I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The buzzing noise on my AIO C50-30 desktop seems to be getting worse and when I touch the right hand side of the screen it gets quite hot.
It runs ok.  Nothing shows up in the scans.  For a long time the buzz didn't start until it had been turned on for a while, but now it seems to start straight away and  seems to be getting worse
It's a touch screen and I'm a bit worried about the heat to the right hand side of the screen.
I've seen lots of posts generally on internet - not in here - about buzzing, so it seems to be a 'feature' but does anyone have any ideas how to stop it.

There's this annoying white noise on my left speakers(Logitech X-540 Speakerset), though I think it's not my speakers that are causing it, but something else, because when I connect my iPod to my speakers there's no white noise.

So I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get rid of this noise

A:White noise on left speakers/left side of headphone

Sounds like either a driver malfunction or more likely a failing sound card. Most of the stuff below (Windows & Programs) wouldn't likely be causing problems. I'd be willing to bet it's a hardware problem (due to it only being one side).

Figure Out What's FailingIf you're using a secondary sound card
*** i.e. you have a second built in one on your motherboard, enable that.
If you still hear the sound on a different card, then it's something within Windows and not a problem w/ hardware.
If you don't hear the sound, then it's something w/ drivers or your hardware.
If you don't have an extra sound card, see if you can find/buy one Replace DriversDownload & Install a Program like Guru's Driver Sweeper
Uninstall your sound drivers w/ Driver Sweeper
Reboot
Download and install the latest drivers for your sound card.
RebootIf the sound is still there and you couldn't test a secondary card you're likely dealing with either a hardware failure (most likely with sound only happening in one speaker) or something in Windows failing.

Repair WindowsIf you want to try to fix windows, you can do the following:
Run an elevated Command Prompt and run this command:
sfc /scannow
Peform a system restore
Perform a repair install.Test to see if a program is causing the problemType msconfig into start menu search and hit Enter
Go to the startup tab and disable everything.
Restart computer
Do you still hear the sound?
Yes -- Not a program
No -- A program is likely causing the problem. If no... Read more

From about 3 weeks ago, my Lenovo Y510p (GT 750M Sli, purchased in 2013) started to make this weird grinding/buzzing sound at random times on the CPU side of the fan. It was barely noticeable if I had headphones on at first, but starting from the second week the noise and vibration of it grew louder. After doing some research for possible fixes, I have tried the method openining Energy Management and running the Dust Removal feature to temporary solve the problem. However, that method only worked for about a week, and starting from the third week the buzzing remains very consistent even after I run Dust Removal several times. Does anyone here know what is the problem exactly? I know for other models, people have been able to solve the problem by updating their BIO driver provided by the website. But all Y510p users seen to have that problem early enough to just get a refund or send it back for exchange/repairment using their then still active warranty. I would like to know if there's any way that I can fix this without having to spend money for the fix when it is proven it is the company side issue since even fresh new purchases of the same model ran into the same exact problem within days.

Hi, I have a problem with my laptop. It was in service at the end of August with the cpu stuck at 0,8GHz problem. They fixed it with the replacement of the motherboard. This problem is fixed, but after the service a new problem came. My left speaker started making buzzing noise when I start playing games(CS:GO or GTA V tested on both). Feels like as my laptop getting hotter and hotter the noise gets louder and louder. If I close the game there is still buzzing noise, but as the laptop cools down it starts getting quieter until it stops doing it. I tried to uninstall and install the audio driver(latest from the acer website), disable or mute the speakers, but nothing help. I'm always using my laptop with headphones. Thanks for the advices in advance.

Hello, I bought an Acer Aspire R15 with Windows 10 from Best Buy in mid-June 2016. I just noticed today that the left side hinge is stuck at a 180 degree angle, so that my screen looks lopsided. (I think I have once, just to see that it really will do this, turned it into tablet mode from laptop mode, and back again, so it isn't as though I have been swinging it around willy-nilly!) Anyway, I have tried to free it up but daren't apply pressure as I am afraid of breaking the case, or the display, or the hinge itself! Any ideas, anyone out there? Please? Thanks in advance!

Model:  HP Pavilion m6 Notebook PC 15".   Laptop used minimally and still in beautiful shape other than these noted issues:  Left hinge is broken away from plastic casing (see pic) and Right hinge is broken away from lid plastic (see pic).   From what I'm reading, it seems the plastic base, chassis, and possibly lid base and hinge need replaced.  Please let me know what HP is offering as far as replacement parts and repair.  This seems to be an ongoing issue with HP notebooks.  I've purchased a total of three HP notebook/laptops over the past four years so I'm very concerned about these issues and why HP has allowed it to continue for so long and across so many different models.  It seems to me the plastic used in making these parts does not have the tensile strength required in notebook/laptop use.  I would think this issue would've been corrected years ago and not have continued.  Please advise.  I do love all my HP laptops other than these issues.   Thank you.

Hi,
I recently bought my Dell XPS 9560. My dell xps screen appears cooler on the left side and slightly warmer on the right side. It is not noticeable in any color but when I visit websites with a white background like google, I can notice that the right side is slightly warmer (yellowish) which is distracting. Any idea on how should I proceed with the issue?
Thanks

A:Dell XPS 9560 Screen - left side cooler and right side warmer

If "recently" is less than 21 days from shipment and from Dell directly, the best option is to contact customer support and have the system replaced.
If it's more than 21 days from shipment, the warranty will cover the display replacement, which is the only solution -- though if the system is new enough, you're better off having it replaced than repaired.

Has anyone seen this before?
This seems to be happening more and more, I am using my PC (with Windows 8 Pro) as an HTPC and its connected via HDMI to a plasma TV so the PC is always on. Sometimes, when I go to use the pc I turn the TV on and then move the mouse around to turn the display on and I see the attached image, it looks as though the screen has shifted to the right and wrapped around to the other side.
I ran windows 7 with the same hardware on this setup for years without an issue. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Very frustrated with this...I opened the laptop gently as I would always do  and the hinge on the left side of the laptop just snapped and popped out of the plastic monitor frame.  The design of the hinges are just terrible and i can now see how they work because the case has been damaged just from opening and closing the laptop.  I can now see inside the whole left side of the case.  To top it off I have already invested considerable time into upgrading the OS to Windows 10 and customizing and installing software on this laptop. I cannot close my laptop entirely since the screen closes on an incorrect angle. Since I am out of warranty, is there any way to fix this problem? After reading several posts, it seems to be a common problem with the envy models.

Hello,

I have a strange problem. I recently had to move my graphics card from one slot to another on my motherboard. When I did so, my desktop appeared to be shifted over to the left and that the left most part of the desktop would not display. I tried to use my TV controls to shift the display horizontally and when I did I encountered two issues- 1) the display would not adjust flush with the right side of the screen (would not reach it leaving a slim black bar) and 2) it looked like someone sliced off the left most part of my desktop (the part missing was a width so that about half the start/ windows button was missing).

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling CCC (latest update/drivers) for my ATI Raedon HD 46xx series card with no luck (Doing a registry sweep between to be thorough). I also have updated everything else windows with no luck.

My desktop is fine @50hz by the way, but 60hz is problematic.

And here is the whammy!

I took a screenshot of my desktop to send to a friend so he could see the left part cut off by a black bar and when I pasted it, the whole screen is there in the pic!!

So I assume this means that windows thinks it is displaying the screen but it is not making it to my TV?

I would have given up on this, however, it was working before so I know that it is possible.

Any help with this issue would be appreciated as I am starting to pull my hair out over here! :-)
Thanks in advance!

Daikon

A:Desktop shifted left and cutoff on left side Win7 64bit Raedon HD 46xx

Hum I had a similar thing happen with my monitor I just could not get it to the edges and someone advised me to use the scaling in the CCC and it worked so give it go.

Personally I got so fed up with the ATi stuff and went NVidia best thing I ever did.

Hi, I have a CTL 17" LCD monitor. This morning I turned on my pc and found that the left side of my monitor is darker than the right side. Any idea as to what the problem could possibly be?

A:My monitor is brighter on the right side than on the left side

I don't know which orientation the tubes have, but if it is vertical, the tubes on the left may be on their way out. Most LCD monitors unless specifically advertised otherwise (ie - LED) use fluorescent tubes for the backlight.

So, I'd say it is on its way out and there is nothing you can do to fix it short of just replacing it. The left side may brighten to normal after being on several minutes/hours. Did you notice if that happened the longer you had it on?

Hello,

Before I start...I hope I've posted this in the right forum if not then I apologize

I brought this fan a few months ago or so (around same time of building the pc) and the problem started roughly a month ago but at the time I thought it was my CPU cooler because previously I had my stock cooler connected so I thought it was that. But obviously I was wrong cause I've got a new CPU cooler in and still hear the noise (more worse than ever now!).

Anyway's to the point I'm thinking it's either the ball-bearing that's screwed or the fan has done it's course? Would be great to get a second opinion on this before I jump the line and buy a new fan

Thanks in advance!

A:Buzzing noise

Hi there @Callity,Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! I understand that you are getting a buzzing noise when you are playing audio or communicating to someone on Skype. I am happy to assist. Since it is also happening when you are using Skype to communicate, the functionality of the microphone is also being affected, by whatever the root cause is. Give this a try: HP PCs - Resolving microphone problems (Windows 10, 8) Another thing you can try if the previous does not help, is go into Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the IDT and then click "Uninstall". But do not check the box to uninstall the drivers. Then restart the PC. When Windows starts again, it will detect the sound device and reinstall it in Device Manager and may put it on a different shared IRQ. This is assuming that the Audio noise being added to the sound device is coming from interference from another device.  Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

Sorry if this isnt the right section, seems like it though.

So recently I bought a new headset, the Roccat Kave 5.1 to be specific. My motherboard has onboard 7.1, but the problem is, is that I want to be able to have my speakers plugged in as well, regardless of if they play sound or not when my headset is active. I have a 2.1 speaker setup, so I have one plugged into the green and one in the black. Problem is is that I dont have room for my headset, being it has 6 plugs. So I went out and bought another sound card specifically for my headset.

Issue is, is that I cant have sound playing from both my speakers from the onboard jacks, along side of my headset (which I would just mute when not in use, and vice versa with the speakers). So as a workaround, I added a shortcut to the speaker setup on my desktop and whenever I want to use the headset, I switch the default device to my sound card, away from the motherboard.

But because my sound card did not have a pink jack for the mic, I have to have it plugged in to the motherboard. It works, but when I am using the steam chat, or even vent, there is this steady buzzing noise. Not loud, and it only seems to be noticeable when I go into a game. Idling on the desktop it doesnt do it at all. But my friend complains about it (despite the irate amount his mic makes from being so sensitive) and it does bother me as well.

So any ideas on how I would go about eliminating this buzzing noise?

Hello,
I have new Dell XPS 15 9550 laptop. 4K monitor, i7-6700HQ, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD. The laptop is 1 month old. Once I received the unit I didn't have any kind of problems with it, but then I updated the drivers out of fear from the BSOD because many others had troubles with it. After the update problems arrived.
First it was screen flicker. It was driving me nuts. After reading a lot of forum posts, various articles on the internet, a combination of latest BIOS and Intel HD driver revision number 4331, did the trick. Flicker was not present anymore.
Then came the buzzing noise from the left bottom side of the laptop. Everything I tried to remove it failed. This was not present at the time laptop arrived. The power adapter was buzzing from the start but not the laptop. After some time the laptop also started buzzing. This is very annoying considering this is a 2k laptop.
Now the fan that is closer to the power outlet is also producing some scratching sound on lower RPM.
I must say that I am very dissapointed in the time invested in the proper testing of these devices. i tried using dell support, but 5 consequtive times dell's website gave me "Sorry, try again.". So, I can't file a report that I have a product that is not functioning as it should. My warranty was started 5 months before laptop even arrived at my place, and I am not sure how that happened, because it wasn't opened, it was properly sealed.

Sounds like a fan needs to be replaced.  You'll need to initiate a warranty transfer to wherever you're located now -- however, note that the basic 12-month warranty cannot be transferred from country to country.   You must have upgraded to (or upgrade now) at added cost, an onsite service plan to allow for an international warranty transfer.

As of recently I have the problem that at random points the PC seems to shut itself down, I hear a click as if  it would go to sleep mode but the power button stays on aswell as the fans and other components. The problem also occurs when I try to shutdown the computer manually, it hear the click, screen goes black but all the insides stay powered. Last time i could also hear a buzzing noise through my headphones, probably the audio signal turned to shreds.
I run Windows 7 on:
i7-860
MSI GTX 970
Antex-HCG 750 Watts
Probably some Intel H58 motherboard.
6GB of DDR3 RAM

It's an improved Acer Aspire M7811.
I am however on the lookout for a new computer, so the only thing that bothers me is wether or not the issue could be caused by my GPU or PSU since those components I plan to move to my new system.

Whenever I start playing a game, no matter what game, I get weird buzzing feedback from my headphones or speakers, depends on what I use when I play. They both make the same noise at the same places (certain menus, while in-game, etc).
I also can't make my built in mic on my earphones to work. I believe that's all somehow connected since it worked flawlessly on Windows 7.
I'm starting to regret installing 8.1 but I don't wanna go back because I'm lazy. I'm going off topic...
I tried installing, uninstalling different version of Realtek HD Audio drivers. Whenever I'm uninstalling the built-in my I was talking about starts working, but then I restart my computer and it stops working.
On the other hand, I have a good headset by Razer, which the microphone of these headphones DOES work. I don't know what to make of this.
Anyway, in conclusion: Weird buzzing feedback while in-game, earphone's mic doesn't work, headphone's mic does. I really just wanna solve the buzzing feedback thing, thanks.

Hi all, back to the gurus!!
Just tried to convert a few movies to AVI, using Freemake video converter. Gets to around 5% and then I get a buzzing sound emanating from the tower. Didn't sound like a fan hum or the like, a bzzzzz like a loud mozzie. Disconnected everything, took off the side cover and blew it out with compressed air but there wasn't a great deal of gunk anyway. Plugged her back in but same thing happens!! Any clues guys and gals??

Update: I ran CPUID HWmonitor and then tried to convert the file while watching CPUID. The line under temperature (TMPIN2) got to 80c and then the buzzing started. Does this mean I have to redo the thermal paste or something else? (It was a stock standard CPU when installed and no extra paste was used.

Are you trying to burn it directly to cd/dvd? Just convert & save the AVI on the computer, then burn it cd/dvd disk.

I got my Y50 shipped to me today and everything seems to be perfect except it has this weird buzzing/static noise coming from the right side of the computer. It seems to be torwards the headphone jack but I can't seem to get rid of it. I've tried uninstalling realtek drivers and using the default high def audio from microsoft but the sound still persist from the moment I turn my pc on and to the moment I turn it off (doesn't matter if I plug in a headphone, noise still persists). I also updated my bios, graphics, audio, bluetooth to the latest version on the Lenovo website and it's still buzzing. My best guess would be that it's coming from the hard drive but I could be wrong. Can anyone please help me out with this problem? I'm also curious if anyone else has the same problem as me.

After getting help from some people on here I checked out my HD with Maxtor and it said everthing was fine. I then used the Samsung utility HUTIL to check my HD and it came up under the master and slave drive saying "none". I still have no idea what is causing my HD to buzz from time to time so any help would be great.

I got a new pair of headphones today and after awhile I noticed a quiet buzzing noise when I move my mouse around or type on the keyboard, soon I heard the noise without any user input until I restarted my PC then it was just buzzing when using my mouse and keyboard.

I tested several headphones and heard no noise however these new ones are better than my old ones, I've also tested them on my brother's PC and heard no buzzing.

I'm using my onboard VIA HD Audio driver(up to date). I still hear the noise even if I disable all audio devices.

Motherboard is a Gigabyte M4A785TD-V EVO. Is this what's to blame?
Rig, although I can't help but think most of this wont help with this.
OS: Windows 7 64
Mobo: Gigabyte M4A785TD-V EVO
GPU: Radeon HD 5850
CPU: Phenom 2 x4 925
No sound card
Ram 6GB
PSU: Corsair TX 650W V2

EDIT:
No wireless mouse/keyboard

A:Buzzing noise with new headphones.

Plug the headphone into the rear GREEN speaker jack and see if you still get the noise. If its OK there, there is something wrong either with the front panel assembly in the case or possibly the wiring or how its routed to the HD Audio connection on the motherboard.

I have Silverstone Strider 850W PSU, and i noticed buzzing noise from it. That buzzing noise is constant, even i shutdown my computer.
Any help? Fix?

A:PSU- Constant buzzing noise

Power supplies are still "live" and are putting out some voltages even when the PC is powered off.

Several possibilities, the first being the power supply is loose in the mounting. The second something internal to the power supply loose, a transformer vibrating and finally the power supply "vibration" is causing something else in the PC case to buzz.

Hello,

First of I'd just mention that Ive recently got a completely new system and this problem has started happening again! The only similarity is that both of my graphics cards were NVIDIA.

Basically my PC will randomly freeze and a loud buzzing sound will occur if im using any sound related program, if not it will just silently freeze and can last hours when it is idle without a black screen or restart.
As i said this was happening towards the end of my previous computers life (6 years) so after upgrading (Packard Bell ixtreme M3730) when it started happening again i was confused. The only thing I can vaguely think of is my power supply, as in the plug sockets or extension lead im using?

Im at a total loss here as last time it eventually screwed my whole pc up and it wasnt even usable after a while. It can happen at any time... 2 minutes after the pc is turned on or 12 hours, Playing a game, Listening to music, Browsing the net or as i mentioned just sat idle on the desktop with nothing running.

Any help or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated and I can run a DxDiag if that would be of any help?

Regards.

OK this just started today...when I enter and game and start playing it, some time 1-10 minutes in the game my monitor starts making a buzzing noise like ive never heard before...kind of like a 'zzzzz' like when you plug an amp to a guitar,i dont know. it doesnt do this in the menu screens of the game, just in the gameplay itself and it doesnt do this with any other programs besides games... ive tried 2 different games and 2 different disc drives and it still does it. im about to try and degauss, what is going on please help!

oh and by the way, if i found out its the monitor cause when i turn it off it stops buzzing, but if i just minimize the game it also stops buzzing.

A:weird buzzing noise, please help!

ok degaus didnt help...i should mention that my mom leaves this monitor on stand by every day, do you think something just blew?

Seem to be plagued with problems at the moment. Have just fixed one and now the Sandy Bridge is making a fairly loud buzzing noise a bit like a doorbell being pushed. It is fairly intermittent and the sound lasts for a few seconds or for a minute or so. It doesn't seem to be related to anything I am doing at the time either.

Have tried tracking it down but seems to be nowhere in particular.

any ideas anyone please before I go stir crazy??

A:Irritating buzzing noise

It could be Windows grinding a hard drive endlessly for any of several pointless, counter-productive reasons, and some hard drives seem to do periodic recalibrations or self-tests or something all by themselves, which I've observed to continue even after ejecting a docked drive from Windows. These things can last from seconds to minutes, and I can imagine it being described as "buzzing". Also check that fans are securely mounted and momentarily stop them one by one to rule them out.

I have a straight connection from the sound card (green headphone jack) on my computer to the phono (red & white) input on an amplifier. The cable is stereo to phono (1.5m long). When I have the volume low on the pc and turn up the volume on the amp I get a really bad buzzing sound on my speakers, espically the center speaker (I've a 5.1 setup). When I play music on the pc this noise is very bad. I get this noise both from the onboard and PCI sound cards. This is no conflict of sound cards on the pc as this occurred before I instlled the new sound card. I also tried a different stereo to phono cable but the noise is still there. Any suggestions on the cause of this noise or how to eliminate it?

Hi all,

I have a fairly new Dell laptop with Win 10 and I'm having problems with Skype. From my mic, whether I am speaking or not, there is a loud buzzing background noise. I don't hear it, but others on the call do.

If I use Skype's test call service and record my voice, I hear it. If I instead just record my voice with Windows Voice Recorder, all is fine. So it seems to be a problem with Skype.

I've tried different headphones, same problem.

If I use the same headphones in Skype on my Android phone, all works fine.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling skype, same problem.

Dell Tech support installed a completely new motherboard and audio jack, same problem.

If I use a headset with a USB connector, all is fine.

I participate in many Skype meetings so this is a problem.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this or what to look for?

Below info on my system.

Thanks!
