Regarding the BSOD's

There are a ton of minidumps in c:\windows\minidump, and I am waiting to clear up Spyware/Malware issues before analyzing them using dumpcheck and the Windows debugging tools.

I can't say with any confidence that the IE crashes, poor system performance, and the BSOD's are related or unrelated.

Preferred Solution: IE Crashing & BSOD's & reduced performance

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: IE Crashing & BSOD's & reduced performance

Hello ford66,

I'm not seeing anything malicious in this log and the error messages you posted are related to your Operating system and Wireless Networking Card.

There are however, a few entries we can fix in the log.

From Normal Mode:

Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan Only'. Check the following entries if they exist (make sure you do not miss any)

Click 'Fix Checked' and close HijackThis.

-----------------------------------

Reboot your system.

----------------------------------

Although the tools and scans you ran previously didn't come up with much, let's double-check and run a scan with Panda and see if it finds anything.

Perform an online scan using Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan
** click on "Free use ActiveScan" located on the top right hand corner Click Check Now & a 'pop up' window shall appear. *ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it
Enter your e-mail address, country, and state & click Scan Now ...begins downloading 8 MB Panda's ActiveX controls
Begin the scan by selecting My Computer If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report.
Please ignore any entry it finds and wants you to buy the program for removal as we will address this later.
Click on see report. Then click Save report

Post the Panda results here along with a new HijackThis log. (Please turn Wordwrap 'Off' in Notepad before posting it here.

Hello guys. Recently I've bought I PowerColor ATI HD 6790 1 GB DDR5 video card. My old one was the 4670 version, though it was from Gigabyte. And oddly enough, my performance seems to have been reduced.

This is my current setup

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+
PowerColor Ati HD 6790 1GB DDR5
ECS GF8100VM-M5
Lc-Power LC 420H-12
Western Digital 500gb Sata2 7200 Rpm 32mb Buffer
3,00 GB RAM
TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S203B ATA

What could be causing this and what would be the solution?

Thank you

A:Reduced Performance

No one got a clue?

I've had a lot of reduced performance with my system lately, in addition to a lot of windows error messages for some reason. I just un-installed a handful of anti-spyware/malware apps because I had way too many.
Now I'm left with HJT, MalwareBytes (w/ active protection), TuneUp2009, ZoneAlarm, & Spyware Blaster
Is this sufficient protection?
Applications load up much slower and the start is lagged.
Otherwise I haven't had too many issues, a couple crashes few and far between.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello,

I use my work PC mainly for developing an application in VB.NET using Visual Studio standard 2008. Up until a couple of weeks ago the system has run perfectly but during the last wee while ive noticed it takes ages to boot. And running even more than one or two applications cripples the machine to the point where your waiting around for 60seconds + for outlook to load.

PC SPEC:
Intel Core2 6400 @ 2.13GHz
2.00GB RAM
Vista Business 64-bit
System rating = 4.9
Anything untoward in this HJT log?

Today I've noticed a significant reduction in my computers performance. I installed a fresh copy of spy sweeper and it came up with 2 pieces of malware

Mal/Generic A
Mal/Keygen C

unfortunately it keeps jamming up so it wont erase them. Any help scanning the system would be much appreciated.

Windows 7 Home Edition, standard HP desktop.

Btw I did install a video card upgrade today, dont know if that could have potentially effected things, but it has been runnning worse since.. went from 256mb integrated to 1gig ATI Sapphire HD4670..

Thanks,

A:reduced performance and possible Malware

Spy sweeper has at last work and cleared the Malware it has found, but the fact that there is any on here worry's me. None should exist.

I would really appreciate help doing thorough malware and virus scans to help optimize performance.

Thanks,
Pete

It takes about ~4 mintues to boot this laptop, inexplicable CPU usage. Though the usage isn't consistently bad. Today I experienced such taxed resource usage, that simply moving the cursor across the screen had a choppy latent effect. I'd move the cursor, and about 1-2 seconds later, it would move it's position on the screen. I have ran Ad-aware, and Spybot, and they removed only tracking cookies. Trendmicro housecall came up with nothing. Here is the HJT log:

Cry Performance reduced after reinstalling WinXP pro

I have just reinstalled my system (XP Pro) and updated it online to SP2. Authenticated updated and all. I haven't changed any hardware and in fact I reinstalled less software than before.
Since reinstallation and updating, I've noticed considerable deterioration on system performance, reflected e.g. on scroll speed (eg in Firefox and in Word & Excel. For firefox I've checked "smooth scrolling" it's off. Especially Word used to be up to 1page/sec while scrolling with arrow keys, now is down to 5-6 sec/page. Also: normally Word shows the page numbers (lower left corner) changing as you scroll - not anymore in my case. Page numbers remain change only after scrolling stops. Other example is when I move windows on the screen, movement is not spooth but rather jerky.
Any ideas?
My 2.66GHz machine is clean according to avast antivirus, spybot, adaware & adwatch, Netscape's own spyware scanner. Reg mechanic finds no problems. HD (40GB) is error free and cleaned-up and defragmented. Smooth scrolling options are off.
Thanks to anyone who could help.

Help with MS Office is another forum, so I can't hep you with Word settings.
As far as your general slowness issue: If it's slower now than it was before the re-install, then you did something different this time than you did previously. Try and think what that might be. I could sit here and guess all week and we might never stumble across it, there's just too many things that could affect performance.

I am reasonably computer-literate, at least to the point of maintaining an efficient and virus free computer to operate at top performance. Inexplicably, my gaming performance on applications which normally achieve steady frames in the 40's and 50's range are completely stuttering around 2-3. My computer is very well maintained, with a commit charge of 123, regularly defragged, registry cleaned, scanned for viruses, etc. I thought that it might be a case of conflicting drivers, and as such updated all of them, with the exception of my BIOS (was going to try but am out of floppy disks). The only other thing that I can think of besides a BIOS conflict is that in the add/remove programs list is a Client Hack 1.9.2d that cannot be removed, nor is it recognized when I do deep scans with kaspersky or bitdefender. it seems unlikely to me that one virus is drastically reducing my gaming performance, its possible that a particular setting on my computer is wrong, but I checked everything I know (including BIOS AGP aperture settings, etc). Please, any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated, as this has been driving me mad as I've been trying to remedy this on my own for the past few days.

Hello,

Week ago I bought new SSD drive. (OCZ Agility 3, 2.15 firmware)
I made fresh install of OS, newest drivers etc.
SSD and my system was working very well but I was disapointed to my SSD-benchmark results. Well I tried to increase performance by updating my motherboard bios. Bios update succeed but it didnt really increase performance of my ssd, new bios reduced writing performance notable. (MOBO = Asus m4a87td/usb, bios v.2001) AHCI is on.

What with that 103424? Shouldnt it be 1024? Previous score over 400 points, now just 300. (disappeared in picture)

Also noticed another problem. I can't boot my comp if I have external drive plugged in.
I just can't change my 1st device boot to agility drive in bios because it's not in the list of boot devices. Well I unplug external drive and its working. Also thought that bios update would fix it but it didnt.

A:SSD Performance reduced after BIOS update.

Your numbers are lower than most, but I don't know if it would be noticed in real life as opposed to a benchmark.

I think that 103424 is a reference to alignment. If it's evenly divisible by 4, it should be OK--and it is.

Not sure about the BIOS/external drive issue. Was the external connected when you did the clean install to the SSD?

One way or another, I'd make sure all boot files were on the SSD and that it appeared in the BIOS and was bootable, regardless of whether the external was plugged in.

Hi,

This problem has me completely baffeled. I'm not even sure if this is the right forum to be posting in. (If you can suggest a forum better related to topic please do).

Recently I noticed my whole system being slower and more sluggish. Especially playing games. I checked my windows experience index and it had changed from 6.5 to 2.9.

The only scores in the list that have changed signifigantly are my cpu (now at 2.3) and my memory access(2.9).

This happend to me once before about 6 months ago. In the end I updated my dell bios from a10 to a11 and my score went up to 6.5 and my performance was percieveably improved.

Now I dont understand why (what seems like the same problem) has happened again.

I'd be very grateful if somebody could help me figure out why my system has suddenly slowed down so drastically.

Thanks,

dub

A:CPU and memory performance suddenly drastically reduced

Take a look at Task Manager when it is running slow. Look at processes to see what is taking up RAM and CPU cycles.

Does it boot as quickly as before?

I wouldn't expect a BIOS change to improve things.

Look at Resource Monitor to see how much RAM you are using at any particular time.

Have you done any tests of your RAM or hard drive to confirm they are OK?

How confident are you that you have no viruses or malware?

I replaced my battery and charger a year back. The laptop was was also replaced about 2 months ago.

In the last 1 week, I have noticed that my laptop is always heated and overheats even when I play any low graphic games .This I presumed was because of a battery/power issue which caused the laptop to lag/hang. Henceforth, I ran an energy diagnostic test on my system and came up with the follwing results (I will post them below this paragraph).

Hi

Yes, low free space on the C drive is a problem here. Experts recommends at lease 15% free space in the OS partition for proper system operation. Other than the free space issue, there might be additional problems in your system such as malwares, failing or old aging hard dive etc. Please try the below steps.

Transfer all the data that can be moved from C to D partition. Free up maximum space as you can.

Download and run TFC to clean all kind of temp files.

      http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/tfc/

 Uninstall unused applications.

Open Control Panel --> Programs and uninstall all the software which you never used. They only help to eat hard drive space and slowing down Windows by adding unnecessary services.

To detect and uninstall bloatwares pre-loaded by laptop manufacturer, you can use the free program PC Decrapifier.

     http://pcdecrapifier.com/

Use Microsoft Security Essentials as the antivirus solution.

Most of the third party AV programs are huge resource hogs and known to slow down  systems. Microsoft's own AV program MSE requires very low system resources and works very well with Windows. I highly recommends uninstalling your current antivirus completely and use MSE instead.

So, I'm at school and I receive a text from my mother stating that she is receiving porn popups and that google results are sending her off to random pages. This isn't uncommon because no one in my family understands computers anymore than your average secretary (no offense, but let's be honest. lol)... That being said, I went over and ran a few scans as I normally do which tends to clean it up fairly well. I begin by running HiJackThis and looking through it's logs and then looking at the startup items...

During this processes, I noticed several suspicious files that definitely did not belong. I then made sure to update the definitions on the current AV installed (BitDefender) and ran a scan with it. Afterwards, I continued to run Malwarebytes AntiMalware and SuperAntiSpyware. All 3 of them came back with results of finding several trojans... After running those, cleaning with them, rebooting, ect.. The popups were gone and the system was operating much more smoothly...

However, I got another text 2 days later, after returning to campus, that she was getting redirects again and BitDefender kept popping up several alerts about trojans... I should also note that ComboFix results in a BSOD everytime.

While you may see ComboFix being used quite often, and possibly you have used the tool yourself without incident, the tool should not be run unsupervised (as stated in the Disclaimer that is first displayed by ComboFix when you run the tool)

Going forward, I highly recommend you heed such instructions. As explained in Post 2 of our pre-posting topic...

Quote:

Why we don't ask you to run ComboFix from the onset

ComboFix is a very powerful tool which when improperly used may render your machine to a doorstop.

We first need to verify if there's any rootkits present and how they could affect our tools. DDS & GMER are preliminary scans. We use their logs to map our strategy for attack.

With these logs we can determine the infections present & decide whether to deploy ComboFix.

That being said, I'll need a log from another tool. Again, it's important you follow these instructions as given.

Please download aswMBR.exe and save it to your desktop.

Double click aswMBR.exe to start the tool. At this time, select No when prompted to download the Avast database.
Click Scan
Upon completion of the scan, click Save log and save it to your desktop, and post that log in your next reply for review. Note - do NOT attempt any Fix yet.

Dear TSG & co.

I've been working on a huge doc in word (w/images)... Since it has grown (78 pages = 14'600kb), problems.

1) Track-changes was activated by default; seeing this as a potential source of problems, I deactivated in word. However, evertime I save and then open doc on another pc, the track changes reappear & doc is increased to 100+ pages of text & images. I believe this has blocked my pc (ASUS pro5di, windows 7, Office 2010) and corrupted or lost data.

Since starting with this doc, I realized that every time I create a new word doc, it opens as a very narrow page on the left side of the screen. It isn't the zoom: zoom was at 100% and when I increased it, I had to increase to over 200% to read any text.

Any ideas?

The other day I was trying to get rid of an account no longer used on my computer, an HP Media Center m7684v with XP Media Center Ed, 2.13 Core 2 Duo. So I went to the control panel, did everything, and chose to keep the files. The computer instantly froze, crashed, and restarted. It works fine, until I do that. I'd really like to get rid of the account, as it's wasting space, and I seem to remember the computer booted up and ran much more quickly with only two accounts (it's at about 2 minutes now, and even my iMac G4 700, already past obsolescence, is embarassing it, it's so sluggish). I ran Norton Security, Spybot S+D, Kaspersky's, came up with no viruses. Defragged twice, not a problem. Deleted about 100 GB of files. But when I try to remove the account, the computer freezes and crashes, no blue screen, just reboot normally back into Windows. I'd be happy to just use my Power Mac G5 running Leopard, but the HP is my dad's main machine.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I don't have a WinXP CD, as it came preinstalled. Recovery Console comes preinstalled as well, as does System Recovery. Tried both of them to no avail. Any suggestions you could give that wouldn't require purchase of a new disc, reformat, and reinstall? Thanks.

EDIT: To make matters worse, I did System Recovery again, and it rendered my system unbootable. Only starting in safe mode.

Contents of problem folder: It has a performance/safety subfolder w/ programs like Avast, malwarebytes, ADWcleaner, CCleaner, SAS, etc. I recently deleted iObit programs like smart defrag and ASC. This folder also has/had some basic programs like spotify, foxit reader (I deleted some to see if they were the problem; they weren't).

I built a desktop computer for myself about 6 years ago and it has been running fairly smoothly up until last month. I try to keep it pretty lean and it is still fast enough for what I need despite its age. I first noticed there was a problem when I got a "blue screen of death" upon installing the TIVO video server software. However, it didn't really start giving me trouble until about two weeks ago when I first turned it on after moving into my new apartment.

At first, it was just a little slower then usual. Then it started crashing on me pretty regularly. The wheels seem to have really fallen off last week after I upgraded my iTunes and the software on my iPhone. It is now crashing all the time. I have been trying to narrow it down to a few things that could be causing the crashes, but they are too frequent to really single any one program or process out.

I have had this ThinkPad for a little over two months, and to my desmay it has been performing very poorly, and constantly crashing. I only use it for business and school, I'm not running anything crazy on it. However I do have Adobe after effects, and photoshop, but the poor performance happens while using simple programs such as excel, word, etc. Please advice.

Hi, hoping for some help. I'm not very computer savvy.

For at least the past 6+ months my computer has been running reasonably fast with no issues. I've been using Chrome as my browser and I had many many tabs open then all of a sudden Chrome crashed and I lost all my tabs, a bit upsetting but my own fault for keeping so many tabs open.

Since then the entire compuer seems to be running slower than ever and the memory and CPU readings are higher than usual. As soon as I try opening Chrome it immediately saying Google Chrome has stopped working and closes. It just wont open even after I deleted and reinstalled it. I ran Malwarebytes which I run on occasion and it found no issues.

I went back to using Firefox which I used before and it always worked well but it's now extrmely slow and barely responds, sometimes closing also. I'm not sure what I did to cause this, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

*I hope this is the right section, this seemed to be the best fit of all the options.

A:Sudden slow performance/Chrome crashing

This is EXACTLY what happened to me a little over a month ago.  Thanks for posting it.

I hope someone can help us.

So I just bought a y530. Assassins creed origins can only be played at low settings otherwise it crashes. And with low settings, highest FPS I?m getting it 46!  Sometimes it?s performance it?s very low, then stable a minute later then constantly changing, then after half an hour it?s fine.  Forza horizon 4 - it recommended to play at medium settings. No chance, lasts about 2 seconds before freezing and crashing so I changed it to low, and didn?t crash for about 20 minutes set at 30fps. Tried again with it set at 60fps but had to change it back to 30fps as it kept freezing again.  I know this a entry level gaming laptop but surely the performance should be better than this?! I?ve installed all windows updates and installed/updated Nvidia GeForce and made sure the control panel is using the Nvidia graphics card and not set to auto.  I?ve only ever played on console so I?m new to this and haven?t got a clue about PC/laptop gaming so I would really appreciate any advice!!

Hello Forum,

I have the following issues -

1. First received the message on the computer from MS informing that we had an error - went to view details it said that we had a Error 1033. I went and pushed the button to get MS to fix this issue - but continually receive the message that I have the same problem.

2. The time that I rebooted - I noticed in place of the CPU gadgets that i have on my desktop that all MS gadgets had crashed. Again a fix did not work.

3. Internet Explorer is not working and the tabs keep crashing.

I did go onto the MS webpage and ran SFC and posting the pics from the results. I am unsure as to what other information or where to go to try and fix this issue.

I have tried everything prior to posting. I am not sure if any snips from Event Viewer may assist.

Thank you

Okay, so, my story is this...
I have been experiencing random computer crashes on my Laptop. I will list the specifications of this laptop in a moment. The crashes come with NO BSOD or any form of minidump or recording of what caused them...
It will sometimes crash at an insanely random time when almost nothing is running, but most of the time it will crash after I have just clicked play on a video, on the internet. (usually YahooNews or LEOAffairs.com)

Now, before you go crazy and start saying, "well update your Flash Player!!" ..I will have you know that I fully uninstalled the entirety of Adobe Flash, using the standalone Uninstaller, and deleted all remaining files, by following this guide made by Adobe staff... https://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315

I have also run a Driver Verifier, by following this guide here: How to determine which driver causes Windows to crash ? :: SG FAQ
Using a BSOD viewer there nothing was revealed that I could easily tell what the issue was, or what needed to be changed to stop my issue.

Being that this issue is not easily re-creatable I will keep this thread updated as often as I can, after some people have put down some suggestions on how to fix this.

I will also attach the Crash Dump Text File of the BSOD (DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION) that occurred after I had run the Driver Verifier. I will also include the .dmp file (inside the ZIP), incase you would like to look at that...

Update: 01/11/2015 ~ Start Maintenance (Crash / Auto-Restart Bug)
Just thought I'd update you all on something else that I should mention:
When I go into 'Security & Maintenance.' I set the time for automatic Maintenance. But when I click 'Start Maintenance' - It won't even work. It just gives me BSOD, and then restarts my PC. Wow, I have no idea WTF is going on with this lately...

Okay, first of all...I usually can take this. A few slight errors causing a slight problem with the OS. But this is not one of those errors. This is a problem that just keeps on making more problems arise from what should be functional.

Error: Keeps on crashing when Opera / Google Chrome is running. It takes time but some reason it happens . . .

EXAMPLE:
I load up Windows 10, start-up my computer like usual. But here is something that might be important:
I checked Security & Maintenance- Monitor Reports:

Problem:
Windows failed to start because of a problem with the system files.
Description:

Does anyone know why this keeps happening? I've tried re-installing my AMD drivers, and that don't seem to fix it. I mean if I Shut-Down my computer for the night, and then return in the morning (Start-up) computer and Windows 10 loads fine. Hi there,

I have had a few problems with my custom built computer. I believed at first that I had malware and virus issues, however a nice technician on the virus forums said there was no problem.

I am receiving the dreaded Blue Screen of Death fairly frequently, I am not playing any games, just browsing the internet when it happens.

Secondly, my browsers (both Mozilla 3.6.8 and IE 8) are both crashing very frequently - Mozilla comes up with a report message saying it has crashed and asks me whether to send or not to send the report, whereas IE reloads the tabs frequently, but to a point the page cannot be reloaded and has to be closed down.

As well as this, a lot of my executable files are crashing - I am getting error messages from things like java, flash, avg, my network card, windows messenger etc saying that they have crashed.

This problem is happening very frequently, I cannot seem to go half an hour without browsing with no problem.

If anyone could help it would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

Thanks.

A:BSOD, exe files constantly crashing, browsers crashing.

You need to post some hardware details about your custom built computer.
Something is unstable and it could well be the memory modules.

In addition, when you see a BSoD click details, it will generally state which executable caused the problem.

I would be tempted to look for a copy of memtest and run some memory diagnostics.

Hi aja656

Thank you for your patience. I will be helping you deal with the issues raised in your log from this point onwards

Before we start jumping into things, here is a quick basic note which I mention to everyone. The fix which I have provided for you is for this computer only, it should not be used on any other computer. Each fix is tailor made for the specific task in hand. If for some reason you have system restore disabled, then please re-enable it before proceeding, an infected restore is better than none. Please read through the fix first and set enough time aside to complete the task in one session. If there is anything you feel needs clarification then please ask - do not guess! Thanks.

If this is a business machine then please make sure that you have both the authority and full administration rights to the computer system.

Please follow these directions in the order they are set out for you.

On with the fix.....

I notice that the version of HJT that you are running is out of date, please delete the version of HJT that you have and download the latest version (v2.0.2) - Here to your desktop. Install HJT but do not run it just yet.

Next.....

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.Close all applications and windows.
Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.

Hello,

I just re-installed Windows 7 on my computer 3 days ago, essentially starting from scratch again with the removal of all my files (exceptions being the ones I stored to a flash drive), and decided to try Windows 10.

Ever since I built this PC 3 years ago, I have received BSODs and seen just a lack of performance in general.

Here are the specs of my PC:

* = Recently installed

Windows 10
CPU: AMD FX-8350 4GHz Black Edition - Socket AM3+
PSU: Antec PowerSupply High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze
*GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
Mobo: Asus M5A97 R2.0, AMD 970 Socket AM3+
SSD: OCZ Intern SSD 128GB Vertex 4 Series SATA III 2.5"
HDD: Seagate Internal Harddrive Barracuda 3TB
*RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 16 GB KIT (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1600 MHz CL10
*Capture Card: AverMedia Live Gamer HD
Here are some of the more annoying issues that have persisted since the build was made, and some which have occured with the installation of Windows 10:

High CPU usage - I am currently trying to stream with my computer, but doing so usually puts me at 80-90% CPU usage, as well as the risk of BSOD if I attempt to stream for a longer time.

Games closing - I mostly play Dota 2, and there are times where the game simply just closes to desktop ( This usually happens after I have attempted to stream, and then crashed a couple of times.)

Low FPS - Streaming or even having a Video / Stream open on my second monitor while playing a game will result in a great drop in FPS.

A:BSOD and overall lack in performance

Just an educated guess - sounds like a possible memory problem to me.

Try going into the bios and change your memory options (If you have any). Or, if you have 2 sticks and 4 slots, try moving them 1 blank 1 blank, etc... Have the bios do a memory test on boot too if you can.

Then boot up and run a memory intensive app to test

Hello,

Summary: I recently had isator.sys BSOD errors I think it was the TDSS virus.

I basically with a recovery CD fixed boot, fixed MBR and rebuiltBCD at the command prompt screen. So my computer works now, without any BSOD issues. But I am now having some performance issues. Startup and Shutdown time is slower than it previously was, the computer hangs up longer than it did on startup looking for my wireless network connection, all programs open slower and all periodically get the "Not Responding" issues. They still work, but continuously hang up with the NR error. Also video playback is choppy, slow and the audio is muffled and distorted.

I'm thinking it might be my IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, which is were the isator.sys driver is located. I dunno though so I came to the experts

A:Bsod error and slow pc performance.

Unless someone can give you another gig or two for free, I would not buy ram for your system.

Older ram is unfairly marked up in price it costs twice as much as DDR3.

Though I did just see some on ebay pretty cheap...

But RAM is what you need, even if its only another gig of ram, it will run smoother..

Also, how old is your harddrive? What size is it? Is it IDE or SATA?

I got my computer back from the computer shop after a recent total mess up, it now does normal stuff like sound and things but it regularly crashes.

My computer gives me BSoD's when I am on MSN, try to load Cubase and sometimes at other random points.

I know 2 error codes which are 0x00000007F and 0x0000000F4 (I don't know the rest, and I don't think I've got the right ammount of 0's)

At the computer shop they re-installed Windows over the top of what was already on there (or they restored it or something) and didn't format the drive because I had stuff on there. They told me to re-format my drive and re-install Windows, is this the only way to do things or will I have to re-format and install?

Thanks.

Giltrap

(The original error started when I installed an interface so I can connect my guitar and my midi keyboard to my computer. RTM doesn't always work )

The performance went down by A LOT. It's like an old 98 computer now. It takes about 40 seconds to open firefox and 30 seconds to open new tab. Also, I've gotten the BSOD at least 4 times now. And both the BSOD and performance problems happened at the same time. But sometimes the performance returns back to ALMOST normal speed, but not completely.

Oops, ignore the perfmon.zip attachment in last post, it's the wrong file.

I've attached the correct one in this post.

Hi, I just purchased a Gfx card (Sapphire HD 6850) for my PC.
My system's config is: AMD Phenom II X2 550BE, ASRock M3A785GXH/128M Mobo, 4GB (2*2) Kingston DDR3 RAM, 500*2GB (RAID 0) HDD, Samsung LCD (1600x900), silverstone 500w PSU (80+ certified).
The prob is, recently i purchased fifa11, nfs hot pursuit, and bullet storm, but none of the games run smoothly at the highest setting. considering the gfx card and low resolution at which i play, all games, especially Fifa which is a light weight game must run properly, but even it lags. I turned off MSAA and vsync then also the game lags when screen moves quickly (while thorowing pass).
Also while playing once in a while I get BSOD's

A:BSOD's and unacceptable gaming performance.

Hi,

Since you have most of the problems while gaming, it's better to test your VGA card:
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

The dump file indicate WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (0x124)
That's usually caused by hardware error so you can try this troubleshooting strategy:
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Since 3rd drivers and applications may also causing this error, so I suggest you to do this following:
- Upgrade Kaspersky into latest version
- Remove Daemon Lite and delete its drivers with this tools (choose uninstall)
- Uninstall AMD Overdrive driver for a while to see if the BSOD would stop.
- Update your Realtek NIC driver.
