Preferred Solution: Yoog Search in IE and Firefox - first steps?/ Moved

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

In order to assist you, we need some additional information.

What is your operating system: Windows XP, Vista, etc.?

What security programs do you have installed?

What alerted you to the presence of yoog?

What symptoms does your computer exhibit: pop-ups, redirections, etc.? Please be as specific as you can.

For months I had my Google search replaced by Yoog in both my Firefox and IE. I tried restarting my computer in safe mode and deleting the Yoog file, but that failed.

Hi Everyone,

First, I want to point out that not a single method currently posted online that I am aware of works when trying to remove Yoog Search Malware. I tried every single one (which takes a lot of time) and they all failed, so this tells me either experts are not taking this serious or they are presently unable to select a generic system for its removal that works.

I am happy to say that I did finally remove Yoog Search Malware from my system and although it seems a long winded way, when compared to the time used in trying alternative ways it proves to be one of the more efficient ways in the long run. It also finds many Malware programs that my current security software missed and therefore was well worth it.

Steps 1 - Open Firefox and click Bookmarks/Organise Bookmarks.

Step 2 - Click Import and Backup and select ‘Backup’. Choose the destination for saving this file and click ‘Save’.

Only Do Steps 1 and 2 if you want to save all your current ‘Bookmarks’ and ‘Bookmark Folders’ otherwise you can skip this part.

Step 3 - Uninstall Mozilla Firefox - Control Panel/Add Remove Programs/Mozilla/Uninstall.

Step 4 – Now remove all traces of Mozilla Firefox from your system - My Computer/C:/Documents and Settings/Admin *or whatever your System Username is*/Application Data *(if this is hidden click folder options and tick the box that says show hidden folders*/Mozilla/Delete this folder if it is still there.

Step 5 - Remove any other Mozilla Files - Click Sta... Read more

It is showing up on my browser and I have not been able to remove it. Things I have tried are Spy Bot , Malware Bites and CA anti Virus . Anyone out there have an idea that will get rid of it?

Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to look at this...

I bought a new PC about a month ago. It's Vista home edition. I have automatic updates on.

A few days ago I noticed Yoog Search was in my toolbar. I dowloaded Adaware, Spybot, and Malwarebytes. Ran the scans and deleted all that they found. I still have Yoog Search. I have since uninstalled the 3. I have Shaw Secure running right now - but it hasn't warned me about anything.

I have little knowledge about computers... so please be gentle!

I have a problem with IE7, there is a search program that is called Yoog. When I go to change the Search Settings for IE7 to anything other than this Yoog Search it will change it for the first search and then you look and it says Yoog Search.

I have set the the Default Search to Live Search and removed Yoog Search from the list and bang its back again. No matter what you set the Default to and Remove Yoog from the list its right back.

I'm currently running Windows XP - SP3 and Internet Explorer 7.
I have Norton 360 for my Virus, Spyware, Firewall and it doesn't seem to be able to see it or get rid of it either.

I ran malwarebytes and it didn't work.Did it not install or did it not run?Some types of malware will disable Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and other security tools. If MBAM will not install, try renaming it and changing the file extension.Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file, rename it to mysetup and change the .exe extension to .scr, .com, .pif, or .bat.Then double-click on mysetup.scr (or whatever extension you renamed it) to begin installation.If after installation, MBAM will not run, open the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder in Program Files.Right-click on mbam.exe, rename it to myscan and change the .exe extension in the same way as noted above.Double-click on myscan.scr (or whatever extension you renamed it) to launch the program.If using Windows Vista, refer to How to Change a File Extension in Windows Vista.Be sure to update MBAM through the program's interface (preferable method) or manually download the definition updates and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. Then perform a Quick Scan in normal mode and check all items found for removal. Don't forgot to reboot afterwards. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. When done, click the Logs tab and copy/paste the contents of the report in your next reply.

I did try some other solutions that had been recommended elsewhere about Yoog Search but it keeps coming back and I could not really find anything helpful with regards to Addestination. I appreciate any help, suggestions you can make and certainly appreciate the time and effort that you are giving to me - so thank-you in advance. The only change to log below is I took my own name out of the "Run by .... "line. Thanks very much again.

I am attempting to proceed with first steps in order to get assistance with a problem which slows down my computer. I also get redirected in google while operating firefox..

**However, when I attempt to download and run "dds" It gets canceled before completed. After several attempts it will go through, but then displays error code "windows cannot access the specified device,path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

This could be due to a lack of understanding, I find even the simplest operations proving difficult in regards to my computer literacy.. in fact I am unaware what a script blocker is. I have looked it up and I am pretty sure I don't have any... I work out of Firefox but have IE still on my computer..

I hope someone can walk me through this, as I am in need of assistance.

Can you give us the error in full that you are getting. Also, I would check and make sure that ZoneAlarm and Avast are allowing FF to connect to the internet.

I don't know if my problem is Firefox or WordPress but I thought I'd try here first.
I use WordPress to publish articles and usually copy and paste from the finished article in the Articles forum to WordPress but since I reinstalled Win 7 this no longer works as paste is no longer an option when I right click in WordPress, or at least in the particular part that I need it to. I can, however, do it in Internet Explorer, but images aren't copied over, which they used to be. I've tried all the usual things like clearing the cache, but nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

A:Is this Win 7 or Firefox at fault? Moved from Mozilla/Firefox browsers

Hi,
I am using Win-7 too but I haven't used IE. So my suggestion is to, try another browser for the same purpose and then see the effects (I feel firefox is well suited for the purpose). If you are getting same problems then, you are missing with some features of Win-7 otherwise, it is the website issue.

Dear BleepingComputer folk,

My laptop is running Firefox 40.0.3 under Windows 8.1 (64-bit).

The Problem

Two nights ago my browser (then Firefox 40.0.2) started opening some webpages extremely slowly, simply refusing to open others and producing a "This document has been moved here" message for others (see below screenshot - the link would appear to go to whatever I searched for, but I never clicked it).

These various problems were affecting familiar websites that I have bookmarked and regularly open, such as Facebook.  This seemed to be in some way related to the cache, as it was not affecting new URLs that I had not visited previously during that browsing session.

In addition, when using Google Toolbar (but not https://www.google.co.uk/ , which appeared fully functional) to search for anything I would receive the same: "This document has been moved here", but with an additional "302 Moved" message.

SCREENSHOT #2 - result of attempt to search for http://www.facebook.com/ via Google Toolbar:

Attempting to access attachments in gmail also produced a similar message (I don't have a screenshot of this, but I believe the message there again differed slightly, saying that the document was "temporarily" moved).  This is what I encoun... Read more

I have ran scan with both found a couple little malware & virus's that where moved to chest and deleted. Just finished a boot time scan with zero issues found. I opened Firefox went to google.com and type anything into the search bar and 90% of the time I get redirected to [ http://www.goingonearth.com/search.php?q=pot%2Bfarms&n=1302662089 ] then after that to various sites doesn't seem to be any order to that part haven't got the same page twice. I did have Google Tools installed I uninstalled that last week and the problem went away for a few days now it's back. Any more info or logs that would help just let me know Thanks.

So now it happens in all search engines seem to be able to navigate the web fine just can't search for results. OK, Budapest I didn't know that the web console in windows with the list of what google was supposed to search for was a combofix.log I was pretty sure they where two entirely different things. As I don't use IE I hadn't check in it, this issue is the same there also. I've deleted all temporary internet files, from both, deleted java's temp files also. I can't find any process that shouldn't be running, I've checked all my add-ons in both IE & FF there are no unknown add-ons in either.

Hi, experts,

I got default-search.net when downloading from a large reputable download site which I thought was a safe bet. Wrong.
My antivirus picked up about 20 problems (the laptop was going mad with its AVG dings advising of a detection. I got AVG to clean up those problems. However, the laptop was running very slowly, so I investigated and deleted the program that I had just installed. Using Iorbit uninstaller, I deleted the program but just at the end of the uninstall process (and before the Iorbit could run its advanced uninstall to make sure that no pieces of the install were remaining in the registry, the program froze and that process was not completed.

I then noticed that default-search.net was had become my default search engine. So I then ran MalwareBytes. This removed the problem but on reboot D-F.net was back again. Then I went into my Firefox profile and found an entry for D-S.net and deleted the line. All was perfect until a reboot. I then installed Spybot but that has not found D-S.net.

What file is re-activating D-S.net in my Firefox browserand how do I remove it?

Long before this, I de-activated MS Internet Explorer as I do not use it - unfortunately you can't delete it as it is part of the Windows system.

Many thanks in advance.

Notes:
Lenovo G465 laptop
Windows 7 Home Editon
AVG antivirus installed
Maywarebytes installed
Spyboy search and destroy installed after the problem.

I have a Dell Optiplex running Windows XP Pro SP3, running Symantec Endpoint Protection, and I have the most up-to-date windows updates, and IE and Firefox browsers.

The browsers are my problem. They both will work for a little bit and then crash. Not just one crash but 4-10 times in the span of a few minutes, on all types of sites (facebook, google searches, yahoo mail, ebay, etc). I?m pretty much on my last nerve and very frustrated with this problem. It has been going on for about a week now.

Here is a list of what I have done to try and fix the problem:
? Uninstalled and reinstalled both
? Updated Java (it is enabled in both)

I have pasted just a few of the Event Error logs. Now keep in mind that this list can go on and on but this is just from Monday and Tuesday:

Symantec is known to not be the best in catching malware that might come into your system. I would try running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and see if that finds anything. Download it from here: http://www.malwarebytes.org. Please then post its log back here! Thanks

Don't know if anyone can help, but hope someone can offer suggestion.

I have a website and the index page has a 'drop-down' menu (for various pages on the site) where visitors can click and go to other pages on the site.

When I view the INDEX page in IE6, the 'drop-down' menu appears in the center of the page, where we want it to appear.

However, when we view the INDEX page in Firefox, the 'drop-down' menu appears on the left side of the page.

Would anyone know what we might have to do (correct) to make the 'drop-down' menu on the INDEX page appear in the center of page when viewed on Firefox?

Here is the beginning part of the HTML for the 'drop-down' menu:

<P ALIGN=CENTER>
<SCRIPT language=JavaScript>
function formHandler(){
var URL = document.form.mysites.options
[document.form.mysites.selectedIndex].value;
parent.location.href = URL;
}
</SCRIPT>
<P align=center>
<FORM name=form><SELECT onchange=formHandler() size=1 name=mysites> <OPTION value="" selected>My Pages 2-28
<OPTION value=http://www.XXXXX.com/XXXXX/Page2.html>Page 2
<OPTION value=http://www.XXXXX.com/XXXXX/Page3.html>Page 3
etc.......

We need to see the site to work out problems such as these.

At a glance of the snippet of code you have provided, I would guess its to do with firefox's defualt values compared to IE. Using <p> tags for a layout element such as a menu isn't a great idea.

If you show us the site I can do some tests and try to find the problem.
