X1 Yoga 2017 power bank

Q: X1 Yoga 2017 power bank

Given the X1 Yoga 2017 charges via its USB C/thunderbolt ports, I was wondering whether I could pick up a power bank to charge the device on the go Can anyone recommend a power bank that has enough juice to recharge this laptop? (doesn't have to be a full recharge) I'm not really sure what I'm meant to be looking at when it comes to power banks, let alone ones that are intended for laptop recharging

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I want to get a power bank that can charge my Yoga 920 via USB-C.  What are the requirements for a power bank to do this?  Power Delivery?  A certain voltage?  something else?  I don't want to order one only to find it won't charge the laptop.  For example, I'm considering the iWALK Secretary II 10000 mah Power Bank.  Thanks!

Just got a Yoga 700-11ISK. It's great. Love it. Want to know how I can charge it from a power bank. The battery life is good-not-great. I know it needs 20v. If I snagged a 24v power bank and used the USB C cable,  would I get a charge? Anyone have alternate suggestions? I'll solder together something totally unsafe if need be.

A:Yoga 700 - How do I charge it from a power bank?

I am getting some info from the Lenovo team on the USB Type C port if it supports audio, video or whatever application however seems to be that the Type C is just another USB port for portable devices such as external HDD.There have been discussions about charging the laptop via Type C however I don't think you can as its only suppose to charge via the AC port. Don't fry the mobo mate.

Hi everyone,  I am trying to find out if the yoga 3 pro has the ability to be charged using a power bank and the original lenovo power cord ( usb adapter). The power bank i am trying to use is a unifun power bank i have also tried the mophie with the dual usb port for smartphone/tablet.  The specs for the unifun power bank are Specification:?Model: U821 ?Capacity: 10400mAh ?Input: 5V/2A ?Out1: 5V/1A(MAX) ?Out2: 5V/2 .1A(MAX)  Or if there is a power bank out there that does charge the yoga 3 pro what is it?  Thank you,

A:Yoga 3 Pro / UNIFUN power bank

Good day and welcome to the community.

The Yoga 3 Pro looks for 20V input, 4x what that power bank can output. Also, the proprietary cable has extra contacts.

There may be power banks that can supply the proper voltage, but I think it unlikely that one has the proprietary receptacle configuration to match the cable.

Regards.

Greetings from Portugal. I'd just like to say that i've found a powerbank that can be used with the 900s (and probably others that use the same charger). The one i found, and can confirm charges the laptop, is "RAVPower 27000mAH Powerstation" that i found on amazon. It's a powerbank with a regular power plug to connect the charger, so it could be called a mini ups instead of a powerbank. Hope this helps people looking for something similar.

Just a heads-up: I bought this Lenovo Yoga 13 Ideapad in 2013, so it's out of warranty. Proceed to read my problem..... I always get a black screen whenever I shut off my laptop and turn it back on again, which is why I lock my laptop instead. But when I DO lock it and get back on it the next morning, I encounter the Black screen of death and instead of my lockscreen immediately appearing like normal after I lock it and have left it overnight & try to get on it, I have to shut down my laptop and turn it back on because my laptop won't immedately take me to the lock screen so I can log into my computer.  Today (March 17, 2017), I had to shut down and turn on my laptop while pressing the rotation button button or the OneKey Recovery button (the button with a circle and a line going through it; I don't know exactly what it's called, but I think it's the recovery button OR the screen rotation button, on the right hand side of the computer: If anyone knows the name of this button, please let me know!)..I tried this 5 times and It wouldn't turn on. The 6th time pressing the Recovery button OR the screen rotation button on the right side of the laptop (whatever it's called), it did work and now I'm on my laptop typing like normal. But this Lenovo Yoga Ideapad 13 only works when it wants to. Is there any proven fix to this hardware issue? I was told that it was a motherboad issue, but what's the real culprit? And is the motherboard what's actually giving me th... Read more

You can find a huge collection by searching ?power banks for laptops? on a search engine. You just need to compare things like capacity, weight, and price.  The power bank should have a USB standard charging port and a DC output port as well. Has anyone tried this or have a story to tell about power banks? My relatively new X1C does quite poorly on battery if I'm doing real work, e.g. compiling and running apps with Visual Studio & SQL Server.  Fiddling with the battery settings doesn't make that much of a difference so I thought why not carry a brick with me when on the road? I'm just starting to look into it but real stories from real users are just so much better than generic 'reviews' or hidden adverts that have become all too commonplace in the last few years.

I've been using my X1 Yoga 2017 for a few weeks now and I've noticed that when I'm doing simple things like checking email, browsing the web etc. the fan kicks in sporadically. The is most noticeable when I first power on the computer, or wake it up from sleep The problem is that the fan is pretty loud, for example, if I'm sitting in a meeting and the fan kicks in then its pretty audible to most people in the (small) room Is there a way to control the fan RPM or at least reduce the fan noise in some way so that its not so noticeable? I would prefer not to have to open up the computer to do any work (e.g. reapplying TIM) Currently my CPU temp is 48C, but it goes up to 84C usually straight after windows starts and thats when the fan really kicks into high gear

I recently purchased a Zbook Studio for video editing, and am wondering how to charge it through a power bank.  I initially thought of using usb-c but then I read that you cannot charge through this port.  The battery life isn't too great on this computer, so when I go to take trips to Yosemite it only lasts a few hours of editing until I have to find a wall port somewhere.  I want to charge from a usb-3 power bank, and am wondering how to do this without a larger battery that has a wall power port.  Thanks!

I have a Yoga P40 i use (or would like to use) with Autodesk 3DSMax 2017, but when i try and use this software it become unresponsive to pen input controls after a number of mins use (2-3mins) if i use a mouse or trackpad the software is still responding, but not to pen inputs. I have contacted Autodesk and Wacom technical support and both have stated that its a driver related issue directly related to the YogaP40 and therefore is down to Lenovo to fix? I have also tried various driver options, like disabling the Windows INK options, but with little success. Does anyone else use this software and laptop comination and have the same issue? (Software like Photoshop and Mudbox and fine, but not 3DsMax). Regards..

Hello,

This problem is from a friend of mine but he doesn't has a computer now. Yesterday he was charging his powerbank through his Laptop (Asus bought 3 months ago) USB port. After a while the computer was shutdown and won't turn on, even when it's plugged through its power adapter.

Is there any solution to this?
Thanks!

A:Laptop wont turn on after charging power bank

Hi and welcome to TSG.

As annoying as it can be to have to do it, your best option if it appears totally dead is to RMA the laptop if it is only 3 months old. Fiddling about with it too much trying to diagnose the problem could end up invalidating any warranty your friend has.

The only simple checks I would do are to try and power it up with and without the power cord connected.
Then remove the battery (assuming it is a removable one) and try it again with the power adapter attached.

It could be a problem with the laptop or that the power brick has just failed, it happens occasionally.

Hi all, got this power bank (40AL140CWW) for my P1. It is listed as acceptable for the system on the Option Compatibility Matrix (January, 2019). Got it a while back, tested it, worked fine: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/9uyew4/fieldtesting_the_lenovo_usbc_14000mah_power_bank/ Using it today (charged yesterday) ... all four lights on the bank come on when I plug it into my P1, but, the system is behaving differently ... previously, the bank powered the unit and its LEDs went off one by one as the charge decreased; the main battery indicator on the bottom did not move off 95%. This time, the main battery indicator shows a decreasing level of charge, and so far, the bank still has four LEDs illuminated. Even weirder, the "remaining time" at one point seemed to indicate the battery was present (showing 8+ hours remaining) but now, even that has changed, and the system is acting like there is no power bank installed at all (shows 3 hours and 33 min [77%] remaining.) I am using the USB-C power cord that came with the bank. Is it defective? TIA, -kj-

New to community.  Just ordered Yoga 910 as indicated above.  Specifically model # 80VF00FRUS.  I've read numerous reviews and see two adjustments that are required to address the fan and heat issues: 1. BIOS update and set "Quiet Mode"  2. Uninstall the QUALCOMM WLAN installer/driver. Is there anything else that I should do as the "first things" before I begin installing software and transfering my data files from my previous computer (ASUS ROG G74s) ? The Yoga 910 I ordered states that the anniversary date is April 2017.  Possibly, the fan noise and heat issues have been resolved by Lenovo ??? Thank you, Ray

Hello, I just received an X1 Yoga 2nd Gen (2017) with monitor "Flexview Display 1920x1080", which is having constant "ghost touches" unless I disable the "HID compliant touch screen" in Windows Device Manager. The ghost touching happens constantly, rendering the device useless while the touchscreen is enabled. It is also focused on one specific area of the screen. There were no problems the first day, the problem seemed to start after I converted the machine into tablet mode and wrote notes for 10 mins using Windows Sketchbook and the included pen. I'm running Windows 10, basically just out of the box after going through a few rounds of automatic system updates.I have the most current driver of the Wintab Driver for Wacom Pen 7.3.4.33. I've seen this thread for the Yoga 3 which has reported a similar issue: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/ll06_en/thread-id/26944/page/9 The problem goes away COMPLETELY if I disable the touchscreen and returns if I re-enable it.

Hello Everyone, I am considering the purchase of a specific power bank for my L540 laptop. The product is the Vinsic 30000mah. I can't seem to get clarification on whether my Lenovo laptop will successfully hook up with the PB and take the charge. As far as I can tell, the PB has a lot of muscle and is well-recommended. The PB comes with 8 adaptors; for Lenovo products it lists a  7.9*10 mm adaptor. It says it has 3 output ports: 1 DC output up to 19V 3.5A, with a max output current of 4.5A; and 2 Smart USB outputs, with output up to 5V 2.4A.  It also says it has 2 Input ports: 1 DC input and 1 Micro USB input. I am uncertain if the specs on my L540 make it compatible with the features listed shown above. Can someone with expertise advise me if I'm Ok to go ahead with the purchase based on the features? Many thanks!
