I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, Do you know if the Thinkpad Workstation Dock is compatible with a Wacom Cintiq? I have to reset the resolution on the Cintiq everytime I restart, power on/off my laptop. I am pretty sure that it is the dock because after connecting the Cintiq tablet direcly to the laptop (fia an HDMI adapter) I have no issues with resolution reset. Something is happening in the dock so I wondered if anyone know if the dock is supposed to work perfectly with the Wacom tablet. I talked to a lady on the phone and she said that the dock is not compatible with the Cintiq but I have a hard time believing that since the ThinkPad is used by graphics people. It is the first time for me and Lenovo. I have always had Dell workstations.  Also, I could not find a technical support email address. Could you provide one if you have used it in the past? Thank you!

Hi, I've been working on replacing the Lenovo splash screen on my E570 using the BIOS update, as described on another thread.  I made a jpg file 270 x 640, 22K and named it logo.jpg in the driver/flash folder.  When I run Winuptp.exe, it reads the new logo, runs through the whole process of installing BIOS 1.88 - but then the lenovo image still comes up. Thanks for any advice!

I posted a similar question earlier and people referred me to the Yoga (much appreciated).  However, I was interested in the 2.6 lb carbon version with touch screen capabilities.  Asus has a Spin 7 model that is very good at 2.65lb, but I miss the red mouse toggle in the middle of the keyboard and Asus's track pad was designed too large....causing unintended tapping.  The Yoga, while nice, is heavier than I was looking for.  The 14 inch screen is about 3.3lb? the 12 inch at 3? I thought that some of the earlier Thinkpad Carbons had touch screen and was hoping they would make a return soon.  Thanks,

Hi,the Geforce GTX950M on my new Thinkpad E570 remains inactive, even when it is set as the preferred graphics processor for the particular application in the NVIDIA control panel. Also, when invoking the context menu by right click on the application's exe file the option 'Run with graphics processor' is greyed out. In fact, it is greyed out for all exe files for all applications.Am I missing something? I suppose and sincerely hope there is a simple solution to this problem.Best regards,Matthias

Hello all
I have an older IBM thinkpad and I was wondering....The video card (chip) is an ATI Mach64 Rage Mobility, and it only has a capability of 800x600 screen res. I was fine with that, until I bought Civilization3, which needs a minimum of 1024x768 resolution. Is there a driver update, or tweak I can perform to allow for this resolution? This game will not run on this laptop, because it does not currently meet minimum specs. Any help you could offer is great, and thanks for reading this.

Hi, The original Intel SSD (SSDSCKKF180H6L) recently failed on our E570 and I have replaced it with a new Samsung 860 Evo 500GB. I have installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro, Windows updates and the latest Lenovo drivers and BIOS. However, it now takes 12 minutes to boot to the Winodws login screen and 8 minutes to shutdown. I installed Samsung Magician to test the SSD and all is OK, except that it took 21 minutes to start the software due to "scanning for drive information". The issue appears to be that the laptop (and Samsung Magician and Windows Device Manager) believes that the original Intel SSD is still installed and I imagine that is what is causing it to take so long to boot. The origial SSD still appears in the BIOS Boot screen (ATA HDD2 INTEL SSDSCKKF180H6L), I have excluded it from the boot priority order, but there does not appear to be a way of removing it from the BIOS. I uninstalled the SSD from Windows Device Manager, but it simply returns after rebooting. Does anyone know how to remove an old SSD, no longer in the laptop, from the BIOS? Many thanks, Andy

Hi, I just setup a Lenovo E570 with Windows 10 and one thing I noticed is every time I restart the computer the wallpaper settings are reset back to Lenovo image default (single image, no slideshow). I'm trying to set it to a slideshow of my own pictures, which works fine until I reboot and then it gets reset again. What Lenovo application is doing this and how I can change this setting or remove said Lenovo application so it stops doing this? I've removed all Lenovo applications (listed in add/remove anyways) except the on screen display so far, and it's still happening. Thanks!

Hi,

Hoping you all can help solve this. Ordered a brand new E570 online (maybe that was my first problem) When I got it, I found I couldn't connect to wifi - either at home or at the office, but ethernet works just fine. It will find all the wifi connections in range and when I select mine and type in my password, it takes about 10-15 seconds before coming back with 'cannot connect to network' error message?!

After having someone from Lenovo helpdesk remote-in twice, it's been back to Lenovo both times, the first time they replaced the wifi card, the second time they ran tests and could connect. It was returned to me with a report that there was no problem detected and everything worked.

I thought it was maybe my wifi, so I disconnected and reconnected both my phone and my work laptop. I have also since installed 2 wifi thermostats and a smart tv, so I know my home router works and i've got the correct password.

The IT guy at the office suggested this, at the command prompt:

ipconfig /flushdns
arp -d
netsh winsock reset

After typing the ipconfig, I tried the other commands and they came back w a 'requires elevation' message ... but i don't have my laptop set up w administrator rights ... (which is what I think its asking?)

This is driving me insane. Any ideas?

thanks!

** edit** I've figured out how to run the above 3 commands from the admin command prompt but still get the same error message when I go to connect.

Hi,i have Lenovo ThinkPad T470 (LENOVO 20HD0002MC) and recently has started a strange problem:While booting at first Lenovo logo shows up (where you can get to BIOS by Enter key) and right after screen goes black. When i power down laptop and boot again (sometime few times) intead of the black screen there is a prompt for Bios password, like it should have and booting continues to OS.Enter key for BIOS doesnt work while it slill get stuck on black screen just right before it loads the BIOS (after trying few times with power -off/on it gets to BIOS and i can boot normally)I have BIOS firmware updated to the latest version, so as well drivers for hardware.Im not aware of any change that could potentionally start this issue, maybe after updating bios to some newer version.Otherwise im using Windows 10 with latest updates, but i dont think this could cause the issue as its way before windows loading. Thanks for the help.

I have a Thinkpad T540p and it booted with a lovely 1080p lenovo boot screen. But after I explored the BIOS and enabled a setting called "Use recommended settings for Windows 8.1" (or something like that) the bootscreen changed a bit (but still Lenovo logo) and the resolution dropped to I guess 480p... Of courseI disabled that BIOS setting but the boot screen didn't reset to the original one. So I'm stuck with an ugly, low-res boot screen... So how do I make my boot screen of Lenovo pretty again with a resolution of 1920x1080? PS: This is the low-res one I'm getting now: And this is the one I used to have in 1080p(These are not my pictures, I found these on the internet.
