Dell 3521 BSOD UNEXPECTED STORE EXCEPTION Initially Windows 8 now on WINDOWS 10

Q: Dell 3521 BSOD UNEXPECTED STORE EXCEPTION Initially Windows 8 now on WINDOWS 10

I own a Dell Inspiron 3521 laptop. In the very first month I started getting a blue screen and fatal error UNEXPECTED STORE EXCEPTION. There is no error code.

Dell support replaced the hard disk and then for a few months the error did not occur. Again I'm facing the same issue after warranty has expired.

I upgraded to windows 10.

Now, This is happening too often and I lose the work that is unsaved. Please help.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I don't remember seeing actual BSODs caused by a Store situation. But since it seems to be happening, can you put the dump file on your OneDrive and give us a link?
We might be able to gain some insight into the situation.
If someone were to suggest you do a Clean install of Win 10, would you consider it? I assume there are Win 10 drivers for that system? Is there a Win 10 Recovery image available for download?

I've been getting this BSOD, usually once every 1-2 days. When my computer reboots, it sometimes says that boot drive cannot be found. Once I turn off my computer for a few seconds and turn it on again, it boots normally. I've tried searching for solutions, but the error seems very widespread and not due to any single cause. It started about a week ago and the only change I can think of is that I switched up my monitors - I was using a old 1920x1200 Apple DVI monitor and now I'm using a dual monitor setup with 1920x1200 Apple MiniDisplayport monitor and a 1600 x 1050 Apple DVI monitor.

Hi,

We've had our share of BSOD's in the company, most of them were solved by installing the newest drivers from the support site. There are still some laptops however, that get frequent BSOD's (4 a day on average).
The laptop is a Dell E5550, newest drivers & bios update. I've run the command sfc /scannow; after the scan was completed, it showed that there were errors but none could be fixed. I copied the log, so if someone would be kind enough to take a look at it? I'd be much obliged.
Also I don't know if I can run the dism / restorehealth command, because we have our own image on the laptops, and I if I understand correctly this replaces the current image with a default Windows image? Or does it only extract the files needed to repair?

Hello,

Starting last week my computer started making problems, since wednesday it crashed every 10-40 minutes giving me the bluescreen error "unexpected store exception" and rarely sometimes "Memory management" in the wednesday morning i saw that theres a new windows update aviable so after a few BSODs i decided to update windows, the update changed nothing, i checked for new drivers, installed a new driver for my graphic card, no changes, i googled for the problem and found the solution to turn off fast startup, turned it off, still got bluescreens, i ran memtest and chkdsk, no errors found, i checked for fragmentation of my hard drives, C was 5 % fragmented, i defragmented it, no changes.

Because i suspected a RAM problem i went into the Bios and checked how the ram is adressed, i found out that the Ram is adressed with a lower clock and voltage than it is recomended by the manufacturer, the timings were wrong to, i fixed that, noticed that the ram workload got down, but the bluescreens continued

Then i found bleepingcomputers and looked trough the bluescreen section, i ran memtest86+ as described here https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/3909-test-ram-memtest86.html#post28391 , it ran 12 hours strait for 14 passes and found no errors, then i ran seatools as described here https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/4072-hard-drive-hdd-diagnostics.html it abortet one long test after 3 hours, restarted it, did a new long test and i... Hi,

I keep encountering the blue screen of death once every day. It does not matter what I am doing. It has happened when I play games, and it has happened when my computer is idle. The computer will freeze for about 10 seconds and then the BSOD will appear. The error code is: Unexpected Store Exception.

After that, the computer reboots to a black screen which asks me to choose a bootable device, but pressing any key does not do anything and I am forced to manually reboot by holding down the power button on my computer. Once I have done this, the computer reboots just fine. The error will not occur again until the next day.

Please help, and thanks! JUSTIN-PC-Fri_09_16_2016__01157_30.zip

I have a T440p with Windows 10 Pro that every few days bluescreens with an "Unexpected Store Exception" error.  After it reboots itself I then get a black screen with a "2100: Selection Error on HDD0 (Main HDD)" error.  I have to power it off and then back on to bring it back up.  It seems to work fine until the next time the bluescreen occurs again.  I have ran Lenovo tests on everything (motherboard, HDD, etc.) and reconnected the HDD to the controller.  Everything appears to be fine (and the tests say as much).  How can I determine whether the HHD, MB or something else is the cause?

Hello everyone I am having a constant BSOD. Sometimes it'll only happen 3 times a week, other times it'll happen 10 times a week.
THE BLUESCREEN CRASHES SO HARD IT DOESN'T CREATE MINIDUMP
These are the THREE different ways it'll enter the crash
1. My video will freeze but the audio will continue then it'll BSOD
2. The computer will get really laggy and bluescreen
3. Any music I have playing in the background will stop, the computer will work fine for about 15 seconds then it'll crash.
HERE IS WHAT I'VE TRIED
1. Update BSOD
2. Clean computer
3. Speed up fans
4. Update all drivers
5. deleted unused sound drivers (Just did that today unsure if that fixed it, I did not reinstall realtek high def audio yet)
6. Upgraded PSU

I am constantly having this problem with my laptop. As I plug in and unplug my headphones throughout the day, I've noticed that after a couple times the bass gets really quiet and almost completely drops out. Since I have some pretty decent audiophile headphones with really great bass, it is super annoying and noticeable.
One workaround I have discovered is to go to the audio settings (either in Windows or the Dell Audio app), and switch the Default Format (the thing with 24-bit, 48000Hz in it)  to something else, play some audio, then switch it back.
A little word on my setup: I have the latest drivers from the Dell download page installed. I am running Windows 10 64-bit with all the updates. I have Waves Maxx audio "enhancements" disabled. My Default Format is usually set to 24-bit 48000Hz, but the problem eventually happens no matter what I set it to. The "headphone size" option is set to "Medium", but as far as I can tell this option does nothing if I do not have Waves Maxx enabled. Switching it also does not fix the problem.
If I play audio using WASAPI (this basically means that the music player takes over the sound card completely, and bypasses whatever audio processing Windows and the driver has) the problem does not happen.
How do I fix this problem? It's incredibly annoying, and most likely has something to do with the audio driver, since this does not happen in Linux, and it did not happen when I was runn... Read more

Hello, Dell Community. I've recently bought a headset with a mic. I also have a headset splitter because theres only one audio jack and there was two cables one for mic and one for audio. Now when I plug it in a pop up comes up asking me the following. Is the device you just plugged into the jack Headphones, Headset, Skullcandy headset, etc. I select headset now the purpose that I bought this headset was recording with the mic in the headset so now I go to record and my dell laptop doesn't pick up the mic and it doesn't play audio. So I go to recording devices and I right click and press show disabled devices and disconnected devices and my headset doesnt show up on the list! So I go through and uninstall and install the drives which also doesn't work I've tried only using the mic plugin. and It doesn't detect it I need help! If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it I'm using a Dell Insprion 3521 Laptop Running Windows 10 64 bit.

Hello there. I've searched so much to find some solution, but i couldn't, so i'm post here asking for help, thanks in advance.
1st time I installed Win10 on my laptop drivers were fine, though can't remember if I installed drivers after or before upgrading. I had to format my laptop a week ago, installed all drivers on win7, then upgraded to 10, but i've a lot of problems and audio driver is one of them. Take a look at these pictures, they say everything:

Can You help me about this ?
I do also have graphics driver problems, check pls:

Thanks.

A:Inspiron 3521, Dell Audio and AMD driver not working, Windows 10 clean installation

When I run installer for AMD video driver (8730) , my screen goes black for some time (idk if it's normal), then it requires restart. After I restart a black screen appears and it takes a lot of time for windows to load the page where a user types his password to log in. After i type my password and desktop screen appears i have these problems :
1) a strange box of pixels appears on the screen and doesn't move ( something like the picture shows)
2) right click on desktop opens a menu that contains half of lines it has to
3) cannot open Catalyst Control Center
4) when clicking on Configure Switchable graphics it opens Intel HD graphics settings
here are some picture of what i'v got now:
I uninstalled AMD Catalyst Install Manager from Control Panel, then AMD Radeon HD 8730M from Device Manager, and tried to reinstall, but everything is like it was before.
What can I do about this ?
I do also have Dell Audio driver problems, and I posted about it too:
Thanks.

I have been working on a laptop windows XP, SP2 Sony Vaio for about 7 hours now.
Originally it had no functionality due to the Windows Recovery Virus, but having tackled that (using ComboFix) I have now found further problems. It was first apparent when Windows IE redirected and Google Chrome failed to load. Programs are failing to install properly and my memory sticks are infected every time I insert them into the laptop. However after following instructions for obtaining diagnostics using the following as a guide;

I would like some further guidance. Hopefully it should be a simple case but the sooner the better, until then I'll continue to see if I can do anything myself.

Thanks for your time.

Well...I don't think that it's wise to use a malware topic for a specific person on a specific system...with perhaps other problems...as a "guide" for self-troubleshooting.

That said, I will move your topic to the Am I Infected forum where those experienced with malware situations...can advise/suggest.

Hi KBHopper and welcome to Tenforums.
Sorry about your problems. I would suggest just doing a reset, or, if you've got the thing setup already and don't want to start from square one, do a repair install using an in-place upgrade. It's easy, and should resolve your issues. Basically, you download the ISO from MSTechBench, right-click and mount it, then run setup.exe. It will maintain all your programs and files, and fix everything else in the OS.

Hope that helps!

Hello, I had the Power Manager from the windows store and it was working fine until today. Today, I decided to reset windows to refresh my system (there was nothing wrong with it), Now, I install the power manager and it gives me the picture attached here:

Unfortunately, when I hit no, the program closes. If i select yes, I can only view the battery's life and not the ability to set max charge or minimum charge or adaptive  charge etc. If I try to download this same program off of Dell's website (which is compatible with 7577 NOT 7567 for whatever reason) it won't let me. The easy fix is to of course find the DPM component service but I cannot find that anywhere!! So any help will be appreciated. This is a big pretty deal, as I made an account just for this reason. I find the  dell power manager very helpful and love the program, but now I am beginning to question whether Dell intentionally makes the programs only for their latest laptops and products, which is ***.

I have been getting a BSOD every time I leave my computer on for over 12 hours. This has been going on for a year or so. I built the computer two years ago and had no problems for the first year. I have sent the motherboard in two times already trying to fix the problem but to no avail. I have updated all of the motherboard drivers in hopes that fixes it but that didn't work either. Can someone read my latest MiniDump file for me and tell me what is wrong? Thank you in advance!

I have been dealing with mostly random shutdowns with the occassional BSOD for quite a while.
I have run Memtest 86+ but cannot get it to scan more than about an hour and a half before it freezes. I am not too familiar with how this program is supposed to work but here is what happens. Computer booths up into memtest 86+ starts to run lasts about 15 seconds and reboots this happened twice more before it finally gets going so far I have gotten one error on one Bit at memory 2178.9 MB the assurance code is 154, if this means anything this error was generated after running for almost 2 Hrs. at this point the computer rebooted and ran for about 2 minutes before freezing the code was then 163. On another occasion that I ran memtest 86 the program froze with the screen showing withe lines on a blue back ground with a red bar at the top and a white bar at the bottom.
I have not been able to install the SF_diagnostic_tool, I get an error (see attached file) I have minidump files but don't know how to get them without sf-diagnostic. I am logged in as administrator
THe computer is as follows:
Motherboard: Asus M5A99X EVO
CPU AMD FX8120
Memory Patriot PSD34G16002
Video Card HIS icecube X AMD Radeon HD6950
Monitor Viewsonic VX24553
C: seagate 1TB
d: backup Westerndigital 1TB
E: Music drive Westerndigital 1TB
I hope someone can help getting very frustrated.
Thank you

A:BSOD and unexpected shutdown in Windows 7 64 Bit

Hi .
A single error is enough in my books the RAM cannot be trusted anymore, so posting the crash dumps wouldn't
be much helpful until we get rid of the failing module.

You describe a situation where you cannot test the RAM without the PC freezing, how are you loading MEMTest86+
i.e. via a CD / USB?

Start testing the modules one at a time and let each module complete between 8-10 passes or until errors are found,
whichever comes first. You can also determine whether it's a particular slot / module following this logic;

Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

First run it with all the existing/installed RAM modules. If it comes with no error, all is good.

But if it starts showing errors, Stop testing. Errors/red lines means one or more RAM is faulty. But the fault may occur due to a faulty DIMM slot, too, which is a motherboard component. Using memtest86+, you can discriminate between a faulty RAM and a faulty motherboard.

How? Say you have two RAM sticks and two DIMM slots. You obtained errors at the test with all RAM sticks installed. Now, remove all the sticks but one. Test it in all the available slots, one by one. Continue the same procedure for all the available sticks.
How to make the inference that is it a RAM issue or it is a motherboard issue? Suppose you... Read more

Hi -

Please go back and rerun the BSOD file collection app. It was cancelled after 40 seconds of runtime. There are only 8 files in the zip; there should be ~30. Per the instructions, it may need to run for up to 10 minutes.

Skip step #4 as PERFMON was present.

It looks as if your 2Wire Wireless Adapter driver are the cause. Dated 2007, its age is enough to cause a BSOD.

Please uninstall your wireless drivers and then install a fresh, up-to-date copy.

Hi Guys!

I'm new to this forum and this is my 1st post,...
Lately I've installed some programs... Connectify...CommView...AirCrack...etc..
Windows Update performed some updates..changed my themes several times...installed a font pack.
And many other things that confused me a lot when I experienced my first BSOD.

After some time things seemed ok, then I experienced a few more BSOD's.that's why I decided to uninstall many programs that I suspect to be the trouble maker, did a system restore, used CCleaner to tidy up the registry and defragmented my drives...

I thought that was the end but just now as I finished typing this I've had a new BSOD!!!!
Damn I was so frustrated!!! I'm doing my Java Programming then it all blues out!

Someone please help me solve this.... I got a glance of the blue screen error details and I saw a 'driver error' somethin' before my pc restarted so I guess a driver is the fault..

I followed carefully the instructions on uploading the files needed. If it was messed up. I do apologize for my stupidity just tell me where I went wrong

Hello, all. As a word of warning, you are dealing with a technologically challenged lady. I leave my laptop on all the time, in the sleep mode with the cover down when I am not using it. I use Google Chrome and have approximately 8 windows open at a time, most with 20 or 30 tabs at a time. I restart it at least once a week. I received a BSOD earlier today. Use AVG's removal tool to remove all AVG files

A:Windows Has Recovered From Unexpected Shutdown after BSOD

This looks like it only occurred once. Usually flukes like this can occur for a single instance, and should be of no concern unless it becomes a repeat issue.

Checking the minidump, I saw this was caused by dump_wmimmc.sys corrupting Windows kernel code. The source of it is \??\D:\X-Play\Audition Dance Battle\GameGuard\dump_wmimmc.sys. Does this appear familiar to you? From the looks of it, you are running a game that uses GameGuard anti-cheat software which hooks into the system using the dump_wmimmc.sys driver. This sucker is known for causing bugs time from time. I'm not sure what I can tell you as to what you can do to remedy this. I guess look up info on GameGuard, see if others playing the same game are having similar issues, stuff like that. This seems to be specifically a bug within GameGuard itself, so it's not really that can be resolved outside of either trying to find an update for it or to simply forgo playing the game until they get it fixed. A reinstall may also remedy the issue. In addition, it did occur during your AVG process, so you will want to update AVG or may even be forced to use another AV software right now, since GameGuard is known to conflict with a number of AV engines.

I did notice that your system reported at the time you did the BSOD Report that it was very low on available RAM. You will want to upgrade the RAM on your system as running out of memory can do a number of oddball things. I doubt it's the cause of the problem here, but it will be... Read more

santics - please post your information in a separate topic so that your issue can get the individual attention that it deserves.

While waiting for a reply, please include this information: http://www.techsupportforum.com/f217...ns-452654.html

FYI - the error is a STOP 0xCE and blames USBVideo.sys (a part of the Windows Operating System). More information on that error here: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x000000CE

My computer was restarting abruptly. I changed the settings to prevent restart. Now it shows a BSoD
"Machine check exception" 0x0000009C

System : Intel Pentium IV , windows xp.

My troubleshooting so far :

1. I allowed the computer to boot up and entered BIOS setup. Then allowed it to sit in BIOS. It did not reboot. I think we can rule out overheating and processor related problems.

2. Booted windows xp in safe mode and allowed it to remain. It rebooted after a while. So we can rule out any software related problems.

3. It has 512 Mb ddr2 ram ( single stick ). I changed this with a new ram. This did not solve the reboot problem. so RAM is unlikely the cause.

4. Changed the ram to the second slot. It did not stop the rebooting. So faulty slot in motherboard is not the problem.

Its getting bit frustrating to pin point the cause. My suspects still are :
a. hard disk overheating / faulty bus

b. some problem in motherboard circuit/capacitors etc , now this would be a tough nut to crack. It is a new motherboard , so should not be so.

c. some weird window xp problem. may be i need to re-install. By the way i forgot to mention that I was getting the restart problem during installation of my current windows. does that point to anything ?

folks, any ideas/help please.

Windows XP takes most of the small amount of RAM you have to run successfully.

However your error message is telling us here, here and from here, that you may have a Hard Drive issue.

Is it possible to install more RAM on your system?

Post back if you need more help....

kind regards,

Hi there... I hope you can help me...

I have ASUS 1215B and I installed Windows 8 2 times on it.
When first time I installed Windows 8, I always get BSOD which caused by ntoskrnl.exe (when I checked on BlueScreen Viewer) and I can't get calculating of Windows Experience Index.
From The First time, I think :
1. Maybe my ram was bad. I checked it with memtest86+ and I got no errors.
2. Maybe my hardisk was bad. I checked it with HDD Regenerator and HDD Tune and I got the same result no errors.
3. Maybe I have wrong patch for activation windows and watermark remover, because I think it related to ntoskrnl.exe, so I install again for the second time.

At second time, I can get calculating of Windows Experience Index and I get BSOD not as often as before.

Sorry for my bad english...

A:(please help) system service exception bsod on windows 8

I Just Want To Know How Cause My ASUS 1215B still get BSOD.
