I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello community, I just received one week ago my X1 carbon 5th gen, P7, 16go, product 20HRCTO1WW, bios N1MET37W1.22. I am a Lenovo fan and I had notably the T400 and the T440s. Since the beginning, I have touchpad issues with my X1 carbon 5th gen: - when scrolling with two fingers, the touchpad accidentally clicks (as If I tapped with one finger in order to click) and I don't recall one session without accidentally clicking on diverse websites and browsers (chrome, opera, firefox). Each session, my touchpad clicks accidentally at least 3-5 times. It is tiring. - I just discovered also that I can't drag something from the corner from the bottom right to the top left corner of my touchpad : indeed, while dragging a folder for example, the touchpad clicks during the course of my finger (even though my finger already press the touchpad in order to drag...). It is after discovering the second problem that I understood that my touchpad has a physical problem. For a very expensive business machine, it is rather unacceptable. I am currently on a trip but as soon as I get back to Belgium, I will ask Lenovo to change my touchpad. I am most angry by the fact that I spent hours to check every possibility to change the options in the synaptics software and the windows precision software in order to stop this accidental clicks (problem one) and up to now I couldn't resolve it. For the moment, I have via synaptics to ignore taps in one edge region of the touchpad in order to scroll without ... Read more

Hi everyone. I'm new in this community. I've been using my brand new Lenovo Flex 3 1470 for a couple of months and everything was running smoothly, i was ver happy with it.I decieded to extend the antivirus coverage for a year (i had a warning of license expiracy for a couple of weeks) and after that, and all of a sudden, my TouchPad stopped working.I'm using Windows 10.PS: I live in Argentina, so no matter how hard I try, Online Support and Phone Support won't give me any possible solution other that flying back to US (where i got my computer) and have it replaced there. (that won't happen). I really need some help trying to fix this by myself. I re-installed ELAN drivers dozens of time with no success.Help me, please!ThxFranco

I have a new Flex 4 1470 Flex pad; a number of problems with it, but the biggest is that I cannot disable the touchpad when a mouse is plugged into USB port. Note, I have already tried the following: -the F6 key does not disable touchpad, as manual says it should;-checking "disable when mouse connected" in control panel does nothing;-uninstalling ELAN touchpad driver w/o deleting driver does nothing;-uninstalling ELAN touchpad driver AND deleting driver does nothing; I get message to reboot computer, and I do that, but the driver refuses to be deleted; its always there again;-I've updated ELAN driver so that it is most current available, per Lenovo and Elan sites. Other oddities, like the windows screen saver/timeout feature does not work, either.

I've seen a few times where I have not used my Lenovo for a several minutes it will go into "sleep mode" and I have to hit the power button to open it again. But it is asking me to sign in. I have to turn it off by holding the power button and then turn it back on. And then it will start showing my normal desktop. How can I stop that "sign in" from showing? I never created a password and didn't think I need to do that.
Can anyone help?

In Sign In Options it has "Password.... Your account doesn't have a password. You must add a password before you can use the other sign-in options."
Whatever that means???? I never created a password and don't understand why it is asking me to "Sign In" when I turn in on from the Sleep mode.

Does anyone have a Lenovo - Flex 4 1470? (Win10/64bit) I bought mine in July 2016 and yesterday when I signed on I got a pop-up from Lenovo telling me about a "critical" Lenovo update. I am pretty sure if was referring to BIOS update = v.0vcn.22ww / 120 MB.
I clicked for it to install and then another pop-up saying something about it (possibly) changing binaries, etc. I didn't know what that was all about and so I cancelled the downlod.
Today I phoned Lenovo and spoke to a woman who said "they" didn't recommend downloading/installing updates to BIOS unless I was having problem with this laptop.
As I asked, does anyone else have a Lenovo Flex 4.1470? If so, did you get this critical update notice and if you did, did you install it?
I am 81 years old and know nothing about these things and wonder if I should just forget about downloading the BIOS update? Or whether it MUST be downloaded for this Lenovo to operate properly.
Thanks for any help.

I am a writer and I use the keyboard almost exclusively so I need the touchpad almost NEVER.  In the absence of a keystroke chord or a set of strokes, I have to open Settings to get to Touchpad and Disable it.  Having Lenovo Settings out of order for so long is a major bummer because my fat hands continously mark large portions of text and when I hit the wrong [right?] key, ZIP the text goes away. If I'm not paying attention, that portion of my deathless prose is lost.   Hey! It happens.  OK? No, seriously, my warranty is about to expire and I would like to know if this thing is going to be fixed, or is there a set of keystrokes to disable the touchpad - like there should be?  Thanks guys.  I'm at laeva65  at  gmail Jack in Phoenix AZ

Hi, I changed my notebook's HDD for a SSD since the old one crashed. The Windows 10 install went fine, everything works, but the keyboard is recognized as a regular keyboard. As a result, the control/function keys are not recognized properly. Volume control works, brightness works, but plane mode (F7) and mic mute (f4) don't. It is not a big deal, but since everything else works, I would love to be able to set that up correctly. Am I missing something? I downloaded everything I could find in the Lenovo Support Page. Thank you

My ~2 week old Lenovo Flex 5's screen started to flicker a few days ago and the issue has become progressively worse since then to a point where most of the screen is covered by black flickering at times. The computer starts fine, but when the computer is moved and especially when the screen is moved up or down the flickering appears. Sometimes the flickering only starts after the computer has been on for a few hours (restarting the PC fixes the issue for a short while). I have tried updating to the latest Intel graphics drivers in the device manager to no avail. I then tried uninstalling the display drivers from the device manager, that only seemed to work for a short while. Is this a faulty screen that should be RMA'd immediately or is it likely a software-related issue?

I have a year old Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4-1470 laptop.  The computer works perfectly, however the touch screen does not work all the time.  Some of the keys on the keyboard won't work, some areas of the screen do not register my finger everytime, etc.  I took it to the place of purchase (Office Max) and they ran a diagnostic check that came up perfect... the computer is working like it should.  I have a warranty on the computer for 3 years trough SquareTrade.  I don't use the touch screen really at all (only use it because it's there), but I'm annoyed that it doesn't work correctly because it's only a year old.  Any suggestions on a fix?  I can't find a calibration reset for the touch screen or any kind of up system reboot.  Any help will be appreciated.

Have had a Flex 5 1470 for 2 weeks and today for several hours I ran into this issue where whether it was connected to power or working on battery power I could use the laptop only for around 3-4 minutes before it woud unexpectatly shut off (literally an immediate BLACK screen). I could then power it back on and continue to work for another 3-4 minutes before this would happen again. I downloaded a CPU thermometer and heating was not the issue (was operating well below the operating temperature for the i7).  Any ideas of what was going on? What might have caused this issue and more importantly how to resolve this issue? Your feedback is appreciated!

Hi all, I have owned a Lenovo Flex 4 1470 2-1 for about a year now. At the beginning of this year, I noticed that my keyboard and trackpad had been disabled. I quickly realized that they would be promptly reactivated when I switched into a tablet position. Occasionally, upon restart or resetting the computer, the normal keyboard/trackpad function will return. Every time this happens though it rarely lasts longer than a day. Sometimes, it has returned even when I did nothing to fix it. Sometimes, if I held my laptop at a certain angle, or applied pressure to the base of the laptop, the function would return momentarily. Overall, the tablet/laptop hybrid function has been acting erratic and unnatural. I have already tried restarting my computer, reenabling the trackpad in lenovo's settings application, resetting my PC(both without removing personal files and removing personal files) as well as running countless virus and malware scans. I would return it to costco where I purchased it from, but my laptop is very important to me and Costco typically ships it out to the manufacturer for troubleshooting. Returning to Costco is a last resort that will be time consuming and cumbersome to my work and school.  Please help, I have been using an external keyboard and mouse for much too long.  Again, for reference, I own a Lenovo Flex 4 1470 running Windows 10. Thank You!

Hello, I have had my Lenovo Flex 4-1470 laptop for about half a year now, have always taken careful precaution when carrying it, etc. Recently, Upon touching the touchscreen on the right side and bottom of the screen, I am experiencing these "ghost" or "phantom" touches where I touch that part of the screen and it presses on a random part of the screen. The middle and left sides of the screen do not seem to be affected, however, the top of the screen seems to refuse to calibrate to my finger correctly despite calibrating the screen many times. I have updated the touchscreen driver to find that I already have the best and newest version so that cannot be my issue. I have seen that this was a common issue on the Yoga 3-14, and that there was a firmware fix to this... So far the only "fix" I have seen to this issue is disabling the touchscreen altogether, but I bought this laptop specifically for the touchscreen capabilities. I have not physically damaged the laptop, so I am curious on why this is happening.  Is there a firmware fix or something to that extent or will I have to send the laptop to Lenovo and get it repaired? Any Help would be appreciated --Kaitlyn

We just got a Dell XPS-15z, and, we have questions about scrolling on the Cypress touchpad using the Cypress drivers.

When scrolling down (either one finger or 2 fingers), when you hit the bottom of the touchpad, is there any way for the scrolling to continue without your having to lift your finger(s) back to the top of the touchpad? On other Dell laptops, I have Chiral motion, or the scrolling continues so long as your finger is at the bottom of the touchpad? I tried enabling the "Continued Motion" option just in case that was what did it, but that did not seem to work.

Which brings up another question re what "Continued Motion" does.

Also, is there any manual/help document for this driver either on the internet, or in the software itself?

I looked on the forum and on the internet, and couldn't find any answers.

TIA.

Hi All, I have a Lenovo Flex 5 on Windows 10. I am experiencing lagging issue using the touchpad. Description of the issue: When I want to move my pointer on the screen from point A to point B, I move my finger on the touchpad from point A' to point B', respectively. When my finger arrive at point B', it takes a noticable amount of time for the pointer on the screen to arrive at point B. This makes it very hard to navigate, especially when I want to press a small button or to draw. I do not experience this lagging if I use an external mouse.I am pretty sure this lagging is on by default as some graphic effect, because the lagging disappears whenever I run some heavy program. Can someone help me with this? Best regards,

In just 2 days of laptop usage, the mouse pad has come out. The amazing service center in India (ticket no. I hate it and thinking of returning this powerful machine only because of this. In system information this what is shown Hardware Type HID-compliant mouseNumber of Buttons 0Status OKPNP Device ID HID\WCOM50E8&COL06\5&11E08167&0&0005Power Management Supported NoDouble Click Threshold Not AvailableHandedness Not AvailableDriver c:\windows\system32\drivers\mouhid.sys (10.0.15063.0, 32.50 KB (33,280 bytes), 3/18/2017 4:56 PM)Hardware Type HID-compliant mouseNumber of Buttons 0Status OKPNP Device ID HID\ELAN0650&COL01\5&E8D1288&0&0000Power Management Supported NoDouble Click Threshold Not AvailableHandedness Not AvailableDriver c:\windows\system32\drivers\mouhid.sys (10.0.15063.0, 32.50 KB (33,280 bytes), 3/18/2017 4:56 PM)Hardware Type HID-compliant mouseNumber of Buttons 0Status OKPNP Device ID HID\VID_046D&PID_C52B&MI_01&COL01\7&E5D3B9D&0&0000Power Management Supported NoDouble Click Threshold Not AvailableHandedness Not AvailableDriver c:\windows\system32\drivers\mouhid.sys (10.0.15063.0, 32.50 KB (33,280 bytes), 3/18/2017 4:56 PM)

This morning my laptop touchpad was really slow to respond and then suddenly went away. I restarted and when it came back it was jumping all over the screen. I have now disabled it.Is there a solution tot his, or is it hardware. I have installed the latest touchpad drivers and it has made no difference. Advice? Any solutions?

I have recently bought this model and having a problem with the touchpad. Instead of scrolling it will randomly cause the page to zoom in or out. Which is getting rather irritating. Could someone please tell me how I can disable this function. Many thanksModerator edit: Matched subject to content

A:Lenovo Flex 2 14 touchpad random zoom problem

I'm having this issue as well except on my Yoga 2 Pro. I have the pinch to zoom feature disabled (which is frustrating since it's a useful feature). Usually it zooms in when scrolling down, often to percentages between 800 and 900% view.

I have a LeNovo Flex 3 1480 [80R3] for about a year with zero problems. The only modded thing is a Sandisk 480gb SSD drive, with a Windows 10 installation from scratch, installed in the very first day I bought this machine. I was running Windows 10 version 1607 normally, and really enjoying this machine, but since last week when I was booting up, the machine freezed at bootscreen (the one with the lenovo logo) and then restarted showing the message "Preparing Automatic Repair" that took almost a whole day to pass. The repair never happened and I had to use the option to reset windows maintaining my personal files. After this everytime I boot up, windows 10 take up to 10 minutes to boot, and my keyboard and touchpad won't work, leaving me with only the touchscreen option. I've been through a lot of different solutions attempts:- Upgraded BIOS to the latest version (Lenovo colored logo at bootscreen)- Uninstalled KB and Touchpad drivers manually and reinstalled with Lenovo provided drivers, and also repeated the procedure with Windows Update drivers.- Disabled the fast startup option- Done the 15s procedure with the power button- Deattached the battery plug for some minutes and reattached- Checked (unplug and replug) both KB and Touchpad flatwires- Reinstalled the latest Windows 10 version 1703 from scratch None of the solution mentioned above worked for me. KB works perfectly in BIOS, and even when booting up I can change de backlight settings usi... A:LeNovo Flex 3 1480 - Keyboard and touchpad issue after Windows 10 boot up

Adding some info after some new research. Will try other 2 slightly different options:1) 15s power button trick with battery and charger unplugged2) Installation of LeNovo provided Intel ME drivers, read some info that it might interfere at the keyboard and mice functionality. Actually I'm running Windows chipset provided drivers. But still in doubt, which available driver should I install? There are 2 available.1) Intel ME Driver 63.6 MB Windows 10 (64-bit) 11.0.0.1176 - Release 30/8/20162) Intel Management Engine Interface Driver 81.5 MB Windows 10 (64-bit) 11.6.0.1015 - Release 29/11/20163) Both drivers, in release date/version ascending order.
