doing the same thing just sitting at the Compaq Logo Screen, the computer doesnt make any sound at all no beeps or anything, it wont let me access Windows at any time, recent installations well could be that I just installed a Mobile Bandwidth Card just a couple of weeks ago, and also just a few days ago I connected my iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen to the computer and the computer wont recognize it at all, not even charging, I know this might be a virus or malicious software, but my computer has barely connected to the internet in the last weeks (I couldn't pay the Internet and I had to use my friend's Mobile Bandwidth Card I mentioned before) all I did while in Internet with the Mobile Bandwidth was some schoolwork and youtube videos, I need help urgently with this since I have to deliver a very important proyect for school tommorrow if not possible then please educate me on how to remove the hard drive and use it in other computer so I can save the proyect. Also I don't know if this might be the cause sort of a conflict because like 8 months after I bought my computer I installed it a WLAN Card which I have been using in the computer and well this and the Mobile Bandwidth might be making like sort of a conflict I had already tried to boot the computer without the Mobile Bandwidth and the WLAN but no response.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Try a power drain.
1. Unplug power cord
2. Hold power button in for 60 seconds or more then let go
3. Plug in power cord
4. turn on the power and try to boot to setup (BIOS)
If it enters the BIOS then you should be able to just press F5 to reset to defaults and then F10 to save and exit. The PC should work now.
However, if after the power drain you still can not get in the BIOS than there is a MAJOR problem which would require some type of repair.
My Compaq Armada 3500 won't boot past COMPAQ logo. It wont boot to Floppy or CD and I cant enter BIOS to change any settings. I have 2 of these laptops (I bought them both used). My other one had the same similar problem when I got it, but I fixed by removing the cmos battery for 30 minutes and rebooting after I put it back in without the HD in the case. It told me error 162 options not set, and date and time had to be reset, and to hit F1 to save the settings. I did and rebooted. It booted to my floppy Win98 boot disk fine, and then I put in a COMPAQ setup for portables and a DIAG floppy and set it up to boot to multi boot. It runs like a charm now for its size.
But the other one will not accept any of these options although it does tell me the same message after I remove the CMOS battery and put it back in as I did the other one. But when I reboot, it still doesnt see the floppy, CDROM or let me boot to bios to enter setup. It just shows the COMPAQ logo and says "non system disk, remove the disk and hit a key when ready." I have removed the hard drive, removed the CD ROM, and removed the floppy on seperate occasions to see if any of them were the problem, but no change. I took the whole thing apart, and put it back together hoping something would end up being connected to the problem, but it still doesn't change the problem. Next to selling it for parts, any ideas? Its in great shape, has a nice 13 inch lcd and good floppy and cd-roms, and 192 ram.

When I start the computer up it goes to bios screen. It will not let me continue by pressing f2. F1 takes me to help screen, but when I exit that it is right back to bios screen and f2 does nothing.

Ok. Trying to fix a friend's computer, and seem to have run into a rather strange snag. Problem: The computer will not boot past the bios screen. Details: When you power on the computer, the compaq logo with intel inside shows up and has the <F1 Setup> and <F10 System Recovery> options listed as well. And this is about as far as the computer gets. After this the whole computer is just locked up, no buttons work on the keyboard no lights come on the keyboard ect ect. I've tried mashing on the F1 key as soon as I power on the computer and I can manage to get it to say *entering setup* but it still freezes after this point. I've already tried eliminating possible sources of problem, all expansion cards removed, HDD and Dvd Rom disconnected, single memory module (256mb ddr 2700), only power, vga, and keyboard connected. Ive also used the jumper on the motherboard to clear the cmos hoping that would solve the problem, to no avail. I've tried using a different stick of memory and different memory slot as well... Tried using both a ps2 and a usb keyboard... Ive even tried pulling out the jumper for the bios password protection (even though it didn't have a password on it, just trying anything I can think of). The installed bios version is 3.1, and that is about all I know about the computer at this point, other than what the website tells me of it. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/... Read more
Try clearing the CMOS again but this time remove the CMOS battery and hold the power button in for a few seconds. Then replace the battery and try booting up again. On the back of the pc is the PSU condition led green or flashing?Read other 10 answers
Hi...i would be grateful for any help. I will include computer details at the end of this. Yesterday my computer was working fine. I sat down in the evening and noticed i had what looked like a small red checkered pattern on my screen. So i decided to open up my computet...dust it out and check the connections. Upon trying to reboot..it wouldnt come on. I noticed the green light on the back by the power supply was flashing. So i looked it up and followed the procedure to resolve the surge protection loop. (unpluged power cord to mobo..all drivers..etc. ) and it i was able to get the computer to power back on. But then realized that i couldnt get it past the compaq logo page (no power to keyboatd or mouse..so cant get into safemode or bios or anything) . And my screen looked even worse...blurry and jumpy. Then i followed someones recommendation of removing the litium battery to try to reset the bios? Screen is now a bit blurrier and still xant get past the compaq ogo page. Any help please! I really hope im not going to loose everything on my computer!

I have an old Compaq Armada 3500 laptop that I bought years ago to help me through college. After that it kinda gathered dust a little until recently when I wanted to dig it back out and just use it to play a few games on and whathaveyou. It booted up fine when I first did it but it soon transpired that it was absolutely chocablock with viruses and spyware and it was running terribly.
So, on what now looks to have been a foolish move, I did a C: drive format in the hope of popping in a Win98SE installation disc and have it boot from that to re-install Windows.
However, now it won't boot up past the COMPAQ initial screen and a "602: Diskette Read Driver Error" or something keeps flashing up.
Is there any way to get into the BIOS settings to set the CD Drive as the first in the boot-up line-up, or are there recovery discs I can download that'll at least get me into DOS?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Well you should be able to access the CMOS Bios by using either the delete, F1 or F2 keys (sometimes f10). Then under the Bios you should see the Boot Sequence and be able to change it from there. But either way, you should be able to get past the Compaq splash screen. Try setting your boot sequence and see if that helps.
i dont know anything about computers so i will need a detailed explanation and i need to know how to fix it!! it just stays on the compaq screen
Before the problem started was anything added to or installed on the system?
Try booting to Last Known Good or Safe Mode.
Restart the computer during the boot process repeatedly tap "F8" you should get
the Advanced Options.
Let us know if able to get the system to boot with either option.
Regarding Pc will not boot up past the welcome Logo screen. Prior to this it would not start up at all, but would eventually boot up by turning the computer off and on several times. I know it's not the hard drive because I have put the Hard drive in another older computer and all works well. I suspect the CPU or motherboard, but don't have a clue where to start. Or which would be the best to start with.

I bought a Compaq Presario laptop a while ago (at least 2 years) and since then have traded it for something else to a friend of my now ex-wife. The screen quit working for the person so I bought it back for the charger which I needed anyways.
When I shine a light on the screen I can see everything and the computer works fine. What I want to know is if there are any settings on the computer that could be causing it to do this or if the screen is simply shot. Any help would be appreciated; I tried adjusting the brightness from the [Fn] + F7 and [Fn] + F8 keys but that didn't work.
Is there a brightness slider on the side of the screen on that one? Otherwise it sounds like the backlight has gone. You might be able to get that repaired.
My 12 year old daughter was working on her report last night. She pulled a couple of pictures from some website (she is not suppose to do that without me) and went to print the report. It would not print. When she called me to fix it, the computer was trying to install unknown hardware???? Then the idiot that I am, while I am talking to her about the importance of not googling pics without me being there, decides to reboot the computer. I know better than to do this but..... was having a bad day. Let me add that when I asked she said that she got a message from panda but it wasn't red so she didn't think she needed to let me know. I am not sure I am posting to the right forum, but here is my info:
I am running Win XP on a Compaq presario 3045a. All updates are loaded. I run Panda Antivirus + Firewall 2008. It is also current and ran clean 2 or 3 days ago. Frankly I have tried all F keys and nothing works. The cd drive does read but it doesn't load anything. I have tried the Panda install disk (hoping I could scan for virus), Compaq disks and XP Home edition disks. It did not work. I also tried to use an external cd rom drive knowing it probably wouldn't work and I was right. Let me add that I have an external floppy if necessary to fix this problem... Read more
Hi and welcome to Bleepingcomputer. What operating system are you using it is XP am I correct since you posted it in the Xp forum?Try going into safe mode by using the F8 method. If you have any trouble booting in safe mode please read this tutorial:Safe mode Safe mode allows you to get into Windows to remove any drivers or software which you recently installed. Do you remeber any recent programs that you installed that might of caused this?If you can't think of any recently-installed software that could have caused it, then try takeing it to a repair shop or something like that and see if anyone can fix it. This could also be a hard drive failure. Try taping F1 and F8 key again and see if that works, I know that you tried all the F keys but just try it again, you never know... read here for some additional information: http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6035_102-0.htm...ssageID=1348545I hope I have helped you Regards,ExtremeboyRead other 12 answers

So, I have a Compaq presario CQ-60 running windows 7 home premium. I have been troubled by monitor flicker. its seemingly random. happens in pulses. almost like a block or grid flashes up on the screen, and it disappears. pretty frequently. in irregular places at irregular times. like I said, frequent but very random. I have a second monitor connected to the laptop's output, my dell HD 22 from my desk top and there is no flicker seen on that screen. I have opened the laptop and checked for loose, damaged wiring. it all inspects OK. ( I am pretty good with electronics) I am at the point where i am beginning to suspect my inverter circuitry is to blame because the monitor output does not flicker, so that should tend to isolate the trouble to the laptop's display circuitry. right? I figured since the display is bright, not discolored at all, and the inverter is supposedly hi voltage circuitry it just tends to seem logical that it could cause this random flickering because of the voltage or whatever. I tested the ram chips one at a time and they are OK. I also tested the HD with the segate downloadable diagnostics tool, and it passed the SMART test. anyways, anyone care to offer an opinion or question before I order a $15 dollar inverter chip? the computer has 2GB ram, intel celeron processor 900 @ 2.2ghz graphics is powered by Mobile Intel 45 Express Chipset Family (WDDM1.1) driver v. 126.96.36.1999any opin... Hi, I've got a hp/compaq laptop that has been having screen issues for awhile. It started as a couple vertical lines on the right side of the screen and has grown over the past couple of months. My friend said it was from the ribbon cable that connects to the motherboard being pinched or faulty. If I applied pressure in certain ways to the screen i could make the lines go away. So anyway, flash forward to today and I open up my laptop and my screen is a mess of liquid colors. There is a spidering of cracks originating from the bottom of the screen and when I pushed on them the screen proceed to crack all the way across it. There are multiple fractures in there now and teh screen is obviously screwed. My laptop is still under warranty however. I called up tech support and they said they would send a box and I would ship it to hp and it would take 7-10 days and if it was determined that the problem was caused due to an accident they would call me.
My question is this: the screen is definitely cracked, I don't know what happened but I did not physically drop it as far as I know. I don't know what criteria they use to determine this, but I don't want to send my laptop in only to find out a week later that they are saying I broke it and it is not covered under warranty and then charge me an arm and a leg for the service and new screen. My laptop is crucial for my work and I need it serviced as fast as possible, especially considering my desktop just crapped o... Read more

Please can someone offer me advice? Im willing to try a number of things as need this for 2nd year of Uni (computing)
Thanks in advance
You may have to press a keyboard key to enable an external monitor. If you have already done this, the motherboard or CPU may be fried. Laptop motherboards and CPU are constantly subjected to overheating, specially if you place an operating laptop on a bed or carpeted floor often
I've got this laptop and problem is -1. It boots - shows Windows is starting with the logo and the screen goes blank. After that it reboots. It doesn't shuts off. And it's kinda strange, because firts I see logo Q - for Compaq and display then shuts off, then goes up - I see WIndows logo. I can't get into setup. I've checked power adapteer - voltages are OK even though some chinese replacement. I tried without battery - only on DC power and same does it again. Could be this problem with the video? So my laptop's screen is black. I'm using my tv right now with it, it works fine hooked up to a TV. I've tried everything I know of. When the laptop first starts up, It flashes the red compaq screen, then goes black. Flashes the user login screen, then goes black 2 sec later. When I do the fn+f4, the screen flashes back on, everything looks cool, then 5 seconds later it goes black again. It's not just the light, it goes completely off. (Just on the laptop, external monitor works) I've tried restoring back to factory settings, recovery, and I'm not getting anywhere! I've even tried that black screen fix by Prevx. Oh and I also tried turning the laptop off, holding the power button, etc. It has windows 7. CQ61 I think is the model.
I wasn't really sure if this was the right place to post it, so sorry if I'm in the wrong section!

Hi, guys. I want to connect my laptop to my TV screen to watch movies downloaded. I know it has a port to connect to TV and when I plugged it in to TV, it didn't do anything. I've got a Presario 2200 whose screen flickers black and white horizontal lines at some of the angles its positioned at. Usually if I open it up at a big angle it's fine, but as I go more acute the flickering starts. At some point the screen even goes black.
I tried opening it up to see if I could identify anything wrong with the connection but it seems fine. I even disconnected and reconnected the display cord. Still flickers.
Anyone have an idea of what I could do to fix this flickering?
One more thing, which is more my second priority... the wireless networking in the laptop doesn't work. The blue wireless button won't even turn on. What should I check? The wireless antenna cables in the Mini PCI communications board seem fine..

What shows on an external monitor?
So my sisters laptop's LCD screen just stopped working a few years ago and I'm not very familiar with innards of laptops so I just didn't bother with it and it's been sitting in her closest ever since.
Well I finally decided to get around to seeing what was up with it and I ended up taking the entire thing apart piece by piece. Not really sure why, just kinda felt like it. Before I took it all apart though I decided to see if I could plug in a separate monitor and have it work to see if it was a video card issue or not. It worked just fine so it was definitely not a video card issue.
Windows wanted me to activate it for some reason so I tried but my CD key was apparently invalid, so I said screw it and installed Linux, and then took it all apart.
My guess right now is that the LCD screen is just plain messed, or it's a cable issue, the cables looked fine to me though. I'm just posting here because I wanted to be sure I'm not missing something. I've done soo much wandering around Google for answers but there aren't many to be found except everyone else and their mom has had the same issue with Compaq's.
If it turns out the screen is messed then more than likely the computer will be junked, not even worth spending $200 for a new one. So if anyone else knows anything I don't about the situation I'd love to hear it because I'm stumped right now.
EDIT: Sorry about that, will watch myself next time.

The screen on my Compaq Presario C700 has gone green and fractally. It looks a bit like its eaten someones' acid. Not ideal, and is a bit migraine inducing...
It comes back to life if I tilt the screen right back, which says to me its a loose connection somewhere. Its not the motherboard, as I have checked it on an external monitor and is fine...
I have disassembled and re-assembled and its still the same, and now have a query...
Behind the screen, along with the ZIF connector that connects at the top , there is a tiny white plug on a silver cable that isnt connected to anything, and I cannot see anywhere it should live. Is this for a camera maybe, or is this maybe my problem?
Please, any advise would be massively appreciated. The disassembly manual on HPs website was completely useless, it appears to be for a different model than the one I asked for...

Hello, my name is Alexander. I am new here.
I just decided to turn on my laptop to play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight. First I pressed the power button to turn on the laptop and it blinked, the battery light also blinked. As I remember the battery was charged, so I decided to turn it on again. After pressing the button, the COMPAQ boot screen appeared but suddenly all the screen gone gray for some unknown reason. I pressed and held the power button for 10 seconds but nothing happened. Then I removed the battery but the laptop didn't turned off. Now, I leaved the laptop for 3 hours and it didn't shut down.
Last night it worked fine. I was playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 and listening to some Guns 'n' Roses songs.
Specs (Sorry, I forgot the laptop model):
Graphics card: Mobile Intel 4 Series Chipset.
OS: Windows Vista Home Basic.
Hold the power button for 15 seconds or until the computer shuts off. Let it set for a few minutes. Put the battery in and make sure you are using the power adapter too. Start the computer. If it won't boot normally press the F8 key repeatedly until you can boot into Safe Mode.Read other 2 answers

I have a Compaq Presario C300 Laptop which i am working on.
The screen is faint so at 1st i thought it would be the backlight or the inverter. I changed the inverter to a new working one and no change was seen. I then changed the screen to a working one and that still didn't fix the problem.
I have hooked up the computer to an external monitor and it works fine.
I now am unsure what the problem can be other than the cable.
Can anyone else give me an idea as to what the problem is?
Thank you in advance.
The screen on my Compaq is starting to come thru scrambled. This happens all the time. Tilting the screen back and forth will sometimes correct the problem. However, I can only have it about 80 degrees to the keyboard which makes for a sore neck. Does anyone have any solutions? Thanks, Ray
Sounds like the flexible connector between the screen and motherboard has given up, probably with use?
It would need disassembly and replacement of the flexible mylar circuit. Could possibly just be a connection issue at one end or the other, which still requires disassembly.
Working on a laptop is akin to microsurgery, it is very easy to do damage if untrained.

Have got a WINDOWS XP professional disc but won't load as says I need a hard drive? Would this be the next step or should he throw the computer in the bin?!!
The Compaq Presario v5000 series laptop has several models, so we don't know which one you have.
What's the part/product number(P/N) on it?
Start up the laptop, then load the BIOS screen.
Is the hard drive detected and shows as enabled?
hey, i know someon posted a similar thread to this but no one was responding on his.
so i have a compaq presario f500 that wont bring a backlight on the screen and i can tell from the lights just keeps looping the boot cycle. is there a way to make a second moniotor the default monitor via some hotkey? actually thats all i have to ask.
can you describe your problem by providing more data? you mean, that your laptop won't start, or it starts, but you see no backlight? by default, all these quanta models are show welcome logo 2 external monitor during start. and by default, all these model with nv-go6150 northbridge have dead videochip/northbridge
I have a Compaq Presario C300. Somehow the screen cracked and of course was not under warranty. I purchased a replacement screen online and followed the directions to replace. It was relatively simple, however, now when I boot up the computer, the backlight comes on for the whole screen, but shows up blank. Did I just not fully connect something? Is there something simple I can check before I bring the whole darn thing in for service anyway? This is what I was trying to avoid in the first place. The whole laptop was only 800 and the new replacement screen was $199 (as opposed to the quote for $450 I got to have it replaced).
Anyone have any ideas I can try?
You have to make sure you bought right screen for your laptop. Check your connection cable hasn't any damage on it. If it still shows only blank screen, i think not coming enough power for screen (wrong screen).

Anyway I wanted to make sure I could do the swap myself so I unplugged the power cord, took out the battery, unscrewed the panel on the bottom of the laptop case, found the memory chips, took out both chips very carefully, undoing the tabs holding the chips in, took them out, inspected them, put them back in the way I took them out, making sure the tabs on the chips were lined up, maing sure the contacts were making contact. Put everything back together, ordered the new 2GB memory chip.
Today I went to power up the laptop, battery in and power cord plugged in and everything lit up like normal except the screen never came on, the power button stayed lit, the network status light stayed on, the power indicator was lit, two white lights were flashing at the same time every 5 seconds though, which is abnormal, one at the top right of the keyboard which I believe is the Num-lock light and one on the far left of the keyboard which I believe is the Caps-Lock light. And thats it, nothing ever happens it never turns on (blank screen) even after 20 min's. SO I held the power button down til... Read more
I've got it figured out, I just took the 1GB RAM stick out, since I won't be needing it once my new 2 GB stick comes in, and it booted up just fine, tested the same stick in both slots to make sure one wasn't bad and its all good now.Read other 1 answers
I recently installed a Registry Cleaner and installer Eusing Free Registry cleaner and ran a registry scan and deleted the files it determined needed to be deleted. Just before deleting these files i used Compaq Recovery CD/DVD Creator to use cd's to back up my info. I aborted the operation which was about to finish backing up my first CD out of 7 i needed. I got the message that it would resume the next time i ran Compaq Recovery CD/DVD Creator.
After that i downloaded and installed Mozy which is a program that backs up your pc's data and sends it to a remote server. After ending that after a few minutes, i decided to restart my computer. So before the normal boot up screen appeared i got a screen saying:
Press ' R' for recovery options
Press 'I' dont know the key' to format your harddrive it will erase all installed software! a option along the lines of that.
Press 'Q' to exit this menu and boot up normally.
Note it in the Mozy Options it's selected as Automatic perform backup while computer is not in use.
I just want to know if there is anything is wrong with my computer for this screen of options to come up, everything is working fine on my computer.
Maybe it's just because it's making new registry keys although i've restored my old registry now after a few minutes of this new Options screen coming up. Maybe it's the fact that option screen comes up because i used ... Read more
Did you leave the first backup CD in the computer? If yes, then it is booting from that CD.
Hi, I read through the posting and did not see a definitive answer for why my laptop boots to six screens. I am a missionary teacher in Roatan, Honduras and I took it to a tech shop who said it was the inverter but he did not test it and the color/brightness looks fine. I don't want to spend money on an inverter unless it is the problem.
Is there a solution? I tried safe mode on Vista but could not get to the screens indicated. Please help if you know a solution!

My girlfriend has a laptop that she picked up off ebay a COMPAQ PRESARIO F500 SERIES but she is having issues with it, the screen keeps flickering
I have opened it up to check the connections but they all seem fine, I have also made sure all the drivers are up to date and that the system is up to date, but despite my efforts its still happening
in the second half of this video as well as the flickering ( this includes the screen going black ) you can see the colour off at the start up screen, it has also started showing a blue tint lots of times also
anyone have any idea what it could be?
here is a link to a video that shows exactly what is happening http://youtu.be/l4YGsxzi098

Hi...I have a compaq 5108US, windows xp pro.. recently installed a new hard drive, which worked fine for a few months. now when I try to turn on the computer, all I get is a black screen, with the compaq logo, and an immediate blinking cursor in the upper right hand corner. Tabbing f8 etc does not bring me to the safe mode option screen. I had the same problem a few months ago, of which I ended up having a new hard drive installed and that solved the problem. I wouldnt think a new hard drive would go bad that quick (if this is the problem this time). No beeps.. I also installed a new memory board, and it reads 504 memory ok, 164 memory size error, in addition to the black screen, compaq logo and blinking cursor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

hey i recently got a compaq presario v6000 from a friend and when i turned it on for the first time i noticed that it made 3 short beeping sounds which i found out that it doesnt have a bios image but anyway the power light a battery light flashes and then reboots but i cant see anything on the screen at all when its powered on. also the fans power on for at least 2 seconds then they turn off. i dont have a hard drive but i need to at least get to the bios so i can reinstall the os using usb drive.
any help would be great and aslo people have been telling me that my motherboard could be warped how would i fix this without buying a new one because i have no money at all for the laptop.
It looks like you may have Bad Ram: Compaq BIOS Beep Codes - BIOS Central.
Computer Does Not Start and Emits an LED or Beep Code Compaq Presario SR5510F Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English) Or it could be the Video adapter on the motherboard. Try removing one stick of RAM and get to the Bios. You can also download the ISO image for Memtest in my signature burn the image to CD with IMGBurn also in my signature or USB and boot off of the disc and run the tests on each stick of RAM separately.
I was working on a customer's laptop, a Compaq CQ60, that refused to boot into windows and System Recovery disabled all recovery options except for Command Prompt.
On a hunch, after pressing Escape during BIOS boot, I selected HDD Test. The test ran and failed with "Replace Hard Drive." OK.. the laptop sat there for a few minutes and never did anything else, so I tried to get out of that screen. Nothing responded, so I just held the Power button to turn the computer off.
When I pressed Power again to turn the computer back on, the Power and Wireless LEDs comes on, the CD drive is accessed and then the HDD LED lights up for a second and goes out. The screen never comes up nor do the backlights.
I have tried hooking up an external monitor, but that never shows anything either.
I have tried taking the memory out, cleaning the contacts, putting them back in, swapping the modules around, booting with one or the other.... No effect.
I pulled the battery and the CMOS battery, unplugged AC and let it sit for a good half hour. I held the Power button for thirty seconds. Plugged the CMOS battery back in then the AC. Turned it on and still no go.
I cannot figure out WHAT could have happened!? Any other ideas? Thanks...
