I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Last night, after having left the computer idle for about an hour, I returned to find it partially 'frozen' - at first I could navigate between apps, but not activate anything, and after about a minute, the keyboard seemed to become unresponsive. I did a hard reset (holding down the bower button). When the computer powered up again, it could no longer boot? It continuously restarts, but never makes it past the 'Lenovo'-logo. I have tried holding down f2, f12, f8, delete, and most combinations of these (including fn and alt). Putting in a boot-usb (win 10) does not have any effect, presumably because the computer never gets that far in the start-up process. During the night I let it keep restarting without a power cord in, to drain the batteries, in the hope that this would somehow reset it. That had no effect. I have also tried pressing the 'OKR' button with a paper clip. I can feel it click, but it doesn't solve anything either. I have also tried plugging in a USB-keyboard, and see if the f2,f12 etc had any effect there, but it seems it didn't.  Any there anything left to try?

A:Lenovo IdeaPad 700-15ISK Won't boot up

If that is a recent photo of you laptop in the BIOS, then that is a very good indication that the error is probably NOT hardware related, so sending it in to Lenovo would likely not resolve your problem.     Furthermore, the error you are seeing displayed is coming from the Window Operating system, and indicates that some important system files needed for Windows to start up properly are either missing or corrupted.     Typically such errors are not fatal, and can repaired or restored fairly easily by running Startup Repair, System Restore or running other recovery tools from within Window's Recovery Environment.  The last resort would be to backup any data you have stored on the SSD, and then Reset Windows to the default state or resetting the system to the factory default sate, all of which your IT person should be able to do. The error message usually would contain more information than just "Recovery  Your PLC needs to be repaired", so any additional 0x00000??? error codes or information you can provide would help direct you in the right direction.  Best of Luck,

I'm facing problems with boot menu. Each time when i power on ideapad 700 after long time (ie 2 hours since last power on) boot menu appears with possiblity to check boot device (HDD, LAN, etc). Problem is that pressing enter on any of choices leads back to same boot menu. Laptop startup hangs and only way is to power off by button and power on again. Usually at second attempt all works fine and notebook boots correctly to windows 10.What could be the reason for boot menu always appearing during cold start?Additionally, I have second problem with updating Energy Management driver. When I download new driver from support site and run exe, nothing happens. I see on taskbar that installer tries to start but it cloeses innmediatelly. Thanks in advance for help!

Hey guys, I just got a new Ideapad 700-15isk with i7-6700hq, 8GB RAM and 1TB 5400rpm hdd, installed Windows 7 64-bit and I get really slow boot-ups, of about 2-3 minutes and I also have very high latencies (usign LatencyMon), mostly coming from the network, wireless adapter and video card driver.I know that I should not expect a 10 second boot-up from a HDD, but I think that 1 minute should be a decent time.I have tried the following:-Upgrade from Win7 to Win10(with keeping all my win7 data, now I am currently on Win10)-Disk defragmentation-Memtest86(no errors)I am also planning on doing a clean Windows 10 install.Do you know what scans I should perform or ways to find the source of the problems?

HiSo I wanted to run linux as well as windows in the same ssd, while saving my files in my hardrive. For that, I used 16gb of unnalocated space in my sdd, turning it in 25gb for the OS linux. After that I separated my hard drive in more or less half for windows, half for linux. All of it were not formated. Next I booted withmy usb, and installed linux in the SSD (EXT4 format) "/"format, put the /home in my hard drive space(EXT4), and created a swap area in my hdd matching my ram (8gb).The problem is, when I boot my laptop, it doesn't recognize that linux is installed and goes straight for Windows.  I changed the boot setting in bios to 1st one to boot is the SSD.In the image bellow is the information of my partitions. Hi guys! I just bought an Ideapad 700-15ISK laptop and I wondering if anybody can help me find Windows 8.1 drivers?I was searching on the site several times but I found only Windows 7 or Windows 10 drivers. Also I still have a lot of Unknown Devices in my Device Manager so I would like to fix those drives.I'm using Windows 10 drivers at the moment on my Windows 8.1 what I don't think is good because today I got an error before a forced restart from the system: Kernel Security Check Failure - after I googled it I found that the problem can be a not proper driver. Thanks!

A:Ideapad 700-15ISK / Windows 8.1 drivers?

I can help identifying the "unknowns" but I cannot find 8.1 drivers either.  My thought is it is a downgrade from Windows 10 and would just use the same drivers as 10 since on Lenovo's site there are only drivers for 10 or 7.  Heres how to identify unknown hardware for drivers. In your device manager right click on the "unknown device"Select "Properties"Select "Details"In the drop down box that labeled "Property" change from device description to Hardware ID.Select the bottom line and google that line.  This will identify the component and should show a driver for it.Finding drivers can be quite stressful.  I hope this has helped some.  Good Luck!

I don't think its the HDD because HDD usage tab in the Task Manager never shows high read/write disk usage so it must be the fan.I've searched a lot and it was recommended by many other users to install SuperFan or HWMonitor. I did install both but neither any one of them did detect a fan!I don't know what to do and the loud fan is driving me crazy. If you've been through this please provide me with any tips.P.S. I installed Windows 7 x64 on my Ideapad 700-15ISK, installed all drivers downloaded from the support page but for some reason cannot get wi-fi to work. I see it in device manager (no exclamation marks anywhere), the network interface is not disabled, and yet I cannot search for any wireless networks. I am assuming that the wi-fi interface is actually hard-disabled (via the FN keys; looking at Windows Mobility Center seems to confirm this because it says "wireless off" and the "turn on" button is greyed out and disabled) but I cannot find a way to re-enable it. This article tells you how to re-enable it, but in my case nothing happens when I press FN+F5 (Lenovo utility is of course installed):https://support.lenovo.com/hr/en/documents/ht072689 I'm presuming this is because I don't have Energy Management installed since I cannot find it anywhere (it's not on the support page for the laptop). Can anyone push me in the right direction? Does anyone else have a similar problem? EDIT: the laptop has Intel wi-fi if that matters

The Windows 7 drivers are still there, but a glitch with the Operating System selector doesn't show them separately.  You can still view the available Windows 7 downloads by leaving the Operating System selector set as "Pick an OS."  All the available downloads will be displayed and you will have to go through the list finding the Windows 7 downloads.

I am seriously considering buying the Ideapad 700-15ISK laptop, specifically one that comes without Windows pre-installed (with FreeDOS) and also without SSD pre-installed (just a 1TB HDD). After buying the laptop, I then plan to add a M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (most likely a Samsung 960 Evo 250GB). What would I need to do to successfully install Windows 10 (clean) to that new SSD and then format the HDD (remove FreeDOS) for use as a data storage drive? What do I need to pay attention to or make sure in the process? Thank you in advance for assistance.

Hi,
From the past few days i am trying to install windows 7 x64 on my laptop but during the boot of the installation it shows that load drivers for windows to continue the installation. i have tried numerous methods for the drivers but still no sollution.
I also reinstalled windows 10 on the same system but on that the display starts to fickle as soon as i install the drivers for display.(That i think is some driver issue from lenovo as earlier it was working fine) so finally decided to install windows 7 on the system.
when i start installing windows 7 on the very begining of the installation it says (netstat:windows can not find a network adapter /network drivers )
So can anybody help me in this regard that which are the drivers i should use during the installation and where to find them as these drivers are the installation drivers not the simple .exe drivers.
Thanx in advance

Which drive can i use to finish this installation? What is the make and model of the SSD that you have installed? By the way, do you realise that Microsoft have refused to provide any updates for Windows 7 on systems that have Kaby Lake processors?  Your 510-15IKB has a Kaby Lake processor, so no Windows 7 updates, ever!  I think that you will have difficulty with the Intel drivers too -- they will refuse to install.  I recollect someone fixing that by editing the INF file to fool the system into thinking that the driver is compatible.  I don't remember where I read that, so you will have to search for the details. If you are a small business and you need to use Windows 7 because of a business-critical app that does not work on Windows 10, you should sell your Kaby Lake laptop and buy a laptop that uses the previous generation processor, which is Sky Lake (e.g. a 510-15ISK).  Microsoft are continuing to offer Windows 7 updates for Sky Lake systems (until support ends in 2020). -- from CyberSimian in the UK

I'm thinking the usb ports wont work til I install the usb drivers and neither will the ethernet / wireless. Is the best solution downloading the ethernet driver and burning it to a cd rom? Then once I have installed the ethernet driver and have internet access it should be easy to find the rest of the drivers I need. Will any of the USB's work without drivers? Are there any critical drivers that will need to be installed prior to the ethernet driver? Or can I simply download the rest once I get internet access
