Need help with SD card issue

Q: Need help with SD card issue

So. I had a 64gb micro SD with music in for my mp3. Acquired some more music on a usb from my brother (legitimately bought) and though hey! I'll sort all my music out to folders and delete duplicates. You know how it gets. So after this. Thought I'd get a 256gb micro SD and put all my music on this (we're talking 59gb). So started the transfer. Said 10 hours. Yh yh fine. Then at the end. All the folders were there. But we're empty. So formatted it. Moved the folders bit by bit alphabetically. At the end as i safely eject it. It says corrupted and the same folders there with no content. So thought Instead of transferring from my laptop to my micro SD. I'll bypass the laptop and go from my external HDD to the micro SD. Transferred my music to the HDD then over the the micro SD. No problem first stage. And a faster transfer to the micro SD. And yet again when i eject it and insert into my mp3. Only 800 odd songs there instead of 12000 and the folders are again present but empty. Please help. I've wasted hours of my life on this!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The computer's a year old, running XP, and my boyfriend and I have no idea what's wrong with it (it's his). I'd put in hardware support but I don't know which piece of hardware may be corrupted, exploding as we speak, or what.

It began last night. He's done this before -- he has two monitors, one meant for a TV (I believe) and another old computer screen. Normally it runs on the TV one because it's bigger. He switched to the older one to show me how he can adjust the settings so that it's all vertical. That was great and dandy and we didn't expect any issues. He's done it before and it really isn't doing much to the computer.

Later, after midnight, he goes to switch everything back to normal. First, the computer acts like the monitor is there but that it can't do anything -- it tries to go into sleep mode or something. Then I suggest he unplug, shut down, plug things back in normally, and power back up. This appears to work.

I was a bit happy then, until we got to the XP loading screen. It's going... and then after, it flashes, then goes black. Nothing comes up, nothing does anything.

And so the three hour saga of last night begins. We restart, we spam F8, we get into safe mode, he disables Nvidia but can't open the application. Nor does his mouse function in safe mode (I know some don't, but it really doesn't help the situation). I've used my laptop to bring up shortcut keys and we're functioning through everything that way. He restarts after disabling Nvidia, an... Read more

Hi guys i've got a problem with my toshiba qosmio g20. I've had it running sweet on xp and i recently upgraded it to vista ultimate lite. It for some reason won't read my graphics card geforce 6600. it says the best driver is already installed for you called standard graphics adapter but thats wrong so i can't play games so im gonna put it back to xp but to do that is a mission. this laptop has raid harddrives so I need to install a driver. so i press f8 or whatever it is(can't remember) to enter the menu thing (this is at the blue screen before you enter the partition menu) it comes up with something like "please enter you manufactuers disk into the A:" but i don't have a floppydrive built in to be able. i've tryed usb floppydrivebut it doesn't read as A: so can use on of them. I've heard about useing nlite to put the drivers in a cd with the rebootstuff but i can't getit to read the drivers too. it was easy enough going to vista as you could insert a flash drive with drivers on it.

Please help me fix this or ill have to take it into a shop and pay them.

Hello forum,
So I just updated my Nvidea graphics card, and for some reason after restarting my laptop, in order to install these files to the system, the "System Thread Exception Not Handled" Blue screen error flashed on my screen, and later redirected me to an automatic repair screen, which attempted to fix this issue.
I ended up restarting the laptop on safe mode, uninstall my Nvidea graphics card and completely reinstall it from scratch.
But for some reason it keeps giving me the same error each time I restart my laptop.
After some research online, apparently there's an issue with Avast and Nvidea?
You will find attached the SF Diagnostic Tool grab all option files needed to view the issue at hand.
Any help would greatly be helpful.
Many are saying that I've not been installing the corrent drivers, but that's not possible, as it's directly from the MSI website (GT70 0NE) linked to the official Nvidea website, saying that the driver includes my graphics card (680M).
While other people are saying that maybe Avast is causing some issue towards the graphics card?
I have the Avast 2014 Professional Antivirus.
Laptop Specs:
Windows 8.1
MSI Dragon Edition 2, GT70 0NE, Intel Core i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40 GHz 64 bit
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Any help would greatly be appreciated, I'm currently running my laptop without the nVidea Graphics Card Drivers, and seems to be fine so far.

I just installed Windows 8 on my PC and am having a quirky issue on the desktop. Whenever I try to right click on the desktop, the screen flashes as if it is resetting itself, and then it goes back to the desktop photo. The menu never pops up. If I open a program or a folder, the right click menu shows up just fine. Is it disabled? Is there a fix?

Well I just found this forum today, so I decided to ask this question.

About a year ago, I had to system restore, because my computer just kept FSODing on me. When I went through the system restore process with Dell, at the end of the process I got an error. I don't quite remember what it was, as it was so long ago.

Ever since then, my computer has been completely without sound. I have tried everything from installing/reinstalling/uninstalling drivers, to the most simplistic, such as checking if my speakers work, or are connected.

So far, nothing has brought me any closer to figuring out what this problem could be. I am pretty sure that somehow, my sound card (its an integrated one) has just fried or something, but I really dont know.

So... is my sound card busted? Or are my drivers just not working for some reason?

Thanks for your help in advance.

A:Sound Card issue, or driver issue?

System restore . . .

System restore or system recovery? Did wipe the old operating system out and reinstall everything from scratch (system recovery) or did you use Windows' system restore to backdate the configuration. (Frankly, I think the choice these of terms by the industry are very confusing.)

Assuming system recovery and assuming the sound worked before and quit after system recovery, I'm for a misconfiguration. But, the simpler fix might be a cheap add-in sound card.

ok i just recently have been having problems with any thing graphics related. Ok first off, the other day i was playing need for speed : hot pursuit 2 and it all of a sudden froze, the music was still goin, but then that stoped, and then nothing was doing ne thing, but all of a sudden it started going again, and i kept playing. So that happened a few times and it pissed me off so i stoped playing. So now today i went to play wartcraft III - Throne of darkness and on the main screen as i was selecting an option it just froze up like need for speed did. Now i thought this was really bad and i started to get angry. So i quit and then restarted, but that didn't fix any thing it just froze a little while into the game.

So now i decided to re install war3 and the expansion but nope still nothing. Then i tried using differnet drivers fo my vid card and still no. So I started to try out other games, such as cs and still that game froze up once i was actually playin in the game. Then i quit, did restore thing to an earlier point and still same thing happened.

Now tonight after all my struggles i reinstalled windows, totally new(format and everything). With no luck it still froze up

Now i have been talking to other ppl and they say this has to be a graphics card problem, now i have a geforce TI 4200 and have enjoyed it performance, untill now. IT is only one year old so it shouldn't be dying of age yet.

Is this a hardware issue you think and the card is just dying of old... Read more

Can't get to the internet. I think my internal onboard one is bad do I bought another one. These are the things I have tried. I tried switching out the cable for a new one, I tried putting the cable from my computer from my PC to the modem directly and no go. I reset both my modem and router waiting minute or 2 in between. I tried a new card. I had linksys on the phone trying multiple things like disabling my NIC card, doing a repair, install drivers from their site over internet. I tried pinging my router to no avail.

I am at a loss. That is why I am wondering if I put in my XP cd and try and do a system restore? I don't know if that comes set up to run by default or is that something I manually would of had to of done because I didn't. If so, would re-installing the OS do the trick? I just did an image copy of my OS this past sunday with Acronis true image 2009. Should I try that? what do you think?

I have a computer with ASUS A7V333 MB. The monitor went dead one day and found that I'd neglected to keep the dust cleaned out and found the vid card fan in pretty bad condition. I cleaned everything out inside, then rebooted, but the monitor was not working again, getting "no Signal" on the screen or such. I looked at the vid card fan and noticed it was not moving, so used my finger to nudge it and it started up and the monitor worked. Had to do this every day upon starting up. I found a tech article on how to take apart the fan to clean it and relube the shaft, but was unable to do this. I shopped around for a reasonably cheap card and got a GeForce 6200 LE 512mb AGP 8x card. When I put it in, nothing happened. I've checked the monitor and its plug/pins, as it works in my other computer. I read some other articles about changing something related to the vid card in bios, but I can't get to the screen to do that.

I'm wondering if there are any other ideas of what might be the problem without taking it into the shop, as I am unemployed and very tight on money. I've got sensitive data and projects on my computer that I have not backed up and am not wanting to take into the tech shop. My fault for not backing up the last month's work. Hello- just got a new Radeon 3870. When I installed, I just downloaded the latest ATI drivers instead of using the bundled CDs, as they are usually out of date. Everything works fine, except in my device manager I get an unknown PCI device that I can only assume is the new card. I guess it isn't too big a deal, but I would like to make windows recognize the drivers if possible. Thanks!

Oh and it also claims to have an unknown multimedia controller, but my sound works fine (audigy 4). Maybe its the onboard sound controller?

A:New ATI card issue

Multimedia controllers are usually sound or TV adapters or similar.
Check the display adapters in device manager to see if it is listed.
It may be that the secondary display on the card doesn't have the driver
installed, but I would guess it is something else.
Right click on the uknown device and click properties.
Click the driver tab and click update driver.
Let windows search for a driver.
If it's the video card,it should find it.

Are you connecting the monitor to the card? In order for the card to work the monitor must be connected to a port on the card.

If not the reason for the black screen is the integrated graphics is disabled when installing a dedicated graphics card.

I have also tried changing the HZ settings on the card that did not seem to do anything. I also have tried another sound card and it still seems to do it. Audio is a low priority. So, for example, if you are playing a file that is maxing the cpu, audio would be one of the first things to indicate the PC can't process fast enough. Does it happen all of the time, or with specific content (or file)?

I'm really confussed about this issue, but I'll explain whats happened and if anyone has any tips please pass them on.

I have a machine by Tiny.com, running win 98se, 500mhz celeron, intel on baord graphics and audio.

I purchased a prophet 3d 4000xt 64mb pci graphics card and followed installation procedure and install card success fully and have been using it with no problems.

3 weeks ago I got given a 700mhz P3 prosessor and replaced it with my tied celeron, and the machine works a dream (considering it's spec!!) again no issues.

I then decided to upgrade my OS to Win XP (Pro). I booted Win98 and started to upgrade, everything started fine until the computer had to rest.

After searching for the MBR the cumputer would 'Hang' on a black screen with a white flashing cusor in the top left corner.

It took me ages to figure out that it was my graphics card that was the problem and after uninstalling it the system booted with no probs and completed the upgrade.

So no I start the install process of card and the same black screen on start up appears.

I've downloaded up to date drivers for XP from Hurcules website but nothing seems to be working.

First post here - j/s.

Anyway, I'll explain this quick.

I bought a HD 5670 a week ago, it has been giving me some problems with multicoloured lines on screen. I've done the elimination process and it's defo the card. The onboard chip works fine. The lines only appears sometimes though and usually only when I turn it on in the mornings.

Here's a screenie of the issue:

Returned the card to the store as they had to take my word for it as faulty (their test machine was bust).

Got my money back and am going to use it to buy a better card - HD 6850.

The worry is that, what if that card also creates problems? Then it'd clearly be the motherboard's fault, huh? What then? Only option I see is to get a refund for the PC as well. (It's about 2 weeks old.)

Hi, apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forum.

I was wondering if anybody knowledgeable could help me: I've had this issue on my home computer for some time, I actually gave up on it at one point and bought myself a laptop. But I've just started a new business and I'm in need of a working computer for the office.

I'll attach some pics. It started doing this some time ago, sometimes it totally crashes and sometimes it doesn't.

A friend reckons it may be the graphics card and If i install a new one it might solve my issues. But i was looking to get some advice before i fork out the money on a new one as it wouldn't be the first time he's been wrong (bless him)

Any advice on what you think may be causing the problem in the pics would be greatly appreciated. IIRC back at the start it said there was an issue with the drivers which i tried to resolve with no luck/

Thanks in advance,

What is the make and model# of your computer/motherboard/video card?
Do you plug the monitor into a dedicated video card? or do you plug it into the onboard VGA?
Go to the manufactures support/download drivers site and type in your make and model # and download the Video driver for your card.
If that doesn't help, and you have onboard VGA, you can remove the Video card and plug into your onboard VGA slot. If that works and you need more intensive graphics, you then can buy another video card, or you can just use the onboard VGA

I'm hoping someone can help with some suggestions.

I have a Core2Duo 2.2GHz PC with 8Gb RAM running Win7Pro 64-bit. Motherboard is an MSI MS-7345. Nothing special, I know, but it is a work PC only!

Recently I bought a new video card as the old one was causing some minor issues. I bought a Gigabyte GT520 (nVidia) PCIe card (yes I know, again, nothing special) but after I installed it, my PC would regularly freeze and then come back with a message that the display driver failed and had recovered. Other times it would just freeze and then eventually start responding again. Funny thing was, that you could still move the mouse and you could use Ctrl-Alt-Del to try to open Task Manager, but nothing would happen when you did. Tried the latest driver, tried earlier driver versions (based on what I read on forums) but nothing helped. At the suggestion of a forum, I replaced the PSU with a 600w unit. This made no difference either.

Just last week I bought a new video card - this time an Asus HD 5450 (ATI) card. Same problems still occuring, although slightly less frequently than before.

So now I'm guessing it's either a motherboard or CPU issue. Before I replace either, is there any diagnostics (or inbuilt Windows tools) that might be able to tell me which it is?? I can buy a replacement motherboard and/or CPU, but if I'm going to end up having to buy both (because I'm guessing), I'd rather just buy the latest spec CPU and a motherboard to suit.

Might not be the video drivers. You may need to update the AGP controller drivers for your HP computer. They are typically GART drivers.

Surprise surprise, HP doesn't offer any updated drivers on their site (that I could find...) They do tell us that it is a Via Pro chipset, so we can probably just use the VIA 4 in 1 drivers; however, other sites claim that it has an ASUS P2B-VT with an Intel BX440 chipset.

Please verify which chipset is on your motherboard. Then I can suggest updating the chipset drivers and possibly the BIOS on the board.

When I unplug the camera from the computer, the pictures are not on the SD card. Any help to solve this? I do not have a card reader. I am using Win2K.

I am new to upgrading my PC, but I have some experienced friends and I have stumped them all with my issue. I installed a new MSI Twin Frozr III R7850 graphics card in my HP Pavillion Desktop, I have a PCIe x16 2.0 and the card uses 3.0, however from research that should not be my problem. I installed the card and two startups in a row I got 8 1 second beeps. On the third startup however I got nothing, it just started up, no picture and obviously not loading any programing, but no beeping. I have tried the HDMI and DVI ports that the graphics card uses and I still have nothing. My computer, however, runs perfectly fine when I do not have this new graphics card powered. Am I doing something wrong, or is my card just dead?

A:Graphics Card Issue

Well ill go through a few basic things:

First did you hook up both 6 pin connectors?

Second what video card was installed previously, if it was NVidia, did you remove the previous drivers.

Third, have you tried different slots on the motherboard for testing, also does the motherboard have onboard video.

Try these solutions and lets go from there.

Here is my problem: I don't know how long ago this happened (desktop computer used mostly by my wife), but my sound quit working. In Device Manager there are no conflicts (red or yellow) and my sound card (Creative SB Audigy) is listed. When I go to Sound and Audio Devices Properties in Control Panel it says "No Audio Devices". Under the Hardware tab my sound card is listed with good drivers, but my sound card is not listed as a choice under audio or voice playback.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sound card and it's drivers and it worked until I re-booted and then it all quit working again. Can someone help?

hi i am using a toshiba satellite L505 laptop. i recently did a full system recovery because the operating system kept freezing after startup. fixed that problem, but now there is a red "X" near the speaker in the tray. in the device manager there is an exclamation point on the high def audio controller, but under properties the device claims to be working fine and driver up to date... i have no sound from my laptop, can anyone help cast some light on this?

A:Sound Card Issue??

If you go to the Toshiba website you can download the device driver for your specific sound card, it might be using a generic/wrong driver and not working correctly.

That would be my first thing i would do atleast.

Hi guys,

Basically i bought a new computer, and decided to update the graphics card, i purchased a 2gb 640gtx (if im remembering right) and it didnt seem to like my computer, at this point i had a 280w power supply. Basically the screen would continuously flicker even with the newest drivers. So i took it back stating it was faulty although i have a feeling it may have been my psu causing the issues as 280w is pretty low. I changed it for a 1gb 550gtx ti card and purchased a 400w power supply as that was what it recommended. I installed the new one and everything seems to be peachy. However i have found in windows that whenever im playing media, and this is any media from music to videos my screen will turn off for split second then back on. As its carried through hdmi it takes the sound too. When i play games they are perfect with high resolution and the screen doesnt blink unless it goes to video cuts screen not in game cut screen. So im completely lost as i cant find any previous threads stating a similar problem. Any help?

Also I used microsoft online checker and it says my card doesnt support aero but i clearly have the transparent effects which doesnt make sense. Am i having a driver conflict or something?

A:1GB 550gtx ti card issue?

Well Your Psu still isn't enough the minimum is 400w?

you should atleast be using a 550w PSU

you have to figure in load and potential Overclocking

any highend card especially a 6 series gtx is gonna need atleast 550 to 600w to work properly underload and Pc power consumption remember the video card isnt the only thing in that case that needs power you need to up it that is probally why your getting this

your maxing out the PSU

I would think a 5 series would need atleast 500w to run corretly with the unit

I am having a very bizarre problem. I have Windows XP Pro and have a 12 in 1 card reader installed in a 3.5" drive bay. Everything has worked great for years. Suddenly a couple weeks ago I had a virus which erased all of my startup items in msconfig. To make a long story short I removed the virus which McAfee didn't detect. I purchased Kaspersky and fixed it. I did a repair install of Windows XP Pro. I reinstalled everything which usually loads at startup. The computer works perfectly except for my card reader. When you used to open My Computer there would be about 5 or 6 icons for the card reader listed each with a drive leter. These are no longer there. I went into disk management and it won't let me assign a drive letter to any of the drives. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software that came with it. When Windows reboots it shows it as USB Mass Storage and detects the drive. It list it in the Safely Remove Hardware in System Tray which I don't remember it ever doing. When I put a card into the card reader it does nothing at all. I also replaced the volsnap.sys and usbstor.sys. No matter what I do no icons for the card reader are showing in My Computer. The only thing I can think of is a registry issue, possibly? Anyone have any suggestions? Please let me know, Thanks!

I recently bought a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 PCI Soundcard. I bought it as an OEM so had no instructions come with it.

I am running Windows XP and after I installed the sound card and added the drivers I could hear no sound from my speakers (5.1 set-up). I have tried re-installing the drivers and updating the drivers which has not worked. I also removed the soundcard via device manager so that upon reboot it would be detected and re-install it, which also did not work.

Another thing I have also noticed, which I think is the main problem. When I check Sounds and Audio Devices in Control Panel. Both, the Audio and Voice tab have the Sound Blaster Audigy listed for Sound Recording, but do not show it as an option for sound playback. Also, the volume tab is greyed out showing no devices whatsoever.

At the moment if i try to play something I can hear static coming from the speakers which suggests there is a connection and I have also check the wirering and that they are plugged into the correct jacks.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I recently purchased a Geforce4 MX440 64MB AGP video card . When I install it my video will not come on at all. It doesn't matter if I plug the monitor into the new card or old onboard card, no video with new card in. Tried adding it manually and it's not even on the selection list. Can't install the drivers that came with the card as it says hardware device not found, please install your card.

I am running XP home. and have an ECS mobo #P4VMM2, MicroATX, VIA P4M266 Chipset 1.7ghz P4 cpu.

Someone suggested disabling the vga in BIOS, there is a setting for PCI or AGP and mine is set to AGP, where in BIOS do I go to do that? Is this a voltage issue? Thanks for any help you can give in advance! It's driving me batty.

PS: I have been to the driver site and d/l and installed the XP gforce drivers for the whcl.

Is you Windows install fully patched and up to date?
What version of Windows are you using?
Are all your drivers fully up to date?
What are you system temperature and voltages like, use HWMonitor to check.

I just recently received a new Radeon 9800 Pro 128MBDDR card and swapped it with my old Radeon 9500 Pro 128MB card.
I'm running Windows XP Professional with SP2 and I'm receiving an error similar to one someone had here, but as I have no idea how to fix it using the troubleshooting he was given, I'm requesting aid here.

"INF error
Video driver not found.

Setup was unable to complete.
Install display adapter with a Standard VGA driver before running setup"

This was what popped up when I attempted to install using the provided Catalyst software disk. I attempted to reinstall Windows, but the problem was not fixed, and the card driver in hardware profiles is showing as "Radeon 9100 Family (Microsoft Corporation)", which likely means it's running on the Windows drivers...

I'm not great at software troubleshooting, and this driver thing worries me. Please advise.

Hello TSG.

First off, I think I should start by saying my PC specs:
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2, .Net Framework 1.1 and 2.0 (about to reboot and install the rest), 32 bit
Processor: AMD Sempron, 2600+, 1.6GB GHZ
RAM: 512mb + 1GB tablet
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon x550, 256MB (I know, old)
Hard Drives: C: Total - 30GB, Free - 8GB; D: Total - 45GB, Free - 44GB;
I've been having some trouble since last friday.

I thought of adding all what I did, but it'd be long and unnecesesary. I'll just post what I did after formating.
I was getting some blue screens saying that ati2dvag.dll was stanked on a infinite loop. After a lot of unsuccessful fixes, I formatted my Hard Drives (which explains why I have so much free space).

Now after I installed the ATI latest driver, my computer keeps crashing. It doesn't crash on secure mode though. I don't see any blue screen now though, the computer just freezes, screen goes black for a second, and when the image comes back, the graphic card is not working right anymore (I know this because the image refreshes much slower). Or it just freezes permanently.

I tried older display drivers, like 8.1 and 9.1, HECK, even 5.2. None of them made a difference.

I'm so tired... I've spent hours and hours on this... I also lost everything I had when I formatted...

Please, help me...

EDIT: I don't know if this is in the right section or not o.o
If not, please excuse me.

Is the graphics card a Sapphire ATI radeon x550 if so did you go to the Sapphire site to get the drivers? Or did you get those drivers from AMD/ATI site? If you went to AMD/ATI then you will have different drivers as Sapphire have their own drivers for their graphics card

Hello, My name is Jon. Im new to these forums and they looked like a good place to ask my question. Ok, here is the deal. My dell XPS 700 came with 2 Dual Nvidia 7900's 256mb... I swaped both out for 1 ATI Raedeon X 1950 XTX. I reformated before i did so. So windows found the ATI card but it couldnt get drivers for it. So I put the ATI cd in and installed the catalyst drivers and software. Everything is working great. But, windows is still finding Nvidia hardware. Like for instance: Nvidia SMBus and Nvidia Media Shield.. These used to be installed before the reformat. Im pretty sure they were just used for the Nvidia cards so I wont need to install them right? I mean they would probably not help or actually cause harm if I install them. For now, I have not installed them and I simply disabled them in the device manager. Please tell me if i need to install them or not. Im pretty sure I wont cause I dont have the nvidia cards anymore. Tell me if im right to keep them disabled. Thanks for helping me! This already looks like a great forum.

If the cards are taken out-then you can disable them and all should be fine.

Hi guys, So i have a vaporX 5870. Runs really well and seems to have no issues but with BF3 and Skyrim. now i think the reason is that only those 2 games push the card. So after playing either for around say 20 min the temps on the card go way up.

GPU Diode (dispIO) will show around 58c
GPU Diode (MemIO) will show around 64c
GPU Diode (Shader) will show around 68c
this is with the card fan at 75%

Now i know these temps arnt bad at least i dont think so but if it gets any higher i think around 70 the card shuts down and display is killed and the card will have fans go to max. im assuming its the safety procedure for high temps hitting the peak. My MCP, north bridge on this MB was causing issues before ( Zotec 9300) but i fixed that and now its only maxing at like 52c.

So Either the card is not cooling itself corectly or my case cooling is not good enough or something in between??

System specs
Water cooled CORSAIR CWCH50
Pentium 6300 O.C to 3.4Ghz
Zotac 9300 G-E
4G Ram
Sapphire Vapor x 5870
Also is there a way to check after the fact of the card/computer crashing? is there logs somewhere?

I had recently bought a ATi Radeon 9000 64MB DDR PCI Video Card online to play a game on my computer. First when I put it in a slot the resolution was low and everything was huge and when I tried to change the resolution in the control panel it didn't change anything. Then I installed the software that came with it thinking that might solve the problem and once it got done it asked me to restart. So I restarted and then it went past the computer loading screen then got stuck on a black screen and it wouldn't get passed it. So I opened up my computer and put it in a different slot, this time it started up.. got to my desktop and everything was still huge but my start bar was gone. Restarted again.. same deal. The card came with a cord, one end hooks up to the card and the other has a yellow head (Looks like those cords you would plug into your TV: Red, Yellow, and White). But I have no idea where that would plug into inside my computer.. maybe thats the problem? Any suggestions?

My Computer Specs are:
Windows XP - Home Edition
1984 RAM
~2.2 GHz Processor
