Q: Compatible wireless AC cards for Lenovo G700 labto...

Hello All I am trying to find out if there is any wireless AC cards that will work with Lenovo G700 series Labtop. I am not sure where to look or how to find out the current card manufature ID or if there is a list of approved wireless AC cards Lenovo knows will work with this machine. If any one has any idea please let me know so I can upgrade. I love this machine and would like to get better wireless speeds.

Preferred Solution: Compatible wireless AC cards for Lenovo G700 labto...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello and welcome,

The whitelisted (model + Lenovo FRU required) WLAN cards are shown on page 72 of the Hardware Maintenance Manual - Lenovo G700, G710

I don't see any AC cards listed.

Your best bet may be a USB wireless AC adapter. Not ideal perhaps, but inexpensive.

I've had a G700 running Windows 8.1 for a few years now. Recently I've been experiencing a problem where I'll suddenly lose wireless connection and get the troubleshooting message that "the default gateway is not avaible". It's a very frequent problem (according to my troubleshooting log it's happened over 200 times this month) and I'd really, really like to be rid of it. I'm using a Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. I saw some people with similar issues, and I've already changed the power setting so the computer can't turn off the driver to save power. It didn't help. I saw some suggestions to lower the adapter's "roaming aggeression" under the advanced tab, but I don't have that option (I do have "Roaming tendency" which I set to moderate but again, it didn't seem to help). The only thing I can think to do next might be to reinstall the whole driver, but I wanted to see what the nice folks here suggested. So yeah. Lenovo G700. Broadcom 802.11n. Windows 8.1. Randomly losing wireless connection because the default network gateway is unavalible. Any suggestions?

I purchased an Asus Geforce GTX 750ti graphgics card to install in my Lenein H50 50 PC. On the store's website it said that the maxmium wattage output that the pc required to run that graphics card was 150 watt. On the graphics card box it says the munimum requirement is 400 watt. Is this going to be OK? Also, in terms of physically installing it, thew card requires a free PCI express slot. I know nothing about the internal workings of PCs but when I opened up the case, I do not see anything thet resembles a PCI express slot. If this card is not compatible, can anyone suggestr a similar card that would be. Thanks, Paul

A:Compatible Lenovo h50 graphic cards?

It looks like that should work. Your power supply can handle it, and I see a PCI express slot on your computer's motherboard on the hardware manual. I'll suggest to get it from a retailer with retun policy, just in case it doesn't

Hello, I dont know much about computers so I'll try my best to explain this in the best terms possible. After checking my systems specs I realized I have an okay computer for playing games. I have a 12 GB RAM and an intel i5-3270T CPU core in my computer, that fits in an about 11x11x4 inch case. The one thing is I have a regular Intel graphics card (with a 1792 MB total memory, and a 96 MB VRAM). I know thats not great for playing games and my low frame rate in computer games proves that. I wanted to know what graphics cards are compatible with my system or at least what I should look into before making a choice. Thank you.

Apologies if this has been asked before. I purchased a Lenovo H-50 - 55 computer last month (90bg003jus) and I need to add a new graphics card.  I'm trying to figure out which kinds are compatible with my unit since I hate having to go back to the store and exchanging them (it's an all-day trip from where I live). What sort of card (preferrably AMD since everything on this computer was designed by them) should I be looking for?

Generally speaking WLAN card upgrade is not supported so there is no public document or any info about ?compatible WLAN cards?.
On this forum you can find several threads about WLAN card upgrade but I don't think you will be so lucky and find info related to Satellite A660.

Maybe stupid question now but why do you want to exchange original WLAN card? Is it defective maybe?

I want to upgrade the wireless card to enable a 5GHz-AC connection to my ASUS RT AC87U router.
It looks like usb wireless adapters suffer from disconnection and break downs along the way (got this from reading reviews on amazon)
Can anyone recommend a few new AC wireless cards compatible with this desktop? (head about the Intel 7260 but I dont know if there are newer ones).
Thanks in advance!

A:Lenovo G700 BlueTooth issue

Have you physically looked at the hardware (Wireless Card) and ran the units serial / model / part numbers thru Google to see if it does in fact have bluetooth?  I ask this as the listing you link to states the bluetooth module is "optional" rather than included as fact.
I would also recommend that you download your service / maintenance manual from the Lenovo Support tab of this website and look at the listing of parts for WiFi and bluetooth, which you can use as a "reference" tool to see exactly what part is in your notebook.
Once you have this information, post back and we will see what we can do to assist you with further troubleshooting.

My Lenovo G700, which is a week old, is saying that it is "plugged in, not charging". It was working fine until last night when I closed the lid to put it into sleep mode for the first time. I have checked that it is set to maximum battery life and it is still not working. It's stuck on 98%. I am severely disappointed that something like this has happened a week into having my first Lenovo. I hope someone can help me rectify this problem.

A:Lenovo G700 Plugged In Not Charging

hi Zadeth,
Welcome to the Forums.
Can you try to:
1. Turn off the machine and remove the AC adapter and battery
2. Hold the power button for 10secs then plug the AC adapter back in.
3. Turn the computer ON and when it gets to Windows, slide the battery back in place and observe the charge.
Alternatively, try to use the battery charge until it asks you to plug the AC adapter and observe if the charge goes all the way to 100%.
Let me know your findings

I was having issues with my Lenovo G700 laptop (it kept crashing every time I tried to shut it down). It was failing the Targeted Read Test and the SMART Short Self Test so I took it to a technician to get the internal hard drive changed since it was failing. I got my laptop back but now I am getting a warning for the SMART Short Self Test and a non-applicable label for the SMART Drive Self Test everytime (code is W1XDZDWLU-8VHH7E). Googling the code did not bring up any results. The tests over all are labelled as "passed" but the laptop is slow and keeps stalling. Hi!I have problem with lenovo g700. A few months ago my display has broken, it turned out when i push harder in keyboard section where are keys like I, O, P, J, K, L my display lights up. So I thought that it must have been tape from display backlight. When i unscreawed keyboard screws and unattached a keyboard then everything seemd to be working. But unfortunately it didn't. Laptop does not turn on. When I click power button it seems like it has power because power diode is on, but can't turn on. I checked all tapes and and power button is working because when I hold it for a few seconds the power diode turns off. Also, when i plug power supply it turns power diode. I tried also every magic trick with unhooking ram and turning without power supply and battery. Maybe I damaged something while repairing but it seems like on motherboard there is no scrathes at all, thin layer of dust ( I think i could see scratches from screwdriver ). What should I do? Thank you in advance.

Hi. I got a 2-3 year old Lenovo Yoga 500-14ACL laptop, Machine Type Model: 80NA002MMX, with the newest BIOS firmware from Lenovo, in which I got a Linux distro installed to a partition.  My only problem is, the WiFi does not work, as there are no drivers available for this card on Linux systems. I tried as a last resort to use a program called "ndiswrapper" to install the windows driver in my Linux distro with the help from Linux professionals, sadly it did not work. Now my only chance is to purchase a new WiFi card compatible with Linux distros (not a USB WiFi plug), so my question is, where is that "whitelist" which Lenovo has implemented into the BIOS online? I have searched online, but I cannot find a list containing compatible cards. I see many users has purchased cards previously without being aware that Lenovo reject certain cards, and that is exactly what many users report, the card is rejected by the BIOS, and the users are left with a card they can not use. Before I order a new WiFi card, I want to make sure the card I order is compatible in my laptop. I came from the store I bought the pc today, and the techicians there were very surpised that Lenovo in fact had such a list in their BIOS, and they were not aware about it until I informed them. They told me that all they could do is to contact Lenovo directly by mail, so they recommended I did that myself, in which this forum post is all about. What WiFi cards are in the BIOS'... The charger supplied with my Lenovo G700 recently stopped working completely (it was making a weird bleeping sound when plugged in as well), so I purchased another genuine Lenovo charger identical to the first. However, my laptop doesn't recognise that this is an authentic Lenovo product and keeps telling me that I'm using an 'unauthorised battery', so my laptop can only be plugged in, and not charging. So far I've been unable to find a suitable fix on google. I'm reluctant to buy another charger as they are so expensive, in case I encounter the same problem again.  Any suggesions/experiences would be very helpful! Thank you

Hi guys, I'm dealing with a problem which is currently (but I sincerely hope, not permanently) rendering my G700 useless. When I attempt to boot my PC it freezes at the Lenovo splash screen. I've waited ample amount of time but nothing appears to happen. One time I waited and managed to get into a Windows troubleshooting menu where I attempted to wipe the PC and start fresh, but this also froze at the lenovo screen soon after. Pressing the Novo button gives me 4 options but it appears to freeze, not allowing me to scroll through the options, or press enter. If I remove the harddrive it tells me to insert media and press OK, but once again, it appears to freeze as pressing enter doesn't do anything. I've tried booting from a USB stick but can't seem to get into any setting which would allow me to do this.I Removed DVD drive as I read on this forum that it was an issue with different Lenovo laptops, and since I don't use it anyway, decided to give it a go, but unfortunately nothing changed :-( If any kind soul could advise me with what I could possibly do, it be would be greatly appreciated as I'm dreading the thought of having to purchase a new laptop. Thanks :-)

I have been experiencing a few misc problems with this laptop and I am well aware that it is dying but I would like to know if any of this I can do a quick fix to help holding off till I finally can afford my gaming rig. 1. Restarting and shutting down can cause all audio and brightness control to no longer work. Usually after a a little while videos stop playing as well when audio goes out. Restarts usually a guarantee to do this when not fixing something. I go to device manager and unistall the audio parts and restart to fix that. I manually install a different driver to get my brightness control back whenever it stops working. I used to have this issue with my mic but that turned out to be damage from switching to windows 10 and back which is fixed now. 2. Background returned to windows 10 default as windows 8.1 . This only happened once but my background randomly changed from my game character to windows 10 default. Original picture was even missing from where I placed it. Re-downloaded and hasn't reverted back to windows 10 default background so far. Mostly curious if the picture randomly corrupted. 3. Random things in recycling bin. I randomly noticed StarCraft2 saves in my recycling bin. The problem is I had to google the game to even know what it is. Only thing I came up with is that maybe it's the account I'm using though I may be an idiot when it comes to this. I just recieved the brand new Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse G700 today from Newegg. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and it is working, except for the fact that I can not see it in Setpoint 6.15 to configure buttons and etc. I would assume its so new that the latest software doesn't support it, seeing how I was unable to register it because it wasn't on the device listing. Does anyone have any insight on this? Hopefully and update comes soon so I can actually use the currently useless 6 buttons.

One small unrelated issue that logitech should fix on the site is when you are searching for mice, the g700 will appear if you have it set to show only unifying devices. I stumbled across this mouse looking for mice that use the unifying reciever. It popped up and I didnt check twice. Not a huge problem, just 1 more dongle plugged in. It did have me scratching my head for a few minutes when trying to install it though.

I'm looking into buying a "Rosewill Silicon Image RC-209-EX PCI External e-SATA x2/ Internal SATA x4 1.5G HDD Controller Card" and maybe im just losing it from staying up all night hardware shopping but the pci connector looked odd to me. Researching it I see that it is a Universal pci card, for 2.3 pci, compatible with 33mhz or 66 mhz.

Now my mobo has only 2.2 pci's but as i understand it 2.3 universal cards are backwards compatible with 2.2 slots, and since the card has 33mhz and 66mhz functionality, the only concern would be its voltage, which i do not know, but which seems from my research to be fine either way since 2.2 supports 3.3volts which is what 2.3 pci's are.

just wanted to double check before i shelled out the cash, that this card would probabliy work in my system.

well i just bought it, will let you know how it works

Yes, I would expect it to work.

I've just found a bargain of a XFX 8800GTX XXX and the question I have is whether it's compatible with a BFG 8800GTX OC2 in SLi mode?

The XFX card has a central clock of ~4mhz more than the BFG, but I suppose that either downclocking the XFX or overclocking the BFG should solve the problem with different clocks. The rest is the same.

Well, what do you people think?
If you help me out with this I'll become more active in the forum again

A:Are these cards compatible in SLi?

Hard to say, but I'd expect they wouldn't be compatible in SLI.

Nvidia says that as long as the actual GPU chip is the same model and revision, and the memory is the same, then they should be compatible. However many people have stated that combining different manufacturers cards, regardless of specs, just doesn't jive.

IMO - Unless the cards are 100% identical, you're not guaranteed that it will work.

I'm sure that's not what you really wanted to hear, but it is what it is, I guess. Bottom line, they may work, but don't count on it.

Hello! My computer recently took a dive beyond my ability to repair myself. I just purchased a new tower from ebay to replace it, this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290753930263?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I know its nothing fancy and I don't care much to hear "oh you should have just spent 700 dollars on this computer or that computer because the one you bought is junk" that seems to be the response I've gotten from people on other websites after asking this question. I have an Asus republic of gamers laptop that I use for my real system intensive games, all I really want to be able to run nice on this new desktop is WoW and similar games, maybe left 4 dead and bioshock, that type of thing.

Anyhow - My original plan with this "new" desktop was to take my 4 gigs of ram (2 2gb sticks) and my video card ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161252 ) out of my now broken pc and simply put them into the "new" desktop. But I am looking at the pictures of the inside of tower (on the ebay page i linked above) and it seems to me that I will not be able to fit my card into the PCIe slot, It appears in the picture that the case fan is going to be in the way of the fan assembly on the video card. That card should be good enough as a basic upgrade, that is if you have upgraded the the PSU too. 300W is not nearly enought, you neeed 450W minimum otherwise you will get problems.

Am I right in presuming that a 7800GTX 256mb card could not be SLI'd to an 8800 Ultra?

Are only other 8 series cards compatible with an 8800? Are there other restrictions that apply?

Thanks guys!

A:What cards are compatible with 8800 Ultra (SLI)?

SLI requires that both the cards have the same GPU. Clock speeds, memory sizes and third-party manufacturers may differ, but the GPU must be the same. So an 8800 Ultra can only be paired with another 8800 Ultra and a 7800GTX with another 7800GTX.
As for restrictions, they're more like requirements. You'd need to have a mobo supporting SLI obviously, in addition to a PSU able to supply enough juice for the two cards. Also, you might need extra cooling as well, especially if they're hot-running cards like the 8800 series. That's about it really.

i am in the market for a new video card, looking at spending roughly around $300. My question will any of the current cards out NOW support directX10 when it comes out? or does it have to say in the specs of the card if it will support it or not?

I read an article about how DX10 will increase the performance of games 6 to 8 times, thats huge. I don't want to buy an expensive card now and just find out in January that I have to buy ANOTHER card to just get DX10?

A:Current cards compatible with DX10?

The GeForce 8000 series cards are DX10 ready. Here's the cheapest one I could find:

Hello again. I am looking for a WLAN card that is compatible with a Dell Latitude D500 running Windows XP. Peferably ones that don't need a driver install, if possible. Because I want to install an antivirus, and go on this site, Twitter, io game websites, and typing sites like NitroType or typing.com.

Thought you would like to know what sites I wanted to go on XP. F I even can.

HELPPPPPPPPPP... I'm SO sorry, this is a long post...My AMD 6670 graphics card died on my 4 year old HP - the motherboard is a M3970AM-HP (Angelica2), my PC - HP Pavilion Elite h8-1150z CTO... 460watt PSU...I had an old GeForce 8500 GT in another PC, so I installed that one & got the computer to work for a couple weeks, after that I started getting the dreaded "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 342.01 stopped responding and has successfully recovered." It was doing it every half hour or so, then in the past several days it became literally every 2 seconds, then it started the BSOD, & cycling, not starting at all & after that I could only get it to boot in safe mode...So assuming I needed to buy a new graphics card & not being very hardware savvy (I THOUGHT I had done a good job researching what WOULD work in my system) I purchased the new EVGA GTX 1050 TI SC, I installed it this past weekend & now my PC's stuck at "Press the ESC key for Startup Menu" blue HP screen, it will not start, & if I hit the ESC key it brings me to a black screen with white text listing some specs & something about BIOS & if I hit the esc key in that window it just adds another white text line - "Press the ESC key for Startup Menu"...I've been reading that maybe updating a BIOS would fix it, so this morning I found & updated the BIOS, well it still will not start with the EVGA GTX 1050 TI, BUT I tried putting the old GeForce 8500 GT back in, ... I built a computer for a friend whos mother board went bad (old AT computer). The new computer worked great at my place. when he
plugged in his older monitor It went black. He had another one kicking around and he was able to get it to come up with 16 colors etc. but it wouldn't shut down when you shut down the computer. He had to download the drivers for the video card to get the resolution back. the video card is a PNY GForce4mx440 with 64megs of DDR RAM. Is there an issue with older monitors and newer video cards? Can one hurt the other? Thanks in advance for the help.

A:Are old monitors compatible with new video cards?

The only thing I see that would be a problem with an older monitor is that you may have trouble finding the right driver for the monitor and and older monitor doesn't have as many hours left as a new one.

Hello, I have a p7-1234 with an upgraded power supply running an AMD r7-250 2gb GPU. I would like to know what the most powerful, best card that I can use with this older computer. Thank you for your help!

A:Looking for a list of compatible Graphics cards

Coolartcaleb, welcome to the forum. HP doesn't have a list of video cards that are compatible with their computers.  However, newer cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  There is no way to upgrade the the BIOS to UEFI. The last video cards that didn't require UEFI are the GT 640's.  Your best option is to choose a manufacturer and contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your computer. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I have now managed to dual boot my older Toshiba L10 with XP and Windows 7.

The existing Wireless LAN card is not compatible with the Windows 7 partition and I am using an external wireless usb.

Does anyone have any recommendations on an internal wireless card that I can buy that can replace the existing one and is both compatible with XP and Windows 7 32-bit? Is it easy to replace one card with another?

A:Satellite Pro L10 - What WLAN cards are compatible?

Hardware upgrade on mobile machines is very limited and most information you can get about supported upgrade for HDD or RAM. Upgrade for all other hardware components is not supported so there is actually no info about hardware compatibility.

Nobody here can offer you the list with 100% compatible WLAN cards.
Which WLAN card is inside of your old L10?
Have you tried to install WLAN drivers from Toshiba Wlan portal - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

Download driver from there and install it. maybe this will help you to get WLAN card working properly.

have recently come into posession of ati pci express 700 video card will it fit into my dimensions e-310, if not what is the best gaming card that will and where might I find a place to trade the ati card? ,not looking to spend alot $100.00 or less preferably..want to run games like fear and some of the aeria.games online games without texture and lighting problems.will take even up trade on good card that will fit this machine.

A:Compatible video cards for Dimension e-310

Your system has a pci-e x1 slot, while almost all video cards use the pci-e x16 slot. So if you have a x16 card it won't physically fit in the x1 slot. (unless you use an adapter, or melt the connector to allow larger cards to fit)

There is a very limited selection of pci-e x1 cards available. Of the cards that are easy to buy and in your price range, the x1550 pci-e x1 would probably be best. There are better cards(7300gt, 8400gs, etc), but they are either more money or hard to find.

Also, you could get a pci video card, like the 8500gt.
