Internet Explorer 11 TLS Error

Q: Internet Explorer 11 TLS Error

I have a Windows 7 Pro, IE11 user who just started getting the "Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2" error when trying to go to our corporate site. It worked just fine for her on Monday, yesterday the error came up. No updates of any kind have
been done to the PC. Other IE11 users in the company are able to connect to this site. I've tried all the fixes mentioned (checking SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0, using compatibility mode, resetting IE settings, etc.), none have made a difference. Tried Chrome on the
same PC, that failed too. Any other options I can try?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi.. I don't know if this is the right section, please correct me if it's wrong. Here is the problem:

My Internet Explorer 7 gives the error: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". I cannot complete the troubleshooting. It states that there might be a problem with my firewall settings. But my Firefox works perfectly on this computer. I have completed all the steps given in this link. However, it didn't work. I cannot run MSN right now because of this. And this is not a problem that developed recently, on this computer I have never managed to run Internet Explorer.

And another point to mention: Whenever I try to visit a site via IE7, before giving "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error, on the status-bar I see a warning for a second such that a "dns error" or something.

I have also searched this forum for this, I have found some posts consisting HJT logs but could not reached a solution for my problem. Could you please help? Thank you.

Hello everyone and thank you for participating in this wonderful site.

My computer is a Pentium 4, 2.80 GHz, Running Windows XP Proffessional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.
The problem I'm writing about has been there for about a year. All in all it's the same prolem ever since, but every once in a while some detail changes, like a new error message.
Every about 5-15 minutes the Start Menu Taskbar and the desktop icons disappear (Explorer crushes). Most of the times they reappear shortly after, but sometimes they don't, and then I use task manager to run explorer and then they reappear. Yet, sometimes the computer stucks altogether, and I have to restart. In addition to that, many popups open when I surfe the web using Internet Explorer. The popup changes every few days, but in between it's always the same one.
Another point is that while the crushing of explorer can occur anytime, it most often occurs while I open or close Internet Explorer windows.

Sometimes I get an error message, and as I said, they change from time to time. But still, here are 2:

Dear Tech guys,
I badly need your support. Day before yesterday (01-Aug-06) night I upgraded the yahoo toolbar and used their norton anti spy to scan. Then I shut down the system and started to work the next day. Every thing is perfectly ok except for one thing. In Windows Explorer, on any folder or drive if I double click or open I get a crash. If I do explore then there is no problem.

Below is the dialog that comes whenever we double click or open (for eg: on C:\ or any folder in the left side pane of the windows explorer. If I just keep expanding the + of the tree no problem, only on clicking the item to open the following error occurs.)

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

program: C:\Windows\Explorer.exe

This Application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I am running on Windows XP SP 2. I dont have google toolbar. I have yahoo tool bar installed. I have tried uninstalling it and installing it again and other combinations as well.

I have also tried sfc /scannow as well. It did not work.

It doesnt look like any adware or spyware (yahoo's norton spyware had done a complete run and no problems in the system as reported by them).

What should I do now to get back to normal operation of windows explorer.

Thanks and Regards,
Naga Kumar S

Last week my computer had a virus that I successfully removed using Malwarebytes. Since then I have been unable to access the internet using my default browser Google Chrome (instead I receive a 'This Webpage is not available.' message with the error: Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error.

Or with internet explorer where the following message is received: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

Yet it works fine with Firefox. I then tried signing in via Windows Live Messenger where it failed and upon doing the connection troubleshooter received an exclamation mark next to the proxy and key ports sections.

Is there any way for me to fix it so that I can have normal internet access? One major problem right now is that I cannot even upload pictures via Photobucket or even e-mail where Google Chrome gives the message: Attachment failed. This may be due to a proxy or firewall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,
In our org. recently the intranet portal is being launched having webpages built using Html5 & CSS3, everything seemed to be working fine until we had this issue of printing via all Internet Explorer browser version.
Issue Description:
Couple of symptoms of the issues when trying to print.

The printer name is invalid (res://ieframe.dll/preview.js)The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable (res://ieframe.dll/preview.js)Whenever print is fired the printer goes in hung state, we have to power off and power on the same
Observation:

The same webpage when we try to print using Mozilla firefox / Google chrome there is no issueThe print model is HP LaserJet M4345 MFP seriesThe printer is installed using TCP configuration on member server and the printer is shared for client PCs(Windows7/8.1)As soon as the print is fired on the server where printer is configured observe event ID 10 which states print was successful

Document 161, URL - website owned by UserA was printed on HP LaserJet 4345 mfp - IT PCL 6 via port IP_10.14.1.132.
Size in bytes: 499992; pages printed: 1
We also tested the print on several other printer model like Lexmark and the issue is same.If the printer is configured locally using USB and tried to print ? print is successfulIf we print to XPS doc, it prints properly using IE for that pageTried to trace what?s happening using netmon when print is fired using IE and below is the screenshot

Hey,

Got this posted on a few other forums, so i'll just copy + paste it and list what i've tried so far.

SUMMARY OF PROBLEMS

UPDATE: The main problem at the moment seems to be linked with the Inetcpl.cpl in C:\Windows\System32

- Cannot open Internet Explorer: When I open IE 9, the process appears, and internet explorer starts up. As soon as the tab for my homepage loads, IE closes straight away, and leaves behind the download manager for IE, asking me if i want to download my homepage.

- Cannot open Internet Options through control panel: When i go to Control Panel > Networking > Internet Options and click on it, nothing appears on screen, no matter how many times i press it. Same thing happens with IE > Tools > Options; nothing appears

- Cannot open Skype (I found this was linked to the IE problems): When I open Skype, the login page stays on a white screen, and i am unable to click anywhere on skype / close it, I have to force close it by ending the process (Temporary solution found, look below)

- Cumulative Security Update for IE 9 won't install (Windows Update): This has been an on-going problem for around a year+ now, but still relevant. Whenever my Windows Update has a Cumulative Security Update for IE 9, I try to install it, however it fails and says updates were not configured correctly, reverting changes The error code I get is: 800719E4. So I've been trying to fix this for more than 20 hours now and I haven't made the slightest bit of progress.

The issue:

The update "Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 x64" fails with error code 9C59. Currently installed is IE9.
The update "KB2670838" fails with code 80004005. Google reveals that this update is a requirement for IE11.
After attempting to install such an update, "TrustedInstaller.exe" remains active with high CPU usage and high and steadily increasing memory usage. I think I know the reason for this. The "update posting information" thread tells me to post the folder with CBS logs. However, after I try (and fail) one of the two updates (or both), the CBS.log file keeps increasing with about 1mb per second which never stops, eventually growing to many gb. I think this is the reason for the "TrustedInstaller.exe" CPU usage and memory usage.

Because of this problem it's hard for me to send you CBS.Log because it's far too big. Thus, I'll attach a zip containing one of the "CbsPersist__.cab" files instead - most of them were still too large. I also included 3 other files found in C:\Windows\Logs (not in the CBS subdirectory), they're related to IE11 so I thought they could be relevant.

Things I've tried:

sfc /scannow; gives no errors at all, no integrity violations found.
chkdsk /f; took around 4 hours, changed nothing. As far as I could tell it didn't find many issues.
System update readiness tool; c... Read more

My OS is windows home edition, IE 6 and Outlook Express.
These are the programs that came with my Toshiba Satellite notebook which I purchased in 2005.

I did a scannow and that did not fix the error.
I also did a msconfig and checked the startup programs and there did not appear to be anything unusual there.

The notebook is kept updated with the security programs daily and as well scanned and checked by our office techie.

I hope that someone can help me out of my dilemma.

Hi LakeworksYou are running HijackThis from a temp folder. You will need to move hijackthis.exe to a permanent folder, such as c:\hjt . This has to be done as HijackThis creates backups when you fix items. These backups could easily get deleted in a temporary folder.First create a new folder:A. Click My Computer icon on your desktopB. Click C: driveC. Click the File menu --> New --> Folder, a folder "New folder" will be created.D. Hello All!
I am hoping to get some help here. We purchased several new hp that run windows xp. I have swapped out 3 so far, and followed the instructions to hook them up to my network (which is fine) but I cannot get out onto the internet now. I have looked at my other computers that have not been swapped out yet and that have internet access and there doesn't seem to be any difference in the internet or network properties. Does anyone have any ideas? I have been trying to fix this off and on for over a week and needless to say am getting a little cranky. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I seem to keep having this problem with the pages not loading completely after a while(20-30 minutes) of running IE5.5 on my AMD K6-2 450 / Win98 SE / 64MB / 8MB video / DSL
I've deleted my temp files, cleared history,
set it to use up to 650 MB of storage area.
I've enabeled several different combonations of settings, and then restored defaults.
I've repaired IE5.5 and will try reinstalling it. Is it possible that my Antivirus software is causing this problem? I use PC Cillin and it has somthing called web trap. The reason I sak is because I've talked with a few of my friends who are having the same trouble and they are using the same software combonation.(IE5.5/Win98SE/PCCillin)

Never mind! I was right. this web trap within my antivirus software was causing the problem. I disabled it in msconfig>startup items and I have no problems since then

Hi,

My internet connection was established today, and seems to be working fine - until I click on something like myspace or facebook, whereupon I am told that internet explorer has stopped running and will close. I am then offered the options of exiting the program, or searching online for a solution (which does nothing). Hi GWFHegel,

Welcome to the forum.

You may have a add-on that is misbehaving in Internet Explorer (IE7).

In IE7:
NOTE: In Control Panel (Classic View) click Internet Options.
1. Click Tools - Manage Add-ons - Enable or Disable Add-ons
2. Highlight and Disable a add-on, one at a time, and test to see if IE7 works ok until you find out the culprit.
3. Just Enable the add-on back if that was not the one causing the problem.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Just when you open one particular site, or any site?

The error message is unhelpful, probably any of 1,000 reasons.

Do a system File Check.

Start - Run -
type into the Run dialogue box
SFC /scannow
and press Enter. Note the space after SFC.

Should take several minutes to check all files. If entered correctly a dialogue box appears and shows the progress.

For the past couple months, my computer has been really messing up. It got so bad that I had to take my comp. to go get fixed. They said I had so many viruses they had to completely clear the hard drive. They installed Trend Micro Internet Security 2007 on the comp, but it seems like it just gets in my way and is not working at all. After I got my comp. back, everything was fine for maybe a few days to a week. After that, a new problem developed that I cannot stand. What happens is, whenever I get on the comp. and look at any website--it doesnt matter what kind it is, I will be able to stay on until it freezes up--sometimes after a few minutes, other times after like 20mins. Just out of the blue, the website will freeze and I will have to Alt, Ctrl, Delete and end the task. I probably have a ton of viruses again, but how am I getting them and how can I fix this irritating problem??

What version of IE are you using?Did you have the AOL toolbar installed and then remove it? It sounds like an AOL site was your homepage and since the toolbar has been removed the path leading to that page results in an error message. For IE6, right-click on your IE desktop icon and under the General Tab, what does it say for home page in the address box? If it has anything with AOL listed, click the Use Default button below. Then go to the home page you want to use, click on Tools in the top Menu > select Internet Options and under the General Tab, click the Use Current button.

I am having an error pop up in Internet Explorer when I go to certain sites and also my images or links will not load up. I saw a similar problem to my own already posted and a print from hijack this was needed so I have it here and will post it. The error is "An error has occured in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will now close. If you continue to experience problems, please restart your computer." But obviously when I restart my computer the probelm is still there. If anyone could take a look at my hijack this report and see if they can figure out what is wrong it would be great.

I am running Windows XP Home Edition on a Dell with 256 Mb RAM
