I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Wondering what is the best monitoring gadget available to keep track of the temperature for CPU, GPU and HDD, as well as fan speed? Also what are the decent threshold to be set as to trigger alert as system approaching "dangerous" hazardous level? Thanks

A:Gadget or free software to monitor temperature of ...

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
Probably the two best free gadgets I can think of are Speed Fan and HWMonitor.
HWMonitor offers a very detailed over view of how your system is running.  It comes in two versions. The first installs on your computer.  The second is a portable version that can be installed on a flash drive.  The downside is that HWMonitor doesn't have a notification in the SysTray for monitoring, but it does keep track of the minimum and maximum values.
Speed Fan had similar features as HWMonitor, but offers the additional features of SysTray monitoring and the ability to change the preset thresholds for maximum warnings.  Speed Fan also has the ability to adjust fan speeds, but I'm not sure if that option is available with your computer.
Download HWMonitor here...
Speed Fan can be downloaded here.....
Please keep in mind that both these applications are dependent on your system's sensors supporting such features.  I'm not an owner of your model so I can say for sure they will work entirely as expected.

SViewPro no longer tracks my CPU temperature, and the BIOS cannot help me when I am trying to check while running the game...I would like to either figure out why SViewPro is not detecting my CPU temp or try a different program (though I payed for this one.) If this is the wrong thread, I did not know where else to put it.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

I am thinking about installing a program to monitor my CPU Temps, and I wanted to solicit some opinions.

I see there are a handful of freeware utilities that claim to do this.
Do these programs use more resources than they're worth, and are they beneficial? I do have Norton System Works, that can monitor my system, however, I don't recall if it monitors temps. I also understand the monitoring option is a huge resource hog.

I am looking for just a basic temp monitoring utility, not so much a full motherboard monitor. One that has alarms that can be set.

This is one I am considering: http://www.webattack.com/get/mbm.shtml However this has more than I need.

Any suggestions as to a program, preferably freeware, but anything else will be great too.

Thanks for your time!

A:Temperature monitor

Hi Lordoftheweb,

Speedfan v4.28 is about as good as it gets. What do you mean by too large? The memory footprint is only about 1700-2500 KB which is smaller than most applications.

I just move my mouse cursor over the system tray displayed temp and it displays all of the temps - that does not require you to maximize the window which is about the same size as the task manager window (if that's what you mean by too big when enlarged).

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a temperature monitor that would display the highest temp of my components (CPU/GPU) in the system tray. I have an old HP Pavilion DV7-1130eg that had faulty and overheating NVidia graphics cards (it's at 64?C now and I have only Chrome with 8 tabs, Skype and Steam open). So I have to monitor my temperatures. I was using CoreTemp and it is great! It display the highest temperature of my CPU Cores (so if Core1 has 50?C and Core2 has 54?C, it only display Core2's 54?C) and that was awesome and it saves space. But it doesn't monitor my GPU, only the CPU (it also doesn't monitor the HDD, but that stays cool most of the time so it doesn't matter that much). And one time I was setting up Razer/IOBit Game Booster to boost my gaming performance and it showed that my GPU was at 94?C! If I remember correctly, Windows shuts down if anything is above 100?C because the heat will damage the components. My CPU cores were at around 70?C so if this would happen outside a game, where I would see my taskbar, CoreTemp wouldn't show the hight temp of my GPU, only CPU so I wouldn't even know that my GPU is killing itself. So my perfect temp monitor would:
-monitor CPU and GPU temps
-and would display the highest temp of them in the system tray
It would be nice if it would also change fan speed when overheating but even SpeedFan doesn't detect my fan, don't know why...
Is there something like that?

I found this great freeware that monitors temperature and controls your pc fans. its called SpeedFan it also has lots more useful powerful tools. Im currently using it and love it its keeping my pc cooler than it was when the computer its self was controlling the fans. and you can set the max rpm's that the fans spin at and you can also set the speed of the fan manually. you can run it at 0% (stopped) to 100% (max speed) or have the software do it automatically.Note: Be sure to open the manual and click on First look and keep reading from there then click on the links at the bottom of the pages when done reading for a quick start on controlling your computer fans.

My monitor, a sony tinitron 21" multiscan G520 crt, is driving me up the wall. After it's been on for about 30 mins or more, the color temperature changes. White, for example, flickers from white to beige to ecru, and it never fails to irritate me. What's more, the control buttons at the front don't respond anymore.

I'll be using this monitor for video editing so I can't tolerate this problem. It doesn't happen with my other 14" AOC monitor so I have a feeling this monitor is the one to blame and not the video card.

I already brought it to the repair center and they didn't find anything wrong with it. I'm guessing they didn't have it on long enough for them to see the problem. Please, can someone tell me what's wrong with it and how I can fix it?

A:color temperature of monitor changes

Yeah I'd guess it has something to do with heat buildup but the monitor most likely has other problems as well or it wouldn't happen. You could try putting a room fan next to it blowing through the monitor to see if it still happens but that would just let you know for sure it is heat.
Most monitors these days aren't worth fixing as the cost of a repair is as much as a new one if not more. I think it is time to get another one. I know, $$$. Wait around and see if anyone else has any ideas.
I am assuming you have it set in a position where it can get airflow and you have nothing sitting on top of it or blocking any of the holes, no magnets around it etc.

Hi I suspect this computer is having heating problems. The cpu cooling fan is running full tilt and I cannot feel much heat in the air after it exits the cpu cooling fins.

This computer seems to be crashing with no obvious reason, we just find it after the fact sitting there with the little cntl alt del box floating around waiting for someone to log in.

Nothing is showing up in the event logs that I can see.

It has a sister computer which runs the exact same programs but whose fan does not run full speed and you can feel warm air after the cpu.

Well when I see that screen it is reporting good temps, around 50C.

So, is this a problem with MBM, or am I having probs with my machine?

This is the error recorded in the log.

Good evening everyone, I am looking for recommendations on a decent temperature/fan speed monitoring program to use, preferably with the following attributes:1. Ease of use (user-friendly interface & simple-to-understand instructions).2. Free software (preferred, but will consider a paid program - if not expensive).3. * A program which has a low probability of causing any damage to, or significant problems with my computer. Also, it doesn't matter if the application has the ability to change the fan speed. I intend to leave that the way it currently is set.* The reason for question # 3 is because the info I read about one particular program had a disclaimer stating the provider "could not be held responsible if their software caused any damage or other computer problems."Thank you for your time and any suggestions! (sorry, frustrated! as i'm sure everyone else has been also!)  next thing i know browser changed, adds popup, redirected to their webpages in the middle of work and all work lost.  finally figured out where and who this came from, but cannot uninstall in programs and features.  gives me a list of programs and etc(?) that has to be closed first, unable, told to do manually, still unable but then microsoft flashes message that critical error occured and has to shut down.  i've run scans of everything i can think of and nothing.  tried fixes, support, and so lost i dont remember what im trying to do at times.
my goals:  1) remove this adware  2) turn windows defender on  3) try to reinstall adaptors: microsoft Tun miniport adaptor, and microsoft 6to4 adaptor #2.    without crashing my computer completely!
