Q: Will there be new Yoga 920 (Yoga 930?) coming up in a few weeks?

Hello, I read that Yoga 920 was released at IFA last year. IFA this year is from 31 Aug to 5 Sept. Will a new version of Yoga 920 (perhaps Yoga 930?) be released?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

HelloI can see posts on the forum about cracked screen after a month use.  Mine cracked after 5 weeks use. I would say that I am a careful user and that this is my third Lenovo laptop; never had any issue with my previous 2.A post on the forum says that he/she got it fixed via warranty. However when  I go to the Lenovo site and navigate through the "create a Service Request", it immediately says that it is not covered under warranty. What to do?Thank youjaykb

Hi All,3 weeks ago I was between the Yoga 900 with 16 GB ram and the X360 Spectre with only 8 GB. Then I was shure to buy the right notebook with the Yoga 900. Positive-Design-Flexibility-Touchscreen feedback Negative-Mouse/Touchpad (the two finger option as right click never worked, and the right click itself is only via usb mouse or via touch possible, the touchpad of my yoga does not work from beginning)-the screen flares sometimes after opening the notebook-the reaction after reopening the notebook is very slow and sometime fast enough-the battery life could be better But NO right click...!!!! Has anyone the same issue? I have reinstalled the drivers, i have checked and unchecked every option - really dissatisfying. I am an IT professionall and I don't get the problem - now I have to finish first my study (1 month to go), afterwards I will send my yoga to Lenovo! Cheers

Greetings,I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 900 in late December 2015 from their website. I immediately registered it on Lenovo.com using the "detect my serial number" feature. Overall it served well for 4 months. Then it did not turn on, or respond to charging. I then contacted the company to conduct a repair. Here's just how bad it is: 1. Self detect of serial number incorrectly identified the machine as something else (later to be determined a thinkpad, not ideapad product -- nowhere anywhere on the Yoga 900 does it say what it is).2. I submitted a service ticket using the only Serial Number that I had registered with the account with explicit notice that the SN was incorrect. They sent me a mailer in a day. This was 19 May 2016 3. On May 25t (day 6) I tried to contact the company. This was not particularly easy. A nice person was on the phone and stated that they had no idea where my laptop was.4. May 31st. Called again and was transferred around. Still no idea where laptop was. After about 1.5 hours on the phone a nice woman located it for me. Wrong city--apparently it's at the Thinkpad shop, not the Ideapad shop...Again, Lenovo sent me a shipping ticket and a box, so I had no idea this was incorrect. I received a telephone number and a case ID from this helpful person, with an indication that on June 3rd, the computer would be diagnosed (it was memorial weekend). Also that my case was flagged as "variance" to their statistics for return time for service....5. June 3-8... Read more

A:Yoga 900 dead -- 4 weeks and counting

I have this problem too, and this is my second Yoga 900 with "dead" issues!  Except, the first time it occurred, I was able to get a replacement becuase it "died" within one month of the date of purchase.  Boy, am I regretting this now!! So far, my issue is 2 weeks and counting, with no call back from Lenovo.  The last time that I called (yesterday, on 6/16/16) they told me that someone would be coming out to service me, but that they were awaiting a "mother board"....????? Red flags all over the place.  I empathize with you and have just contaced CNET,  and also plan on making a bit of noise at home office  (my colleage's spouse knows a few big wigs at Lenovo).  I'm truely sorry that you are experiencing this as well chrisheider.  Please post with your ongoing status, this is a nightmare!!!!

Hello, My laptop is a brand new (I've only had it for 1 month) and I left it unplugged for a 2 weeks business trip. I've come home now to find the laptop is not turning on or making any sounds. I know for a fact it hasn't been dropped or anything of the sort since no one was at the house for those 2 weeks and we have no pets that can mess around with it. Any ideas what it can be? Thank you!

Some want another for the home office desk, etc. -  the charger and the cable/tip on the yoga 900 and 700 are NOT available for order/ship in a reasonable time??? Forgetting about the convience an executive or most anyone wants whom can afford $1300 to $1500 for one of these, what happens if dog chews the cable? (laptop diues for 5 + weeks ?)  Lenovo, or anyone, please help !!!!!

A:yoga 900- how can i get a spare charger and cable in less than 5+weeks that the web site says? !!!!

Me too - I cannot even find a place to order a spare.  I have a 900 and based on that encouraged my son to get 710 - his cable's been mislaid and he's scuppered without it.  So wish I'd got him another product. I too want one for home and one for work.  Come on Lenovo sot out this  problem.  asap.  This experience has left me feeling unable to recommend this product to anyone else.

At CES 2018, Lenovo announced the new 3rd Gen Thinkpad X1 Yoga and said it would be available in January 2018. The Lenovo website still shows "coming soon," and has for over 3 weeks now. Am I missing some more recent announcement about timing? Our IT staff said they contacted Lenovo and the rep said Q1 or Q2, 2018.That will be a long, long time to say "coming soon!" Is there a chance there will be such a long delay? Is it likely because of the Intel patches?

Earlier today I was trying to remove the back of my Lenovo Yoga 700 (14 inch model).  I removed all the screws, and followed the hardware maintenance manual.  When I got to prying the thing off, the left, right, and back (near the fan) sides popped off with relative ease.  However, the front end (the side opposite the fan) would not come off.  I tried using a small flathead screwdriver to pry it off, but I was worried about it cracking.  I decided to just screw the backplate back on and not mess with it any more.  This is where my problem arises.  The backplate won't re-seat properly because of a standoff that keeps the SSD in place.  I  didn't notice it until this morning, but there is a slight bowing in the chassis.  I know I need to fully remove the backplate to re-seat it properly, but I don't want to break anything.  What should I do?

I have a new Yoga 710. I have just noticed a faint ticking noise coming from the right-hand vent under the screen. When I say ticking, it is a softer sound than a click, a bit like a mellow kitchen clock. The tick sticks pretty close to 1 Hz (as far as I can measure it with my ear and a metronome). I looked for a software tool to monitor the fan speed but I couldn't find one that worked on this model of computer. I hear a fan starting up sometimes, but I have read (tell me if I'm wrong) that this model has two fans, so I'm not really sure how to measure the health of the other fan. My question is: Is this a hardware problem that will require me to mail the computer back to the retailer, or is it some other problem, such as the BIOS issue mentioned here in relation to an earlier Yoga model?

I have a thinkpad yoga 14 with the 5th gen intel processor (if it matters)My problem is that the left click button that you use with the track ball, not the actual touch pad, is not coming back up. It still registers a click but it doesnt come back up. Sometimes it doesn't "unclick" so when I drag the cursor, it higihlights everything on the screen. This is a hardware issue, I was wondering if anyone knows what the button mechanism looks like or know which part to replace? thank you in advance!

This is not the first time this has happened, where having opened the laptop to tablet mode, a cable appears to have come loose. This means that the laptop no longer recognises that the laptop is back to laptop mode, so it doesn't reactivate the keyboard. Lenovo last time fixed this saying it was a fault with the assembly, but it has happened again, this time out of the 12 month warranty, and 3 months since it last happened. I really expected better quality of manufacture and the repair seems to have been very poor. This is my work laptop and the only computer I got, and any time spent without it is crippling to my work. I am currently using an external keyboard, which means working on the move is very inconvenient. I have a YOGA 51014ISK Is there a way for me to ask Lenovo to fix their repair mistake? I seem unable to find a proper way to contact/complain regarding this. I am not happy that I have to pay for repairs again for the exact same issue so quickly after the last "fix".  Otherwise, is there a repair guide I can follow to fix this myself? I didn't see one, and I'll need to reconnect the keyboard wire inside. Thanks for your time.

I've seen a few people mention that the paint coming off around edges. I thought I didn't have this on my unit, but after seven months with this machine it turns out I've lost a lot of paint around the ports. Just so others have a data point, here's a picture of the left edge of my X1Y3. It's not a good look.  One lesson is that I clearly need to be more careful when inserting connectors. But also, the wear around the lower edge is not from sharp USB connectors, it seems that the paint delaminated simply from putting the system in my bag. That shouldn't happen.   I think it's fair to say that this is a disadvantage of using coated metal for these machines: you won't see anything like this on say a Surface Book, at worst you'll see a scatch on the metallic body. I'm pretty sure that Lenovo considers the picture below 'normal wear', but I think we can all agree that it doesn't look very professional.

Like stated in the description. the Lenovo Yoga Control Service require 3% out of the CPU, all the time. and the only thing the service does is checking the orientation of the screen, and disable keyboard and mouse when flipped. This is absurd, especially since it drains battery constantly. I hope that this will be fixed eventually, until that time, I will turn the service off and use the computer like a regular laptop.

I've recently (13th of April) bought new Yoga 530-14IKB. It has adequate CPU i3-8130U, which is faster than i5-6200U in my sister's Acer laptop, but I anyway don't play any games. Despite that, its battery life isn't good. It works about 3-3,5 hours in Chrome. In task manager I've noticed that Yoga Mode Control is constantly using 15-30% CPU and its battery usage is described as very high. After disabling it, I can't switch to the tablet mode and keyboard and touchpad don't turn off. Is there somebody who has Yoga laptop and experience similar problem?

I own a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga (1st gen as a Yoga; 4th gen as a Carbon), Product 20FQCTO1WW. Starting two days ago, it randomly reboots. The event log shows that it has had an unexpected reboot ("The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."), but reading the events leading up to the reboot doesn't give me much of a clue as to why. The only interesting events are messages that a core of the CPU is being throttled ("The speed of processor X in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report."). I took the bottom cover off and agressively blew compressed air in every crevice. This did remove some dust buildup, but the system wasn't as dirty as I expected. In fact, it looked pretty clean. I also vaccuumed. And I removed the fan and thermal heatsink and throughly blew compressed air through it and made sure that there was no gunk clogging the heatsink air fins. After reassembling, it seems to be slightly more stable, but it has still rebooted a few times. There are lots of threads where people complain about fan noise and ask how they can reduce the speed of their fan. I'd like to run mine at max 100% of the time (noise be darned) for a few days just to see if that keeps the system from randomly rebooting. However, I don't know of a sofware setting where I can control... Read more

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

Disclaimer: I received the Yoga 920 as a review loaner unit from Lenovo. All opinions are my own, nobody is paying for my review, and no one is reviewing this content before it's posted.

On the surface, both the Yoga 910 and Yoga 920 look nearly identical, but in my testing, I prefer one over the other. Let's dig deeper to see the differences between the two!To get this out of the way, both machines have 1TB PCIe storage, 16GB memory, and the Yoga 910 has the 7th gen i7-7550U processor, and the Yoga 920 has the 8th gen i7-8550U processor.

Hardware & Design
Both the Yoga 910 and Yoga 920 are built out of aluminum, which gives them a high quality feel to them.  Both laptops have the keyboard integrated into the chassis, which means less keyboard flex. One thing that I find better in the Yoga 920 is the fact that it's all smooth edges around.  The Yoga 910 has pretty sharp edges which means you could scratch your surface or yourself.  The sharp edges of the Yoga 910 was a common complaint, and I'm glad they rectified it.

The Yoga 920 also has a little slit on the display lid that makes it much easier to open the lap... Read more

Hello All, I have an issue with my YOGA 700 laptop when logged in multiple accounts simultaneously. Whenever an account is left logged on and the user is switched as opposed to logging off, the cpu usage ramps up very high with several RUNDLL32 processes being the culprit. I have checked the RUNDLL32 processes with Process Explorer and the command line are as follows:C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\EnableAutoRotation.dll,RunCustomMonitor The directory is as follows: C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\ The only solution I have found is restarting the laptop. The problems comes back when again more than one user is logged in. Also, the rundll32 processes only run high cpu on one account at a time and there doesn't seem to be a preference for a specific account, all of them are plagued one at a time with the problem. Disabling the Yoga Mode Control service is a fix but that breaks the mode control which is essential in this laptop. I have tried installing all the available software on the Software page foor the YOGA 700. The rundll32 processes drain the battery very fast and I can't always log off other users when they have apps open!  I have posted a screenshot of process explorer showing 2 rundll32.exe processes using 25% cpu usage each. However, sometimes up to 4 rundll32.exe processes open up and they use combined 100% cpu usage, which makes the laptop run very hot and slow. In t... Read more

Hello all, Got my X1Y3 in a few days ago and I'm very pleased with the screen on the machine as well as battery life and easy type c charging compared to my old X1Y1. However, I have noticed one thing, the audio options (sample rate and bit depth) are about as basic as can be on the X1Y3 compared to my X1Y1. Anyone else notice this or do I perhaps have something limited by my audio settings? I tried looking up the spec sheet for this machine and see nothing mentioned, but looking under sound options in the control panel the max I can do is 24bit/48Khz, the only other option is 16bit/48Khz. Recording only has a signle option of 16bit/48Khz. If this is by design, I'm really disappointed in taking the hit to adio quality from one generation to the next.  For example, my original X1Y1 can do 24bit/192Khz at the maximum for playback and 24bit/96Khz for recording. Software is fully up to date through vantage, and I just installed the october update (much to my reluctance since I had to hit the update button to do it and risk the wrath of the microsoft insider program).  Thr PSREF spec sheets on lenovos website for the Y1Y3 list the chich as Realtek ALC3286, but no specs for bit depth or sampling rate for the machine. Additionally, I can't find any information on this chip online besides sellers inadvertently listing it in thier specs for X1Y3s for sale. It sounds like I might be resigned to carrying around a highres dac or end up praying for LDAC ... They sent it back with a report that it is fully operable. Since then, I have a wedge in my notebook case and all I have to do is put it under my notebook if I use it. Now I know which brand not to buy next time.

Hello!I am trying to find out if DisplayPort is supported on the following two models: - Yoga 710-14IKB (80V4003LMX)- Yoga 900S-12ISK (80ML000RMX) I need to drive UHD TVs (4K at 60fps) and various high resolution displays using DisplayPort (HDMI 1.4 only supports 4K at low refresh rates).  It seems to be difficult find out looking through the documentation provided by Lenovo. I have come across some info though: Yoga 710-14IKB:The documentation on  http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/yoga/700-series/yoga-710-14/#80V4000GUS under "Ports" states that: "Micro HDMI?""DisplayPort? (combo with HDMI?)" This indeed seems to indicate that DisplayPort is supported, but I cannot find any info on how this works. - Is DisplayPort supported by the Yoga 710?- If so, what kind of adapter is needed, and where can this be found? Yoga 900S-12ISK:This machine has an USB-C "USB 3.0 port with Video-out". I have found a Lenovo USB-C to HDMI Adaptor-NA (GX90K37871):    https://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-usb-c-to-hdmi-adapter-external-video-adapter/specs/but so far I have not seen any USB-C to DisplayPort adapter from Lenovo. When an USB-C port has video capabilities, it is usually DisplayPort available (I have seen reviews of Yoga 900S that this actually is the case for the Yoga 900S. - Is DisplayPort supported by the Yoga 900s?- If so, what kind of adapter is needed, and where can this be found?&n... Disclosure:  I received these laptops from Lenovo as part of their advocacy program, so huge thanks to the folks over at Lenovo. I don't receive compensation for my review, and as always, all opinions are my own.

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga is first modern ThinkPad that I've ever owned.  I?ve been using Lenovo?s Ideapad lineup for a very long time, and while I?ve used ThinkPads in the past, the X1 Yoga will be my first personal ThinkPad that I own.  So how does it stack up to the Yoga 910?  Let?s find out! I have the i7 UHD model of the Yoga 910 and the i5 FHD model of the ThinkPad X1 Yoga.  I tried out the latest Yoga 920, but I haven?t tried the latest X1 Yoga yet? hopefully, I will!

Hardware & Design
Even though both laptops carry ?yoga? in their name, the hardware behind them is vastly different.  The ThinkPad X1 Yoga has the classic ThinkPad black design, which is made of a carbon-fiber hybrid for the top cover and a magnesium-PPS hybrid for the bottom cover.  The Yoga 910 has a similar design from the Lenovo?s Yoga lineup, with an aluminum build throughout.

The ThinkPad only comes in two colors: classic black and silver; whereas the Yoga has a whole suite of colors to choose from, such as silver, copper, bronze, and even a few exclusive designs, such as the Vibe designs for the Yoga 920 and the Star Wars themed designs for the Yoga 910.

I have a S3 Yoga 14 with i5-4210U Haswell CPU & GeForce 840M (Model# 20DM000VUS). I've searched and searched for any solution to upgrade the memory to 16GB, but seems only the Broadwell version can...so I'm stuck with 8GB.  I already upgraded to a 1TB Evo 850 SSD which did boost overall speed a lot, but running out of memory all the time is driving me nuts. So my question is, is it possible to swap out the whole motherboard to a i5-5200U Broadwell version without any HW/SW conflict issues so I could upgrade to 16GB?  Or can you only swap for the exact same MB?  It'd be a lot cheaper than buying a whole new Yoga w/dedicated graphics such as the P40 and way less hassle as long as I wouldn't need to reinstall Windows and everything. Thanks!
