I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I have 2 of these laptops and one has a battery problem. In Win10 it shows that it can only charge to 93%. I can leave it for few hours and it will still only say 93%. If I take power brick from the other (that can charge to 100%) charging stops at 94%. The light indicator is white when on 93% but the % in windows indicator is bothering (not to me, but to the user). I think that there is a problem in Win10 indicator (since light indicator lights white), but even formating (and converting from Legacy to EFI) didn't solved the problem. Is there a problem with battery? EDIT: At what % does LED turns from orange to white? I checked indicator for white LED when laptop was turned off and charging. So I can't confirm if it charged to 100% and if it charges to 100% when turned on.

My ideapad laptop has had decreased battery life since the end of last summer.  I chalked it up to playing too many games for an extended period of time - leaving battery and AC adapter in for days (in hindsight, bad idea, but I didn't want to crack it open quite yet). After running some tests here and there, I figured probably the best thing to do was replace the battery.  I had previously had to replace the AC adapter for a very minor issue, but I bought the replacement from Lenovo.  I also bought a new replacement battery from Lenovo. Today is the first day I've placed the battery in the laptop (it's been boxed for a few months while I've been at college).  While there is a drastic increase in performance (the old battery would last maybe 45 minutes at BEST on power saver mode), I am still only getting maybe 1.5 on my new battery.  I've tried updating the battery driver.  I tried updating the BIOS, but I'm getting an error which says something along the lines of the rom is the same, leading me to believe my BIOS is already updated. I've tried calibrating the battery using this guide by howtogeek.  (edit)  I don't think it's very effective, as I still see sometimes the time suddenly drop or increases, no steady prediction of time, and the percentage seems to drop very quickly as soon as it is unplugged.  I am not sure when or if it levels off. Is this an issue with calibration or capacity?  I ha... If you have a multimeter, how much power is the AC adapter drawing while it is actually charging? Just to check if it is still powerful enough or dying.

Hello,

I'm hoping this is the right section for my problems,
Moderator comment: Moved it for you.

I decided to invest in a new laptop as my other one had fallen on the ground, and lately for the past two month's all I've been having with it was troubles. Ther first problem I had was with the external microphone I used (Blue Yeti) It wouldn't detect or something and eventually made my speakers and microphone stop working all together. With no clue on how to fix it I ended up factory resetting my product. Everything's been fine with this problem, but if you have a fix to it if it arrises again then that'd be helpful.

Just yesterday I had a problem with my laptop where I was using it and the screen suddenly went black, I restarted it and the LENOVO loading screen came up only to have it stuck on the screen with a loading symbol and my curser. I contacted a live agent who told me to factory reset my laptop which brings me onto what happens when I do that below;

I have also had a problem where It would update from windows 8.1 to windows 10 & "Windows Explorer" would continue to crash and refresh every second thus making the laptop un-useable in this state unless I open a program through "Task Manager". Due to this problem I had to factory reset my laptop about five times as I cannot resolve it and it continues to arrise if I set a background to my laptop - I have tried everything, from updating drivers to much more and have yet to find a fix t... Hi I recently bought an Ideapad Y700-14isk. The model is 80NU000WUS. I am having issues with the battery. Since the first day the battery life has been very poor. While using windows 10 power saving settings, and also graphics options set to power save, I am only able to get 1.5-2 hours when running minimal programs and no games. I just use chrome to study but the battery life is incredibly poor. Has anyone else been having issues with the 14" version? I was wondering if the battery is upgradeable to a higher capacity, and where I could possibly buy one from. I understand its a gaming laptop but 2 hours on a full charge while studying power point slides in the chrome browser is just too poor for me. Please let me know if any of you have this issue, and if there is a way to buy a higher capacity battery. Any input helps. Thanks in advance.  I spoke to tech support twice and both times they seemed very clueless. Not helpful at all.

Hello, I've been trying to gain access into my laptop after installing SteamOS for awhile now, but now I'm in this sort of secure boot loop. I'll go step by step in what happened. May laptop was using Windows 10 prior to this problem 1. I installed the SteamOS files and then unpacked them into a USB flash drive 2. I went into the BIOS by Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Restart Now and then entered firmware. There I disabled secure boot. 3. I then booted the USB and installed SteamOS. After that, I restarted the laptop and went back into the bios and put secure boot back to enabled. 4. Now I'm unable to boot my hard drive or USB. Every time I try to boot up, it says something along the lines of "Unable to boot because of secure boot policy". How do I get out of this limbo?

I personally, do like this laptop and it is value gaming laptop, so I should not expect much from it. But it runs other games perfectly... I tried changing the Nvidia 3d setting to high performance but I still get low FPS (30~40), even with the lowest setting.  Is this laptop not capable of playing this game or what is the problem? If you have any solution, please share with me.

Hey all!I bought a Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK Laptop  (touch version) exactly a month ago through a seller, since I live in Pakistan & as far I know Lenovo doesn't officially function here. Hi, I am going to buy a used Lenovo IdeaPad Y700 15.6". Will it be possible to upgrade this model with a SSD, and still have the 1 TB HDD? I am thinking of a M.2 Solid State Drive.  I am going to pick up the Lenovo later today. When I flipped the laptop I was surprised by the huge amounts of pet hair piling up on the fan. It never crossed my mind that this would happen. Should I haved checked and cleaned from the inside? Thanks in advance,Mohamed

The second thing is what is the max RAM and storage the laptop can have? Lastly, will upgrading the RAM and SSD void my warranty? The "Hardware Maintenance Manual" (HMM) contains the specifications of your laptop (plus other information).  You can download it from the Lenovo web site.  Scroll to the bottom of this page and click "Manuals" in the "Support" column. I have an Ideapad 700-15ISK (not a Y700-15ISK), but I think that the answers to your questions are: (1) Two RAM sockets.  My 700 also has two RAM sockets, and the maximum RAM supported is 32 GB, but the Y700 might have a maximum of only 16 GB.  Look in the HMM to find out. (2) One M.2 SSD socket.  Note: not all brands and models of SSD are supported; you have to purchase an SSD that is on the list of supported SSDs (if you buy something else, there is no guarantee that it will work in the Y700).  Look in the HMM to see what SSD models are supported. (3) You can use an M.2 SSD with the HDD.  Alternatively, you could remove the HDD and replace it with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. (4) I think (not sure) that the RAM, SSD, and HDD are regarded as "user replaceable parts", so you can change them without voiding your warranty.  But it needs someone from Lenovo to confirm... Hello everybody! I am interested in buying the new Gaming Laptop Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ACZ in the TOP version with FX-8800P and 4GB R9-M385X. As I have seen, first offers come only having the 1TB WD slim hdd. So time to find out which will be the best M.2 SSD to add nearby. For this need to clarify first if the M.2 port is connected to the SATA III of the FX-8800P's internal southbridge only or if it has connection to PCIe lanes. The HMM https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_y700-15acz_hmm_201508.pdf tells on page 26 there is PCI Express Gen3 and SATA Gen3. For the hdd is written SATA III as note and for the ssd it is NGFF which means the same like you write M.2, so it is unclear. Btw - there are NO DDR4 ports on that model yet. On page 64 you find some oem M.2 ssd models that Lenovo offers to add. Those are SATA3 models like LiteOn CV-1 and Samsung PM871 with keys for "B+M". But this also doesn't mean anything more than might be badder choices. Have a look at the mainboard on page 48. You can see that the M.2 connector has only key M (right side) which means PCIe 3.0 (cpu) + SATA whereas key B (left side) would mean PCIe 2.0 (southbridge) + SATA. That M key port would allow to put in ssd cards like the Samsung SM951MZ-HPV (AHCI) model which might be the fastest using AHCI+PCIe or even the newest model Samsung SSD 950 pro which uses PCIe 3.0+NVMe only. But if there exists only a SATA III connection, the key should be "B only" instea... Read more

Anyone having similar problem and fixed it?
Read somewhere that it may have something to do with the Realtek HD audio software/driver??

Using external mouse for the most, but would be nice to have the option to use a functional touchpad from time to time.

how to install windows 7 on this.  Here's what i've done: I've used both the Windows 7 DVD and i created a bootable USB wiith it (UEFI Boot).  They work. I disabled the  security in the bios, so i could work with UEFI, but when i boot the machine with either, the windows 7 loading screen happens, then it freezes on the Starting Windows animated logo.  I can get no further. When i set the bios to boot in legacy mode it gets past that part, but then asks me for a driver.   I've downloaded all of the windows 7 64 bit drivers on the Y700-15ISK driver page, but none of them seem to be the driver that windows is looking for. Right now i'm a little at the end of my rope on this.  Any help would be appreciated.

You would need to Order the reinstall DVD for the default OS from Lenovo. If you're planning on Win 10 then ask for that set of media. Only this way will it read the MS code in the bios for activation. Any other ISO download would require you still buy an upgrade OS for the key.  If you search around in the Windows support area and/or post their someone may point you where to call. You could try the support Chat to a rep but you'll have to buy the upgrade media which is not expective at all and the simplist way to get all the drivers etc for a working image.

Look in the device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller, it should say Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller. For your second part of your question, you need at least 2 disk with unallocated areas to make a RAID array. But, saying that I would never setup a software RAID (ie windows) array and the BIOS doesnt support a hardware RAID

Hello!I write here with a problem that I have since the day before yesterday. When my Laptop is on and the charger is plugged in, the battery won't charge, giving the notification "plugged in, not charging". Laptop works like the charger wasn't plugged - energy drains from battery.I suppose that is a software problem, because when laptop is turned off or hibernated it charges normally.Formating didn't help at all.Microsoft support told me to recalibrate battery - didn't work.Lenovo support told me to try another charger in service - I will try if nothing else works.Maybe someone had the problem like that and solved it without going to service, which I want to keep as a last resort solution. Thanks in advance!
