Q: Compatible wireless AC cards for Lenovo G700 labto...

Hello All I am trying to find out if there is any wireless AC cards that will work with Lenovo G700 series Labtop. I am not sure where to look or how to find out the current card manufature ID or if there is a list of approved wireless AC cards Lenovo knows will work with this machine. If any one has any idea please let me know so I can upgrade. I love this machine and would like to get better wireless speeds.

Preferred Solution: Compatible wireless AC cards for Lenovo G700 labto...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello and welcome,

The whitelisted (model + Lenovo FRU required) WLAN cards are shown on page 72 of the Hardware Maintenance Manual - Lenovo G700, G710

I don't see any AC cards listed.

Your best bet may be a USB wireless AC adapter. Not ideal perhaps, but inexpensive.

I've had a G700 running Windows 8.1 for a few years now. Recently I've been experiencing a problem where I'll suddenly lose wireless connection and get the troubleshooting message that "the default gateway is not avaible". It's a very frequent problem (according to my troubleshooting log it's happened over 200 times this month) and I'd really, really like to be rid of it. I'm using a Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. I saw some people with similar issues, and I've already changed the power setting so the computer can't turn off the driver to save power. It didn't help. I saw some suggestions to lower the adapter's "roaming aggeression" under the advanced tab, but I don't have that option (I do have "Roaming tendency" which I set to moderate but again, it didn't seem to help). The only thing I can think to do next might be to reinstall the whole driver, but I wanted to see what the nice folks here suggested. So yeah. Lenovo G700. Broadcom 802.11n. Windows 8.1. Randomly losing wireless connection because the default network gateway is unavalible. Any suggestions?

I purchased an Asus Geforce GTX 750ti graphgics card to install in my Lenein H50 50 PC. On the store's website it said that the maxmium wattage output that the pc required to run that graphics card was 150 watt. On the graphics card box it says the munimum requirement is 400 watt. Is this going to be OK? Also, in terms of physically installing it, thew card requires a free PCI express slot. I know nothing about the internal workings of PCs but when I opened up the case, I do not see anything thet resembles a PCI express slot. If this card is not compatible, can anyone suggestr a similar card that would be. Thanks, Paul

A:Compatible Lenovo h50 graphic cards?

It looks like that should work. Your power supply can handle it, and I see a PCI express slot on your computer's motherboard on the hardware manual. I'll suggest to get it from a retailer with retun policy, just in case it doesn't

Apologies if this has been asked before. I purchased a Lenovo H-50 - 55 computer last month (90bg003jus) and I need to add a new graphics card.  I'm trying to figure out which kinds are compatible with my unit since I hate having to go back to the store and exchanging them (it's an all-day trip from where I live). What sort of card (preferrably AMD since everything on this computer was designed by them) should I be looking for?

Hello, I dont know much about computers so I'll try my best to explain this in the best terms possible. After checking my systems specs I realized I have an okay computer for playing games. I have a 12 GB RAM and an intel i5-3270T CPU core in my computer, that fits in an about 11x11x4 inch case. The one thing is I have a regular Intel graphics card (with a 1792 MB total memory, and a 96 MB VRAM). I know thats not great for playing games and my low frame rate in computer games proves that. I wanted to know what graphics cards are compatible with my system or at least what I should look into before making a choice. Thank you.

Today I tried installing an Intel 9560ngw Wireless-AC/Bluetooth 5.0 CNVi card in a friend's Lenovo Yoga 720 which was having WiFi range issues.  We discovered upon opening the laptop that the black antenna wire was not connected to his Yoga 720's Intel 8265ngw WiFi card, and this was causing the range issue, not a defective card.  However, we had the Intel 9560ngw CNVi card, and those cards aren't that expensive, so we decided to replace the 8265ngw with the 9560ngw anyway, since the laptop has a M.2:CNVio card slot.   After installing the 9560ngw card in the Yoga 720 we found that it would not show up in device manager, and no installation or edition of Intel drivers would get the card to work or be recognized.  We had to reinstall his 8265ngw card with bluetooth 4.2 (poo ). It appears the Yoga 720 has the CNVi slot but no CNVi compatibility.  Could be why it ships with a M.2 8265ngw wifi card.  Has anyone had success installing a CNVi WiFi card in a Lenovo Yoga 720?  Perhaps my friend had too old a Bios version?

Which wireless dual (2.4/5GHz) card is compactible with Satellite A660-166?

I`ve tried couple of them but none of them worked.

A:Satellite A660-166 and compatible Wireless dual Cards

Generally speaking WLAN card upgrade is not supported so there is no public document or any info about ?compatible WLAN cards?.
On this forum you can find several threads about WLAN card upgrade but I don't think you will be so lucky and find info related to Satellite A660.

Maybe stupid question now but why do you want to exchange original WLAN card? Is it defective maybe?

I acquired a Dell XPS 8900 Special Edition Desktop
(i7-6700; 16Gb ram; Win10; Gtx960; Dell Wireless 802.11 b/g/n).
I want to upgrade the wireless card to enable a 5GHz-AC connection to my ASUS RT AC87U router.
It looks like usb wireless adapters suffer from disconnection and break downs along the way (got this from reading reviews on amazon)
Can anyone recommend a few new AC wireless cards compatible with this desktop? (head about the Intel 7260 but I dont know if there are newer ones).
Thanks in advance!

Hi. I got a 2-3 year old Lenovo Yoga 500-14ACL laptop, Machine Type Model: 80NA002MMX, with the newest BIOS firmware from Lenovo, in which I got a Linux distro installed to a partition.  My only problem is, the WiFi does not work, as there are no drivers available for this card on Linux systems. I tried as a last resort to use a program called "ndiswrapper" to install the windows driver in my Linux distro with the help from Linux professionals, sadly it did not work. Now my only chance is to purchase a new WiFi card compatible with Linux distros (not a USB WiFi plug), so my question is, where is that "whitelist" which Lenovo has implemented into the BIOS online? I have searched online, but I cannot find a list containing compatible cards. I see many users has purchased cards previously without being aware that Lenovo reject certain cards, and that is exactly what many users report, the card is rejected by the BIOS, and the users are left with a card they can not use. Before I order a new WiFi card, I want to make sure the card I order is compatible in my laptop. I came from the store I bought the pc today, and the techicians there were very surpised that Lenovo in fact had such a list in their BIOS, and they were not aware about it until I informed them. They told me that all they could do is to contact Lenovo directly by mail, so they recommended I did that myself, in which this forum post is all about. What WiFi cards are in the BIOS'... A:Lenovo G700 BlueTooth issue

Have you physically looked at the hardware (Wireless Card) and ran the units serial / model / part numbers thru Google to see if it does in fact have bluetooth?  I ask this as the listing you link to states the bluetooth module is "optional" rather than included as fact.
I would also recommend that you download your service / maintenance manual from the Lenovo Support tab of this website and look at the listing of parts for WiFi and bluetooth, which you can use as a "reference" tool to see exactly what part is in your notebook.
Once you have this information, post back and we will see what we can do to assist you with further troubleshooting.

Hello. After taking my laptop apart again I realized I can actually add another ram stick but I'm not sure if it's worth doing. I'm aware that I have to get a Crucial 4g or 8g SODIMM DDR3 stick to go with/replace my 4g  stick that came with the laptop with a total cap of 16g to upgrade to. However given the limitations of the G700 I'm unsure if adding more RAM will be worth doing as I'm saving for a real PC. Is it going to be worth the $30-$100 to increase my RAM or should I just wait until I build my PC. I play a modderatly modded Civilization 6, Mount&Blade Warband, and other less taxing games. Other than nearly 100% freezing the laptop (requiring holding the power button) a few times, low settings, and used to mouse delay/low fps in some cases it's still playable imo Any opinions are welcome and thx for your time

My Lenovo G700, which is a week old, is saying that it is "plugged in, not charging". It was working fine until last night when I closed the lid to put it into sleep mode for the first time. I have checked that it is set to maximum battery life and it is still not working. It's stuck on 98%. I am severely disappointed that something like this has happened a week into having my first Lenovo. I hope someone can help me rectify this problem.

A:Lenovo G700 Plugged In Not Charging

hi Zadeth,
Welcome to the Forums.
Can you try to:
1. Turn off the machine and remove the AC adapter and battery
2. Hold the power button for 10secs then plug the AC adapter back in.
3. Turn the computer ON and when it gets to Windows, slide the battery back in place and observe the charge.
Alternatively, try to use the battery charge until it asks you to plug the AC adapter and observe if the charge goes all the way to 100%.
Let me know your findings

Even after reinstalling the synaptics driver we are unable to see any of the extra management items in the mouse areathatwould allow us to alter anything with the touchpad. I am even unable to disable the mouse on ps/2 port in device manager. All other function keys work except F6 (or Fn-F6) Does anyone have any suggestions what the issue could be or how I can get the touchpad disabled without physically unplugging the thing from the motherboard? Unit is less than 2 months old and this is really an irritation. Thanks,Wayne

I have an odd problem were the G700 takes 1 to 20 minutes to post/boot. 1.  Turn the G700 on.2.  The camera light goes on.3.  There is some fan noise.4.  Wait 1 to 20 minutes5.  Windows boot sequence kicks in.6. G700 runs as normal. I have booted to the usb UFEI and ran 5 hours of tests without issue.  Note it took about 10 minutes for the G700 to post/boot to USB drive. Booting to UFEi has the same issue.  Windows shutdown is fast.  No errors in the boot logs. I did perform a software reset to optimized default in bios but that did not solve the issue.  Attempted to reflash the bios, but there is only one version of the bios available and I did not figure out how to force a reflash over the same version.  Is there a way to had reset the bios via a pin? Any other thoughts on a resolution to this?

Hi!I have problem with lenovo g700. A few months ago my display has broken, it turned out when i push harder in keyboard section where are keys like I, O, P, J, K, L my display lights up. So I thought that it must have been tape from display backlight. When i unscreawed keyboard screws and unattached a keyboard then everything seemd to be working. But unfortunately it didn't. Laptop does not turn on. When I click power button it seems like it has power because power diode is on, but can't turn on. I checked all tapes and and power button is working because when I hold it for a few seconds the power diode turns off. Also, when i plug power supply it turns power diode. I tried also every magic trick with unhooking ram and turning without power supply and battery. Maybe I damaged something while repairing but it seems like on motherboard there is no scrathes at all, thin layer of dust ( I think i could see scratches from screwdriver ). What should I do? Thank you in advance.

Hi,My G700 is three years old, on W8, no problem until now. When I put it in sleep mode, it starts back immediately when I press a key or raise the cover. But if I put it in full power off, it goes off but then, I have to wait between one up to three hours recently, to get Windows start screen. I mean the power starts, fan starts, disk Led is on (battery Led too), but nothing else, the screen is off (so black). The case is not as other "black screen" cases, where the screen stays black whatever they do. In my case also I can do nothing to get Lenovo logo at power on, I cant enter Bios setup. I tried also to remove battery, power cord and press Power button to discharge condensators, then connect power cord, nothing but the fan and disk runing and disk led on. I just can wait one hour or more. The only explanation I can see, is one month ago, the first time it happened, I was using Avast free antivirus, and Avast did a new update. So I was thinking after this update, that Avast starts a long full scan at power on, so I removed Avast and activated Windows Defender. No problem when I used just sleep mode and wake up. But same problem when I put the comp in full power off.Maybe Windows Defender starts also a full scan at that time? Now I use only sleep mode ; yesterday I travelled for 10 hours, and the comp started immediately when I pressed a key! I will be pleased to have any advice from you.

Hi guys, I'm dealing with a problem which is currently (but I sincerely hope, not permanently) rendering my G700 useless. When I attempt to boot my PC it freezes at the Lenovo splash screen. I've waited ample amount of time but nothing appears to happen. One time I waited and managed to get into a Windows troubleshooting menu where I attempted to wipe the PC and start fresh, but this also froze at the lenovo screen soon after. Pressing the Novo button gives me 4 options but it appears to freeze, not allowing me to scroll through the options, or press enter. If I remove the harddrive it tells me to insert media and press OK, but once again, it appears to freeze as pressing enter doesn't do anything. I've tried booting from a USB stick but can't seem to get into any setting which would allow me to do this.I Removed DVD drive as I read on this forum that it was an issue with different Lenovo laptops, and since I don't use it anyway, decided to give it a go, but unfortunately nothing changed :-( If any kind soul could advise me with what I could possibly do, it be would be greatly appreciated as I'm dreading the thought of having to purchase a new laptop. Thanks :-)

The charger supplied with my Lenovo G700 recently stopped working completely (it was making a weird bleeping sound when plugged in as well), so I purchased another genuine Lenovo charger identical to the first. However, my laptop doesn't recognise that this is an authentic Lenovo product and keeps telling me that I'm using an 'unauthorised battery', so my laptop can only be plugged in, and not charging. So far I've been unable to find a suitable fix on google. I have been experiencing a few misc problems with this laptop and I am well aware that it is dying but I would like to know if any of this I can do a quick fix to help holding off till I finally can afford my gaming rig. 1. Restarting and shutting down can cause all audio and brightness control to no longer work. Usually after a a little while videos stop playing as well when audio goes out. Restarts usually a guarantee to do this when not fixing something. I go to device manager and unistall the audio parts and restart to fix that. I manually install a different driver to get my brightness control back whenever it stops working. I used to have this issue with my mic but that turned out to be damage from switching to windows 10 and back which is fixed now. 2. Background returned to windows 10 default as windows 8.1 . This only happened once but my background randomly changed from my game character to windows 10 default. Original picture was even missing from where I placed it. Re-downloaded and hasn't reverted back to windows 10 default background so far. Mostly curious if the picture randomly corrupted. 3. Random things in recycling bin. I randomly noticed StarCraft2 saves in my recycling bin. The problem is I had to google the game to even know what it is. Only thing I came up with is that maybe it's the account I'm using though I may be an idiot when it comes to this. I just recieved the brand new Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse G700 today from Newegg. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and it is working, except for the fact that I can not see it in Setpoint 6.15 to configure buttons and etc. I would assume its so new that the latest software doesn't support it, seeing how I was unable to register it because it wasn't on the device listing. Does anyone have any insight on this? Hopefully and update comes soon so I can actually use the currently useless 6 buttons.

One small unrelated issue that logitech should fix on the site is when you are searching for mice, the g700 will appear if you have it set to show only unifying devices. I stumbled across this mouse looking for mice that use the unifying reciever. It popped up and I didnt check twice. Not a huge problem, just 1 more dongle plugged in. It did have me scratching my head for a few minutes when trying to install it though.

I'm looking into buying a "Rosewill Silicon Image RC-209-EX PCI External e-SATA x2/ Internal SATA x4 1.5G HDD Controller Card" and maybe im just losing it from staying up all night hardware shopping but the pci connector looked odd to me. Researching it I see that it is a Universal pci card, for 2.3 pci, compatible with 33mhz or 66 mhz.

Now my mobo has only 2.2 pci's but as i understand it 2.3 universal cards are backwards compatible with 2.2 slots, and since the card has 33mhz and 66mhz functionality, the only concern would be its voltage, which i do not know, but which seems from my research to be fine either way since 2.2 supports 3.3volts which is what 2.3 pci's are.

just wanted to double check before i shelled out the cash, that this card would probabliy work in my system.

well i just bought it, will let you know how it works

A:PCI 2.2 compatible with PCI 2.3 cards?

I've just found a bargain of a XFX 8800GTX XXX and the question I have is whether it's compatible with a BFG 8800GTX OC2 in SLi mode?

The XFX card has a central clock of ~4mhz more than the BFG, but I suppose that either downclocking the XFX or overclocking the BFG should solve the problem with different clocks. The rest is the same.

Well, what do you people think?
If you help me out with this I'll become more active in the forum again

A:Are these cards compatible in SLi?

Hard to say, but I'd expect they wouldn't be compatible in SLI.

Nvidia says that as long as the actual GPU chip is the same model and revision, and the memory is the same, then they should be compatible. However many people have stated that combining different manufacturers cards, regardless of specs, just doesn't jive.

IMO - Unless the cards are 100% identical, you're not guaranteed that it will work.

I'm sure that's not what you really wanted to hear, but it is what it is, I guess. Bottom line, they may work, but don't count on it.

OK, this is like the 500th message I have posted all around the web, and I have the feeling that THIS one will solve my problem!!

Last week I had to dump my Windows 98 from my HP Pavilion 6730. Because I did not have the reinstall disks given to me from HP, I did a standard reinstall from a friend's disk. I cannot get my multimedia device to work, and I'm not sure where to find, or what is the correct driver for this system.

Hello! My computer recently took a dive beyond my ability to repair myself. I just purchased a new tower from ebay to replace it, this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290753930263?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I know its nothing fancy and I don't care much to hear "oh you should have just spent 700 dollars on this computer or that computer because the one you bought is junk" that seems to be the response I've gotten from people on other websites after asking this question. I have an Asus republic of gamers laptop that I use for my real system intensive games, all I really want to be able to run nice on this new desktop is WoW and similar games, maybe left 4 dead and bioshock, that type of thing.

Anyhow - My original plan with this "new" desktop was to take my 4 gigs of ram (2 2gb sticks) and my video card ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161252 ) out of my now broken pc and simply put them into the "new" desktop. But I am looking at the pictures of the inside of tower (on the ebay page i linked above) and it seems to me that I will not be able to fit my card into the PCIe slot, It appears in the picture that the case fan is going to be in the way of the fan assembly on the video card. Would it maybe be an option to relocate the case fan a little bit just to get it out of the way of my video card? Or am I going to have to fork out money for a new skinnier video card? If so, can anyone giv... Read more

Elder Scrolls Online PC Requirements: ( https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/26031 )

This is everything that i believe you need to know for my question. I want to know, what type of graphics cards am I able to use with my PC? I only ask because I was told certain graphics cards are not compatible with certain motherboards. All my PC information is in those 2 links. I also ask because my tower is quite slim compared to most, and I'm not sure if size matters in this situation. I'm not very computer literate.

So, what type of graphics cards can I get? I would like to upgrade mine. Mainly because when I try to play games, I get through the entire downloading phase and then i get an error saying something about my DirectX. I have DirectX 11.1 but I get this error: "Your DirectX version is unsupported."

The game I'm trying to play is Elder Scrolls Online. I have a link to the game's requirements at the top so you can compare it to what I currently have and maybe be able to tell me what the issue is? Basically, I'm looking at the game's "minimum requirements" and it looks as if I have everything but I don't really know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. An... Read more

Recently installed Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Everything works fine except my Belkin F5D5005 v2000 network card.

There are no drivers for it on the Belkin site and none of the older vista drivers work.

Is there a list somewhere of NIC's that are compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit since it looks like I'll need to buy a new one.

The on board network point on my motherboard works fine (realtek NIC on an Asus Fatality fp-in9 SLI mobo) but has been faulty for some time now.

Any advice?

A:PCI Network cards - which are compatible?

Welcome footwo, here's a link but you might want to pick out a model and check the manufacture's website to see if they are posting w7 drivers before you commit.

Ran the scan to to see if laptop was compatible to upgrade to MS 10. It said everything checked out so I went for it.  My video cards don't seem to be compatible. I've updated drivers and nothing. Unfortunately, I waited to long to revert back and now cannot figure how to get back to MS 7 without losing everything. Any ideas? I have an integrated ATI Radeon HD3200 Graphics and i'm interested in getting a video card to put in. Does it have to be a ATI brand or would any brand work? The system is a Gateway DX4200-09. Any comments would be appreciated. Also I tried putting in a GeForce 9600 GT but after a while the screen freezes while gaming and I have to restart the whole computer.

A:Compatible Video Cards

That card should be good enough as a basic upgrade, that is if you have upgraded the the PSU too. 300W is not nearly enought, you neeed 450W minimum otherwise you will get problems.

Have you upgraded the PSU?

I built a computer for a friend whos mother board went bad (old AT computer). The new computer worked great at my place. when he
plugged in his older monitor It went black. He had another one kicking around and he was able to get it to come up with 16 colors etc. but it wouldn't shut down when you shut down the computer. He had to download the drivers for the video card to get the resolution back. the video card is a PNY GForce4mx440 with 64megs of DDR RAM. Is there an issue with older monitors and newer video cards? Can one hurt the other? Thanks in advance for the help.

A:Are old monitors compatible with new video cards?

The only thing I see that would be a problem with an older monitor is that you may have trouble finding the right driver for the monitor and and older monitor doesn't have as many hours left as a new one.

I am trying to upgrade my video card. I purchased GTX 750 TI and a new 500W power supply, but I couldn't get it to work. I did some research and found that there could be some bios compatibility issues, and the newer video cards may not work with the older Cleveland motherboards.  I will be returning the card and power supply if I can't make them work. My computer still works fine with the old video card for the most part, but I am having some video card related issues when trying to run some apps. What would be the best/most powerful video card that will work with the IPISB-CH Cleveland motherboard? I don't mind upgrading the power supply if needed. I am not trying to do any crazy gaming or anything. I just need to replace what I have with something that works pretty well, so I don't have to replace my whole PC. Product Number : LC120AV#ABAHP Pavilion Elite HPE 570tCPU: Intel Core i7-26008GB RamMB: IPISB-CH Cleveland v1.04Current Video Card: GeForce GT 440

A:Which graphics cards are compatible with my motherboard?

You can't always tell with brand manufacturers since sometimes they will have the MB makers modify their boards. However, in this case it looks like any of the AGP video cards will be compatible with the MB. Where you will have to watch things is the card's power requirements. Many of the brands will have a PS on the small (meaning output) size.
