Lenovo USB2.0 UVC Camera

Q: Lenovo USB2.0 UVC Camera

I'm trying to set up my Lenovo USB2.0 UVC Camera to work with Skype. I installed the drivers and tried opening the amcap program to adjust the image. However, it gives the message "This image cannot be viewed properly! Please check your camera plug-in!" This camera is built into my Lenovo LCD monitor. Obviously this is saying that the camera is not connected, but I'm not sure what cords are needed and where to plug them. Help would be appriciated

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

How do I switch off the light on the camera ?

A:Vega USB2.0 camera

If you mean while it's one, then you can't since that's done by design to let you know the camera is on.

However, you could put electrical or duct tape over it.

Hello, I have a new T530 with Windows 8 OS. I am having trouble using the integrated camera. It functions neither in the Windows camera app nor in Skype. In both cases I get a picture with a gray background and a camera with a line through it. In Device manager, the camera does appear, is enabled, and the drivers are up to date. After looking through other threads, I tried checking whether the camera was plugged in and indeed it was. When using Skype and I set the camera to on (Skype did detect the camera), I still got the gray no camera image, but the green light on the camera itself turned on.I also tried using Fn+F6 to check settings. Lenovo settings opens, but the when I click the camera settings Icon, the screen loads a blank page that says "Camera" in the top right and has a back button (left pointing arrow) in the top left hand corner. The back button does not seem to work and I must change the window to something else in order to exit/close settings.I tried manually installing both camera drivers and "power management" ("energy management"?) drivers. Neither of this solved either of these issues. Please help me to resolve this problem. Thank you.

Hi, euterpenc

I would make sure that the BIOS is up to date in the system. The current BIOS for your system is 2.07 and can be found here. Also, I would ensure that the chipset drivers are up to date, and those can be found here.

Hope it helps, and let me know how it goes
Adam

Hi I just bought this laptop but the webcam is so dark. I tried fixing brightness and stuff it still is quite dark for me. Is there any software that can fix this? Thanks

A:Z470 Lenovo camera dark

Hello Maria48 and welcome to Lenovo community,

Kindly try reinstalling the camera software and check if it resolve the issue.

If the persist, please try following methods:
Install YouCam Software first.
http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/in/en/DriversDownLoads/Drivers_Show_4594.html

Method one:
Adjust brightness and contrast via the interface ?Video Enhancement?, camera image effect could be improved clearly.

Method Two
Click ?Configure the YouCam settings? and adjust ?Capture resolution? to a higher value. The higher the resolution is, the better the effect will be.

I hope this will resolve your issue.

Best Regards,
Tanuj

Hi there. I am having trouble finding the camera on my 910. I tried doing a factory reset on the computer, but it couldn't find the driver. I tried going to lenovo's website and manually installing it, but still nothing. The last thing I have resorted to is to install legacy hardware, but I'm not sure which device I should install. I appreciate any advice! Also, an important note is that I cracked the screen on it a while back and had Geek Squad replace it using the accident replacement plan they offer. I am unsure whether the camera was incorporated before then, as I never needed to use it until recently.

Hi Guys, This is something that has been bugging me for almost a year now and I've just been really lazy to solve the issue. The problem is because for some reason, unknown to all except Lenovo, they decided NOT to support Windows 10 for a couple of the laptop models that they had in their product line when W10 was launched. I am having an issue again with the built in camera of the z710 laptop.  I never cared for it before and this is my second attempt to try to get it to work. I have searched google and various forum topics, however nothing seems to work. The camera does show up under 'Cameras' in the device manager, but only if I select to 'Show Hidden Devices'. I have tried to install the windows generic driver as I found via a suggestion but this did not resolve the issue.  I am looking for any help in getting this fixed, anyone? I could use a USB camera, but I already am using all my ports and honestly, I don't want another device plugged in where I have to worry about more choords to move around. When I click on Properties of the greyed out camera it says: Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer. I do think the camera is reconized somehow because randomally the light next to the camera will flash green. This does happen very randomally when I use the laptop (Even when I'm not trying to actavate the camera, it's just a random green flash). I really hope that someone/anyone can help me!  Please!

Hello everyone, I have problem with built-in camera that is not working at all. I have a Lenovo G500 Laptop with operating system Windows 8 Pro (64-bit). My built-in camera is not working, Widows Photo app asks me to connect camera, and Skype reports that it hasn't found any camera device. When I go to Device Manager, there isn't such tab as "Imaging Devices" but there is a tab "Other Devices" where is one "Unknown Device". Device location is listed as "Port_#0004.Hub_#0005", device status reports: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)", and hardware ID says only "USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE". I am almost sure that this is my malfunctioning camera.Automatically find drivers for it doesn't work. I've also tried uninstalling driver for that unknown device and run scan for recent hardware changes resulting only in re-appearing of mentioned unknown device. I've tried to download driver from http://support.lenovo.com/sk/sk/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g500-no... , however when I try to install it, an error message appears: "no appropriate driver to be installed". I've tried DriverScanner app as well. But this found only unknown device, just as Device Manager. I am sorry to bother you, but I am really hopeless now. Am I really forced to buy external camera or is there a solution fir this issue?

hi priyamdubey ,

Welcome to Lenovo COmmunity Forums!!

Do you have any device under device manager that has a yellow symbol? as it may be the wireless without proper driver.

If the Wireless device is really not showing under device manager and it is on on BIOS, then it is a detection issue. the Wifi Device may not be physically detected by the computer,
Try restoring the bios to defaults by hitting F9  then F10 to save and exit.

The same might be happening to the Webcam

Regards
