Wifi frequently disconnects Miix 510 12 ISK

Q: Wifi frequently disconnects Miix 510 12 ISK

Spoiler (Highlight to read) I just barely got this laptop, new, and set it up a few days ago. I connected to the Wifi and thought there was no problem, but when I opened the browser and typed in a URL, it disconnected. It then reconnected a few seconds later, so I tried another URL, and it disconnected again. This happens every time I try to do anything that requires wifi, including trying to send an error report. The farthest I've gotten is opening Youtube, but I clicked on one video and lo and behold, the wifi disconnected. TL,DR; Wifi disconnects and reconnects every few seconds. Solutions I've tried:- Turning computer off/back on- Turning airplane mode off/on- Disconnecting and reconnecting to wifi network- Disabling and re-enabling network device in Network Connections (Change adapter options in network settings)- Tons of other stuff I can't remember

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

From past 3,4 months, i haven't face any such problem but in past two days, my laptop's WiFi started disconnecting frequently. After 1 or 2 minutes, WiFi gets disconnected and it won't connect for a while to my home network and sometimes it even don't detect the network or even turn off the WiFi. I'm done with updating drivers (drivers are latest i.e Qualcomm Atheros QA9377), also refreshed windows, gave a try to Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.  All my other devices are working fine so there isn't any issue with router. Moreover, i also tried connecting to other routers and have faced same problem. I also tried to change WiFi adapter configurations i.e Turned off the option "Allow computer to turn off the device" in Power Management. My current OS is Windows 10. Could someone help me sorting out this issue that either it's a Software or Hardware issue and how it could be solved

I have recently upgraded from XP for Win7. In my househouse we have 1 wired computer and several wired devices along with several wireless devices and 2 wireless computers. The issue seems to be that when the two wireless computers are accessing the network at the same time, they both will disconnect constantly and share a slow speed.

The touchpad (wireless pc 1) was working fine before and I was able to access the internet fine before on my desktop (wireless pc 2) when running XP. Since upgrading there seems to be some issue whereas the computers are recognizing each other on the network and causing some type of network flaw. Im completely at a loss as to what is causing this and have investigated the issue at lengths using google searches - this is my first forum post and any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried changing the wireless channel to one that isn't being used by your neighbors?
Windows 7 wireless networks are more picky about over crowded channels than XP and will disconnect if the channel is overloaded. You can change the wireless channel in your routers set up page. You should also change to WPA-2 with AES encryption if you aren't doing that already.

In general, channels 1, 6 and 11 are the best channels to use.

The Xirrus wifi inspector software will help you figure out which channels are the least crowded in your area.

Now, I've searched high and low for a solution to this problem and seem to have found one that works for now but I just want to be on the safe side:

My internet is connected through a wireless router.
It's been working fine until recently.

The problem is that for some reason ONLY THE INTERNET stops working. I'm still connected to the wireless network with perfectly fine signal strength. This happens off and on every 5-10minutes and makes doing anything on the internet a nightmare. To solve the problem, I quickly restart my wireless modem but obviously there had to be a better solution.

I've read countless posts about the same problem but it's never been answered to satisfaction, however one post had the problem "fixed" when the user re enabled his LAN card. Surprisingly this seems to have worked for me. But I'm not too sure why, or if somehow, by luck I've managed to remain connected for a long time.

Please explain?

A:Internet frequently disconnects itself

DHCP (Dynamic Host Control Protocol) needs to be enabled in internet properties. Verify that it is.

Also, make sure that the DHCP Service is started and set to "automatic" in Administrative Tools>Services.

Hey there, ever since I reinstalled Windows 10 on this tablet my wifi connection's been really funky, dropping the connection quite often. It dosen't matter if I am a meter away from the router. Usually, the connection completely cuts off leaving me with no wifi at all. I am not sure what to do. The problem consists in regular as in energy saving mode. It also dosen't matter if the tablet is docked. I've already installed all necessary drivers, whether it be wifi or chipset drivers. It just won't change. Even got the official wifi drivers off the realtek website, although with zero success. What can I do to fix this issue? Is it hardware related? I assume it's some kind of energy delivery problem, as it dosen't matter if the tablet is moving or not.

Hi I am having an issue with windows 7 Ent workstations, when RDPing to any server with in the network from any workstation it disconnects if the RDP session is idle even for like 30 seconds. When I minimize the RDP window and max it in 1 min it says - Session
is disconnected and will try to acquire it again. I have windows 2008 Ent servers that I am trying to RDP to.
All my workstations are windows 7 Ent or Pro.
All my servers are Win2008.
All of them have most current patches.
Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Connections
In the right pane double-click on Configure keep-alive connection interval, selected
Enabled, and changed the Keep-Alive interval to 2 as per one of the posting here that suggested it might improve by no luck....
I tried to disable Auto tuning feature - Did not work, Tried reducing MTU from 1500 to 1300 did not work, Rolled back NIC drivers to previous version Did not work, Changed the NIC speed from AUTO to 100/Half, 100/Full did not work. I can confirm that there
is no packet drop from the workstation to the server.
So yesterday night for the heck of it I started RDP session to one of the server and then I started pinging the server continuously and lo behold the RDP connecting did not drop. This leads me to believe that some component with in the network or server
would just disconnect an idle session. Can some one point me in... Read more

I've been looking for a 4G modem thread, and I haven't found one that addresses the 4G problem that Verizon can't seem to solve.
I purchased a Pantech modem for 4G for my Mom, (Windows 7, IE 8) and she has had problems with staying connected to the internet since Day1. I had found a fix to keep her from getting kicked off every 20 minutes as everyone who owns one has complained about. When she started getting kicked off every hour, she called Tech Support at Verizon. Four different Verizon techs have failed to fix the problem, and she is so frustrated that's she's ready to give up on it.

I have no idea what they kept having her do in order to fix the problem, but it hasn't made a difference.

As this appears to be the chief complaint with Verizon's 4G, I was hoping that someone had a bypass that will keep her connected to the 3G, until Verizon figures out how to keep this from happening.
Thank you!

My internet disconnects every 2-3 minutes for about 20 seconds and this lasts for 1-2 hours. Then it happens again later on (I'd say 4 times a day).

I believe the fault was the servers not recognizing modems. But they say they have fixed it. SECOND we called them MANY (100) times and they sent a man out and HE said we have too much going through the DSL line.
We have 1 cordless phone, the modem and a Neilson People Meter. (tv ratings). Is that considered high load?

This is not a computer issue, but more of a modem related problem. Currently, we have AT&T as our DSL provider and we use a Netopia Wireless DSL modem. We're experiencing a series of multiple issues that we cannot seem to diagnose nor can AT&T resolve.

1. The DSL modem frequently disconnects from the uplink, leaving us with a blinking red light that will eventually go green again and then the connection returns. The modem has had its firmware updated and all configurations checked and nothing stands out as to why the connections drops.

2. The DSL connection itself lately has started to come to a crawl, with high latency while playing our online video games. The actual modem itself never resets or disconnects from the uplink, but its as if the modem is confused as to where it should route packets and rather than sending them to the uplink, it acts as tho its caught in a loop. Eventually after 15-20 seconds, we either 1) get disconnected from our game or 2) the lock clears and tons of stuff pass by in the game in quick succession.

We have verified all lines have filters. We have even turned off our cordless phone in the event it was having some issues with the router, and yet the problems persist.

Any help would be appreciated if anyone has any other things we should check to try and resolve this open issue.

I'm trying to help a friend who's having trouble with IRC-chats on her laptop.

The problem: Whenever she uses IRC-chats and there is low activity in the chat (eg. 1-5 posts a minute), she disconnects. She only uses Twitch.tv regularly (game streaming website), which is where the problem occurs.

Additional info:
It's a laptop, about 1 year old, running Windows 8.1, connected with wifi, always plugged in with the charger. She's been having these problems for months, even since starting to use twitch.tv.It happens on home network with wifi and at work network with cable. I know some work networks blocks IRC, but channels with more activity works as they should.I did some testing, and it only happens when the chat activity is low, but she doesn't have to post anything personally. We went to my channel on Twitch, only the two of us, and I posted something every other second for 10 minutes, she never posted anything. During this period, she never disconnected. Then I stopped posting, and she disconnected after a few minutes. In larger chats (300+ viewers), where the chat activity is higher, she does not disconnect. It is only a problem in chats with low number of viewers where the chat doesn't run as fast.No other Internet services are affected. She can view streams, stream herself, use Skype and everything without issues. The problem persists, regardless of Internet traffic on her end. IRC is the only service/application that acts like this.I opened a chat on tinychat.com and she... Read more

Hey guys, i've had this problem a while now and it's bugged me enough for me to seak help

Sometimes when I connect to any of my steam games (left 4 dead, team fortress 2, counter-strike 1.6 or source) it disconnects soon after entering the server or before it's even loaded.

Sometimes this disconnects the internet completely and I have to right-click repair it to renew the IP address and stuff, then it usually works. Once i'm in a game and it doesn't disconnect soon after loading however, i can stay in there for as long as I want and switch servers. It only seems to happen when i'm loading up a server for the first time in the day or whatever.

My internet is wireless, BT Home Hub 8mb
I've got a Netgear WN121T adapter, which is suited to gaming. My signal is always Excellent or Very Good.

I've tried Port Forwarding, not sure I did it 100% right but that didn't help anyway. I've also tried putting commands into the launch options under properties on the games and that hasn't worked either.

Anyone know how to fix this? :X Thanks

Hi I have a Belkin G+ MIMO Router F5D9230-4 connected to a Linksys AM200. Was suppose to buy a G+ MIMO with built in modem... My ISP is TalkTalk Broadband 8Meg. The router connects 4 PCs on 1 network. Basically everyone loses connection frequently and they are starting to get annoyed All the PCs do not uses static IP addresses Im not very good at setting up routers and modems correctly and would like some help. These are the reasosn I believe im gettign disconnected frequently:

1) Power Supply - Original power supply will not work.. worked once then all lights went off. Using a Multi-Volt adaptor. on the Belkin router output reads 12V 0.5A. The multi-volt adaptor is selected at 15V which is the minimum and says this is 4.5A max is this incorrect and can it cause the dilemma im having. All the lights are on and blink/stay solid as they should.

2) Mixed Cards - Although the router is MIMO 1 computer has a G+ card 2 computers have a G card and the other computer uses an ethernet cable. The ethernet card is built in and is 10/100Mbps. Am thinking of upgrading so all are G+ and the same cards. Have been told its bad to mix cards.

3) Bad Setup - I currently have the router set at PPPoE and same with the modem. However I have other setups and am not sure I have the correct one. Isn't bridge mode what I need? The router's setups are Dynamic, Static, PPPoE, PPTP and Telstra BigPond. The modem's setups are PPPoE, PPPoE, Bridged Mode, Half Bridge. Not sure which one ... Read more

A:Solved: Internet Connection Frequently Disconnects

1. Personally I wouldn't operate any electronic device, certainly not a new one, without the proper power supply. Surely there is a long enough warranty to get that power supply replaced.

2. Try just using standard 802.11g until you get the problems ironed out. Then you can introduce MIMO and see if it improves or hurts.

3. If the AM200 modem/router is operating as a modem and router then the Belkin should be connecting with a dynamic connection. If the AM200 is bridged or whatever the term is to say that it is acting as a modem only then the Belkin router's connection must be whatever your ISP requires.

4. Don't know.

5. No difference, except that dynamic (automatic) are far more convenient.

Beyond the first 3 items you've identified (which you should take care of first), sometimes a router firmware upgrade and then reset it to factory default settings and reconfigure will help disconnect problems.

My desktop PC loses connection to the Internet frequently. It usually follows a pattern wherein I have Internet for about 1 min, then I lose access to the Internet for 3 - 5 min before the Internet magically returns, only to fail again shortly after. It is also worth noting that I don't lose connection to the wireless network itself, only access to the Internet.

When my Internet fails Chrome returns the message "DNS probe failed, no internet" or a similar message also referring to the DNS server, while the build in Windows troubleshoot gives one of several error messages including "Your braodband modem is experiencing connectivity issues" (despite the W-LAN working fine on all other devices) and another error message about the DNS server.

Following a guide on the Internet I have tried disabling the Miniport adapter, but it didn't resolve the issue.
I am using a Fritz Box (not sure about the exact model) and a Fritz Wireless LAN stick.
I'll edit this post with the ipconfig output as soon as I can get my Internet to work on my desktop long enough to do so.

From new I've always had issues with wifi disconnecting randomly on Chromebook N21.
It just seems to lose the network it's connected to. Wifi remains on, it searches for networks and seems to see all other available networks except for the one it was connected to. This problem is frustrating me a lot now. After upgrading to WIndows 10, I have noticed that my Wi-Fi connection frequently drops without any pattern whatsover. It just drops randomly and re-connects after 2-3 minutes. If I attempt to connect to the network in that period of 2-3 minutes, it will sometimes connect, and sometimes fail. I have 2 other laptops (1 of which has Windows 10) and they don't experience this problem.

I have searched online and tried tons of things. Nothing has fixed the problem so far! Below are all the things I tried. Please help if you have any suggestions or if there are known issues with Windows 10.

1. Updated the driver software
2. Uninstalled the driver and re-installed it
3. Unchecked the setting of 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in Power Management of the wireless network adapter.
4. Uninstalled anti-virus to eliminate anti-virus as the issue.
5. Disabled 'Wifi Sense' options of 'Connect to suggested hotspots' & 'Connect to networks shared by my contacts'.

I am clueless as to what the issue is. Please help!

Hello, I have been having trouble with the WiFi connection on my laptop for quite a while now. It used to be that it would simply disconnect from wifi for now apparent reason, but I changed a few settings and now that seems to be resolved for the most part. I have a new problem though. The wifi tends to disconnect for just a couple of seconds occasionally, and then fix itself. It wouldn't be a problem, but the interupt is usually enough to kill my Skype calls (which I do a lot of) or any VPN connections I am on (which I also do a lot of). I have never been sure if it is just my college's network or not. It seems to mostly happen while I am here, but yet I don't know of anyone else who has this kind of trouble with the network. Any idea what would cause a momentary interuption in wifi? Thanks!

A:Wifi disconnects momentarily

I would need for you to do the following. Open a command window, and without the quotes, enter the following "netsh wlan show all". It will show A/P strength, driver info of your wlan adapter.

Now if it is at a college, it could just be that there is not enough coverage, along with the A/P's are too saturated, so people are getting kicked off.

I've had this problem for months, but it was only every hour or two so it was fairly tolerable. (It would start working as soon as I disconnected/reconnected (I usually used a button on my laptop))

At the moment, my laptop doesn't stay connected for more than a minute, it seems.
There might be some physical damage from a long time ago, but I'm not sure. This laptop also crashes a lot so there might be some corrupted stuff or something.

I looked for updated drivers, but going through device manager says it's up to date and checking the acer website says that the network drivers are included in 7 and so doesn't have them available for download.

My Wifi would randomly disconnect even though my internet is on. I've updated the drivers, and uninstalled them twice. It did not make a difference. I try going back to an older driver it still didn't work. It randomly disconnects too not scheduled or anything. Any solutions would help. Thank you.

Hi all, I recently bought my first laptop (HP Streambook) and it's fine except for it constantly disconnecting from my wifi?
It only does this in my room (note that every other device I own can still pick up and keep a consistent connection in here), and when it picks up the connection, it only has 2-3 bars. It'll then go to 5 bars for about 30 secs, then disconnect completely. When I attempt to reconnect it may not work at all, or appear there with 2-3 bars again. I have reset the network card more times than I care to mention and any amount of troubleshooting won't help. I'm at my wit's end, any ideas?

A:WiFi constantly disconnects?

Welcome to the forum!

Honestly, not the top of the line when it comes to notebooks/laptops. Can't rule out that it simply has a weak wifi adapter and antenna. What adapter does it have? May need to update the drivers. How far are you from the router and are there walls in between?

Also be sure the adapter is not allowed to sleep and power saving mode is not enabled.

Hi @maksr,  Thank you for joining the HP Forums!  I noticed your post on how your HP Notebook - 15-r204tx laptop's wireless connection is randomly disconnecting. I am happy to help!  What is the error you are getting on the blue screen?  For now, please try the steps in this guide, Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 8).  If this helps, please consider clicking on 'accept as solution.' And, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post. Hope this post is helpful!

I recently bought a Lenovo V570 and a Dell Inspiron N5110 from Best Buy but I am having an issue with both of them. Both have Intel i5 processors so it has to be something to do with it. My Wifi randomly disconnects and sometimes it automatically reconnects and sometimes it doesn't connect back. I am using a Netgear router connected to Charter high speed internet. The weird thing is I can connect an iPhone 4, Motorola Xoom, and an older Dell laptop with no problem. Someone please help. This is driving me crazy!!

If your using 802.1x Authentication please disable it by going into network and sharing center-then to your wireless adapter and click properties and disable it by unchecking it. If you not using that protocol your probably getting a weak signal from the router Netgear routers are known for that.

My friend's Win 7 laptop seems to drop the wifi connection when it goes to sleep, although she also says it sometimes drops it even if it has not slept. She is able to fix the issue by disconnecting from the wifi network, and reconnecting.

She bought an external USB wifi adapter, disabled the old one, but it did not fix the problem.

I went into Device Manager and the wifi adapter was not set to sleep to conserve power.

I also went into Power Options and set it to High Performance (still sleeping after an hour) and it is still the same.

She thinks, but is not sure, that the issue may have started when she got a new router/modem from Comcast. But other Win 7 computers in the house have no problem.

Any ideas?

A:Wifi disconnects after sleep

If she has to disconnect and reconnect are you sure that she's disconnected? Is it signal icon with yellow triangle with exclamation mark?Limited access?

Try updating/downgrading driver.
Maybe in driver adapter settings it's set to sleep and it overrides Windows settings.

My laptop has suddenly developed a problem. It will randomly disconnect from the stable wifi connection I have. I have observed the router when this happens and it is not the router as the signal is always there. It will disconnect and then about a minute later auto reconnect. A week ago I came back to my laptop and it wanted me to choose if LOV53 ( my wifi connect name) was a home or public connection. I didn't understand why it asked this again but I choose home. Another thing that has changed, My network use to say connected to LOV53 now it says LOV53 2. Maybee the channel changed I dont know. If anyone can figure out why this has happened and help me repair it I will worship you. I have all my drivers up to date also ... Thnk YOu in Advance for the halp

Hey guys, I have had a recent problem with a new xfinity router I just got where my Inspiron computer running Windows 7 is connected to the router, but says no internet access. This happens often when I am browsing the web or watching a video, but not so much when I am not using the internet. The problem fixes itself usually in about 1 minute or so, or I can disconnect and reconnect to the router to fix it.
I also have a problem where my laptop disconnects from the router every time I shut the case. I open the laptop again, and a little popup shows up in the bottom left saying that no network adapter can be found, and the network thing on the task bar says no network connections can be found. This goes away after maybe 2 seconds or so, but the laptop does not connect to the wifi again until i tell it to. Neither of these seem to happen on other devices connected to the router. Thanks for all comments.
