The X380 Yoga TrackPoint cap seems to be ever so slightly different from the 260 Yoga and S1 Yoga TrackPoint caps. It's perhaps 1mm shorter. I can't find which part number represents the factory-correct replacement cap for this computer, does anyone know?

Lenovo, I've just upgraded my Yoga 260 to a brand new Yoga X380, which is the most expensive Lenovo computer I've ever purchased since this year's crop of computers is fantastically expensive for some reason.  I really didn't mind spending great money on a ThinkPad though, since it is supposed to be an excellent computer.  I've purchased about 16 of them personally since my first ThinkPad 600E.  However... I'm beside myself with a fundamental flaw in this latest computer: The keyboard and TrackPoint buttons are MUSHY.  That is, the same terrible keyboard and mouse action that you'd get on a Dell or something.  You can feel the rubber movement underneath it.  THIS IS NOT A THINKPAD KEYBOARD.   The trackpoint buttons are mushy garbage, you can't even tell when it is "clicked" or not, they're just soft nothingness. I'm incredibly disappointed.  Can I send this back to you and have you put a REAL THINKPAD KEYBOARD in it?  One that has firm key response?  One that lives up to the ThinkPad name?  I can't stand using this computer with this terrible keyboard.

Follow up to my own posting, it looks like there are Chicony and Sunrex keyboard and mouse FRUs for this computer. Is one of these keyboards the "real" ThinkPad quality I'm used to and the other less so? If so, can I get these parts exchanged?

Hi everyone, pressing [Fn]+[F7] on my X380 Yoga returns to my linux operating system the [win]+[p] keycodes whereas the [F7] key has the icon for monitor switching / presentation setup. Does anyone have the same issue or does anyone know a workaround for this? All the best

Hi Lenovo Community, I'm facing pretty strange CPU Performance problems on the X380 Yoga with i7-8550U CPU. The CPU performance becomes very bad after some operating time. I understand the X380 has a limited cooling capacity, but this behaviour is pretty strange. Environment: X380 Yoga, i7-8550U, 16GB Memory, 512GB SSD, Windows 10 1703 Enterprise, SCCM Driver Package used for image building and installation. Bios Version 1.14 installed (most recent one). Drivers are all checked, and are the most recent version. Speed Step Settings in Bios are on Max Performance, on OS also on Max performance. Running Standard Office applications, like Outlook, Skype, Firefox and some management tools. After system boot everything is performing fine for about 1 hour. (I wasn't able to  record the exact time so far). After this, the system starts to get really slow, and shows a bad response time. As soon as some CPU load is applied, the CPU clock in Task Manager goes down, also the CPU load is not able to reach 100%. The CPU Temperature does not go over about 60 at this point. Directly after the system start it goes up to about 85C. I monitored the CPU with HWMonitor, and put some stress to the Laptop using Prime 95. After some minutes Torture Test I see following values in HWMonitor (see attachment Prime 1.jpg) After about 1 hour run time, I see following: (see attachment Prime 2.jpg) So, the CPU Clock is far down, all temperatures are not really high, no... So i got this laptop during orientation for the college i'm going to. I got excited when i saw the drawing programs on it so that i could sketch anywhere anytime without carrying a sketchbook to classes just in case i had time in between to draw. But the pen doesn't work. I have a Thinkpad Pen Pro, and while it seems charged and sometimes work, it's rare. In the 3D paint program, i can get a quick line out of the pen but not again. It's like the connection with the screen is wonky. How do i fix this?

My new X380 Yoga does not start at all- when hooking on the power the LED light was first orange and now white (assuming it has been charged)- when hooking on the power the red LED light (in the i in Thinkpad logo) on the screen cover lights up. The red LED light on the keyboard doesn't do anything.- Computer doesn't make any sound, no fan, nothing. Tried:- pressing it 5, 10 , 30 seconds, nothing happens.- pressing reset on the bottom (with paperclip), nothing happens. Anybody any ideas, or was it just dead on arrival?

When I write something in Word, the pen starts lagging. The option 'pen' turns off and instead of writing it starts scrolling. I can't write longer than 3 seconds. I don't have this problem with other apps, only with Word.

I'm trying to see how to charge the x380 Yoga through the Ultra Dock we have just purchased. It seems like i need to have BOTH the DOC and a seperate charger connected - is this really true? Thanks for your help in explaining this. p.s. you can't do a Network boot through the ultra dock either, for that you need to seperate mini network cable.

Hello my fellow ThinkPad friends, I know that there are already a couple of threads out there concerning high battery drain when the device is completely shut down, but none for the X380 Yoga yet. In some cases (E-Series ThinkPads), a BIOS-Update was released to solve the problem. I would kindly like to ask the Lenovo team to try and figure out whether the same can be accomplished for the X380 Yoga.  When my device is shut down, it usually drains 10-15% a day, which cannot be a regular thing. Of course, I have tried all the usual stuff: - Windows Quick Start is off - USB-power when off is off- Wake-On-LAN or USB-C is off- BIOS updated to R0SET29W 1.13 If you have any other ideas, feel free to post them. Otherwise, I would really appreciate for a BIOS update that might adress the issue. It is kind of annoying charging your device for the weekend knowing that by the next day, you will already have lost 1 to 2 hours of runtime. Best wishes,Manuel

I have a brand new X360 Yoga to which I added a 128GB micro SD card.  I was just typing on the keyboard when the card just popped out of the slot.  Now no matter how I try it will not stay inserted at all.   I tried the card in another X360 and it locks in fine.  Looks like the slot is defective.

Hello, I am a support engineer for our organization, working on deploying 2000 or so Yoga x380's at the end of the month. We currently have an issue where all of these machines will blue screen if they are shut down. This has only started happening since they were updated to Win10 1803 (1703 was the previous installation, and no issues there) Going back to 1703 is not an option, unfortunately. Hello,I am a support engineer for our organization. I've recently tested 15-20 of our X380's and found that the Integrated camera will not activate, and has an error in the driver, as shown in the attached screenshot. Is there a known fix for this? Installing the driver listed on your site, and any listed in the software matrix for the specified device type (20LJ) yields no different results. And we also have 1500 of these coming this week to be prepped for deployment...Please let me know what the fix is

Hello, I've got a brandnew ThinkPad X380 Yoga and after 3 days of using the pen isn't recognized anymore. I tried to update the driver and first that worked out, the pen was functioning perfectly again and as I checked it's battery it was fully loaded, so it can't be an issue of the pen I guess. But after 15 minutes of using it stopped working again and I couldn't find another solution than resetting and reinstalling the pen's driver so far, which is obviously pretty annoying if you need to do it every 15 minutes. I would be very glad if somebody could help me!

according to August edition, only some 45W and 65W adapters are compatibile? screencap on that section below.is there something special about Thinkpad X380 Yoga power input? we have users who have plugged in the old 90W ones and reported they do charge.[also the 135W (supposedly max to 90W? for power delivery?) come with Thunderbolt 3 dock, but that's different since it is via TB3/USB-C port, not the slim power port] we are curious, should we tell users to stop using the more powerful ones?  it is going to be bit hard to execute, we don't inventory those accessories, it will have to rely each personnel to check what they have (and quite a few bought separate ones for home)

I've had my X380 for only a few weeks now and I noticed it's already getting scratched from being in stand mode. I had an S1 Thinkpad Yoga for years and it never developed scratches from being in stand mode. I noticed that the rubber feet on the palmrest are not the high point but the area below the trackpad is and that's why it's getting scratched.I was thinking if I could get some more of the little rubber feet on the bottom of the palmrest I could maybe double them up to make them taller, but I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know if these can be bought on their own? Or maybe another suggestion to prevent the scratching? I've temporarily stuck some black rubber strips on the feet to make them taller, but it doesn't look that great.Thanks

Dear Community I have problems with the audio on my Think Pad X380 Yoga. The internal speakers and the headphone jack aren't working. I tried to reinstall the audio driver several times. Every time I uninstall the Conexant SmartAudio HD driver the Notebook reinstalls the driver by itself after restart. I also tried to manually install it before rebooting the system. Which worked but didn?t fix the problem.At the moment driver version 8.66.88.50 is installed, which should be the newest version. Does anyone have an idea what I could do? I can see the green audio output moving on the volume mixer in windows.And before you ask, yes I have tried to fix my sound problem with the Lenovo help site (https://support.lenovo.com/gr/de/solutions/ht501860). Thanks for any help!

product website tech specs and datasheet both listed it has Dolby Premium Audio https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-x/ThinkPad-X380-Yoga/p/22TP2TXX380 (Dolby is curiously not listed in PSref audio section for that model like older configurations) i could not find the app that used to come with previous generations like Yoga 370, 260 etc. in the OEM image. it is not listed in Lenovo Vantage app Audio/Video section either (even though the main menu said there where it should) @LenovoUS (twitter) suggests reinstall audio driver the README for Conexant CX11771 Audio Driver, 8.66.88.5010, Jun 2018 https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ua/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-X-SERIES-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-... changelog said that version "... - Added Dolby DAX2 Native Apps to ThinkPad KBL-R platforms ..." still not seeing it. Microsoft store only show some trial version of Dolby Atom for headphone and another app for Dolby Access, i assume neither are what the usually Dolby profile/EQ app is any suggestion, am i missing something?

I received my X380 Yoga with the i7-8550u a couple week back and the first thing I noticed was the fan running almost constantly. I checked task manager and noticed that even though the CPU usage is remaining low, the clock speed is running at around 3.80 GHz.  My power profile is set to balanced with the minimum processor state set to 5%. If I change the maximum processor state to 99% then the clock speeds drop to below the base speed of 1.99 GHz and the fan quites down.  The problem is the CPU will never go above 1.99 GHz when set like this, so performance is noticeably reduced. I've played around in the bios and the only thing that seems to drop the idle clock speed is to turn off Intel SpeedStep which again stops the CPU from going above 1.99 GHz. From my experience with my past computers the CPU should clock down when the load is low. Is this normal behaviour for this computer and processor? I am I missing a setting, or maybe a program or process is demanding full clock speed from the processor? Any help or comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Since lates 1803 Windows 10 update, I can no longer keep the TrackPoint setting disabled on my laptop. I turn it off in the Lenovo Vantage app, but upon next startup it's enabled again. This is incredibly frustrating, as not only do I not use this function, but I have to turn it off because the vibration of typing causes the cursor to constantly drift unless I disable it. So now every time I startup I have to load the very slow Vantage interface to disable it again. Any tips?

I've owned ThinkPad laptops for the past 20 years.  My most recent purchase was a ThinkPad X1 Yoga running Windows 10.  My prior version was a ThinkPad Edge 520 with Windows 7. What I've noticed is that the "sensitivity" option is no longer available for the TrackPoint mouse.  I've attached a screenshot of the old Ultranav utility which allowed for the sensitivity to be adjusted from Light to Heavy touch.  On the new version, there is only the option to adjust the speed from Slow to Fast (which was also available on the prior version). I have no idea what the sensitivity is set by default, but it's definitely not a Light touch.  This is annoying especially if you have to scroll through log pages (web page or documents).  This is a real annoyance because it is so much more diffcult to use the TrackPoint, so much so, I'm debating whether to buy a mouse, which I haven't used in over 20 years. Anyway we could get UltraNav to add that functionality in soon???

On the first boot after being docked to my OneLink+ the trackpoint doesn't work.  It works on the lock screen but once you enter the password and windows 10 boots to the desktop the mouse pointer disappears and does not work.  You can restart the machine and everything works normally.  Has anybody else had this problem and does anybody have a solution to this problem.  My warranty has run out and I can't to tech support anymore. ThanksCharles

Hi everyone For the TrackPoints of older ThinkPads, there are usually three types of replacement caps - classic dome, soft dome or soft rim. I recently bought a ThinkPad X1 Yoga which supports "super low profile" TrackPoint caps if my research is correct. I'd like to try the concave soft rim caps, but in the only super low profile pack that I've found there are only standard soft dome caps. Do soft rim caps even exist in the super low profile variation which fit the X1 Yoga? Thanks!

The trackpoint on my Yoga 12 frequently stops working. Trackpad and buttons continue to function. I am running the latest drivers.  I just received my machine back from the depot and they just reinstalled Windows 10 and the problem is still occuring.  Whenever it stops I can reinstall the synaptics trackpoint driver and it comes back to life.  Sometimes it is only for a minute other times much longer.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

After using the ThinkPad Yoga 260 for about two weeks, both the trackpoint and touchpad are now unresponsive. I've tried updating the drivers, rolling back the drivers and uninstalling the drivers and installing the latest one. None of it works. I managed to get it working once with a BIOS update but as soon as I put it in sleep mode, both became unresponsive again. Under Mouse Porperties the TouchPad option is grayed out and the TrackPoint option is sometimes grayed out and sometimes not. Regardless, it is completely unresponsive when enabled and disabled.

Hello,  I have had my yoga 12 for a couple of months now, and I just recently noticed an issue with the Trackpoint. After using the trackpoint for several minutes, 10-20 mins, the trackpoint will stop working. The buttons and touch pad remain functional, however the red trackpoint ceases to function. The only way I have been able to fix it is by rebooting the entire machine. I have searched around and havent seen a clear solution to my issue. My system spec's are listed below. Hello everyone!  Recently I found that the trackpad and trackpoint would suddenly lose response. The cursor is gone; pressing any button---nothing. But I could still use the touchscreen to navigate and the Windows 10 doesn't freeze.  It happens out of the blue. It has happened two times in 2 or 3 days. Those times I was using my computer broswing the web, unlike others having this issue from waking up. I updated the mouse driver but this issue is still not resolved.  Do anyone has similiar issue? After switching to tablet mode in Windows 10, the touchpad and trackpoint are both disabled. I tried disabling and re-enabling it in the BIOS, no effect. Tried updating to the latest ELAN driver, no luck... in fact, there's no option for enabling / disabling the touchpad in the dialog box, and the ELAN dialog box is just a big blank. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling all Lenovo drivers; no luck. I saw some suggestions that I should disable some sort of Intel sensors in the BIOS, but I couldn't find those settings.  Suggestions?

I bought a Yoga 460 from the Lenovo Outlet (refurbished) and it is completely wrong on specs (wrong graphics, wrong HD, wrong display, etc.). However, moving beyond that for a moment, I am having two issues related to trackpads/trackpoints. I am on Windows 10 and haven't even installed anything. (1) The cursor is arbitrarily moving around the screen. When I turn off the Trackpoint, the cursor no longer moves erratically. (2) Once I turn off Trackpoint, the Trackpad is still super laggy. Moving the cursor across the screen is choppy and slow. The touchscreen, meanwhile, is lightning quick and fine. I updated my drivers and hardware checks out in Lenovo Solutions Center. I am terribly disappointed in the product I have received so far and hope that once I return the product and receive the product I actually ordered.

I'm a big fan of Lenovo's/IBM's trackpoint, but on my new X1Y3 I'm struggling a bit.  Right after switching from presentation mode I can use the trackpoint just fine, but letting go after a short motion, the cursor often drifts in the opposite direction for six or seven very long seconds. In the end it stops, after which it usually works OK. Sometimes this happens twice in a row.  I an familiar with the built-in offset/drift correction. If you move the pointer in the same direction for a long time and let go, the pointer drifts in the opposite direction. That's normal, and a result of some auto-calibration going on, and it stops moving pretty quickly.  In this case though, the drift appears after very short motion, as if the initial drift offset is misinterpreted/miscalibrated, and it keeps going for way longer than I remember from prior ThinkPads. I hope this can be fixed, because I'm a perennial laptop/tablet mode switcher.

After using the ThinkPad Yoga 260 for about two weeks, both the trackpoint and touchpad are now unresponsive. I've tried updating the drivers, rolling back the drivers and uninstalling the drivers and installing the latest one. None of it works. I managed to get it working once with a BIOS update but as soon as I put it in sleep mode, both became unresponsive again. Under Mouse Porperties the TouchPad option is grayed out and the TrackPoint option is sometimes grayed out and sometimes not. Regardless, it is completely unresponsive when enabled and disabled.
