Solved: Nero 7.2.0.3 Problem??

Q: Solved: Nero 7.2.0.3 Problem??

I've been running Nero 7.0.8.2 on one of my systems (W2000) without any problems. Yesterday I replaced it with 7.2.0.3 and now have "Nero Scout" running all of the time. I can't find a way to shut the damn thing off. In the older version it is listed but not active unless I want it. Nero FAQ's don't cover this. Does anyone have any ideas or at least what module of Nero 7 this is included, and I won't install that module. If I want something to check my document folders, I'll ASK for it!!!!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My MP3s and stuff (along with all other files shared between my account and my sister's on the PC) are in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\

The problem I'm having is that in Nero when I go to that folder in the folder tree I have the little expand + sign next to the folder, but when I click on it the + disappears but it does not expand to show the folders it contains.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Shared Music\
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Shared Pictures\
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Shared Text\ etc.

Nothing shows up in the right-hand files window either, so there's no way of selecting the MP3s from there.

The folders and files display correctly in Windows Explorer, and can be burned to disk with the XP built-in burning software, and they can be burned in Nero if they are copied to another folder, but this isn't really always convienient.

Can anyone tell me how to make the Shared Documents folder display in Nero?

Thanks

Hello everyone. I am having problems operating Nero eXpress 6, My O.S. is Win 2000 Pro.
My Source drive is showing as E:, which is corrrect (CD-ROM). But my Destination drive is also showing as E: instead of F: (CD-ROM R/RW). I am unable to change this. I have un-installed and re-installed Nero, and both E: & F: drives, all to no avail. F: drive is functional.

Your help would be appreciated, Thank you.

I am using the DVD Video function on Nero Vision Express in an attempt to burn some files to a DVD. . This is what I've done.

1. I took a video from a standalone video recorder and ran it through DVD Decryptor and edited it using Videoredo.
2. I saved the file as both a) .MPG and b) .VOB files.
3. I've tried adding these, one at a time, to a project on Make DVD Video on Nero Vision Express.

Each time Nero displays an error message 'The file.....does not contain any video information.'

So I tried another way. I used DVDAuthorGUI and 'authored' the files. I've tried adding the resulting files to a Make DVD Video project to Nero, and I get the same error message.

I've also tried dragging the files in, with the same result.

I would appreciate anyone's input on this.

Stephen.

When I go to burn a cd in Nero 5.5, I can't set my burn speed any lower than 8x. I am using Memorex Music cd-r's, and they apparently aren't pleased with being burned at 8x, as they crackle badly on every cd player I try. However, they sound fine at 12x, it's just that most cd players don't want to read them at that speed. My burner is an Artec WRR-4848; I don't know what sets the burn speeds within Nero, if it is related to autodetecting something about the burner, but I checked for firmware updates and I have the newest version. This is all very frustrating, as I wanted to burn cd's as Christmas presents, and it is now February. It has been a struggle all the way, to say the least. I thank you in advance for any help you might offer.

A:(Solved) Burn speed problem in Nero

The burning speeds in Nero are based on the capabilities of your CD-R drive, Nero 5.5.10 allows me to burn at 4x, 8x. 12x, and 16x. My CD-RW drive is a 16x drive, so that makes perfect sense.

FWIW, I think you may have better luck changing the media brand, rather than trying to change the burning speed. I burn my music CD's at 8x and 12x, and they sound fine on any of my CD players.

On a new install of Windows 7 (64-bit) I tried to install Nero 7 Ultra.

It stopped me towards the end of the install and prompted me to search for a solution or close the program. I have tried both.

I think the problem is incompatibility with this OS.

That's not a big deal because I still have my XP drive and it works fine there, but now I can't get it to fully uninstall because it stops the process much the same way as when I try to install.

I don't think it's doing anything by being there, but I would like to keep the computer as clutter-free as I can, and I don't want to run registry programs as your sticky notes imply that they are wild cards and do not always lead to favorable results.

Any way to get this off my PC?

I had nero 7 essentials installed few months before. So I uninstalled it at installed nero 9. But the installation failed. I gave another 2 attempts but i had to stop both installation because I was in a hurry to go. When I came back I installed nero 7 which was provided with my DVD Writer. Then I realized this version is not suitable anymore so I uninstalled it and installed Nero 9 again and went to school. When I came back my cousin had uninstalled it and installed Nero 7 Essentials. So, in that night Uninstalled it again and tried to install Nero 9. But I couldn't because when I insert the CD my computer got stuck. Even the CTRL+ALT+DEL didn't work. The Numlock was on, I tried to off it but it also didn't off (seems like signals are not transferring). Then I restarted the computer with the restart button and after the system came to desktop, I tried to insert another CD. But the computer got stuck again. After that time my computer get stuck when I insert a DVD or CD(Anyway I inserted XP bootable CD when my machine starts and it worked without any matter) .All these things happened approximately 2 months before, and I am still using my computer without using the DVD Writer. I did a search today using keyword "Nero" and it gave me 935 results.I tried to delete these files but some wont even get deleted.
Please help me to bring my DVD, CD works back to life. Thank you.

Hi junialum,

I found two reviews of Nero 7 Premium by the same macmcf - and it would appear the solution to the problem is to remove InCD4 [see links below]:

Read this user review from pricegrabber.com of Nero 7:

I have an external hard drive with some files backed up from an old XP system using Nero Back Up software (files have the .NBA extension)
I am looking for a new computer and will want to install some of these files onto the new computer. Am I able to do this if the Nero software is not installed on the new computer, or will I have to buy Nero software just to add these files to the new computer? If so, is that always the case, that one must restore files using the same software used to backup the files?
Thanks.

A:Restoring file backed up on old system with Nero..do I need Nero

Yes, you will need to install the Nero Backup software in order to restore the .nba files.

You can try using their free version of NeroBackItUp from here http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads/ to see if that will work.

If not, they have older versions of the same free program http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads/previous-versions/nero-backitup.php

See if you can find the same version that you used to do the backup.

There are other programs you can use to do backups that don't require the same program to restore files. I use SyncBackFree to backup my files. You can use the same program to restore files, but it's not necessary. You can just copy the files back with Windows Explorer.

I am using Nero BackItUp 2.0.0.0 (Nero Ultra 7) and have been receiving "data verification failed" and "Sector NNNNNN on disc has different content to source" errors recently. On the same PC (Win XP Pro SP2), I got the errors using two different burners (an HP and a Sony) and trying both a DVD/RW and a DVD/R. FYI, I use Shadow Copy for the burn, the burn process completes without error every time (i.e. - the error only occurs during verification), and I have burned to the DVD/RW many times before without incident. More generally, I didn't get data verification errors before so I am wondering why I might be getting them now. Also, could someone tell me what, exactly, "Sector NNNNNN on disc has different content to source" means? I assume it means that the source and target files are not matching in some cases. More importantly, is it a big deal? I ran the ScanDisc in Nero CD-DVD Speed and both DVDs had 100% good sectors (0% damaged or bad). Nero log file attached.

Thanks,

Hello, everyone.

I attempted to burn a video file onto a DVD, with Nero Express. However, the software only allows either bup, vob or ifo files. After googling such terms on the web, I came across several forums/communities and whatnot, where people kept saying that Nero Vision is required, in order to convert the files you want, into bup, vob or ifo (I have absolutely zero clue as to why the company behind Nero didn't include Nero Vision in Nero 12's software suite. Because without it, Nero Express is totally useless. But I digress)

I jumped on Nero Vision, but was told by the software that my project could only fit into a DVD-9.

Question 1: I have burnable DVDs for 120 min/4.7gb. Doesn't that mean that even if my project exceeds 120 minutes in length, if it still doesn't exceed the size limit, it's supposed to work? What on earth is a DVD-9, anyways?

Question 2: If you can just power on Nero Vision and immediately get your original file and burn it, why does Nero Express require all this bup, vob, ifo nonsense???

Question 3: What are the major differences between immediately burning your original file onto a DVD, and converting that into the required bup, vob and ifo formats?

Question 4: How would I go about doing that with Nero Vision?

EDIT: Realized that the only way to burn past that time limit (120 min)(My file exceeds 2 hours in length) is to decrease its quality, which I do not want to do. So I should go with the vob, bup, ifo stuff, ri... Read more

I need some help. I am running Windows 98. I have Nero 5 cd burner. Never had any problems with it until now when it comes to reading cds or burning a cd. I burned a cd the other day and everything was fine. My grandmother gave me a cd for my mom to listen to, which came from UK. I placed it into my burner to play it (sometimes I use it instead of my CD rom) and it played fine. Well, I tried burning some songs from my MP3 files onto a cd (and I've used the cds plenty of times before) and it's only burning a few songs. For example, it got to the 14th song then said Failed Writer Error. So, I tried burning the songs again, this time just 10 at a time, made it to the 8th song then said the same thing. I put the cd into my dvd player to see if the songs would play, and they played and stopped where the burning failed. I'm wondering if the UK cd was formatted differently and has messed up my burner? And if so, can it be reformatted or something? I tried reinstalling it and that didn't work either. Someone please tell me what the problem might be. Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to burn an ISO to a CD in Nero 5.5, but it keeps telling me "unexpected exception" and doesn't burn the CD. I've upgraded the firmware to the latest version and there aren't any other programs running.

A:Nero problem

Hello.

I had the same problem. To correct it, I uninstalled Nero and then reinstalled it. I also updated Nero, the firmware on the burner, and the motherboard drivers. I have not had the problem since.

Hope this helps and good luck.

I have the following -

- .AVI file of 658.833 mb.
- Nero 5, version 5.5.5.1
- HP 8200 series CD writer.
- 700 mb blank cd.

I tried to write the .avi file on to the cd with Nero5 so that I could have a VCD which I could play on any VCD/DVD player. But I encountered the following problems -

-When I hit the burn button on Nero, I get a msg saying "Sorry, there is not enough disk space for the required Nero cache(needed 3751mb, available 1875mb). Please free some disk space or use another caching drive."

-The VCD is much longer than 80min(from the space indicator). If I change the caching drive to my D drive(please tell me how to do that!!), how do I get the movie to be partitioned into halves and fit perfectly into 2 CDs??

Many thanks!!

check your cache settings in nero. File->preferences click on the cache section. Check your settings there.

Hi. Thankyou for having such a great forum to help. I've used this a couple times with a few little glitches I have had in the past.

Firstly I apologise if this problem has been covered. I have done a pretty detailed search here, and googled it, but haven't found an answer.

I have been one of the lucky ones with running Nero 7 Ultra Edition with no problems for months.

I have created quite a few home movies and slideshows with no problems until yesterday.

When I tried to edit a home movie, the program just closed, no errors, just closed. I found it was when I tried to edit movies with transitions in AFTER I had saved and reopened it. Any movie without transitions, or with transitions but haven't opened are fine. Also still image slideshows with transitions are fine too.

It doesn't seem to care what type of video file it is, only if it has had transitions added to it.

I doubt its a memory problem (the movie I really want to edit isn't that long, I have edited ones much longer). I have downloaded a couple of 3g convertors, so I'm unsure if they have caused a problem with codecs?? (I'm not really up to date with codecs, I need to understand them a bit better before I start playing around with them) All my other media programs, including Windows Movie Maker work fine.

I really don't want to do a system restore unless its absolutely necessary. I haven't tried reinstalling Nero yet. I guess I will have to get the cleaner on the n... Read more

Hi all!

I am using Nero 6 and when I try to burn a CD or DVD it freezes during the burning proccess, it has now happened on 4 occasions (In a row) and I have given up trying. It has happened on 47%, 64%, 96% and 55%, so no frequent place where it stops.

Has anyone else maybe had this problem and would be able to help by telling my what fixed it for them?

Hope so,
Thanks,
Bill
