I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

greetings from downunder  just wondering if any experts here could provide me with some answers or solutions please i have a thinkcentre m58p running win7pro 64bit with 6gb ram. i have accidently acquired myself 2x SAS SSD drive not knowing that these SAS drives are NOT the same as the normal SSD drive. i found out that i need to have a RAID card to run these drives. would anyone here know how to setup my PC so i can use one of these SAS drives as my boot drive ? also, would this card, Dell PowerEdge SAS 6/iR RAID Controller Adapter Card part#0JW063 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1163240918), work interms of controlling the SAS drive as my boot drive ? more importantly, is this card (Dell PowerEdge SAS 6/iR RAID Controller Adapter Card part#0JW063) compatible with my thinkcentre pc ? if this possible, would anyone here patient enough to explain it to me ste-by-step on how to set it up in my pc so i can make the SAS work as my boot drive ? appreciate any help have a great day and weekend everyone

A:Lenovo Thinkcentre M58 & M58p: yes, is compatible with GT 1030

I'm a huge fan of the GT 1030, but haven't seen any posts here on it and the M58/p.   You may be the first to try it, however the GT 1030 does work with the next gen model, M90/p (and newer), and I haven't seen a case where a GT 730 worked (on systems with PCIe ver. 2.0 -- GT 730 is known to work on M58) and the GT 1030 did not (meaning it has good backward compatibility, unlike AMD graphics cards.)  That doesn't guarantee that it will work, but there's a very high probability.  I hope that helps.

Edit:  Earlier versions of the M58 and all M57 have PCIe ver 1.1.  I would not recommending using a PCIe 3.0 card (GT 1030) in a 1.1 slot (PCIe 2.0 cards like GT 730 do work in 1.1 slots.).  Check your Intel Chipset specs to see which version is supported.

Edit 2:  I'm now thinking that all M58 had version 2.0 PCIe. M58 did have 2 generations of Intel processors, but I believe the Chipset stayed the same.

I have searched the whole durn world over about upgrading ram memory on these M58P 6137 sff desktop computers and it's like two sides to every story!! Lenovo says:: 8gb maximum. Crucial and others say 16gb maximum. I've updated the bois to the 5ckt77a and all that and even chunked in a cpu upgrade from e8400-3.0 to a 8600-3.33 and no problems there. But before going and spending money on a lost cause; If indeed these computers can even handle 1- 4gb stick of ram let alone 4-4gb of ram. Anyone out there done it yet? I'm using 8gb now (4-2gb)

I have a ThinkCentre m58P and have tried 2 cards in the machine to no avail. One just wasnt recognised the other gave bios bleeps. I want to turn this PC into a media streamer from as NAS server and need a HDMI output compatible Graphics card for this machine? Can anyone recommend whats on the whitelist or fully functions wih the M58p?

A:ThinkCentre M58p Graphics Card Whitelist

Can't recommend a card, but just wanted to make sure you knew that you don't have to have a graphics card with an HDMI port on it. The signaling for HDMI and DVI are identical, just different connectors. I have a cable that has a male DVI connector on one end and a male HDMI connector on the other. I connect from the DVI port of an ADD-2R card directly to my TV. There are also DVI/HDMI converters that accomplish this same task using the converter and a standard HDMI cable. Check the parts listing for your machine on the support site to see which graphics cards are supported for your model.

Hello, I had an old [but reliable] ThinkCentre M58p lying around and I recently thought of upgrading it [for a media center with a some gaming capabilties] from, some more, aging [but working] parts I have. So:1. I've replaced the Intel dual E8400 3Ghz with a quad Q9650 3Ghz [I have a 95W HSF] - Works perfectly2. Replaced the stock PSU with a 620Watts, SeaSonic - Works flawlessly3. Installed windows 10 and all the devices4. Finally, installed a EVGA GTX 770 2Gb into the PCI-E slot - This is the weird issue part Now, for the PCI-E card to get recognized during the boot, I had to switch the main output form IGD [Integrated Graphics Device] to PEG [PCI Express Graphics], and it works! The system boots up from the PCI-E slot, and with the drivers installed, everything works and looks great. Easy, or so it seems... As soon as I restart the PC there's no signal, from the PCI-E slot anymore, and in order to boot again from the PCI-E card, I have to:- pull the card out- boot the machine from the onboard VGA [no need to change the BIOS settings though]- shut down- plug the PCI-E card back in- turn it on Then it works again. Games run great, the PC is cool and quiet. Until I power it off... Each time, I have to repeat the process in order to get a signal from the PCI-E slot... Has anyone happened to come across this kind of issue and knows the cause for this? BTW, I've tried a different card [GTX 570] and the results were the same. Also, sta... Read more

We have several relatively new, unused Lenovo ThinkCentre MT-M 7373-AMU workstations that were recently donated to our senior center's home computer training center. The workstations have Windows Vista SP1 installed and are working fine under Vista. However, we are using the workstations to teach senior citizens how to operate home computers and need to install XP along with Vista in dualboot mode. Basically, these workstations will not accept Windows XP clean installs even on a dedicated hard drive. Attempts to perform a clean install of XP results in screen announcements that there are "compatibility issues" which probably have to do with the hardware configuration and/or the BIOS. Thanks.

Like many others recently, I picked up a Lenovo ThinkCentre M58P (7484 A14) desktop computer via eBay.  It runs Windows 10.  From eBay, I also bought and installed a new PSU (www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-750W-750-Watt-BLUE-LED-Quiet-Large-Gaming-Fan-SATANEW 750W 750 Watt BLUE LED Quiet Large Gaming Fan SATA ATX PowNEW 750W 750 Watt BLUE LED Quiet Large Gaming Fan SATA ATX Power Supply PSU PCIeer Supply PSU PCIe-ATX-Power-Supply-PSU-PCIe-/400646802599?hash=item5d48690ca7:g:i5sAAOSwgmJX1wGf). Since then, the computer shuts down suddenly, and increasingly frequently.  As of today, it will not run at all. It starts to run, gets as far as booting the o/s, and then shuts down as though the power were cut off.  I have never heard of and I never considered a compatibility problem with the power supply, which is listed as being ATX.  Inside, I have this PSU powering the system board, one SATA CD/ROM drive, the SATA HDD, and an Nvidia Quadro 4000. Can an ATX power supply be incompatible, as mine apparently is? How so?

A:New PSU in Lenovo M58P desktop now system shuts do...

Hmmm...removing the Nvidia Quadro 4000 seems to have solved the problem.  Is it an issue with my card, or is the Nvidia Quadro 4000 incompatible with this motherboard?  I wouldn't have thought it would be incompatible.

This is a little confusing to explain, essentially when using "Restart" the computer will hang on the second Lenovo screen during boot up. It can shut down and turn on just fine, but it seems like if it tries to boot up too quickly from being turned off it hangs. If I use "Shut down" and let it rest for 20-30 seconds it'll boot up normally. It can also "progress" when encountering this problem, if it hangs and I turn it off but don't wait long enough it can go past the second Lenovo screen and hang on a black screen with a flashing "_" in the upper left hand corner, and if I repeat that it'll move onto a black screen with the blue Windows logo but no loading circle and hang there. I hope that makes enough sense to understand. Now, it's not that big of an issue, like I said, everything else works fine. But when my computer will try to auto-restart after an update or if I'm reinstalling Windows and it needs to reboot itself then it ends up frozen and sometimes that ends up messing up the update or reinstallion. I'm not exactly the most educated with computers, but I noticed an option for Hard-Disk Pre-Delay in my BIOS and was wondering if enabling that could fix the problem, if not then any help fixing it would be appreciated. And following the pinned post:Model Number: 9965A9U System Type: x64OS: Windows 10 ProBIOS: LENOVO 5CKT63AUS (Can provide other specs if needed)

I would try resetting the BIOS using the jumper, or by taking out the CMOS battery, wait a minute or two, and then replace it and try booting up. See page 73 of the Hardware Maintenance Manaul linked below for location of the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper (# 20) https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/m83m93p_hmm.pdf Clearing the CMOS (BIOS)1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer. 2. Remove the computer cover. 3. Locate the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper on the system board. 4. Move the jumper from the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2) to the maintenance position (pin 2 and pin 3). 5. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. 6. Turn on the computer and leave it on for approximately 10 seconds. Then, turn off the computer by holding the power switch for approximately five seconds. 7. Repeat step 1 through step 2. 8. Move the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper back to the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2). 9. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. Good Luck,

Tower or Small form factor... actually posting your Machine Type Model (MTM) would help. If you have the tower, just about any ATX PSU like this one would work since I believe your motherboard as the standard 24 pin connector, but with that card you might want to wait to see if it even needs a 300w PSU, because it may work just fine with you current PSU unless you have a bunch of HDDs installed etc.. If you want a Lenovo PSU that shipped with the M81, you can get a 280 watt like this one  https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Lenovo-41A9684-Desktop-PS-5281-7VR/dp/B00R3NPNN6, which should be more than capable of powering your GPU. Best of luck,

Here is your solution :  ERROR 1962 Lenovo ? Hit Enter. At the top of the screen select the Startup tab. After this, go ahead and select CSM and hit Now select the Enabled option.Go down a little and locate Boot Priority, after which hit Enter. Now change the current option of Legacy First to UEFI First. Finally, press the F10 key and choose YES. With this you will have completed the steps to resolving ERROR 1962: No Operating System Found and should no longer be present, when you switch your computer on.Once you?ve finished with the last step, your computer will reboot and load as usual, hopefully without displaying the above error message. Please let us know if this is useful for you and if it helped solve the problem! Adrian GatesSr. System Admin - Apps4Rent
