I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Greetings!

Stats: Outlook 2002, Exchange 2000, Delegated Mailboxes

Here are the issues we're having:

Person A gave rights to Person B to manage their mailbox (delegation). The delegation is set up correctly, but its hindering some functionality (which may not even exist).

1) Can Person B (the controller of A's box) utilize A's contacts via the Address Book? At this point, we cannot. We tried to add it via the Address book 'Tools --> Options' menu, but its not even listed. We also verified the properties of the delegated contact list and its checked to generate Exchange Views.

* Basic problem: Person B cannot utilize the contact list from anything except for manually clicking on the 'Contacts' folder in the delegated mailbox. (So, using the To... doesn't work)
2) Can Person B set 'reminders' in Person A's calendar? If so, we have something set up incorrectly. Presently, reminders in the delegated mailbox do not pop up for the controller. Ideas?

* Basic Problem: Events come and go in the delegated calendar without reminding the controller (Person B).

A:Outlook Delegation: Bane of my existance

1. As far as I know, "no". But did you double-check that the Person A's address book is an "Outlook address book"?

2. Unsure

Check www.slipstick.com (the ultimate Outlook resource, IMHO)

What device are you sending it to?
A lot of the comm addins have not been developed yet.
I still cannot get Outlook to sync up with my Iphone because the 64 bit .dll addin has not been compiled yet.

So I just started using Outlook 2010 and I have added 3 email accounts.
The error I get is about the hotmail account, the 2 other gmail account seems to work fine.
Task '[email protected]' reported error (0x80004005) : 'There is an error synchronizing your mail account. Please verify your account is configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web. Error: 4102. '

I have installed the latest Outlook Hotmail Connector thing aswell.
Any idea what the problem might be? Google has failed me this time, seems the 0x8004005 error can be a lot of different things.

Try removing the account and then adding it again, it may help.
1. In Outlook, on the File menu, click Info > Account Settings > Account Settings
2. Click on the MAPI account and then click Remove
3. Click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the account.
4. Click Close

(THIS CAME FROM ANOTHER WEBSITE BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE OUTLOOK 2010!)

Hope this helps!

Ok before I start, I know I did the stupid - OK - but now I'm trying to figure out whether my stupid is something easily fixed or something I'll have to work harder to get sorted.

Basically I decided to reinstall my Win 7 as I'd quite a few programs with issues and as I always do I backed up everything in relation to Outlook I could find & sadly then added on some new extras - namely Outlook Profiles registry keys. While the site that suggested it stated that it could cause problems if using it on a different setup to the original I didn't feel mine was, as I was basically reinstalling everything as it had been before.

The main key I used was: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles

So once I'd got Outlook initially installed I then installed the Profiles registry key which promptly killed Outlook completely - it couldn't load up without complaining of some error requiring it to close. This was before I'd even copied my .PST files over for it to access, so I figured it most likely was the registry key that was to blame. So as I'd (again stupidly) not backed up the clean Profiles key I figured I'd no option but to try reinstalling. Well, 4 uninstalls/reinstalls later things are certainly better but still really not right.

On the reinstall I didn't have email details to hand so initially set it up without "email support" but now after putting in 4 emails, only one is sending email & none are... Read more

A:How to fix a possible registry error in Outlook 2010?

The problem is getting to those registry keys, and quite possibly a standard uninstall is not doing it. Try an uninstaller such as Wise Program Uninstaller. It might work. If not, see if there's a different prog that writes those keys upon installation.

Another method would be to see if you have a registry backup. This would be via a System Restore point, or manually check in windows\system32\config\regback for files that predate the problem.

We recently updated some office computers from XP to Windows 7.  Office 2010 was reinstalled and everything works fine, except that hyperlinks in Outlook won't go to the browser.  When I click on a hyperlink, I get " This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.  Please contact your system administrator."  I'm the one with administrator rights.  I know I've overlooked something in the setup somewhere but can't figure it out.  This is only an issue in Outlook.
Any help or advice is appreciated.

I'm sorry, it's Office 2007, not that there's much difference.

A:Outlook 2010-error with hyperlinks

The last time I dealt with this problem it was because Google Chrome had become installed, and was set to the default web browser, which alters the registry keys that Microsoft Office uses to determine what to do when you click a hyperlink in Outlook - I don't know if it's a bug, but if Outlook doesn't see Internet Explorer in these locations, it refuses to open the hyperlink.

You could try to set Internet Explorer to your default browser again (even if you didn't know it wasn't) - but that doesn't always work - you may need to uninstall the alternate web browser, and then go into the registry to manually fix the keys.

You can use the steps at this site to fix the registry entries - obviously when working with the registry you may want to may a restore point prior to starting, and of course backup the registry before making changes.

Does someone know where the outlook info is stored. Maybe I can delete that? Any thoughts or suggestions? I need to re start setup somehow. Why can't I. This needs to be fixed so that if something is wrong in setup, the programmer allows you to re enter it rather than totally trash the process and close Outlook thus totally preventing any possible repair.

Please tell me how to disable this! I have office home and student 2010+ outlook 2010. All work great, but since the last updates whenever i open action center there are loads of non critical outlook errors, all the same! I don't know what the error means, I never had them before the updates and I dont want to see them!
I have tried: repair on both office and outlook. Excluding outlook from error reporting, turning error reporting off! they still appear, about every other time outlook is opened. They are all identical! each error is phoned home. I don't want them to be!
Could anyone please tell me how to turn this off! The program works fine for me if MS want to know minor issues they can test the damn program themselves!
Thanks.

Task '[email protected]' - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The message cannot be saved to your IMAP e-mail account Sent Items folder, because Outlook is offline or the e-mail server doesn?t allow items to be saved to the Sent Items folder.'

When I get this error message, my email gets sent but no copy gets put in my sent items folder.

Double-check your account settings to make sure you don't have it set as an IMAP account.

Also, 0x800CCC0F is "The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact the server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)." Check your timeouts and that you can actually ping the mail server. (open a command prompt and type "cmd your.mailserver.com").

I recently downloaded IE9 for my Win7 SP1 system and set it as the default browser. When I open an email in Outlook 2010 and try to access a link to a web site from it. I get a "Class not registered" error. See attached snip. I have tried the 'Fix' found on the web { How to reset Internet Explorer settings) to no success. I then did a repair of Office but still no luck. When I have Firefox as my default browser, any email link opens as it should.

What else do I need to do make Outlook 2010 and IE9 to play together nicely with respect to links in an email?

Thank you very much.

A:Class Not Registered Error In Outlook 2010

That error can mean that while IE is set as your default browser, perhaps it is not set as default for all file types it can handle

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ociations.html

Also make sure HTTP and HTTPS are associated with Internet Explorer

Default Programs - Associate a File Type or Protocol

This fixit is not specific to your error, but it does address outlook hyperlink issues, and is worth trying as well if IE is already default for Outlook.

I am having a very strange and extremely frustrating problem. I have one user that cannot access the Automatic Replies in Outlook 2010. When she tries to access it, she receives the following error:

Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later.

I had another user logon to her computer, and the Automatic Replies worked for him. I also had the original user logon to another computer, and it worked for her on the other computer. So the problem occurs only when she logs onto her computer. These are the things I have tried so far:

Removed her Outlook profile and created a new one
Removed her account on the computer (not her network account), and created a new one
Removed the checkbox to use Cached Mode
Manually set the configuations (username, password, server name)
Repair Outlook

None of the above worked. Also, she was able to use the Out of Office Assistant in Outlook 2003 before being upgraded to Outlook 2010. She is using Windows XP and connects to Exchange Server 2010. Does anyone have any other idea as to what I should try next? Tomorrow I will try removing Outlook and re-installing it if there are no other suggestions. I've been hesitant to do this so far since she uses a Blackberry which synchs with Outlook and it has been difficult to get the synching to work. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I tried to set up my college email (.edu) in recently installed outlook 2010. I did something about Exchange (I don't remember exactly what I did..) when outlook first popped up, and now it won't let me do anything.
When I open outlook, it comes up with the error message: "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. "
I click okay and a box comes up wanting me to enter Microsoft Exchange Server and Mailbox. I try putting my info in but I don't know exactly what to put. If I click okay, an error comes up. "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The file...is not an Outlook data file (.ost)."
I click okay and it completely closes outlook.
I've tried to click file in the main window, but it either doesn't let me or says, "Not Responding."
How do I fix it? Thanks!

One of my PCs is running outlook 2010 and for some reason some (not all) pdfs are getting this error:

This file cannot be previewed because of an error with the following previewer

I tried to just save them to desktop rather than viewing them in outlook but then I get this error:

To open this file in its own program, double click it.

Cannot create file: Individual Credit File.pdf. Right click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click properties on the shortcut menu to check

The pdfs aren't corrupted as the email account is imap and is also setup on another pc and it has no problem opening those pdfs, I also forwarded the email to myself and I was able to open them.

I tried removing the account and re adding it but that made no difference.

I read that this might be some registry error but I tried a few fixes but haven't had any luck.

The first error is suggesting that your mail profile has been deleted or isn't there. Have you had worknig mail on this one before?

Check your mail settings by clicking start>control panel>mail (If you cant see it then search for 'mail' using the search bar at the top right)

When in mail click show profiles and see if there are any listed in there. The default profile is called Default.

Hi, I was wondering if you guys could help me with a problem I have. I downloaded Office 2010 (only installed Outlook 2010) beta about 2 years ago and everything was going fine. Then today I purchased Office Pro 2010 and before installing I removed Outlook 2010 as it told me I must remove it first, then ran the install and everything seem fine until I tried to open Outlook 2010, it keeps coming up with a message that should be in the print screen or attachment, I have no idea what this file is and everytime I try to delete it, it re appears when I try to open Outlook again. I tired to do the set up again and select the repair option but that has not helped, other than that all other Office 2010 applications open fine, could this problem be down to the 2010 Outlook beta?
The attachment called error 1 is what appears when i try to open Outlook, empty file is what comes up when I clik OK, and error2 is what happens when i close everything.
Thanks guys for having a look, and I hope someone can help me with this problem.

A:Outlook 2010 does not open, error about file cannot be found

Your pst file (this is the file that contains all your mail) is most probably located in a different location so outlook doesn't know where it is. Do a search for pst then when outlook asks you where the file is, point it to the correct folder, or you could locate your pst file and then copy/paste it into the "Outlook Files" folder, this way outlook would find it straight away without prompting you for it

I'm unable to open outlook 2010 on a windows 7 64bit system. i don't get any error messages, and i'm able to open other office programs like excel and word. i open task manager and i look under process and i don't see outlook. so i try and open to see if outlook ever appears on the process and it shows for a second and disappears. i try to run a repair on the outlook but repair won't open as well. i'm a bit lost on this and not sure which direction to take. any advice would be very helpful.

A:outlook 2010 won't open and no error message appears

This is possibly due to a faulty installation. This can usually be fixed by a re-installation.

Hope this helps,

Hi All,

I hope I could find some assistance here.
We are running an exchange 2003 server, with windows 7 machines (not ideal I know).

That aside, I am getting a scripting error when opening emails from a single user. This error ONLY appears on one users computer.
So to clarify, this issue only pops up on one users computer, and only occurs when opening an email (even in preview) from another single user.

I have so far:
- Run a repair of office 2010 on the computer that displays the scripting error.
- Removed email signature from the senders computer, in case of problematic fonts (Even though to other users on the domain, this error does not occur when opening emails from this same sender.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and would be more than happy to provide more details as needed.

Thanks in advance all!!
Chris

Outlook 2010, Win7, email account: outlook.com (1 of 2 accounts)

Error code 0x800CCCDD
Protocol: IMAP
Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
Port: 993

Outlook 2010 had 2 functioning email accounts prior to the MS required remove/add of an Outlook.com account due to MS' server change. I used the recommended, automatic add (after the remove) for the Outlook.com account. Outlook.com is now an Exchange account. During the add, there was a message indicating the Exchange account would 'take over', and so it did. Unilaterally it took over the default position--oddly, this despite mail accounts indicating the second (a MAPI account) email account was the default. This was unacceptable.

So I proceeded with MS' second option--a manual add with Outlook.com being an IMAP account not Exchange. This sort of worked. The second account is back again as the default however Outlook.com is persistently and erratically not connecting or losing connection per the above error.

The only fix I've found googling was to uncheck Outlook's mail options to do any kind of automatic send or receive. That seemed to work for a while but the errors are back--just not as frequent.

This error is not present when doing the required Outlook.com remove/add with Outlook 2007 with the same second account that's the default.

Any suggestions?

A:Outlook 2010 error: 0x800CCCDD--IMAP server closed connection

You should be able to set which email account you want as the default one. In Outlook 2013 you can do this by selecting File then Account Settings & on the window that opens you can see which one is the default email account.

On the same line as where there are options for New, Repair, Change there is one to Set as Default. This will be greyed out for the Default Account, but if you click on the other account you will be able to set that as the default account.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem before and/or if anyone has a fix for it? When ever I try and open some JPEGs from email in Outlook 2010 if comes up with this...

The file cannot be previewed because of an error with the following previewer:

Microsoft Outlook image previewer

To open this file in its own program, double click it.

.... I try and open up the file in Windows Photo Viewer and it says;

Windows Photo Viewer can't open this picture because either Photo Viewer doesn't support this file format, or you don't have the latest updates to Photo Viewer.

.... This only happens with some pictures, others are fine, and they're the same format, JPEG. I've tried sending a sample through from hotmail to Outlook and these seem to work fine, its just from other sources that it seems to be temperamental.

I've done a system restore and uninstalled any programs I think maybe conflicting with it, although there wasn't anything that stood out. This problem wasn't there before, it must of appeared within the last couple of weeks but unsure of exact date as some pictures open and some don't.

There doesn't seem to be any updates for the photo viewer or Outlook!?

Any ideas much appreciated?

I recently purchased a new computer that has Office 2010 installed. I would like to move the contents of my .pts file from my old computer which has Outlook 2007 to my new computer which has Outlook 2010. Before, when I wanted to transfer my .pts file from one computer to another I would just copy the file to a portable hard drive and then transfer the file to the other computer. However, Outlook 2010 is completely different animal. When I go to C:, Users, App Data, etc., new computer, it is completely different from my other computer that had Vista. My question is, how can I transfer my .pts file and/or my address book, calendar, contacts, etc. for my older Windows Vista computer that had Outlook 2007, to my new computer that has Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 installed? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

A:Solved: Moving Outlook Messages and Address Book From Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010

Hello referee07;

Copy your .pst file from your old computer to the new one or your portable hard drive.

To launch the Outlook 2010 Export/Import wizard, first go to File menu, navigate to Open, and click Import.

In the Import And Export wizard, select Import from another program or file option and hit Next

Under File Type, select Outlook Data File(.pst) and hit Next

Now choose the file to import, select the options, and hit Next

Once done, finally select the folder to import from(if you want to import complete data don’t change any settings) and make sure Include subfolders is checked. You can either import the file to the current folder or choose the folder.

Hope this helps!

Dave

Good morning everyone,

So the other day something incredibly weird had occurred. I was receiving email normally on my phone, came into work, logged in, and began working on my trouble tickets. I noted that when I went back to Outlook to view an email, the email in particular was gone... and then all were gone. My folders, and emails within them, still remained the same. I attempted to research what on Earth happened but I haven't been able to find anything specific to my issue.

I'm using Outlook 2010 connected to an Exchange 2010 server for work. Outlook was setup as cached exchange mode but that has since been changed. The emails also disappeared from my phone's inbox too... it's as if everything was deleted and Exchange figured that's what it should be and synced everything that way. Deleting my OST didn't resolve or resync anything. I ran the scanpst tool on the ost file which reports 93 errors, but as I read the scanpst tool can't repair an OST and thus doesn't do anything.

Does Outlook have some sort of log that may explain what on Earth happened? I can't find any error messages or any other reasons for what may have happened. My view settings weren't changed, nothing has changed on my end. There is no spyware / malware installed on the PC as far as I can tell. No real issues in the Sync issues folder other than a Forms syncing issue which seems to be related to Exchange needing a patch (but can otherwise be ignored).

A:Outlook 2010 / Exchange 2010 randomly deleted inbox email?

Are you the only person using that Exchange server who has this issue? Check with the IT department to see if they can recover the emails in your mailbox from the server. It's possible they recently did some maintenance on the mail server that caused this issue. That fact that both Outlook and your phone are having this issue points to this being an Exchange server problem, as Outlook uses autodiscover and MAPI while your phone uses ActiveSync to connect to the server.

Do you have access to your email using Outlook Web Access? If so, log in and see if the emails are there. If not, it's definitely a server issue.

If your mail is still on the server, one thing you could try is re-enabling the cached Exchange mode, saving the change, and then restarting Outlook. The last thing to try is to delete the email account profile and recreate it. Make sure to get the proper settings from IT if you don't already have them -- although since you are using Exchange and autodiscover, that's usually just a case of entering your username and password when you recreate it.

I'm running Windows 7 Professional and just upgraded IE from 9 to 11. Afterwards, I observed that Outlook 2010 was not downloading pictures (instead showing red x's) and Excel 2010 embedded internet queries stopped working.
I think I've cornered the problem, but can't seem to fix. I have also observed that IE's temporary internet files (TIF) folder may be missing (Internet Options>Browsing History>Settings>Temporary Internet Files shows nothing under Current Location)
and the allotted disk space is set to zero and cannot be changed. If I input another number (no matter the number), I receive the following error message:
"Please select a value between 8 and 8 for how much disk space Temporary Internet Files may use."
I have tried renaming the following RegEdit keys, but to no avail: Cache and LowCache (both under HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Internet Settings>5.0). They get replaced when IE11 is re-opened.
The actual values within the registry keys are as follows:
Cache>Content>CacheLimit = 8192 (Decimal)
LowCache>Content>CacheLimit = 256000 (Decimal)
This is driving me crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All

Win 7 Prof 32 bit
Office 2010

I've been trying to create a Task in Outlook from a Word Document that I have created on this computer. The idea is that a shortcut to the document is created as an Outlook Task. Click on the shortcut, and voila - there is the document.

The "Create Microsoft Office Task" icon DOES send the document to Outlook as a Shortcut in a Task, however, when I open the task, Outlook says:"Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments: Shortcut to 'document name'."

It's NOT an unsafe attachment; Outlook WILL OPEN this document if I send it as an email attachment. Outlook will open .docx files types.

This is a one person computer...no network, no sharing. And this problem has been driving me crazy. This would be a wonderful feature, if I can get it to work.

Anyone have any ideas what I (or Outlook) are doing wrong?

Thanks for your help
Barb

A:Creating a Task in Outlook 2010 from a Word 2010 Document

I think this will do the job for you:
Add & Create Outlook 2010 Tasks From Word 2010

.

Quote:
You can create a task from Word 2010 document and save it under Outlook 2010 tasks. This feature is by default concealed but you can make it apparent on Quick Access toolbar and use it directly.

In order to use this feature, you need to make this feature apparent on Word 2010 Quick Access Toolbar, head over to Quick Access Toolbar and from small drop down button click More Commands.

You will reach Word Options dialog. Hit drop-down button present beneath the Choose commands and select All Commands. Now scroll-down the list and find Create Microsoft Outlook Task command. Select it and click Add (>>) to show it on Quick Access toolbar pane. Once added, hit OK.

First save the document and then select any portion of the text in the document from which you want to create the task, from Quick Access toolbar, click Outlook task button.

Upon click, it will create Outlook task for the Word document and you will reach Outlook Task dialog where you can set Start and Due date for the task and add more information about it. Save & close the task to view it under Outlook tasks.

When opening task in Outlook 2010, you can also view the document from which it was created from, just double-click the document to open it.

I had a problem with Outlook emails hanging up in the outbox and then sending as many as 14 copies of the same message. I was unable to fix this Using the "Repair" function of the upgrade installation disk (created from the downloaded file). I removed Office completely and tried to reload; however, my disk got corrupted and Outlook is no longer available. Is there a way to recover Outlook without having to purchase it separately? I am using Office Professional Plus 2010 Home Use Program. The email that came with the original download from Digital River states to go to the "Account Management Console" to reload; however, this is on a hard copy and the original email with the link is no longer available. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A:Solved: Outlook 2010 missing from Office Professional Plus 2010

If you downloaded this from Digital River, then you may be able to download it again, contact them and ask.

If you can download the install file again and it works, burn yourself a CD of the downloaded install file.

Also write the keycode on the CD.

A:Cursor Jumping In Windows 7 , outlook 2010 , word 2010

Hi jezrp,

Does the issue occur in other applications such as Notepad? If the issue only occurs in Microsoft Office 2010, you can post a thread on Office 2010 Forums.

However, if the issue occurs in other applications as well, please try the following suggestions to see if the issue can be resolved:

If the issue persists after installing the latest drivers which are compatible with Windows 7, the issue can be caused by the factors including third party software, device driver, touchpad settings, virus or spyware infection.

Please see if the following suggestions can resolve the issue:

-    If the issue occurred after installing certain software or hardware, please remove it to check the result. Or, you can perform System Restore to restore to the date before the issue first occurred.

-    Scan your system using anti-spyware and anti-virus software to confirm the system is clean.

-     Check the touchpad's sensitivity if it is available. You can simply disable the touchpad to test the result. You shall contact the device manufacturer directly to confirm the settings.

-    Use a mouse pad for better mouse performance.

-    Replace the mouse and check the result.

Regards,
Linda
