Solved: Ubisoft Game Launcher Crashes

Q: Solved: Ubisoft Game Launcher Crashes

I tryed playing AC2, it launches the Ubisoft Game Launcher for the DRM. It gets to logging me into the servers, then the PC hangs. Shortly after the PC restarts. I then purchased Splinter Cell: Conviction and the same thing happened, so it must be the launcher is the problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled the games and the Launcher. The patch for both games and the Game Launcher updated automaticly. I got the same problem. I installed the games on another PC with no problems. I updated my video card and DirectX drivers with no effect. Please Help!

My DxDiag report is the attached .txt file.

According to "http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/" my PC passes the minimum requirements for both games.

I have always played AC2 without any issues untill now and all other games work fine.

Any other questions, please ask.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Just to add, I suspect the Launcher's directory on the C drive may be corrupted. If this is so, how do I fix it or how can I install the Launcher to my D drive? The games are located there but I don't have the option to put the Launcher there.

I have an ongoing issue where I log onto the glyph launcher, log onto my server, play for a while, sometimes hours with no issue but then BOOM, the game just closes on me and I'm booted back to the launcher. I have to push the PLAY button again, log into the server again, but it seems once the game boots me out then the crashing becomes more frequent.

I at first reported it to Trion support (useless) all they do is copy and paste previous responses from previous games sometimes not even removing the other game titles from it, but all in all I have spent over a month with them and I have:

1. Expanded my paging file to initial size of 1X RAM size max size 2X RAM size (to handle the memory of the game)
2. Switched from DirectX11 down to DirectX9 and back again. (in game)
3. Lowered my FPS (frames per second) to 100 (in game)
4. Switched off Multithread rendering and VSync (in game)
5. They have also had me change the priority of the game archeage.exe to high to see if that helps and it doesn't
( I would start the launcher, log onto the game and the server, go into the character screen, then cntrl + alt + delete into task manager and right click the process and set the priority to high then go back into the game)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well one thing is that you can take a screenshot by doing the PrintScreen button for the whole screen or ALT+PrintScreen if you want to get the selected window. Just paste it in MSPaint (or your favorite image program)

As to the issue, has it ever worked? Have you tried Windows compatibility mode?

Background: Hey guys! I play a free to play game called eurogunz, website is euro-gunz.eu . I have always been able to play this game just fine on my Dell Optiplex with Windows XP. No problems at all since the summer of last year. All you have to do to start the game is start the launcher, then hit start game. Well, recently I have been pressing the start game button and nothing comes up. The launcher will just disappear and my computer screen will just stay normal as if no command was given to it.

What I have tried: Uninstalling recently downloaded programs especially free anti-viruses which could be the cause of this. I have also made an exception in firewall for this game. When I went to my "C" drive and tried putting everything related to avast antivirus, it won't allow me to saying something like I don't have a sufficient disk or something. My friends have told me to uninstall eurogunz and redownload it which I have done numerous times and still does not work. To be honest though, when I go to control panel -> remove programs, eurogunz and avast anti virus isn't there. Is this supposed to be happening?

How you can help: post here to help me !

A:My game launcher will not start

ok, im no pro, so this may be a shot in the dark and false hope.

you said that it used to run fine on XP, so what operating system are you using now, vista, windows 7? if so that may be your problem. from what i have seen eurogunz looks as though its a european port of a Japanese game (please do correct me if im wrong), meaning that updating it to windows 7 may be a bit tricky.

also if you are using windows vista or 7 it may be having problems with UAC (user account controls). thats the box that pops up asking for permisions to run a program, but sometimes it just wont pop up, and it wont run the program. if this is the case, type UAC into your start bar search bar, and change it to a lower setting. if that dosent work change it to its lowwest, if that dosent work, put it back to where it was before.

Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).

I'm having terrible trouble with my PC.

Windows XP Professional (no service packs. I tried service pack 2, but it wouldn't let me install anything afterwards, so I did a system restore)
AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 2.0GHz
1.0 GB RAM
256MB Nvidea GeForce FX 5500 with latest drivers
and I'm running Directx 9.0C

It's a homebuilt box, not from any major company.

I've installed and tried plenty of games, most of which crash with an error message asking if I want to reboot, and the worst of all, Morrowind just randomly locks up (and I want to play that game so bad!). Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam let me play for a few minutes before showing me an error message, but Soldier of Fortune 2 just goes ahead and shows it right as soon as you start shooting. The only game I've tried that actually works without crashing or freezing is Grand Theft Auto Vice City.....

I spent an hour or 2 on the phone with Microsoft Technical support, and they told me to do all of the basic troubleshooting, like updating video drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, uninstalling and reinstalling the video drivers, turning off the sound accelleration....and nothing worked, so he said there wasn't anything else that could be done. it's rediculous how this happens with almost everything I try, especially since it's a totally legit copy of windows xp. if it was a bootleg copy, then that might explain it, but it's not.

This has been happening for a few months now, but is happening more and more often. After a while of playing a game (Most recently Dead Rising 2, but has also happened in Starcraft 2 and Minecraft.) my computer will crash. The keyboard will turn off, and my speakers will make a a fairly loud, low pitched buzzing sound. The only way to fix it is a hard reboot. All my drivers are up to date, I just vacuumed my computer to make sure it isn't a dust issue, I ran a virus scan with no results, cleaned my registry, and the computer is in a cool, well ventilated room. This does not seem to happen while I'm surfing the web, just in games. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry if this is the wrong section, didn't think it belonged in games as it is an issue that affects my computer, not an issue in a specific game.

I've been posting this all over the place, been talking to 2K tech support, etc. and so far no one has a solution for me that actually works.

The gist of this is that I can start up a game, no problem, play for as long as I want and save it. If I then click on "Load GAme" after selecting "Single Player", the game crashes.

Oddly, I recently discovered that if I start up STeam in off-line mode, the game does not crash when I click on Load Game.

The last thing that 2K told me was that most likely KERNALBASE.DLL was corrupt, and that I should run "SFC /SCANNOW" from the command prompt to repair it, but it has found no errors (ran it 3 times on the advice of 2k -- still no luck).

Things that I've tried include deleting my INI files, deleting all my save games, totally reinstalling the game from scratch, reinstalling Direct X (it won't install -- it says I have the most recent version), upgrading my video drivers, booting without loading any programs, turning off my virus scan, etc.

The game used to work. I actually haven't been playing it for a while, so I can't tell you what specific things that changed on my system may have broken it.

Hi, and thanks for your time.

I am having a problem with all my computer games crashing after 5-10 minutes. It does not seem to matter what games, or what I am doing in them, they just freeze and/or crash to desktop. There have been a few BSOD, but they are rare.

My computer is a couple of years old, and has always had a crash problem with games. But recently, I had to put in a new power source (a fan died on the original one), and the problem has gotten much worse. Before, the crashes, if they did happen, would be an hour or two in, now its down to 5 minutes, tops. I suspect that there has always been a problem with the hardware, it is just blatantly obvious now.

Computer Specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6400+ 3.22 GHz

I'm posting this in both the Hardware and Games forums.

When running some newer games, such as Half-Life 2: Episode One, F.E.A.R., F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point or The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, the game will play perfectly for approximately 5-10 minutes when suddenly the computer will crash to a plain black screen. The PC power remains on but must be hard reset. Occasionally, when the game crashes, I will briefly see a screen of small random colored boxes (artifacts?) before the screen goes black. This problem never happens when I run old games. While the games are running, there aren't any problems at all. My computer is able to run them with no hiccups at full specs. I've tried lowering the game specs to the minimum settings but still get the same problem. Here are some of my PC's specs:

Pentium IV 3.0 Ghz HT
Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT OC
400W power supply
Windows XP SP2

No viruses or malware. There are no sounds/beeps when the PC crashes. I've updated to the newest Nvidia drivers and have also tried rolling back to various older drivers, but to no avail. There are no error messages when I restart my PC. The inside of my case is clean and free of dust. The PC and video card fans are working fine and running silently.

Any ideas what might be causing my computer to crash? Is it hardware or software? Thanks in advance!

I've been haveing some trouble with either game crashes or full bluescreen (error 101).
I WAS useing twin GeForce 9600GTs in SLI, I recently upgraded to a HD 7870.
The problem did not change, suggesting that video drivers are not the source... Although altering the drivers with the 9600GTs did seem to effect if the game crashed or full bluescreen crash.
So basicly, the PC works fine untill I play a game (high end and/or minecraft... simple games do not trigger it) at that point, you are on borrowed time. Around 15-120 min. into gameplay, either the game will crash (fatal error bug or no bug report) OR the PC will freeze briefly followed by a blue screen BCCode 101. (Windows 7 64)

I did a simple RAM check, but I did not leave it running for long. I have 3 sticks of 2GB in there, and haveing removed one at a time did not effect the problem. (IE: I took out each stick, leaveing 2 in for a quick and easy method to find a possable faulty RAM chip).

Thus far, it would seem that the CPU in at haveing timeing issues with a core.
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6400+ 3.2 GHz

Could it be overheating? Everything seems to work fine untill I start a game, then it crashes out roughly 30 min into playing. I'm consitering removeing the heat sink, reapplying the thermal paste, and checking if that has any effect. This much I am qualified to do; but is there a way to monitor processor heat levels durring gameplay (I'm sure standard bios heat checks would not show problems). ... Read more

About 3-4 months ago, my uncle placed a GeForce 9500GT video card. It worked nice for games like Dekaron,Rappelz,Oblivion but just about a week ago it crashed on COD2. I thought it was normal but it happened on Left 4 dead too. I started to get worried and thought it was normal but then it kept on crashing on Portal(1st stage, at around 20-30 seconds on the timer) and almost any game i borrow from my friends. It crashed on Warcraft 3, Overlord, Drift City(only in Undercity Mission). Im kinda worried now maybe you guys can help me.

It crashes and sometimes the sound loops but sometimes it doesnt. Im not sure if it's only the monitor because some of my games cant be shut by using ALT F4 and i cant check if it shuts down well. When i unplug, plug and turn it on, there are no warnings or things that say it recovered from an error. It just starts normally. Some people say i have to upgrade my Video card driver but im worried because when i installed a driver on my Laptop , i couldnt turn it on. SO WHAT DO I DO?

I'll keep this short and sweet because I know how busy you guys are.
I built a gaming computer from scratch, there were a lot of problems even getting it working initially this time, as compared to the last one I built that I had zero problems with ever.
I am getting a lot of BSOD's, games freeze and crash, movies freeze and crash, and streaming does too. In addition, I am getting an error occasionally with the GPU that tells me it has timed out and reset the GPU. I used the windows recommended fix for this and set the response timeout time to 8 seconds, since I have done so I have only seen this problem once. I was wondering if I had too little power for my system, but I have seen threads with similar problems that have plenty of power. I have a copy of Far Cry that I have not installed on my computer. Because the four discs are in paper disc envelopes (I got it for free a while ago when I bought my videocard), one of the discs got a bad scratch on it. Now the game will not install. I still have the cd key, so if there is a way to download it without the cd, then that would be really helpful. Thanks.

A:Is there a way to download Ubisoft games with just the Cd Key?

If any of you have a radeon card (might apply to nvidia cards too) and you have been experiencing random crashes to desktop / reboots / VPU Recover windows ...Go into you r bios and change the vid card core voltage to 1.7v, if 1.7 doesnt fucntion, use 1.8. That should fix 95% of all of you crashing problems.

I had tried everything to fix these crashes, formatting HD, reinstalling windows...I even bought a new power supply. None of it worked but since i switched to 1.7v I have had no problems in any games and no crashes at all. It was set to the default 1.64v unbeknownst to be.

Anyways if youve tried everything like me...give it a try I think that it will fix it.

A:A FIX for random game crashes and Vid Card crashes!

Ummmmmmmmm... I'm sceptical... I think voltages generally aren't meant to be messed with... if you do, just know that you may run the risk of frying your card...
...right??? not all cards run on the same voltage, and if it's supposed to run on something lower, it could get fried, right?? and then if it's supposed to run higher than that, MAYBE some bugs would get fixed, but wouldn't the card also run slower??

Which radeon card do you have anyway?

EDIT actually, it looks like the standard voltage for AGP cards is 1.5v... upping the voltage will (I believe) up performance a little, as well as heat generated. Too high a voltage, however, will result in BSODs and the like.

Let's try looking at these 2 sets of reports:1)  Please run this report collecting tool (even though you may not be reporting BSOD's) so we can provide a complete analysis:  http://omgdebugging.com/bsod-inspector/When done a Notepad document will open with the name of the file and it's location.By default it'll be a .zip file located on your DesktopSimply upload the .zip file with your next post and we'll move on from there. If it doesn't work for you, then please try this:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/2)  Please do the following:- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")- right click on the "Administrative Events" heading- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."- save the file as Admin.evtx- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).FYI - If we're looking for Event ID 41 errors (unexplained shutdowns), there's more info on that here:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility:  http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

1) dont type in all caps....its considered yelling and its somewhat hard to read. also, paragraphs and punctuation are our friends

2) boot into safe mode (tap f8 before windows starts and choose safe mode

3) right click on "my computer" select properties, hardware, device manager.

4) click the plus sign next to "display device", highlight all entries and delete them.

5) reboot into normal mode.

6) reinstall drivers.
if that doesnt work, then we need a little more information.

1) how much system RAM do you have?

2) give me an example of one game that is crashing

3) what is the EXACT (word for word) error message.

Ok, so I play WoW, HL2 and have been trying to play the new TF2 but my game freezes up while I am playing at random times and i have to manually restart my computer to be able to do anything. I have a feeling that it has something to do with directx because a friend of mine suggested that I change my 3d engine to opengl instead of directx which I have done on WoW and now it doesn't crash. I should also note that these games didn't use to crash either. However running the game on opengl makes it much laggier and if i can pinpoint the problem it would be a huge relief because right now I'm thinking about buying a new computer.

Processor Amd Athlon 64 Processor 3200+

directx version 9.0c
Geforce 6600 GT

All drivers have been updated as well

Could be an overheating problem, the PC is protecting itself from damage by shutting down rather than damaging it self. Check the PSU, all the Fans esp. the CPU on the CPU itself. Also make sure all the PCI cards are slotted in securely.

If possible install a tool the monitor PC temperatures to see where the issue is.

My games crash at random times, and I've had this happen in more than one game so it's not a problem with a specific program. My monitor gets a blank screen and reads "No signal" and I'm forced to restart my computer for it to work again. I'm using Windows XP SP3.

It only has this crash when I play games.

Attached is my minidump folder, and the two files that were created by the guide in the sticky.

The problem I am having is that while playing only certain games, such as civ 5 or a sims game, (but in others like League of Legends or tf2 it doesn't), my computer will just crash outright, I don't even see the bluescreen on crash. My computer stays powered on but without any display output to the monitor. In addition when I restart I do get an error message saying that the error was a bluescreen.

I've attempted to check the event viewer for problems but their is nothing in it that helps me diagnose the problem. I went as far as reinstalling the os, disabling my raid 0 array, and still the problem persists after two fresh installations. I need some help determining the issue that's occurring.

Hey, I just recently purchased Call of Duty: Ghosts and my computer not only reached the minimum requirements it surpassed them by quite a bit, enough to which I should be able to run the game on maximum graphics. Every time I open up singleplayer and multiplayer when I enter a game, I get these dreaded distorted pixels, freezing and then my game crashes no more than 5 seconds later. The error is that its not responding and nothing else. I don't know if this is the proper topic to put this in but I just want to fix this problem I'm not afraid to go buy a new part.

Hi and welcome to TSG.

What is the exact make, model and wattage of your power supply (PSU)?
Have you ever upgraded / changed any hardware in it?

It sounds like a possible power, overheating or perhaps a driver problem. Is your Windows installation and all your drivers fully patched and up to date?

Download and install HWMonitor (its free), run the program with your PC sat idle at the desktop and screenshot the full HWMonitor window.

Do you have any currently installed games that work without a problem?

Do you know exactly what graphics card you have rather than just 5900 series? Something like HD5970?

I just finished building my custom gaming pc, my connections are all right and my PCs temp is low but whenever I try to play Battlefield 1942 or Homeworld 2 it works perfectly for about a minute then either locks up, restarts my system or goes to a blue screen that occasionly has info on it that is only up for about a second so I don't have time to read it. All my drivers are up to date so what could be the problem? Any help would be greatly apriciated. Thanks. PS all my system specs are on my profile.

Nice System ...You're running Windows XP right?

Also has the system had a different video card in it before this one?

Check for IRQ conflicts(Right Click on My computer, click Properties, Hardware Tab, Device Manager)

Couple other things, do you have the latest AGP driver for that motherboard?

And perhaps try setting your AGP to 4x instead of 8x...heard of some issues with certain mobos and the 9800XT at 8x..

To be sure, DL and install both Adaware and Spybot S&D.
Before you run those scans, use the update-function in both programs first.

Have you checked the temperature of your mobo? Are all the fans in your PC working, especially those on CPU and graphics card?

Is your PSU strong enough for whatever you attach onto it?

I wasn't sure where to put this!

The two games I have recently been playing are CS:S and Warcraft III, after a while of playing the sound on the game freezes on one bit of noise and the screen freezes with grey squares everywhere.

I thought it was a cooling problem to begin with as my CPU was getting as hot as 80 degrees celsius, but I fitted a new fan and now average about 30 degrees celsius, even when playing games.

When I put in the fan I refitted the whole case, and for a few days after that I had no crashing problems, but now they have come back.

I don't know what is useful so I will just list everything.

Graphics card: ATI Radeon 4870
PSU: Enermax Liberty 620W
CPU: Core 2 Quad 2.66MHz
MB: Gigabyte X48T-DQ6
RAM: 4GB DDR3 Corsair

My graphics card averages about 66 degrees celsius.

I don't know if I connected the power to the card wrong, it was supplied with a connector which plugged into the card and then is powered by molex. But when I turned the computer on a message displayed saying I needed to plug another cable in, so I plugged one of my PSU's modular PCI-E cables directly into the other empty slot on the graphics card, then it worked fine.

I just ran memtest86+ and it found no errors.

Any help will be useful!

I'm sure this has been talked about quite a bit but I can't seem to find any fix for my issue that works for me.

Every game I have crashes. It doesn't happen all the time and it is completely random. It doesn't crash when I'm not playing a game. When it crashes my game the last sound I heard just continuously loops and it won't let me alt+tab or ctrl+alt+del and I have to do a hard reset. This didn't happen with Vista 32 bit with the same hardware.

I love 64 bit Vista and I would really hate to have to go back to 32 bit if at all possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
