I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello! Part 1: After the latest drivers update (Wacom develops driver for Lenovo Active Pen 2), the long press of the top side button leads to activation of screenshot event (kind of Snip and Sketch). It interrupts any drawing activity. For example, Sketchable application has a color picking assigned to this button, which is interrupted by screenshot triggering. Note: There are 2 side buttons on the Active Pen 2, and the top side button leads to the issue. It's not about usual top button at the end of the pen, and it's not about long tap of the pen itself (that "issues" were found in a huge amounts in the internet). I found that 1. Alright, so I formatted and re-installed my computer because I thought it got chewed up by a virus which is why a certain game wasn't working anymore - later I found out I wouldn't have had to do it because problems in the game were summoned by a broken mouse button...I just can't press it down too hard, then all functions well (if I do press it too hard, it just won't fire)

Anyhow...so that's all covered - but - say...I noticed while playing UT, and a couple other games, but mostly in UT2k4 that something seems to be wrong. Before formatting, the games themselves worked fine - but now it seems that they have serious lag issues (even outside of network gaming).

The model will keep moving (I will keep moving in that sense), even when I've stopped pushing W,A,S,D (one of the buttons primarily used to move around), and as soon as I push down my mouse button to fire all I hear is..."BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP BEEEP BEEEP BEEEP" nothing happens in the game, my model's just aimlessly moving around - and the noise does not even come from the speakers, it comes directly from the PC itself (mainboard I'm guessing it is). But the hardware is fine...so I'm supposing it has something to do with the keyboard or so...

I'm using the Logitech MX518 Mouse, and a Logitech Media Keyboard. After I had deinstalled the Set.Point drivers for Logitech things became minorly better - Hate those things anyway.

So does anyone have an id... Read more

Then I noticed that my right-button will also activate scrolling as well. Is this a hardware issue? I've already tried reinstalling the drivers and played around with the settings to no avail!  Anyone experience a similar issue? Cheers,

Friend of mine has got problem with his desktop (XP SP2) , when he starts the PC it boots normally till it reaches where it shows windows XP logo then the screen gets blank (i.e he can not see the login name for users).

What he used to do: is press the sleep button on the wireless keyboard, then after that press the hardware switch on/off button (not the reset button) on the tower of the hard box.

After pressing switch on/off button, he gets directly (pay attention to this) to the login screen where he can see the usernames for all users.

He has to do this procedure every time he would like to boot the desktop

Hi every one,
Recently I purchased new PC,
After installing windows XP Pro SP3 I found that there is a missing button in Power option properties. The missing button is (When I press the sleep button on my computer), I can find only (When I press the power button on my computer).
My system configuration is as follow
Mother board Gigabyte EP45-UD3R Rev 1.1
My graphic card is ATI Radeon HD 5670
Windows XP SP3
RAM 4Gb Kingston DDRII
CPU Core 2 Quad 2.66 GHz
It worth saying that I can shutdown, hibernate or put my PC into sleep mode, so the functions are working but only the button is missing.
I will appreciated very much if some can advise me how to restore the missing button. Is there some option in BIOS that will enable this button?
I contacted Gigabyte customer support, but they directed me to Microsoft, I also contacted ATI but they directed me to Microsoft or BIOS settings. In my BIOS I can't find any option that may affect this button. Any advise will be appreciated
Best regards

A:[SOLVED] Button of (When I press sleep button) is not available in my Power option pr

Does the case actually have a separate Sleep Button? I suspect it's not even connected, as the motherboard manual doesn't show a connection for a Sleep Button, only a Power Button.
Windows Power Options won't list it, as it doesn't exist.

If you have a Sleep Button on the keyboard, it might not be listed in Power Options either. That would be up to the Driver software to add that option. You may have to use the software that came with the keyboard to configure the sleep button on the keyboard.

I'm not quite sure I follow you.

Are you looking to copy the result of a formula from one cell to another? If so, we're going to need more details from you of exactly what you're expecting it to do. ie. Will it always copy from A1 to F2, for example, or will it always copy from the selected cell to a cell 3 columns over?

I have a custom built computer, been working fine for two years. Comes last week, a storm passed by my house and power went out. When I come home from work I try to turn it on and no joy. I remember that I had 7 years warranty on my corsair AX1200i PSU. So I did a warranty claim, comes today and put new PSU and still no joy. Things I have tried are, re-seat the RAM also CPU, only 1 RAM. And no joy. When I press the power button theres nothing. No lights no leds. When I press the self test button several times, once in a while I see lights and fans working. I tried Memok on motherboard and no joy. One thing I did notice was when I remove the 4 pin CPU cable from PSU, the self test works instantly but the power button still doesnt work. Nothing, also did jumper on power l, reset CMOS. Could this be my CpU fried? Or the motherboard? I still need to take it out from case and check for capacitors etc..

Specs:3930k i7 CPU LGA 2011 6 core.
Asus x79 TUF motherboard.
G. Skill sniper ram 32GB{4x8Gb)

4TB storage drive

258Gb Samsung pro ssd

Corsair AX 1200i

Corsair H100i Cooler.

I think ill just send in the mobo tor replacement since it has 5 years warranty. I hope its not my CPU...

Thanks for the help in advanced.

Greetings. So I recently purchased a used Y50-70 and one of the first things I noticed about it was the left and right buttons on the touch pad require either a strong tap to register, or a long press (about 1 second) before Windows recognizes the key press. The trackpad works perfectly otherwise, even tapping for a left click on the pad itself works great. It doesn't feel like there is something under the button, but I do believe it is hardware related as this behavior persisted through a fresh install of Windows (ie. Windows install when I got the laptop and the reinstalled Windows). It was also present during the Windows install GUI which leads me to think it is hardware related somehow. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I thought this may be a common issue with a solution somehwere on the net but I have yet to find one... Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Ok so here's the situation :

my friend's PC suddenly stopped working something like a month ago. He took it to some local computer repair shop who diagnosed a dead mobo and PSU.

They told him his mobo was now impossible to find and since I could get my hands on one fairly easily he asked me to repair it for him.

So basicly I changed his PSU and ordered a new INTEL D865GLC Socket 478 (his mobo)... I just received the damn thing and even with the brand new mobo the PC does the exact same **** :

I press the power button and absolutely nothing happens, nothing! Even the fans stay idle . What could be the cause? I even tried shorting the POWER SW pins with a screwdriver to make sure it wasn't the case Power Button but in vain.

I tried swapping mem sticks, changing PSU, tried removing HDD, DVD drive and GPU... no help there either.

Could it be a dead CPU?

When I go to Instant Rewards website, log in, and click onto the offers tab, I can then scroll down to the offer I want (ex. freecreditreport.com) and click on it. And from that next page, I am then supposed to be able to click on a green action button that redirects me to the website of the specific offer I chose. However there is no button anywhere that page. In fact there is no button or anything that allows me to make any further action from that page. Once I'm at that page, I'm stuck and can't do anything else but back out and start over, just to run into the same scenario over again! I've done some troubleshooting and I was told it might be a browser issue so I downloaded the latest Adobe Flash Player, changed some security settings and refreshed my Instant Rewards account. One thing that baffles me is that when on AC power, I have to press the power button to "wake" the laptop out of sleep

Any way to set Windows 8 to wake on keypress when on AC power?

Yesterday I bought a "N150 Netgear Wireless Micro USB Adapter WNA1000M", to give it its full name. No, this is NOT an advert, the thing is very small but very irritating - just like the donkey in Shrek. So don't buy one unless you must. No, not an advert for Shrek either - the first one was good but the follow ups were crap.

When I came to install it, after a huge amount of CD drive thrashing (why? my CD reader not good enough for you punk?) it finally gave me 120 seconds to press a button on the router (it also has a tiny button on the thing itself so there are TWO buttons to press)

Some questions:

1. How was I supposed to press a button on the router in a hotel? Especially in 120 seconds. Like a scene in a movie - "we have a 120 seconds before this thing goes off". As it happened, the router in the holiday home we are renting in Montana was accessible and I pressed every button I could see and it flashed in annoyance but the internet connection was finally made. No, this is NOT an advert for Montana either - the snow is crap right now.

2. Why does it want me to press a button on the router? When I first turned on my laptop it didn't ask me to press no button!

Thanks in anticipation

PS You can buy waverings on Amazon. Only kidding, only kidding. And yes - I am irritated at being accused of placing an advert in my first post

By not identifying your HP notebook you are not helping either one of us. Post the product number or the complete product name in your next response. Are you using some internet protection software? Did this happen after some event, such as clicking on a mail from someone you don't know or a website button? I suggest using System Restore and selecting a system checkpoint dated before the issues began. Are you familiar with the system restore utility that is part of Windows? If you are not, then perhaps you should consider using the USB recovery media that you should have created by now. You can use it to return you PC to the state it was in when it was delivered to you. Another option is to use Reset.

I'm assuming that it's in sleep as it wakes almost instantly but simply opening the lid should do that. If the lid has only been closed for a few minutes, it will start up if you open the lid. I have another UltraBook running Windows 10 and you can raise the lid after a couple of days and the computer will come to life but on my new x360 I have to press the power button? Power is set to sleep when the lid is closed.

My aunt got a lap top, can't remember the name of it. It's running win7 64-bit.
When you press the power button, instead of turning off, it just goes into standby.

A:Lapt top goes in standby when you press power button

RB_Kandy,The function of the power button can be changed in Power Options.Start (orb) ->Control Panel -> (view by: large icons) -> Power Options. I'm on a Vista laptop now because I'm travelling, so you may have to hunt a bit; however, on Vista, in the left column of Power Options is "Choose what the power buttons do."In Windows 7, you may have to choose advanced options for the selected power plan, then scroll down looking for "power button" option and set it to "Shutdown."I hope this helps.

A:Windows 7 hangs and have to press power off button

Just after sorting errors in event viewer I found that in this month I am having some kind of event id 41 kernel-power error.
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Now what is this? Is there any problem with the power settings or the AC adapter? Abnormal electricity?
Can anyone help???

Hi!

Okay, so I know so little about tech that I'm not even sure this is a hardware question, but it seems most likely. Basically, I know there's a button on the keyboard of most PCs that stops the keys (or maybe just the mouse?) from working. I only know this because I did it by accident once and freaked out because I thought I broke my new laptop. I want to do it now because I work a lot on small tables, and its useful to be able to highlight over my keys without pressing them all.

I thought it was that button that resembles a rectangle with two small rectangles, like a diagram of a computer mouse, except it has a line over it like a stop sign. On my keyboard, it's over F6. Only when I press it, and when I hold it down, nothing at all happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks guys!!!

Open Powerpoint and search Help for "action button". You can also configure buttons to play a sound, run a program, open a picture, etc.

I've got a 1-2 years old Dell XPS-8300 pc and when I press the button to open the disk (CD) drive nothing happens. The only way to open it is using the Eject function on the computer which is a bit long-winded especially as the Format function is next to it. Oddly if it's already open pressing the button will close it.

Any fixes? The fact that it responds to closing suggests it's not a physical button issue. Could it be having the terrible twos tantrum?

A:Disk drive won't open when I press the button

I have had this problem on many occasions and now have a straightened paper clip nearby to poke into the small hole next to the cd / dvd tray door. Press the eject button on the tray door and poke the clip into the tiny hole this will usually open the drive door which is a hassle but better than listening to the tray trying its hardest to open and failing. If you don't poke the clip in fast enough the tray usually wont open but just repeat with the clip already inserted into the hole works for me. Not very techy but it does the job, you could also replace the drive of course. The clip method only applies if the tray is trying to open, if there is a problem with the pc not doing this then the clip method will not work so sorry if this is the case.
