constant freezing, then continures as if its normal

Q: constant freezing, then continures as if its normal

i have a custom built computer used mainly for gaming. specs are as follows:athlon x2 6000 dual core processor 3.1 ghz4 gb ocz ramwindows 7 ultimate (legit copy)1.6 terrabytes hard disk spacethe problem I am having is very frustrating. I can sometimes go for hours without interruption then out of the blue, the machine freezes, no activity at all, then after sometimes a few seconds, other times as much as 30 to 45 seconds, the computer carrys on as if it was not even stopped. I have looked online to try everything I can to find the problem but it still exists. I have replaced the RAM & CPU but i still have a problem. I now admit I need professional help. attached are the logs asked for in the malware removal forum post. three files, DDS.txt, ATTACH.txt and ARK.txtDDS (Ver_10-03-17.01) - NTFSx86 Run by Cliff at Preferred Solution: constant freezing, then continures as if its normal

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi guys

Just joined the forums, although I've lurked here for a while and I knew if someone knew the answer to this, it'd be you guys.

I searched on google and on this forums and didn't find a relevant answer so here it goes:

I've been running 7 x64 pro for a couple of weeks now, and WUDFHost.exe keeps a constant 10% cpu usage. I don't think it was like that when my install was fresh, but I'm not actually certain. 10% counts to me since my cpu is not all that powerful and is limiting my fps in certain games when it gets to 100% usage.
So is it normal for this process to act this way? Is there a safe way to turn it off when not needed? (or am I constantly needing it and am too dense to notice?. I tried stopping it with the task manager but it insta-starts up again.
Thanks in advance!

A:WUDFHost.exe constant 10% CPU usage normal?

One of your hardware devices it using a User mode drive, WUDFHost.exe is required for that driver to communicate with the hardware.

I just purchased a new D-Link Wi-Fi router, hooked it up, enabled WPA/WPA2 (auto select) encryption and successfully connected 2 laptops to it via wireless. I have noticed that the wireless activity indicator is constantly flashing (but not accessing the internet) even when the laptops are offline and the log shows that the router is constantly blocking access.
The laptops' access speeds are not slow so I know the router is working properly.
I'm just curious if this is a normal phenomenon. Something or things seem to constantly try to get on my router but I have a huge encryption key with a mishmash of letters and numbers.
I just hope whatever is trying to access my network does not succeed.

A:Constant Unauthorized Access Attempts - Normal?

Actually, that's the beacon broadcasting the SSID, perfectly normal. If you've used a strong key with the WPA/WPA2 configuration, I doubt anyone is breaking in.

SOLVED!!! (FINGERS CROSSED)- problem below was solved by reading another post. Ran TDSSKiller and everything seems fine.
Windows XP Professional with all updates until two weeks ago. Since the issue arose I my autoupdates hang. I have Advast Antivirus and SuperAntiSpyware.
I believe it started about 2 weeks ago when a link was hyjacked and suddenly my computer was attempted to install "Security Tool." I immediately ran SuperAnti and it caught and deleted the malware (so I thought). After reboots I have an error that mndibdp.dll is missing. I was using chrome as a browser and started experiencing frequent crashes. I switched to Firefox and things did not get better. I started noticing occasional redirects when I would click links to webpages that appeared to be random pay for click search engines. Problem went from bad to worse. I run Avast and SuperAnti every time I start up the computer and also downloaded Malwarebytes for a third option. I have seen floods of Trojans even though I am surfing what should be benign sites. Even when everything is cleared off the computer I am getting more and more redirects to the point where I can't even use the internet. I have added the address of every site to my antispam sites on Advast, but the links keep changing. Now I am having issues where I can't log onto Yahoo Messenger for some reason. My computer is running at a high temp and my available memory plumeted with no signifigant software being installe... Read more

Hey guys, this is my first post here. I hope some of the malware removal Gods on this forum can help me out.

Disclaimer: please forgive me if any of the description below is complete BS. I'm have some experience with removing malware and PUP's in the past but none that have resisted to this extent.

Problem:
Started Sunday, May 31st, 2015. My laptop was working fine all day, I put it in sleep mode and went home. When I came home the problems started. I can best describe it as: the computer takes ages to start up and load the windows explorer. When that finally happens. Everything is very slow. Programs like Word and Google Chrome do not open.

My Activity beforehand:
Before this date I did little out of the ordinary except for download Icecream Ebook Reader for reading .epub files.
It seemed legit and worked fine.

Security:
Before this problem I had no anti-virus. My Northon Internet Security had run out a few days ago. I was planning on switching to Kaspersky at the end of the month. I do have Malware Bytes PRO installed and activated. Also CCcleaner.

Why I think it's malware:
PC works pretty well in safe mode, almost none of the issues described above.
Something seems to be actively trying to prevent me from downloading any programs, even in Safe Mode.
It has blocked correct installation of antivirus programs (tried installing Panda Free Antivirus and afterwards Bitfender Free Antivirus).

Hi S-Works,
Welcome to BleepingComputer. My name is dbrisendine and I'll be helping you with this problem. Before I get into the removal of malware / correction of your problem, I need you to be aware of the following:
Please read all of my response through at least once before attempting to follow the procedures described.I would recommend printing them out, if you can, as you can check off each step as you complete it. Also, as some of the cleaning may be done in Safe Mode and there will be no internet connection then, you will find that having the steps printed for reference speeds the cleaning process along. If there's anything you don't understand or isn't totally clear to you, please come back to me for clarification before you start those steps.
All of the assistants and staff at BleepingComputer are here on a volunteer basis; please respect our time given to the cause of helping others. If you are going to be away for more than 4 days, please let me know here. (I will do the same for you.) We do realize that 'life happens' and situations arise unexpectedly; we just ask that you keep us up to date.
Malware removal is a complex, multiple step process; please stay with me on this thread (don't start another thread) until I declare that your logs are clean and you are good to go. The absence of apparent issues does not mean your system is clean; I will tell you when everything looks good for you to go and help you remove the tools we have used.

Hi there,

I have been having problems with my desktop for the past 4-5 months, have tried so much and looked on almost
every thread relating to lag and stuttering without finding a solution.

I have had the PC for nearly 3 years, built myself.

Specs:
CPU: Intel i7 7700k ( swaped to a celeron G3930)
GPU: Geoforce 1070 (taken out for testing)
Motherboard: MSI z270 pro carbon (swaped to an ASUS prime z270-P for testing)
Power supply: EVGA Supernova 850 W Gold G2
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz (tried individually)
Storage: Samsung 960 EVO M.2 (boot drive) and a Seagate BarraCuda

The problem occurs every 5-10 minutes with normal use, but every 20-30 seconds while playing games. This becomes more often for both the longer the computer is turned on for.

Things I have tried software wise:
-Clean install of windows 10
-Update/reinstall drivers for every component
-Change resolution and refresh rate of the monitor
-Disable prefetch and superfetch

There are no errors in event manager leading me to assume this problem is due to hardware. I have tried unplugging my GPU
and using my CPU's onboard graphics, the problem still occurs.

Screen recording of what the freezing looks like:

View: https://youtu.be/Q28k25lj8QQ

This problem 100% is not related to:
CPU
GPU
Motherboard
Loose cables
RAM

I have checked the PSU readings in the BIOS, there are no anomalous readings, everything looks very stable.
I have tested both my Storage devices and they show no e... Read more

A:Freezing and stuttering with normal use

You post that the problem is 100% not ram however I do not see where you tested the ram and what you used to test? Unless you use something like memtest and or prime95 [ram test] for a minimum of 1hr, then you really do not know if the problem is ram or not.

I have checked the PSU readings in the BIOS, there are no anomalous readingsClick to expand...

While this has some validity, it does not test under a load [which is where a pw supply would most likely have problems]
If you want to test a pw supply, you use the motherboard mfg's monitoring software while running prime95, OCCT, or IBT [intel burn test] If by chance your board mfg does not have monitoring software [which I know asus has] then you can use the intel extreme tuning utility. The intel utility will both monitor and do a stress test.

Ok, so this isn't your everyday freezing/lag issue. I can game run programs no Problem. This issue I'm experiencing is When I go to type something, weather a Document or just in the browser bar, I can start typing, then I it won't type, but then all of a sudden the stuff I was typing, appears. It's almost as if the hard drive stopped spinning for a split second. The funny thing is I am running a Samsung Evo 1TB SSD drive and not a roundy....The roundy one, just stores my Data and Docs. My SSD has everything else, programs/Games.

I know you can't do a Chkdsk on an SSD...but wondering if anyone else has a similar issue with an SSD.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Also, occasionally when I open it after it was in sleep, it would show me a black screen but I would be able to hear the fans working. What would I need to do to fix either of these issues?

Hi there!
I recently got this Lenovo Ideapad Y560 about two months ago and at first, it would freeze every once in a while so it didn't bother me much. Nowadays, however, it likes to freeze pretty frequently (at least once a day) which is kind of getting on my nerves. I don't think I've been infected with malware, etc. but I'm not really sure. I was wondering if there was some bigger, overlooked problem with my laptop that could be resolved.

Thanks so much in advance.

My laptop freezes for about 30 seconds anything between every 10 minutes to every hour or so. Is this when Vista is making its restore points? If so, how can I adjust the frequency of automatic restore point creation without turning off System Restore?

By freezing I mean that my hard drive activity light is constantly on and no programs respond to user interaction.

A:Constant freezing

There could be many things thats are related to this factor such as having Vista and a minuscule amount of RAM, the OS itself, the computer and other things. My assumtion is that you have a bad processor and low RAM and you have vista running. I had a labtop like this and it ended up being that i had like the minimum requirements for Vista. This is just a winged answer for you but hope you get an idea XD.

Hey everybody, I know I'm not the only one with this problem but I've looked everywhere for a fix with no luck at all. I'm having a problem with Windows 7 constantly freezing on me for no reason at all. I must be missing something very important, because I'm extremelly confused as to why this is even happening.

Here's the run down of my scenario:

Windows 7 x64 Build 7000
Nvidia 8600M GT 512
Laptop Model- MSI GX700
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5 T9300
4G DDR2 RAM
Video Driver Version 7.15.0011.6761

My biggest concern is WoW, the game fully loads before completely locking up, forcing me to restart. I think it might have something to do with my video drivers.

I've reformatted a few times to try and fix my problem, and currently I have not manually installed any drivers, I have gone by everything windows update has given me. I tried the repair installation fix but that did not help as well. Is there anybody that can walk me through this?

I'm really sorry if this is in the wrong place or anything but I've got no where else to go or turn. D=

Hi Gebz and Welcome to our Forum!

There is the 179.48 driver for your card at Nvidia so you're quite a bit behind, I would start there of course and also check for any other updated drivers at the MSI site.
Not all drivers are available thru Update. It's expensive to get the MS certification andf many companies still avoid that so stay up to date at the maker's site instead.

Please help me!! I haven't had to come here in a long time-- my cheap junky computer had actually been running great for the past two years until this month. A few weeks ago I started suffering from freezes where the only option was to restart the computer. It was happening once or twice a day at first, but now it's happening constantly- sometimes just a few minutes apart, other times I can play on the computer for an hour or more before it does it again. I have no idea what could be causing it. I have run xoftspy and dumped what it found (nothing that looked too scary) I have scanned with Norton. I have defragmented and disk clean-upped and system restored back to a month ago. I've cleared cookies and history. What else??

Norton
Realplayer,
Xoftspy
Firefox
Flashplayer

And I loaded the 'Tidy Start Menu' program that organizes your menu. Other than that there were a couple real estate programs I tried to install, but they didn't work anyway so were uninstalled the same day or so. Recently I have been suffering constant freezes.  As far as I can tell it started after a difficult driver installation for my graphics card.  I received a single BSOD naming one of the drivers as the issue, then after that I started with these freezes.

They happen randomly but I have found that using the online or computer based versions of Dell's SupportAssist triggers them as well.  Often during the freezes I get a message "Device "Nvidia GeForce GTX 680m" Cannot be ejected or removed" or something like that as I cannot remember the exact wording but this does not always show up though I suspect that is because it freezes before it can reach the screen.

I tried contacting nVidia through their live chat support but nothing they asked me to try worked to solve the problem. I do not think it is a hardware fault, but cannot figure out the problem.  Every hardware test I have run has come back full pass, including the boot diagnostics that came with the system and Windows Memory Test.

My system specs are:
 OS - Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit
This is the original install from when I received the computer.
The OS came pre-installed, so I suppose it is an OEM version.
I bought the computer February 2013

Hey all..

as of a couple of weeks ago my computer frequently decides to just freeze for three seconds. It can happy from anywhere between once every ten minutes, to three or four times a minute.

I recently reformatted and the problem wasn't solved. I just dedicated 760mb of a flash drive to ReadyBoost (it was a small, small usb >.<) and to my surprise, it actually made a bit of a difference.

The freezing was still apparent though, and gets disruptive when I game.

I know it's not a problem of the game being too demanding for my computer, as it's not a high-specs game and I was always playing it before a couple weeks ago with no problem.

My specs:

Intel T6600 dual core 2.2ghz
4gb DDR3 ram
512mb GeForce 210m (dx11)

Does anyone know of any possible solutions? This has been a serious annoyance over the past few weeks and I could seriously do without it D:

Thanks in advance.

Is your processor getting overheated in any way? I used to have a pentium T2060 and whenever it gets overheated, the fan starts, and then somehow my system lags for quite a while.

If not, then do the usualcheck drivers (chipset driver as well)
check services and their cpu usage
check your antivirus/antimalware
check your system files (cmd as admin, sfc /scannow)
check your reliability monitor (start menu, type in reliability history)
Cheers~!

There are many reasons why a system freezes...insufficient RAM is one of those.

To determine just where the problem lies, let's gather some data.  Please follow the directions listed below.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792 , taking care to post the link.  Do not copy/paste data from the report.

Provide the following information about your hardware so we can check compatibility:Download and install CPU-Z and Upload screenshots of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs. In the SPD tab, upload an image of each slot. To upload all screenshots, it would be best to:generate the images using the Snipping Tool,
go to where the images are saved,
right click in a blank area within the folder where the images are saved,
create a new folder,
name the folder CPUZ,
select all the images,
place the pointer over an image,
press and hold down the left mouse button and drag the image (all images should move with it),
drop the images into the CPUZ directory you created,
create a compressed (zipped) folder of CPUZ
upload the .zip file to the forums.

Hello,

I'm currently experiencing a very frustrating problem and I can't figure out what is causing it. It seems that a certain period of time after a reboot, whenever I try to open a new program or open a new window or such (like opening a help window) in an already open program, it freezes up. Now, sometimes I'll reboot and find my computer works fine and I don't get any freezing, but this is rare, and it always comes back after I reboot. I sort of shrugged off the problem for several months, resorting to leaving my computer on for weeks at a time when I found it wasn't freezing on me, but I'm sick of it! I'm on a P4 2.4 gHz PC with 512 MB RAM and I am including a HijackThis log, maybe that will provide some clues.

Ok I'm kind of at a wall with my problem. Basically my computer will freeze at random intervals. By freeze I mean stop responding and whatever was on the screen at the time will stay there. I have yet to get a blue screen of death or any other error messages. I build the system myself and here are the specs:

Processor: Intel Core i7-920
Motherboard: Intel Extreme Series DX58SO
RAM: 2 sticks of Corsiar XMS3 DDR3 2048MB
Video Card: PNY GeForce 280 GTX 1GB DDR3
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Caviar

Anyway the machine has worked fine for months. Then there has been a couple of months where we stopped using. After starting it back up and updating it, it ran fine for a week or so then started randomly freezing. I have reinstalled the operating system (Windows XP) and it ran without problems for a day then started freezing again the next day. I have run memtest for the memory and it never found any problems. Unfortunately I don't have spare parts to swap out and test every piece. I have also ran monitors to check for heat and the GPU never reached higher than 70 and the CPU never got near that.

Freezing occurances:
During gameplay
While moving around files
Booting (happened once)
while sitting idle

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

SkullRobot one method would be to open Event Viewer and search in Applications and Systems logs for any errors that occur during these freezes. Double click on error to get an idea what program(s) are in conflict that is causing the freeze. To get to Event Viewer go to Start>Run, type eventvwr.msc.

You could also do some basic maintenance

1. Delete all Temp Files (c:\windows\temp\*.tmp, or on XP C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp)

2 . Delete Temporary Internet Files (c:\windows\temporary internet files\*.*, or on XP C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files)

3. Update and run your malware/spyware utilities (e.g. Ad-aware, Spybot S & D, SpyWareBlaster)

I've been using windows 7 ultimate for about a month and a half now and all was going fine up until a while ago.

It started that it wouldn't boot up so I had to do a startup repair, this same thing happened to me a few days ago on boxing day. This time i just did a "boot from last known good startup" and it seemed to work ok.

Then the computer started to randomly freeze if I would open some media for example, play music, watch videos or even watch a video on YouTube. It would just freeze at random points.

Then it started getting worse, it would freeze even when the computer is doing nothing and I am away from it. It started doing this once or twice per day and I couldn't find the problem.

The other day was the worst part of it as it froze six times in one day, I found some other people having freezing issues on google, they were told to look at the event viewer but when I try this, i get told it's not running. The fix to this was to take ownership of two folders, the logs folder inside the windows folder and the logfiles folder in the system32 folder which I did and it worked.

So earlier tonight, it froze again and I thought at least I can see why now but nope, as soon as I boot back into windows, the event viewer gets the same old error come back.

"Event log service is unavailable, verify that the service is running."

So I can't even see why this is happening, I tried a repair install which is just upgrading windows but ironically it froze at 6%...... Read more

A:Constant freezing.

You may wind up doing an install, but many things to try first.

You have a lot of problems so do this 3 times

From an administrtor account type cmd in search

In cmd type sfc /scannow.

If that does not work come back and I or someone else will help

If you do not want to try to correct the actual problem. You can try a system restore from a time before it started. You will not lose any personal information, such as doucments.

Also try a memory diagnosis. Just type that in search

My system has both Windows XP and Windows 7 on it, no matter which I am on I experience the same issue.
My system recently would just randomly freeze, and it is getting very annoying. I would walk away for 5 minutes or still be here on it and it would freeze so I would have to do a force shutdown.
It happens both on my Windows 7 and Windows XP partions, so I assume the issue is hardware related.
Please.

Well basically I have this minor issue that irritated me for every time I used my computer. Almost every time, Windows 7 will freeze up for no reason and then resume its operation. The freeze up lasted only 4 seconds. This phenomena also occurred in the games.

The frequency of this phenomena is approximately 1.5 hours interval between each freeze up.

I do not know what cause the problem so can someone help me?

Please use the Windows Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and a program called HWMonitor to monitor:

Hi and welcome

Can y ou type event viewer in search? go to the windows logs>applications tab. Look for errors (they have red in left column) that contain app hang, app crash, or anything relating to the problem. When you find them (there will be many) could you note the event ID and source codes and relay them to us.

Thanks and let us know if you need help with any of this

You have 4 GB of RAM and you're not running 64 bit?

Also, if you can, load Safe Mode and go to Start, Run, then type: "services.msc" without the quotes. Check to see if ReadyBoost is enabled and running and set to Automatic. If it is running, try disabling it then restarting.

So a few weeks ago i noticed that my computer would lock up occasionaly, couldnt use keyboard, couldnt use mouse it would just stay frozen. I would have to manually press the power button on the tower to get out of the lock. It would reload normally and things would be fine, this would happen maybe once a week. Well it started becoming more frequent and i thought my best course of action would be to just whipe my computer clean and use the operating system disc to return the computer to its manufactured state and start all over again. Well loaded all my programs back onto the computer updated everything under the sun and got my computer back to where it was before the restart. Well it seemed to work, however whenever i jump onto WorldofWarcraft it still tends to lock up after a few minutes of play. Any ideas as to why? I have been playing WoW on this computer for about 2-3years now so i know its not a compatibility issue. I'm doing a disk defragmentation on both my C and D drives..not sure if thats gonna help or is the problem.

Overheating? That would be my guess.

The system works harder when gaming than probably any other time.

I just took a look at the data you supplied. I don't know if 1GB of RAM is sufficient to play very many games (not a gamer).

Actually can be software and/or hardware

I think it may be better to start with software
Remove all temp files in IE
Start Run %Temp% and remove all that you can in there
Update your antivirus and do a scan (also a spyware scan too)
Go to My Computer - right click on C - Tools - Check Now - tick top box - Start - OK - restart (this will perform a checkdisk at next resstart (just wait for it to finiish)
Defrag
Check for system freeze again

For about a week now, my computer has been very slow on start up in normal mode and will freeze constantly during use, the only remedy being to just leave the computer alone for a half hour before it unfreezes. I've updated and performed full scans using SUPERAntiSpyware along with Malewarebytes Anti-Malware several times (and ten minutes ago) without any dangerous files being detected.

I have windows 7 and I'm currently running in safe mode with networking, though it appears that I cannot install/uninstall programs?

Any help is much appreciated, if this is malware I would like to quickly fix it before my computer becomes unusable.

HelloThis infection changes settings on your computer so that when you launch an executable, a file ending with .exe, it will instead launch the infection rather than the desired program. To fix this we must first download a Registry file that will fix these changes. From a clean computer, please download the following file and save it to a removable media such as a CD/DVD, external Drive, or USB flash drive.FixNCR.reginsert the removable device into the infected computer and open the folder the drive letter associated with it. You should now see the FixNCR.reg file that you had downloaded onto it. Im new here so im sorry if this isn?t the correct place to post this.

So lately this is what?s been happening, everytime i boot in normal mode i wait for the progams and things to load up but everything seems so slow and after some minutes after i click on something to do anything the pc simply freezes, no Blue screen of death. It just freezes and i can?t control the cursor anymore,

I?ve tried waiting for like 30 minutes but it just stays there forever, only solution is to switch off the laptop on the button.

Im writing this in safe mode with networking and that?s how i have been able to use my laptop lately(in safe mode) because like i said before, it just won?t work right on normal mode.

I runned sfc/scannow and it said that no violations were detected, but for some reason i can?t open the CBS.log file to show to you, i typed findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt in the cmd but it won?t open the file, im not sure if im doing it the right way.

I would like you too tell me what information you need because im new here and im not sure, i have my system specs info in my profile if you need.

Thank?s in advance.

Hey, I recived my laptop a little over a week ago, and ever since I've been using it, the applications/laptop will freeze for a period of time.  Sometimes recoveing and moveing on, other times I have no choice but to force shut down the laptop. There are times when it will freeze, and only 1 app is frozen, but the sound is running, or I can do other things while it works itself out.  When this happens, sometimes I can open task manager, othertimes, nothing happend.  Then even if I manage to open the task manager, I can NOT shut the frozen aplication down.  Either the freezing workse itself out, and then it closes down like normal/should when telling it to close this way, or the computer eventually locks up compleetly. I did remove Macafee, and after reading some, used the total removal program from their site.  However, this has not fixed my issue.  My game still froze, forcing me to restart, and after restarting my web browser still froze for about a minute while trying to get here to make this post.  What if anything can I do to find out what is causing this problem?  I have tried updating my drivers from Lenovo, this hasn't helped.  I thought about using the diagnosics tool from Lenovo, but those do not seem to usable by the IdeaPad series.

Hi Jinotad,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to inform you that the computer is not working as expected and freezing during normal operations, issue is same even after removing the McAfee Antivirus from the Y510P.

Performing OSRI (Operating System Re-Install) should resolve the issue, OSRI can be performed by clicking on NOVO button refer page no. 16 in the User Guide to perform OKR (One Key Recovery).

NOTE: Please backup the data before performing OKR as the computer will be re-installed to its factory settings.

Hope this helps!!!

Do post us back if the issue still persists.

Best Regards

When the computer crashes, there are no artifacts or any video distortion. The screen simply stays on the same frame that it was on when it crashed. The sound loops for about 10 seconds and then stops. The only way to fix it is to hold down the power button until it's off.

I have run memtest86, but the ram is perfectly fine according to the tests.

I have removed the X-Fi card, but the freezing still persisted.

The video card was tested in another computer and works 100 percent.

I have reinstalled windows XP twice; still crashes.

If I am not mistaken, it is either a faulty MOBO or PSU. I have no problem with buying a new one of these.

Hi,
I should add that I ran Malwarebytes and esnet online and only esnet found 4 things nothing else found.
Its really odd as when I start up it seems to take ages for anything to happen.....the desktop show, I can move mouse but cant open or click on anything.
Then I restart and I get the blue screen telling me there is a problem.
Is it my start up items?
Virus?
Hardware?
Overheating?

I am going bonkers!
