Q: Y700 ACZ new video drivers issue Official Lenovo drivers

I just installed the office AMD VGA Driver jan 17 2017 16.40.2701.1. once through amds regular install and then a second time after using DDU in safe mode. I can now access radeon addition settings display color setting all drivers since 16.9 drivers. I use a tv as a display and need that function greatly. I havent been able to get it to show that tab with AMDs newest drivers at all. My new problem is with Lenovos drivers my apu is max 800mghz constantly when plugged in. I attached a pic so you can see. The APU going from 800 to 300 was me plugging and unplugging it. This is an issue for me now because I down clocked my CPU to play some games and now im crashing constantly from what my guess is the APU at 800 mghz constant even with little no no load. THis is so frustrating Lenovo and AMD. THis is the flagship laptop for AMD right now and Its terrible with drivers. So any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated. I just want to use the newest drivers with display color settings. Its not that hard to ask. EDIT in radeon additional settings I always have used maximum performance when plugged in and now when I switch it to optimize battery my APU for down to 300 when in idle or light load like it should and used to with all the other drivers ive used and left it on Maximum Performance. This sucks if that settings on optimize battery the cpu runs at 2.5ghz on high performace. This is messed up here APU does not need to runn at 800mhz with little to no load. Im so frustrated at these drivers loosing settings tabs every update. The offical drivers are messed up now it seems

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

My Lenovo Y700 has been suffering from an issue since October of 2016, one which I imagine many people on this forum (or at least those of you who have also purchased this laptop model) are aware of. The issue itself wouldn't bother me, if it wasn't for Lenovo's gross negligence and seeming apathy towards customers with the issue. Here is the story behind my infuriation:I bought the Lenovo Y700-15ACZ laptop back in February from my local Best Buy, at the cost of nearly 900USD (including tax), to replace my old Dell laptop, and up until late October I was relatively satisfied with the purchase. Then Windows sent out their latest updates for the AMD graphics driver. At this time, I had no idea what was going on, so I brought the laptop to Geek Squad, at the same Best Buy from which I bought the computer. They explained to me that the issue was caused by an incompatibility between the built-in motherboard graphics card and the AMD video card, a result of the most recent graphics update at the time. So, I had them roll back the computer to before the update in question was released, and disable all automatic updates. It's a good temporary solution, but as many of us probably know, disabling updates means that security updates, as well as graphics updates, will not install, thus putting my computer at an increased risk of malware infection. So, after three months of leaving my Lenovo update-less, I decided that I've tempted fate long enough, and called Geek Squad to arrange an app... Read more

I had been tearing my hair out for the last 2 days trying to work out why my SSD performance was slower than my previous computer (Q9300, GA-EP41-UD3L with no AHCI, 4GB DDR2 RAM) and realised that it was the SATA drivers that came with my motherboard. As soon as I went back to the Windows default AHCI SATA drivers my read/write speeds were about 280MB/270MB per sec. once I installed the Intel ICH10R drivers and the Marvel SATA 3 drivers, my performance dropped to about 240MB/235MB per sec (This is using ATTO Benchmark)

Anyone notice this and is there a solution for this problem?

P.S. It also appears that the Intel/Marvel drivers do not support the TRIM command as when I run a program to force this to happen, the drive does nothing (whereas it works with the default drivers)

A:Slower SSD performance with official drivers

Hello Scorpian, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might give the beta Intel AHCI SATA drivers a try to see how it works for. It supports TRIM. I got better performance with my SSD with this one.

The latest official WHQL Intel AHCI SATA drivers (Intel Rapid Storage Technology) also supports TRIM, but it not the latest version as the one above.

Hope this helps,

I had this problem with the earlier 66.71 drivers and I just installed 66.93 and had the problem again (I was using a nonofficial driver, can't remember number). What it appears to be doing is taking the polygons of certain things and extending them, like lines, across the entire world, they move with the originating entity, but they just extend to infinity... This has happened with both Far Cry and the World of Warcraft Beta, both of which worked fine with the non-official drivers. Has anyone ever heard of this kind of thing before, or am I alone in this?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Did you completely uninstall the old driver first?

Also when installing drivers it`s a good idea to disable any antivirus programme you are using as this can seriously screw up the process of installing and uninstalling.

Hello HP community,I have quite a problem here. I game on this HP 15-r032nx notebook that I obtained about a year and a half ago (as silly as it seems, but I'm a low-spec gamer, so anything goes), and I've been vouching for Intel to grab the latest Intel HD Graphics drivers, as the official ones provided by HP are sorely outdated (a little bit over a year, to be exact, latest official driver was released back in August 2015), meanwhile Intel's latest driver update was released in the middle of August 2016. But, the big thing was, when I decided to revert into HP's official latest drivers, all my games' performances improved marginally. I seriously feel the performance could be further improved by having HP release their version of the latest drivers for Intel HD Graphics 4400, but unfortunately I do not see that for my laptop model. Anything going on here?

A:Official HP Intel HD Graphics 4400 Drivers Outdated

Nothing is going on. HP does not create the drivers for the HD 4400 graphics, Intel does. It is their product. The graphics solution  is on the same chip as the CPU\APU and not on the system board. Your best source for an Intel HD 4400 graphics driver will be at the Intel driver download website

Your files aren't stored in the main Toshiba files, which probably means Toshiba no longer supports your model. But they are still stored in the listed archives. This is all the files I could find for your device Windows 7 32bit

Important drivers

Firmware: You will need at least one of these but not all, use the one you know you had before the refresh. If you don't know which one you had then use the top one.

It's a Dell Dimension 2400, and it's behaving very oddly. I reformatted the hard drive, installed XP Pro from a Dell CD that did not come with that computer (he didn't have his CD on him, so I borrowed it from his colleague since he was losing money with no computer; I assume it's just the OS when it has a separate driver CD; do some of Dell's OS CD's include the drivers?), and then installed all the programs that the client needed. I then got the drivers from the Dell website (chipset, audio, video, and network). It was running great the whole time I was working on it, which was for many hours.

The next morning, the client started to use it. It worked fine for a little bit, but then started to give errors like the following:

"Instruction at "0x00000000" memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program."

Program: Explorer.exe

"The application failed to initialize properly (0Xc0000044). Click OK."

Program: Firefox

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000012d). Click OK."

Program: iexplore.exe

It came to a point where even RIGHT-clicking on MY COMPUTER and attempting to select "Properties" would cause issues (gave an error message saying the action could not be performed).

When I checked it out later on, sure enough, it was doing exactly that. And even when I tried shutting the computer down, it said I was not authorized to do so. Very odd.

First off, I have Windows XP.

For example, I have an older video card in my system now because I have to send my better card in for warranty repair.

I had upgraded to Direct x 9 and now I want to go back to 8.1. How do I revert or remove Direct x 9?

Also, what is the best way to install video drivers? I heard awhile back you should boot into safe mode or something?

A:What's the BEST way to install video drivers , new Direct X,and remove older drivers?

This method works best for me. First off, I use Norton Ghost 2003 to make an image of my Windows drive. When I make this image, I have already installed WinXP SP1 plus all the latest Windows updates I can get. Also, I have already installed useful and necessary programs like Norton Antivirus 2002, ZoneAlarm Firewall, NoAds, Analog X Cookiewall. I make sure that I don't have any videocard drivers installed. As for Direct X, it's the default one installed when you first install WinXP.

Now that I have the image, I go on and try installing new Direct X versions or new videocard drivers. If something goes wrong and messes up my system or I'm not happy with the performance of the new drivers or Direct X, I use Norton Ghost 2003 to restore my image. By restoring the image, I have everything back--WinXP SP1 + all updates, programs I've installed, etc. The process only takes about 4 minutes compared to reinstalling Windows + all the programs manually (3-5 hours).

With the image backed up to that original point, I try alternative drivers or Direct X files until I find a setting I like.

This is the way I test new Detonator drivers and Direct X files. It's fool-proof and makes me more bold in trying out new stuff.

If you need more background on the benefits of Ghost 2003 and its usage, check out this guide at Radified.com:

Hope that helped.

Hello all. My laptop used work perfectly until the day I decided to remove all the extra stuff by doing a clean install of Windows 10.  I predownloaded all the drivers I would need and then did the clean installation.  Now I have an issue with my wifi.  It randomly drops connection to wifi and is slow to start working again.  After coming out of sleep it does not automatically reconnect to the ap and I have to trigger it manually.  Separately (i think) when coming out of sleep, the login screen does not respond to the keyboard and I am forced to use the mousepad to click or a touchscreen swipe to get to the password field. What I'm seeking is an official list of drivers that are required for a clean windows 10 install on a thinkpad yoga series 20CD.  If order of installation is critical, please give this also.  I believe I downloaded everything available from the support page but just want to be sure.  Sometimes not all drivers are available when filtering by OS "Windows 10".   Thanks in advance. Laptop specs are:512gb ssdmemory card slot2.4/5 n/ac wireless 7260ac w/bluetooth

Not too sure. Make sure that ALL video drivers from before are gone. I suggest using a driver cleaner program which is easily available. This shouldn't be a problem, but make sure the visual settings like filtering, and anti-aliasing are turned somewhat down.

I am going to try to describe this issue as best as I can, though it is an elusive beast...

If the AMD drivers are installed for my GPU, and I lock the computer (Win-L, not put to sleep), then come back *some time* later, both of my screens respond to moving my mouse and exit sleep mode, however, the screens just show black - I see no lock screen. It behaves the same as if the unlock screen would actually be displayed in that it waits for a minute and, not noticing input, the screens turn off again. If I try to CTRL-ALT-DEL and enter my password to log in, the PC does not respond. The only solution is to force reboot.

Now, I have a similar experience if I remove the drivers via Programs and Features, which means I'm running off stock Windows drivers (I'm guessing at this point, I don't understand how I get good graphics performance in games from my GPU when I remove the AMD drivers... if someone could explain that to me I would appreciate it).

However, it's different. Only one screen turns on, but it simply shows black. The other stays off (in sleep mode). In this situation, I am able to blindly hit CTRL-ALT-DEL, enter my password, and log in - which then displays the desktop on both screens - but the monitor that did turn on defaults resolution to 640x480, and I hear the 'device removed' sound. If I look in the Screen Resolution CP, it shows 1920x1080, and changing it has no effect. Because I cannot get it to restore normal resolution, I am forced to reboot.

First off, this is not just another case of "Help me fix this problem i have been having..."
This is not the case. I have a problem, which cannot be solved with ordinary methods, doesn't make any sense (to me, at least) and which i cannot even identify properly...
So, my dear tech gurus, im asking for your help.

Also, i have a video of really low quality (320x240), but with epic music on youtube. )
I suggest you go and watch it now..

Watch It Now!!!

So after viewing the video you propably know what problems im having,
but if you didnt watch it, here's a list.

When PC boots normally i get horizontal groups of colored bars over the screen.
Soon afterwards (at the splash screen, maybe) the PC freezes. (cannot hear login sounds when type in password, keyboard lights inactive - scroll lock etc.)
Cant be turned off with button either.

When PC boots in safemode i still get those bars, but the actual image the PC is supposed to display is partially visible.
PC can be operated flawlessly (but no graphics applications, possibly because drivers not loaded)

When i start it up, it usually offers the option to run Startup Recovery, but when recovery does its diagnostics, it shows error called BadDrivers, which it cant fix. System Recovery also cant fix this.

If i run the PC in safe mode and remove/reinstall the drivers to a different version, the problem still persists.

easiest thing is to google any numbers you can find on your motherboard, this will identify the make and model and will (well should unless its an obscure cheap make) provide a link to the drivers on the makers website.

Once you find the drivers remember to back them up to a dvd or a CD and label them up.

I have many issues I've been continuously noticing on my Lenovo, Y700 15ISK (I think its 15ISK, something like that). I've tried many things but can't figure out what's wrong. I'll try and clearly state my issues, but typing out my thoughts is a weakness of mine. I have been expereincing many problems with my laptop. They started out lightly and have continued to occur more often. Problem 1: Whenever I open my computer after it being asleep, my display won't turn on, but my keys are lit like it is. This problem is fixed with a restart.Problem 2: Same situation as problem 1, but my display will turn on. The mouse will also work, but my keyboard will not. I can tell because I always leave my num lock key on, and when I suspect my keyboard isn't working, the numlock key will remain on and can't be turned off. This is also fixed by a restart.Problem 3: After being asleep (seems to be a trend), my keyboard and display will work. Though, if I try and get into a game that uses a lot of graphics (League of Legengds & WoW are the most common), I won't be able to load the game past the client. I'll get an error message, the same everytime, saying something along the line of "issues with Direct x9." ( I can try and find the exact message if its important." This issue is also fixed by a restart.Problem 4: This used to not be an issue, but has become more and more common. As I use my computer, it is common that it will crash and give me an error as shown in the attachment. T... Read more

I can't seem to find drivers that work with the built-in webcam of my Y700-15ISK (came preinstalled with Win10 64-bit).I uninstalled my drivers to update them for a newer version, but it turned out the ones from the Y700 support page don't match my hardware and as such won't install. My laptop has a Realtek camera, the ones on the driver page list a bundle for AVC, Bison, Chicony and Intel. So I went back to my c:\drivers\camera folder and installed what I assume to be the native drivers, but while these do install without errors, my webcam remains nonfunctional. It's not being recognized by windows at all, it's just sitting at the bottom of my device manager as an 'Unknown USB-device (device descriptor request failed)'. Lenovo Settings also no longer shows a tab for Camera, though Windows does still have the webcam privacy tab in the config menu (not sure if indicative for webcam presence or default Win10 page). The webcam worked just fine up until the last moment and I strongly doubt the hardware randomly broke at the exact same time I uninstalled the previous drivers, so something seems to be borked on the software side. Screenshot from Device Manager: http://i.imgur.com/cqc7nfY.jpg(I've tried hitting the 'uninstall driver' button to see if it would catch onto the actual driver installation after rebooting, but no luck there either) Does anyone know how I can get the camera functional again?(And on a side not... Hello, I have a friend here who has a Lenovo Y700 and it has been giving an issue lately that he has made rather obvious constantly cursing and saying how much he hates his laptop so I decided I was going to come here and ask y'all for some help or advice. The issue he is having is with his keyboard. The only example I have of this issue is when we play Garry's Mod. The popular steam game. He can play for a while. We have a good time messing around with stuff. Then his keyboard stops working. All he can do is look around and when he tries walking, he walks in one direction and can't stop it. The only solution he has is temporary. He just shuts down his laptop then turns it back on, then the same issue occurs between 10 minutes to an hour or 2.We have factory reset it once and it worked for a little while but then the same issue came back and he is getting really annoyed by it. If any of you have a solution to this very problem or a solution to a problem similar to this, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello  My y700 is only 6 months old, Im suddenly getting only 2hours backup on battery, shows only 2 hours remaining when charged fully and it doesnt even last 2hours if observed closely. Its not that im gaming or very heavy workload program something, Yesterday i fully charged the battery used it in 40% brightness and streamed 480p videos on youtube, it didnt last 2hours! Why is happening? shouldnt i begetting 5 hours on battery ? help please.  One more thing i noticed the laptop tends to warm all the time, not like super hot while gaming, even when siiting in idle  the keyboard part feels warm.

Hey guys so I just got a brand new Lenovo Y700 laptop yesterday and when I just opened it and was setting it up the display was fine it was like normal. But when I went onto the bed and adjusted the screen (i.e tilted it) it suddenly became extremely dim to the point where I couldn't see anything. The issue with this was that when I shifted the screen back and forth to find a position where the display would work fine it'd go back to normal for awhile before going back to being super dim. My adaptive brightness and auto brightness are turned off i'm not really sure what's the cause of this since its brand new, please give your opinion. Thanks.

I have a Lenovo Y700 with a intergated R7 and a Dedicated R9 4GB graphics card. It appears that everything is defaulting to the R7 and not running off the R9 like it should be. I am running updated drivers from AMD's website. How can I ensure that all games are running off the R9?
