Solid Edge V12

Q: Solid Edge V12

Hey ya'll, I'm currently running an older version of Solid Edge. I have a pretty decked out computer and video card and for some reason when im viewing some 3d rendered objects, when im moving them sometimes it will slow down a bit, stop, then catch up with itself.
It's kinda begining to be a hassle, anyone know if why this might happen.
my video card meets the standards that the program requires to run all 3d models.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Solid Edge V12

How much RAM you have in the "pretty decked out computer"? Plus when did U defrag the PC last? Scan for Spyware?

What amount of hardisk space you have free?

Really if U post more info., it makes it easier to respond.

Good luck

Does anyone in here still use SE v12 or at least HAVE used it and might be able to offer up some assitance with it.
I have a 3ghz/1gb/matrox parhelia128 computer that runs it great for the most part, whenever i go to rotate the 3d model, after say 20 seconds of rotating it sorta just freezes for a second or 4
sometimes for longer.
our support for SE is nonexistant and the phone service is giving me the run around, so getting an update is just about short of impossible. how is v16?

Is it backward compatible? If i use v12 to make something, and have someone using 16 open it, would it cause problems for the document?

A:Solid Edge V12

I'm sorry I can't help you with your problem, but I found this thread through Google, and I'd like to ask a question about a problem of my own, which is a bit similar to yours...
I just started at Helsinki University of Technology and I have a machine design course where we use Solid Edge v15... The university has an academic license for it and they are giving it for the students to borrow home so they don't have to use campus computers to do their works for that course. I borrowed it, of course, but it says it won't install, cause the program is for win2000 or XP only... I have windows 98...
Does anyone know what is the latest version of SE that supports windows 98?
And if so, I repeat the question of the previous poster: Does v15 have backward compatibility? We're not using very advanced features, so I think I might be able to do my work with an older version...

When I install Solid Edge everything goes find but in the end Removing temporary files used just keeps loading... I ended setup process and Solid Edge works fine, but now if I try to install any other appliaction its says: Another install process is paused, and it then it gives me option to remove solid edge or close setup of new application. I have tried running in vista sp1 mode, as administrator, but still the same, so is there any way to somehow end the install.

Thanks

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm gona roll back to vista, too many problems.

A:Problem with Solid Edge

If you kill the process "PrinterInstaller.exe" the installation will continue and you will be able to use Solid Edge. The problem is that you can't install any MP on top of this installation.

Hi,

Quick info on my setup:
q9450 @ 3.2Ghz
4gb Corsair @ 1600mhz
BFG H20C GTX 280
W7 64bit Clean Install

I cant get Solid Edge running well on my pc. Its so jerky and not smooth though I have had a slightly older version that worked fine. Thinking it was just bad software I managed to get a copy of their latest version ST3 which runs just as bad. All drivers are up to date. WHAT WRONG WITH IT ??

Cheers,

I've got a Matrox parhelia 128 video card, and a gig of ram. p4 2.4 ghz running. It all looks great until i get to moving a part around in assembly and BAM it freezes up. Is there something i can use to find out WHY its freezing up. Inititially i thought it was ram, so i replaced the ram and now that the ram checks out sometimes it just dies on me.
Do you guys have any troubleshooting tips for me?

Hi
I used to run Solid Edge version 20 fine on Windows 7, but I want to install the newer version called SE2, but when I start the installation it keeps saying that the old version has not been uninstalled...even though it has. I cannot find any solid edge files anywhere on my computer, I have even gone through the registry and deleted all the Solid Edge instances. Now I am out of ideas on what to do next, and I really need this program asap.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Having trouble installing Solid Edge SE2

I have both Solid Edge ST2 and V20. Both work fine with my xp system but I am actually having trouble installing V20 with my w7 system. The setup wizard seems to "jam" after it removes backup files. I can use the software but after restarting the computer it seems to uninstall itself. The only way I can exit the window is to use the task manager. Did u have this problem when installing V20 on your windows 7 system?

Hello - I'm tired of sluggish performance when booting/waking up, and think replacing the unimpressive hard drive with a SSD will help. Does anyone have any tips or advice for how to best install an SSD, including what size/type i'll need to buy and how to best install it? Thanks!

A:Edge 2 1580 Solid State Drive SSD

Get the right size SSD. Since it's using a mechanical HDD it's 2.5" SATA SSD you'll need. You should however check whether an ordinary 7mm SSD fit or you need to hunt for a 5mm (they're rare). As for SSD size... Boo. 120 GB is fine for normal office use but it depends on how many data you want to bring along, convinience etc. Go for a 240-256 GB I think they're the sweet spot right now for price/size. But  hey even 480-512 isn't that expensive these days. As for what brand/model. Boo again it depends on your requirements. But hey even the slowest will be way faster than your HDD.If you want to have the restore partition on it chose a brand which has a clone tool on their website (which of course only works to clone to their device). Put in the SSD in a USB enclosure and clone your HDD onto SSD if you want to have the restore partition as it's a bit special to clone. Or you can also pay for the full version of Acronis True Image but it's rather expensive (although fantastic tool) If you want a clean install you're more free without it cost extra for special tools. Just download a windows image creator tool from Microsoft. If machine is boprn with Win8 you need to download win8 tool even if you want 10 as you have to install 8 then upgrade to 10 - as the key stored in BIOS is for windows 8 thenEasier if machine is born with 10 then just download tool for 10.Put in SSD and boot from the USB stick to have it do a clean install of Win to your fresh SSD. Afterwards got... Read more

I tried upping from recommended 250% to 350% for use of a genealogy program made that program larger but nothing else and if I use pinch to spread out and enlarge then screen impossible to work on because it just jumps from side to side I set everything back and restated and still the same display smaller than before.  I have Nvided GEForce 960M video card and right now laptop is useless.

A:Display on XPS Infiniti edge to edge now so small cannot read anything

I didn't even realize you could go that high.  When I tried 250%, some things became so large that it became impossible to click important buttons since there wasn't enough display area to present them.  It sounds like your genealogy program isn't scaling-aware.  Also note that in some cases, after changing the scaling setting, you need to log off and back onto Windows for the change to fully take effect.
Also, what version of Windows are you running?  The display scaling functionality has changed significantly with each release of Windows from Win7 on, including within the various releases of Windows 10.

Recently after downloading a startup utility called starstartup my display changed with a two inch border on all sides. I have since deleted the startup utility but the border remain. Then I may get an almost new laptop.Do you think it will work, will the older mainboard fit in the newer machine? Thanks.

I have a Windows 10 Enterprise 15063.1088 system that accesses a security camera DVR via local IP.
When i login i get a message that i need to download (DL) an addon: IVSWeb.exe. (this is presented as a blackbox with DL URL in center over what should be camera feeds)
DLing, installing, adding site to compatibility list, relaxing Edge security settings, etc. does not change the behavior (prompted to DL IVSWeb.exe).
When i use browser emulation the results are the same (IE 8 through 11) UNTIL i get to
Microsoft Edge - Windows 10 Mobile. This setting along with
Internet Explorer 11 - Windows Phone 8.1 Update and Internet Explorer 10 - Windows Phone 8
allow me to access the DVR and view camera feeds.
This behavior is duplicated if i use IE 11 browser then enable emulation. Prompted to DL addon until emulation hits
Internet Explorer 11 - Windows Phone 8.1 Update
My question is:
What is difference between desktop Edge (cant stream camera feeds) and emulated Windows 10 mobile Edge (can stream camera feeds)?
Same for IE:
What is the difference between desktop IE 11( cant stream camera feeds)  and emulated IE 11 (can stream camera feeds)?

(in researching this i have just downloaded a couple of the browser VMs to test)

I am looking for a new laptop. I currently have a X121e and recall it being extremely easy to configure on Lenovo's site. So I decided to look at the X270. However, having had great difficulty even starting to configure it (apparently, Lenovo does not favour Firefox any longer), I'm currently having trouble understanding the choices. The first is the choice between PCIe and SATA PointingDevice. Following some discussion, I gather this has nothing to do with any kind of pointing device, but affects my HDD/SSD choices. OK, so let's see what the PCIe choices give me. I get 5 'first hard drive' options. (Nothing I do gets me a 'second hard drive' option, so not sure about this. Or rather, I almost understand this now I've read the platform specification, the user manual, the hardware maintenance manual and various posts on Reddit. One of this days i will buy my first solid state drive.
So i need an expert advice, especially from someone who already has ssd.
First : Most of all worries me the compatibility issue with my GA-X38-DS4 motherboard,i don't want to throw the money for nothing. And i didn't found anything in the web about this.
--------------------------------------------
Second: IF IS NOT THERE ANY COMPATIBILITY ISSUE!! Then....Which one is better, faster?
A) Corsair Force Series F80A - solid state drive - 80 GB - SATA-300
B) OCZ Agility 2 Series - Solid state drive - 80 GB - internal - 2.5" - SATA-300
C) OCZ Vertex 2 Series - Solid state drive - 80 GB - internal - 2.5" - SATA-300

A:My first solid state.

As long as you have SATA ports on your motherboard, SSD drives will work.

Faster is often a result of which benchmark you used. The biggest bang for the buck with any SSD is it's 0.1ms access times to files anywhere on the drive. You will get that from any of the SSD's that you pick. Your read/write speeds may be marginally better on one drive versus another, but unless you are continously reading and writing large files...it probably won't be noticeable in day-to-day computer use.

Personally, I think OCZ has a great reputation and the Vertex 2 line has been solid. I would pick that one if it were me.

Had a major malfunction with my laptop over the weekend and had to replace the harddrive.. lost a few things but I had backups on an external hdd thankfully. One thing I noticed during the whole situation was that my system restore points had been deleted somehow, I researched and found that Defraggler deletes them sometimes, but who knows it could have been something else.

I'm looking for a good defrag program that won't do that.. I noticed Auslogics Disk Defrag in the stickied topics up top but just wanted to ask and make sure it doesn't do anything like that. Also I want a really good backup program. I was using the default backup thing on Vista (set to backup once a week) but when I check my external hdd, there are backups from last year hogging up space..

If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it

A:Looking for 2 solid programs

Welcome
I use Auslogics and am 100% happy with its performance. You can analyze your HD first to see if a defrag is necessary. Its does a better job than the Vista program included as defrag with the OS.
If you want awesome free software to back up, I use Macrium Relfect, it is awesome

First step would be to contact your ISP's (Internet Service Provider's) Tech Support to make sure:

1) They don't have a problem with their service,
and
2) They can see your router from their end.

Ive been looking at PC parts for about a year now, so I know at this point about which parts (mostly CPUS and GPUS) are which and when the next gens come out (like how piledriver comes next month presumeably)
But I cant justify $650 without being rather certain of myself.
so here is the parts list:
Rosewill challenger U3
Crucial 8 GB DDR3 1600 Dual channel 240 pin
FX-8120
Cooler Master hyper 212 EVO
Samsung Spinpoint F4 7200 RPM 320 GB (its cheap right now, althought seagate=meh hopefully I wont have bad luck)
Sapphire 2GB 7850 100355L
Rosewill green series 630W RG630-S12 (will update if/when I crossfire later on)
MSI 970A-G46 (chipset 970, has x16 and x8 in xfire mode)
some cheap wireless thing already got.

I already have all peripherals.
total price is $665 with shipping.

so yea, thats about it.

A:Solid build?

Looks good, but on a bit of a prejudiced note, you may want to look at getting a different power supply, since Rosewill don't have the greatest track record when it comes to PSUs. Also that case is a nightmare to try get clean, so If you don't want the amazon jungle inside your case I highly suggest you take a look at some of Antec or Coolermaster's budget cases.
apart from that, the rest looks good to me.

Hello, I have an Intel 320 Series 80GB Solid State Drive. The advertised speeds are the following:
Sustained Sequential ReadUp to 270 MB/s Sustained Sequential WriteUp to 90 MB/sI'm only getting around 190 MB/s Read and about 80 MB/s Write. I know i would get lower than advertised but not this low. Anybody have any suggestions? I already have enabled AHCI in the BIOS and done all my OS tweaking.

A:Low Solid State Speeds.

What program are you using to get the speeds?

hi all
i am thinking of using a solid state drive for the operating system and would be grateful for any advice can i keep the drive i have now with win 7 home premium, and install another windows 7 (like ultimate): on the solid state drive??

A:Solid state drives

I don't think you can have two instances of Windows using the same license key, even on the same machine (unless you clone them, but then the drives should be identical). So basically you'll have to buy another copy of Windows. Other than that, SSD will make your machine way faster. the only catch is the limited number of write cycles, so I would follow the by now standard advice of moving your cache and temp folders to a RAM disk.

Good day ladies and gents,

I am seeking an elegant and highly efficient method for my needs. All suggestions are appreciated. There seems to be more than one way to get what I need done but keeping the application running quick is important. It's highly likely that I will need assistance after deciding which path to take. Thanks in advance

The need:
- This is an ideal flow but it is malleable.
A user is going about their business and already has the ap open. They need a new record and the first control they click into on the form is [SSN] "frm_MAIN". As they type numerical characters, options in the combobox or form begin to narrow until they finish the number or they click on one of the listed options. Upon selection of the record, data from the respective fields in "dbo_MBMSTRTB"(table) are placed into the respective fields of "tbl_MAIN" and represented on the driving Access form "frm_MAIN" for further editing.

Current state:
The Access application this will be built on has been in production for about 6 or 7 years. Users are comfortable with the flow but have been asking for "search as you type", "auto-population", and "document generation" functionality. Search as you type and auto-population are essentially the same task and for this thread, are our primary focus however, document generation is related because I will need the auto population functionality in order to achieve a one button docume... I'm putting together a PC from old parts. I'm using an ASUS PS800 mobo and a 300W power supply. When I 1st got it hooked up, the PC wouldn't turn on. I looked inside the case and noted that the green LED (which indicates when the computer is getting power) was flickering at a steady rate, and wasn't very bright. The cord into the PS was in tight, and the PS connections to the mobo were tight too. So I used a power supply tester on the PS, and it checked good. I plugged it back into the mobo, the green LED was bright and solid, and the computer booted up and ran fine for a couple of hours. It ran fine the next day too.

The day after than, I moved it into another room. Same problem -- the green LED flickered and wasn't very bright. This time I tried a different power cord, but no difference. Hooked up the PS tester, it tested good, plugged the PS back into the mobo, and everything works fine again.

The mobo came out of a working computer. The PS came out of a computer w/ a bad mobo, and again, the PS always tests good. Could the mobo be grounding against the case? I looked at that, but I didn't see any clearance issues. And it runs fine for long periods of time. What else should I check?

Hi,

I was wondering, with 400 Dolars to spend on HDs, which one do i choose?
I will never use more than 500 GB, which i think is too much.
And i wanted a fast drive, like an SSD.
But i heard that SSDs have a short-life, and they're speed are decreased according to its age.

So, what would be better?
Buy 4x 250 GB 7200 RPM HDs and make Raid 4

Or 1x 128 SSD and a 500 GB for storage

A:Solid State Drive

Better that you should read these articles first:

A *really really really* good article about SSDs - very long and intensive.

Memory (DDR2|DDR3) and Storage (HDD|SSD)

I recently purchased a new graphics cards and a SSD for me home pc. I installed the graphics card (Nvidia 760 GTX) without issue and it was working well, but when I tried to plug in the SSD everything went wrong quickly. Computer is now very slow to load, I can't seem to find a way to actually get anything on the SSD (primarily want to OS on it at least) and videos won't play in HD. Any help for what I might have done wrong or how to make the new drive work like I want it to would be greatly appreciated. I'm running windows 7, but don't have the disk if a reinstall is something that I need to do.

A:Solid State Drive

First of all, no one [other than you] has any idea what we are working on. Post ALL of your exact system specs; ie exact mb, exact ram, exact pw supply installed, etc, etc. If this is a big box system ie dell, hp, whatever, then post the exact make and model#

As for the ssd, post the exact ssd you installed along with what mode is used for the sata controller.

Is it possible to install a solid state drive as the second hard drive for a laptop? I have a dell inspiron 1420.
Is there a noticeable performance gain?
If its not possible to install internally, is there a way to make a solid state drive the primary drive and have it externally?

A:solid state drive

I read that only some of the 17" laptops come with two drive bays. I checked and my 17" laptop does have two drive bays.

I'm no expert, but I've read and have been told heard this a noticable performance gain.

Inside it can be used as primary or secondary. Outside the computer it might only be able to be used as data storage but I'm not 100% sure.

Hey all,

I have been out of the PC building world for a year or so now, just wondering what the newest word about SSD drives are. A year or so ago I remember they were not really up to spec, they had a limited number of read/write cycles and fialed pretty commonly. Is that still true, or have vast improvements been made?

Looking at this drive
http://www.frys.com/product/6799875?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
and throwing it into a desktop, will that mount alright? Any issues about connectors? I think it still uses the same Sata and power cables correct?

A:Solid State Drives

It still uses the same sata and power connects. You would need a drive bay adapter unless you want to wire tie it somewhere.

Hello there everyone, (first post yay!)

About a month ago my solid state hard drive suddenly failed after 2 years of use, fortunately it was still under warranty so I was able to get a replacement, at the time I figured it just had a fault and eventually died. It's worth noting that prior to it bricking completely some applications were running slow and windows was starting to hang.

So I've had my new SSD, (same brand, model etc.) for a month now and it's just died, and again the same symptoms occurred, windows hanging and applications slowing down. I attempted to run disk checks and other such programs but they all failed. I don't believe I've done anything to break it so I'm here. What could cause this to happen?

The SSD is a G.Skill Falcon II 128GB, I've attached my dxdiag if that can provide any other information to assist in anything.

If theres anything else I can add let me know, I look forward to any insight.

A:Solid State died... Again.

Using "tools" intended for mechanical drives is not wise for SSD's.

What do you use the drive for? Have you turned off defrag and other mechanical drive maintenance tools?

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes comes out in Spring 2014 for, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. With the announcement of the Deja Vu exclusive content for the Playstation systems. It left Xbox fans wondering whether or not there would be anything for them. Last night at the Xbox One event, it was announced that there would be exclusive content for Xbox One.

They do not detail what it would be but I can tell you this; it will not be the Deja Vu mission as that is exclusive to fans that have been around for the past 15 years since Metal Gear Solid for Playstation 1.
