I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,
I am have recently bought a dell inspiron 15 7000 series laptop. Its only been a month that I have been using it. Everything was fine but my airplane mode button (the button beside F12 and PrtScr which are working fine) stopped working. Any help? Every other buttons on the button row is fully functional so I fear its not a keyboard matrix problem?
Please help me.

A:Airplane mode button not working. Any help, please? First time dell user.

Hi Folks - First Post. I have a Y50-70 and upgraded to the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition (Version 1607 Build 14393.51) and now the Energy Manager will not enable Conservation Mode. I can enable the mode but the battery still charges to 100% and I will get the message that the battery has been above 70% for a long time. I uninstalled the application and the driver and reinstalled them but it does not seem to work.  Any suggestions? I don't want to try gaming on battery :-) Thanks!

As you can see there are multiple problems that have come up in this notebook. I recently reinstalled windows 10 to solve some other problems. The installation went perfect and afterward everything seemed to work fine. When my wife turned it on the blue BIOS screen came on (as it did before the installation) and I was unable to use the touchpad, mouse or arrow keys to move the selection. I rebooted and it started up fine only the keyboard did not work. I had to use the onscreen keyboard to log in. Once inside, sometimes the keyboard works and sometimes it doesn't. I've tried using the f6 to toggle the touchpad on but it didn't work. The keyboard is touch and go and now the blue screen BIOS sometimes comes up when the computer is started. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've searched for solutions and haven't been able to find anything that works to solve these problems. I've uninstalled the drivers and rebooted for a fresh re-install of the drivers but that only temporarily fixes the problem. Thank you.

Hi, I recently bought a Lenovo Flex 5 from Costco in the summer of 2017 right before college. Since then, for a while now, it has a couple key issues. 1. My battery life is basically <2 hours on low power mode and 90% brightness, I basically always have to keep my laptop plugged in to use it.2. The fan on my laptop spins randomly and frequently and I don't think I have any high demanding applications running.3. Randomly while typing, the computer will spazz out and flash a lot and switch into and out of tablet mode. Sometimes it gets stuck in tablet mode and I have to figure out ways to go back to normal mode. Are these issues common in this laptop or do I have a defective model? What should I go about doing? Thanks!

Hi everyone. I recently installed Windows 7 64-bit on a new V310-15ISK which came with FreeDOS. I got all the drivers installed ok, everything seems to be working fine, except for a couple of quirks: 1. Airplane mode hotkey (F7) is not turning the wireless adapter on/off as it should. Instead I get a blank wireless status window which tells me to turn my wireless adapter on first (which it already is).2. Somewhere in Lenovo Energy Management it says it can't give further info about the battery because it's not an original Lenovo battery  (which is a lie). I had to try a few ACPI drivers for the hotkeys to work as there was none on the product support page. I settled on 4eem02ww.exe which is the most recent functional version I found on the web. Can anyone point me to a proper ACPI driver that lets Airplane mode enable/disable the wireless adapter (and displays all battery info)? Cheers.

Ya, if you look in the applications section of our Drivers and Manuals, you can download the Acer Launch Manager. Good place to start, but I'm not 100% on what software is required for the keystrokes, and not all software can be downloaded (due to royalties and other legal issues).

Hi I just recently got a Y700 laptop( Model: 80NW0010US ). 15" Touchscreen versionJust recently the F5 Airplane Mode hot key has stopped working. It worked when I first received it a few days ago, and all of the other hotkeys are still working just fine. I should probably mention that the F5 key, itself, works. As I can still hit the F5 key and it will refresh the current web page. I can still turn airplane mode on/off through network settings, but I really want to fix the hotkey if possible. I've gone to Lenovo's support page and installed the following:-BIOS update-Energy_Manager_and_Flight_Mode_Driver-Battery Gauge-WLAN-Synaptics-Intel WLAN-Intel Management Engine Interface Driver-Intel Bluetooth-Intel Chipset-Lenovo Utility-Advanced Configuration and Power Management Interface (ACPI) Driver I have run the following programs(none of which show anything being infected/corrupted):-McAfee Antivirus-Malwarebytes-Command Prompt ( sfc and DISM ) None of the above helped in fixing the airplane mode hotkey. Touchpad is working only intermittently. Under Human Interface Devices, I have 2 entries for 12C HID Device. When the pad stops working, one will have a ! in a triangle with a code 10 error. I can uninstall, hard shut down (note: restart does nothing. Hard shut down is required) and have the touchpad back, usually throughout startup. It will disappear again just after startup. Rinse, repeat four or five times, and it will work for maybe a couple of hours. I've removed everything from Startup. I've updated using Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update. I am at the point of considering a factory reset, but I'd rather not do that if anyone has a suggestion? I've been dealing with this about two weeks. Not sure if it was in conjunction with a Windows Update, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised. Note: If I uninstall both 12C HID Device entries, rather than uninstalling the second entry, the first reappears with the warning sign.

With the new airplane tray icon, I find that after I resume from a hibernate the icon is not working all the time.

With some testing, I found that if I resumed from hibernate right away then the problem didn't always appear. But after being hibernated a few minutes or more, the problem has appeared every time.

If I turn off airplane mode using the notifications tray icon, the airplane tray icon remains in the tray. I can go to wifi and connect manually, but the airplane tray icon is still there. Hovering over it with the mouse pointer and it says wifi is not connected, even though it is.

In addition, once the airplane icon stops working so does the speaker icon. I can't get left or right mouse clicks to do anything. This behavior of the speaker icon started after the (November) update, which I just installed last week.

Only a restart or shutdown/start clears both these issues.

Anyone else see this?

Hi all. So 2 days ago I was using the laptop for some course work, I then went asleep for maybe 2 hours and when I woke up I was unable to use the touchpad or kyboard. Now I had this issue before but it seemed to fix itself after a day or two. So far I have reset the computer while keeping all my own files, updated, deleted, reinstalled the drivers multiple times, removed the keypad to ensure the ribbon wasn't loose etc etc. I have since been able to get the touchpad to work by messing with the drivers but the keyboard remains the same. I oticed I am able to use it when either the laptop is held at an angle or if the screen if opened up almost flat. I'm guessing this is a driver issue but I can't for the life of me figure out how to resolve this. I've done a lot of reading online about this issue and it seems many people have had the same problem but no posts gave me any real solution. Any help is very much appreciated. Welcome to the Forums Bevvy!

Press Windows+X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".  Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Re-open the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Water spilled into a laptop can cause a variety of problems as well as short  circuits.  It would be difficult to pin point exactly where your problems lie.  I suspect though that laptop isn't thoroughly dried out yet which maybe part of the problem.  I would suggest you open it up and let it continue to dry out, before proceeding further.  For your reference here is a link to your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual.......

I bought my HP Pavilion 17-g121wm at Walmart. Works fine, but the fn-F12, which is supposed to toggle Airplane mode on/off, doesn't work. And although Settings shows that the laptop is in Airplane Mode, it isn't. Wifi is enabled. In short, I cannot turn Airplane mode on to conserve battery. I've tried updating the LAN driver, and also installing F12 key driver. Neither helped. I'm looking for some way to be able to toggle wireless on and off. Right now, wireless is always on and I can't change it.

I am using an HP laptop with Windows 8.

My problem: I am looking for a way to disable the wifi (airplane mode) button. I am NOT looking for a way to disable wifi or airplane mode, but the actual button that controls airplane mode.

Why?: I never use the airplane mode button (because it is useless), and because Windows thinks its funny to make me go to Charms/Settings/Change PC Settings in order to simply re-enable my wifi after accidentally hitting the airplane mode button (why do they? Who knows.). The reason I keep accidentally hitting the airplane mode button is because I use a mousepad on top of my keyboard while playing games (which frequently hits the airplane mode button). If I cannot find out how to disable the button, then I will simply rip the physical key out of my keyboard (since Windows can't find a better way to solve MINOR issues like these) as a means to stop accidentally hitting the key.

How can I simply disable the button's use?

Thank you,

-Miles

A:How to disable airplane mode *button* in Windows 8?

The only Airplane buttons in Windows 8 that I have found are the one in Settings and the one you get to via the Network icon in the Notification Area. Are you talking about the latter one? Theoretically that is a toggle that will then turn Airplane Mode back off (i.e., turn the Wi-Fi back on).

On my Lenovo I can also toggle it via the Fn + F5 key combination, but of course that is not part of Windows.

I seem to recall seeing it listed in Device Manager or someplace. Anyway, the button was working fine, but today I tried to switch my Wi-Fi off using the F12 button, and it didn't work. I clicked on the Wi-Fi icon in the task bar and switched to airplane mode that way. That worked, and the light on the Wi-Fi button changed from white to orange. I still couldn't use the F12 button to turn airplane mode off. I turned airplane mode off manually and reconnected to my Wi-Fi, but the airplane mode icon continued to show on the task bar, even though I was connected to the Internet, able to browse web pages, etc. I rebooted, and still the same problem. In network settings I went in and turned airplane mode off there (even though I was already connected), but the Wi-Fi button is still not working. Is this all a Windows 10 bug, or is there a fix? I noticed similar behavior on a friend's newer HP laptop (a Notebook 15 model) that came with Windows 10 installed--i.e., the airplane mode icon displaying despite the system having an active Wi-Fi connection. Thanks in advance for any advice or explanation.
