Next Flash Version Will Support Private Browsing.

The next version of Flash, 10.1, will support private browsing and will integrate with browsers to turn it on when the browser itself is in private browsing mode.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

As Adobe will end support for flash at the end of 2020. Which is  last version of  Internet Explorer will be able to support adobe flash and from which version flash is not supported at all.

I understand that private browsing is not a means for total anonymity online, that the websites you visit, your ISP or anyone between you and the site (from someone running a wi-fi point you are connecting through to someone running one of the major links within the structure of the internet) can see where you have been, but what about those with physical access to your computer.
Imagine the following scenario: a hacker has physical access, the best forensic tools and as much time as he wants to pick deep into the operating system of a computer, he has the best technology for recovering deleted data but cannot in any way get information from your ISP or other people/organisations which were between you and the sites you visited. Can this hacker find out where you have been?
Lets assume he didn't put a keylogger or any other form of malware onto the computer while you were using it, the first time he ever knew of your existence was the day he got hold of your machine and began his attempts to find what you had been doing in the days, weeks months and years before he gained physical access to the machine.
Let's assume he can bypass the windows password and immediately get full admin rights on the computer, and that he is not restricted in any way by any security feature on the machine. He has full control and abilities, but the data he wants to find was stuff done when the browser (be it FF, chrome or even IE) was in private mode.

I know there is such a thing as private browsing where everything is erased off your computer including passwords and such when you are done. But I was wondering if you have a browser where everything is erased ....If you go on a website that has a "counter", will it make the counter go up or be like you aren't even there?

If I have a "counter" on my LiveJournal page, is there any way people can look at it without the counter going up?

A:Private Browsing?

Hi missyme2009,

The state of the counter at the remote website should increase, i.e. the state of your previous visits is independent from the remote counter which increases with every hit (visit) to the remote website recorded by its server.

I doubt there is any way that your counter can be looked at without the counter going up unless there is a specific infection on your computer (malware) that prevents it from doing so. The chances of a counter being the only target of malware (maybe as a side effect of a more serious nature like identity theft or financial account login information) is probably quite small - I wouldn't worry about it. Hopefully, your website has been secured.

On the other hand, regarding the implementation of your counter, if it is implemented in terms of JavaScript, there is a Firefox Add-on, NoScript, by which all JavaScript can be turned off, so that possibly the counter would not be incremented. If the counter is more tightly-coupled to the server hits (which may be independent from the counter) then your counter could probably be made independent of JavaScript in that case.

With the many new Internet Browsers available that offer private browsing and my son slowly becoming the age where he will want to use the computer. I am beginning to wonder as a parent who is very careful with what websites we allow our son to visit. Should my son turn on private browsing, is private browsing truly private? Is there a way if we have suspicions down the road to see what websites our son has been on, even if private browsing is turned on?

A:Private Browsing

Private browsing in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome DOES NOT protect you from Internet. Instead, it protects your child from you finding out on which sites he has visited. It basically prevents any traces of browsing being left on your computer. History will not be saved, cookies will be deleted upon closing the session and so on. If you want to keep check on what he is doing, do not allow Private browsing.

While there are some products which allow you to filter what he sees, I suggest you sit your son down and educate him in responsible use of internet. Those filters are wrong way to go about it, you don't forbid your son to go outside of house, instead you educate him on how to interact with stranger or in potentially dangerous situations (depending on your son's age, I am assuming he is 8-13 or something along those lines).

I need help in permenantly removing the "private browsing" option in the new Mozilla FireFox internet. I use Windows Vista for home computer and obviously Mozilla FireFox for internet usage. I am not good with too many computer terms, the more basic the better. I've seen other places discuss how to remove it completely, have it not be an option, from Internet Explorer but not Mozilla. I have children in the home that I don't want to have access to it. Just easier for our situation to not have it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.

The best advice I can give is to download Menu Editor and hide the Private Browsing option. Note that this does not help if the user knows the shortcut.

I understand that In Private browsing tries to prevent retention of pages visited by not saving cookies, caches, etcetera of the pages visited.

Here is the problem I cannot understand. When I click on new tab IE 10 brings up a blank page with 10 cubes of recently visited sites. All of the sites I have visited through In Private browsing will fill the 10 squares of recently visited sites when I bring up a new tab in regular IE 10. This is no privacy at all. In fact, clicking on each cube and telling it to remove the listing just keeps them all coming up, one by one, when according to In Private browsing there should be no record.

I had to right click and remove about 30 of these links today to have some privacy from the people I share the computer with.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I might prevent this in the future?

A:Problem With In Private Browsing

In Private doesn't release sites visited until you close IE.

Hello my dear forum friends,
I've recently discovered that my children have been evading my parental control blocks by utilizing the browsers private browsing feature!
I'm using my wireless gateway device to block certain sites during certain times, days, or completely. I decide which sites to block by viewing what sites my kids are going to via Windows Live Family Safety. However, recently, I noticed that a couple of the computers have been showing no logs whatsoever and this is impossible because FS is turned on on all computers they use and they do virtual public school. That means that they are on the computer all day long so no logs are impossible.
Anyway, I've found an addon for Firefox that disables private browsing and I edited the toolbar file in Opera (per a user forum post) to block it in Opera, but I'm not really sure if that's working yet or not and I still need to block Chrome and IE.
Does anyone have any ideas or knowledge of how to completely block private browsing capability from all browsers? Another solution is for me to find a full proof solution for one browser and remove all others; however, sometimes certain things for their school work on one browser but not the other and they have to have the ability to see and use school content.

A:Private Browsing - can we block it?

You can disable private browsing in Chrome and IE with a reg tweak. If you decide to do this, then please make sure to make a system restore point before merging the reg file.
To run a registry script:
§  Click the Windows Start Orb in the bottom-left
§  In the search box, type notepad, then click on Notepad to open it
§  Copy and paste the following text into the notepad document:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Privacy]
§  Click on File, then Save As...
§  Click on your Desktop as the save location, then in the file name box type: fix.reg.
§  Click save and close the notepad document.
§  Double-click the file fix.reg on your desktop.Note: If prompted by User Account Control, select Yes or Allow so the fix can continue.
§  A message will appear about adding information into the registry, click Yes when prompted.
§  A prompt should appear that the information was added successfully.Note: If not, please note the error message and post it in your next reply.

Hello guys
I have a few questions:
1 - How safe is private browsing?
2 - Why extensions are disabled during it?
3 - If I am someone who like to block ads and who also like private browsing what are my others options besides uBlock?
Thank you

A:How safe is private browsing?

Private browsing is a feature included in all major Web browsers, like Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer that lets you surf the Internet without leaving traces on the PC (or on your mobile device). This means that the addresses of sites visited do not appear in your history and are not stored on your PC information such as cookies, suggestions for searches or data entered in forms.

Should not be confused with anonymous browsing offered by systems like Tor or by proxies, which allow you to disguise your online identity by using the IP address of the computer: it would be a very serious mistake made at the expense of your privacy!

In PB ? you need to know ? your identity remains clearly visible, there is no type of protection: IP address who is outside knows exactly who we are and what we are visiting sites. The only protection is, as already mentioned, at the local level, where no traces are left navigation activities done online.

About ad blocking you can also try AdBlock plus.

In Opera, private browsing is off by default.

If you wish it on, you must invoke a "private window"...but that is a one session, one window employment.

I too was infected with that virus that redirects the browser to a different site, before it has a chance to go to the correct one. I ran MS safety scan and found some java associated viruses, that safety scan removed. I also removed Java, and got a new edition.
When I try to use In Private Browsing, and click the search, it adds %20 between the words, causing IE to not connect to the web page, I tried typing "Bleeping Computer" in the In Private search box, clicked "search" and it changed to %20Bleeping%20Computer%20. Then got the "IE cannot display the webpage" notification. In the "more information" box, I got "does not appear to be valid address." Well, Do Tell !
I guess one of the "innards" directions was changed, by the virus, or the repair/removal.

I observed that IE 11 In-Private Browsing Doesn't show Favicon, instead it shows IE standard logo. Is this a build-in functionality or it's a bug in IE 11 ??
"Inspect Element - Network tab" also doesn't show any request related to the Favicon while In-Private browsing, but in normal browser I can see the request related to Favicon.

This is an urgent issue and our Testing Team has raised this concern. Could anybody help me in answering the above queries.

To reproduce, Delete all browsing data, cache, cookies, and everything from Browser history.
Also, what I really want to understand here is - " Does IE 11 - In Private Browsing mode allows storing any values in Cache/Cookies/local Storage ? ". If the answer is NO, then as per my Knowledge - Favicon
is a part of Cache/Cookies and that's why I am not able to see the Favicon while browsing the Application in In-Private Mode.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

I keep getting the message that a storage problem with 'in private browsing' is keeping Silverlight from letting the movie play. Message #8010. Netflix is no help on this. I have removed and reinstalled Silverlight many times. I've tried to turn off 'in private' -don't know if it worked or not. Tried to open Netflix as administrator by holding the shift and control key when opening it- in addition to other ways. Additionally Netflix has sent me emails to download Silverlight which I don't need but anyway the mails are corrupted-scrambled and unreadable. Those emails are unreadable on my other computer/laptop as well but Netflix works fine on the laptop. I've looked here for advice in how to run as administrator and how to turn off in private browsing but it gets too complicated. I'm using win vista and IE 9 on the problem computer, win 7 and IE 8 on the laptop.

Have you tried clearing all the Temp Internet Files, and resetting IE9 to defaults?
This often will cure many issues, and at least worth a try if you have not tried it yet.

Just press the gear icon in the top right corner and choose internet options.

On the General tab, choose delete and check everything.

Then, on the Advanced Tab reset to defaults.

So figuring windows got corrupted somehow, I wanted to reinstall. But BIOS doesn't recognize my dvd rom.

"In Private" browsing might be better than nothing, but it has no memory. I am wondering if a viable alternative might be to create a User just for private browsing and encrypt that directory in C:/Users/user? Would that let me have "favorites" that were private? And would that allow sessions to restart after a crash?

Thanks, Bob

A:Encrypt C:/Users/username as an alternative to "In Private" Browsing

Not sure if I would encrypt the entire /user folder. you would need to unencrypt before doing anything else at that point.

"In Private" just means that no cookies/images/etc. are being stored permenantly on your computer. they are still saved temporarily, accessible, and recoverable and not encrypted...
What is InPrivate Browsing?

you could alternatively go with a standalone browser that runs from a USB Drive instead if this is that much of a concern and have the drive encrypted with truecrypt or something similar TrueCrypt - Free Open-Source On-The-Fly Disk Encryption Software for Windows 7/Vista/XP, Mac OS X and Linux

What is a portable app? | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives

Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives

I have not done this though, so maybe someone with actual first-hand knowledge can give their advice, but this is what I would think is the most secure.

I did a search and looked through a few dozen of the topics, but none of them seem to be the same problem I'm having.

Alright, I've been having this problem for over a year, but this last week I reformatted my computer (for HL-2 ) and it's still happening. When I goto certain web pages that use flash interfaces or view certain flash ads, my computer reboots (I don't even see the website/ad, but by using other computers I know that flash is the common link). For example, some of the ads at www.ign.com cause this problem and, as I found out yesterday, the newly designed www.iriver.com site now reboots my computer. However, other flash ads/sites do not cause this problem (I can access www.homestarrunner.com just fine and it's flash, right?) I have been having a number of difficulties with my Windows XP home edition system. (1) Browsing is hampered by URL redirects, background pop-ups (even with pop-up stopper applied) that slow down system or keep reappearing, links that lead to keyboard lockup and useless mouse clicks. (2) After numerous changes and tricks to get Adobe Flash to work, it still does not work. It indicates that it installed successfully when I uninstall and install again. (3) The system fails to shut-down properly most of the time. It rarely shows any memory problems on reboot though. Other info: I use BitDefender, Regcure, and Max Spyware Detector on a regular basis. Sometimes it appears that general computer slowdowns are due to background Bitdefender activity that will cause something to happen like a never ending opening of Windows Explorer. Hello all! I am having some problems specifically with internet browsing of all things after updating Windows 10 pro to version 1809 that just came out. And I?m only having this issue on the Lenovo T560. I have two other laptops in the house. One an HP spectre x360 with windows 10 pro version 1809 with Firefox 65 and Edge. Both Firefox and Edge on it blazing fast. Another HP crap laptop that was like $275 new in 2012 that was my grandmothers, running windows 7 pro, with Firefox 65, and IE with an AMD 1.6Ghz and 3GB of RAM and just as fast on the web as the Lenovo T560 that I have with 12GB of RAM with a new Crucial 250GB SSD with 188GB of free space. I updated all drivers, bios, etc. Looked for settings. I?m at a loss. I open up Firefox and it?s just a white screen for like 10 seconds then the page loads SLOW, and opening a blank tab takes a little bit like it?s frozen for a second and then pops. I?ve run in safe mode. Completely uninstalled. Installed an older version. But the slowness is happening on Microsoft Edge too. When I downloaded files like drivers it was telling me that windows defender scanner couldn?t detect the file and asked if I wanted to run anyway. I?ve never seen that before so I updated settings there and it still happened. I don?t know if something was triggered because it?s a refurbished business laptop that I purchased for home use for my grandmother. But with what?s in it, a 6th generation i5-6200u, 12GB RAM, new 250GB SSD. Just sur... Read more

A:BSOD while browsing with Windows Explorer and using Flash

Several different flavors of memory management, Probably a driver. Please run these two
* If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

* If you have raid update its Driver.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5-7 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Driver verifier

Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's t... Read more

I would like to save a 100%-FLASH webpage for browsing offline, such that I do not have to connect to the internet at all to view the webpage on my computer. I've looked through many sources with little avail.

By 100%-flash, I mean that the webpage has nothing but ONLY flash on it.

No matter what I try; saving the page using Save Page As, the Save Flash program, using the Download Embedded Addon; I am unable to save the webpage.

All that I am able to save is this Loader.swf, which is the blue background of the website, even though the website is highly interactive.

I have tried looking through the Firefox cache but I am only able to view the bits of pieces of the website. I am unable to save them at all.

Sidetracking a bit to IE (though IE sucks)
So I ended up looking through my Temporary Internet Files of IE and I managed to find some bits and pieces of the website AND save them, though I am unable to get them to work together. Some of the swf files I managed to recover show me nothing but blank space.

Moving back to the topic, I hoping that this bit of info below can help you better understand the problem.
From looking through my Temp Files, I realized that the website uses a mix of swf, xml, css, jpg and js loaded from a couple of different directories.

Does anyone know what to do in this situation in order to be able to save the website?

You might want to take a look over here to know what I've already tried but still failed:

A:Want to save 100%-flash webpage 4 browsing offline, but

Pretty sure there is an addon for Firefox that will do this. I can't search for it at the monent. But you should be able to find it if you browse/search through them.
