Preferred Solution: ATA Center wont start error 1067

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am running Windows XP Home SP3 on a Lenovo SL500.
The laptop suddenly stopped connecting to the internet (stuck on acquiring network address). Then suddenly sound stopped working (even though I have the correct drivers installed).
I have tried the following:
1) going to the previous working version - no luck
2) I went to services.msc and found the DHCP client won't start. When I try to force start it, it gives me error 1067. ipconfig gives an error saying "an internal error has occurred. the system cannot find the file specified". I have no idea what file this is. Also, in services.msc when I restart windows audio to get sound back, it starts and then stops again. I also noticed other services like Wireless Zero that should be running are stopped. When I turn them on, they stay on for a short while before stopping automatically.
3) I ran winsockxpfix.exe, sfc.exe /scannow - no luck
4) I did a registry clean - no luck
5) I did a repair install of Windows again and still no luck.
Does anyone have any clue what's wrong and how I can fix this? I don't want to have to format and do a fresh install if possible.
Thank You.

Try running these at a command prompt restarting after each to see if DHCP will start.  Make sure you have your XP CD handy for the second.

Hello! This is my first time asking for help; thank you for your time.

I have an Asus N550JV laptop with windows 8. It has been working great the last year, but after a recent windows update, my audio completely stopped working. After running the troubleshooter, it stated the following:

One or more audio service isn't running
Not fixed

Both the Windows Audio and the Windows Audio End Point Builder services must be running for audio to work correctly. Atleast one of these services isn't running.

After doing some research, I was able to view the local services running on my laptop. I found that Windows Audio Endpoint Builder is running, but Windows Audio is not. When trying to start Windows Audio, I got the following messgae:

Windows could not start the Windows Audio service on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

How do I get my audio back? I have Online Lectures I need to watch for school, so any help would be great! Thank you for your time

A:Windows Audio Service will not start, error 1067

Do you have a System Restore point that is BEFORE the last update?

Sadly, you may have to do a reinstall or if you have a backup a restore from the backup. My Windows 8.1 was corrupted by the last update (my suspicion). Fortunately I had a recent full backup and restored from the backup.

I have recently installed Windows 7 on my new computer. My sound drivers are all up to date, and the Device Manager knows they are there and working. However, the Volume Adjuster has the speaker with the red and white cross, and when the audio troubleshooter pops up, it does nothing to fix the problem, just acknowledges that there is one...

So, I looked up solutions, and was told to enable the Windows Audio service. I tried, and got a 1067 Error (Unexpectedly terminated). I have started, and successfully run, all of the dependencies, yet Windows Audio still won't run. I ran the 'sfc /scannow' as I was told that might work, but no luck. I also uninstalled and reinstalled my audio driver numerous amounts of times, still no luck. I'm running out of options, so I came here.

Please, any help would be appreciated.

WLAN AutoConfig service gives error 1067 when trying to start it.

What I've tried:

Reset winsock settings
Ran SFC /scannow
Did system restore
Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers

I tried all of these in normal mode AND in safe mode. None of it worked.

Then i thought the service dll (C:\Windows\system32\wlansvc.dll) itself might have been damaged/outdated, so I decided to delete it and put a new one from donor pc. NOPE.
It wouldn't give me access to the file. No matter what i tried, safe mode, unlocker tools, auto rename it on startup, doing everything in administrator or even messing with permissions under file properties. It just wouldn't give me access to the file.

Wi-Fi was working smoothly few days ago and i literally have no idea why it stopped working.

Windows 7 Professional 32-bit

Any idea how to fix it? Thanks in advance

I purchased a Netgear Push2TV PTV3000, and updated the firmware, downloaded the latest Intel WiDi, and tried to connect. The search for WiDi adapters found the PTV3000, so I double-clicked to install it. Add a Device ran, but could not find the PTV3000.
Searching the Web I found I needed to insure WiDiApp and Wireless PAN DHCP Server were allowed through the firewall. I found that the WiDiApp was listed in, and allowed through the firewall. I could not find any mention of Wireless PAN DHCP Server in the firewall.
I found the entry in Services, and it was listed as Manual. I set it to Automatic and tried to Start the service. I received an Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.  I am running Windows 8 on a Sony SVS15118FXB.
As a possibly associated issue, since I believe Bluetooth also uses the Wireless PAN DHCP Server, I cannot get Bluetooth to function on the same computer. Attempts to connect Sony Bluetooth speakers also fail.  Maybe the same issue?
Any help would be most appreciated...

Hi, I have an issue with ATA 1.7.

I have deployed ATA in my lab environment (VMware ESXi) but the ATA GATEWAY service keeps on Starting. When I manually tried to restart, it showed an error:

Windows could not start the Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics Gateway service on Local Computer.Error 1067: The Process terminated unexpectedly.

Then, I tried to deployed my lab in my laptop (2 VMs / VMWARE Workstation) and ATA works fine. These same VMs don't work on ESX, the network configuration is good but error 1067 again

Is there some special prerequisites/configuration on ESX ?

OK, I'm going to assume that Media Center does open, but when you click "live tv" you get the "CANNOT START WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER" error?

Look in device manager to see if the tuner card is working properly, also try updating/reinstalling the latest drivers for the tuner card.

Also, can you play other media in Media Center? DVD, music, other stuff? If so, it may be just a problem with the tuner card.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Security Center won't start automatically on startup. Also the Windows firewall cannot be started and I get the error message "Due to an unidentified problem Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings". I can reset the firewall through cmd.exe but when I restart my computer everything is lost and I have to start over again. I had a virus problem which started all this and after using Symantec Antivirus, Spy Bot and Ad-Aware my computer appears to be clean but the problems still exist. I'm using Windows XP. I have the following specs:
Motherboard: Intel D865PERL
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2,4 Ghz "Northwood"
GFX: Asus V9999 nvidia Geforce 6800 GT 128 mb
Memory: Some standard ram or something, 512 mb

Recently, I downloaded Intel Desktop Control Center (IDCC). I read that I could use it to clock, and became interested. You can read more about it here: intel.com/design/motherbd/software/dcc/ After I installed the program I just browsed through the menus and didn't changed any configurations (at least I thought so). But when I was going to exit the program I got the message "Your PC must be restarted...." I did so, and began to wonder why it was necessary, since I didn't change anything. Later I realised that I must had changed some configurations.

When the PC was about to start again, the screen didn't respond. The pc wouldn't start. I heard some noise from the pc, but nothing really happened. The pc was actually running, but nothing happened .
I checked if there were any problems with gfx card or the screen, but I don't think it was. When I had the sound on, I couldn't hear the known Windows sound when I was starting Win XP after a while.

Fans and stuffs like that are working properly.

What the **** shall I do? It's quite frustrating when the PC won't start. I don't know where the problem is.
I hope some of you have experiences with IDCC or any problems like this and may help me.

This is my 1st post in bleeping computers. This is the second time I am facing this issue. My windows security center wont turn on. I followed few Microsoft articles and tried registry fix, still no fix!!! I contacted my computer manufacturer tech support and complete OS reinstallation was done. This is the second time I had to do a factory reset on my computer. I still don't have an answer why this happened and what caused this issue. I suspected virus and ran trojan remover, malwarebytes, super anti, hitmanpro and my antivirus program McAfee. No virus found. But still my security center was disabled. I finally gave up and contacted my computer's tech support and they informed most of my computer's windows files were corrupt and they could not start windows services like windows firewall were not working and suggested me factory reset. I want to know what caused this issue and what should I do to avoid this issue in future. Is there a software or scan that can fix this issue without having to do OSRI? Could I have tried something before doing factory reset?

Have you tried uninstalling the printer software for the Lenovo?  You may have to go into Regedit to the following key, to delete the printer from the Registry, if it does not remove when you uninstall the software HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers
Sometimes updates for Windows cause problems, other times it is the mfg of the product, that screws things up.  There is no really easy fix, when it comes to fixing printer or scanner issues.

Hello people who read this,

Note: I am Dutch and my English is not that good.

I got an error from Windows right after a BSOD that Windows unexpectedly closed. Happened 100+ times on my computer, nothing new, seems unsolvable and I could not find a solution for it.
Windows sent me a message that it found a solution for the BSOD. "There is probably a problem with your RAM.". I runned a scan and it hasn't found anything.
When I opened the solution for the millionth time or something, I discovered a button and clicked it. This was the first time I saw the word "Superfetch".
I thought it was just nothing and went on with whatever I did on my computer.

Lately I was thinking that Superfetch could be the thing that keeps 'BSODing' my computer.
I did some research on Google and have found out that the service is called SysMain and a related folder Prefetch. I also found out how to start Superfetch.

When I started it I got this error where it's all about in this thread (it's in Dutch):

Can not start the Superfetch-service on Local Computer.

Error 1067: The service unexpectedly ended.

I Googled it many times in different ways, but I was not able to find anything about this problem.

So my question is: What does 'Error 1067' mean and how can I solve it?
Do not worry about the BSOD thing, I got an other thread for that .

Hey all. First time here but having a problem with my XP SP2.

Hi, I have a laptop with Windows Vista, and I recently had to remove the FBI Moneypak Virus, so I don't know if this might have had anything to do with my not being able to get Security Center to start.

I've looked online for the solutions and tried a couple of things.

I've checked Security Center under Services and couldn't get it started. I get 1068 Error, I check under Properties for Dependencies and it's blank.

I ran a System File check and it was repaired successfully.

I don't know what else to check.

I have a Windows 7 machine that is having an issue with Security Center. It had a small amount of PUP and Trojan Variants, but I took care of them.

However, the Trojans must have ran as Security Center has stopped working out of nowhere.

I get error 1068 when trying to boot WSCVM through the Services tab. Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is running and booted, whereas Windows Management Instrumentation, will not boot or run.

Any ideas on what to do here? Would this REGFix file do the trick?

Windows Security Center Service has been removed - Microsoft Community Is that safe to use?

A:[SOLVED] Windows Security Center Can't Start - Error 1068

Hi, net helpmsg 1068 at the prompt returns:-

The dependency service or group failed to start.

The fix in your post is to replace the registry service entry for Wscsvc (security centre) it does not appear that this is needed. We need to look at the dependencies.

I note you say WMI will not start.

We need to see more of your services open a cmd as admin and run the following in red:-

echo > 0 & sc qc Winmgmt >> 0 & sc queryex Winmgmt>> 0 & sc qc Dcomlaunch >> 0 & sc queryex DcomLaunch >> echo >> 0 & notepad 0
press enter

Next run:- Net start > 0 & notepad 0 press enter

Please post the notepad outcome's here.

I had trouble updating the MSE definitions a couple of days ago and I tried everything to get it to update, something about no connection. I gave up and uninstalled MSE completely using Revo. From Microsoft's web site, I downloaded and installed the newest version of MSE and the definitions updated just fine. Finally, the action center red flag is gone. However, a couple of days later, an alert comes back. This time, it's notifying me that Windows Security Center Service is turned off. With the Action Center open, I clicked "turn on now" but nothing happens, Security Center remains off.
I go to Run-services.msc and scroll down to Security Center and double click on it. Service status says "stopped". I click start and get the message, "Windows could not start the Security Center Service on local computer. Error 5: Access is denied.
This is all done from an administrator account.
Why wasn't I able to update MSE definitions and why, after a reinstall of a perfectly working MSE, am I now unable to turn on Security Center Services?

I have been experiencing the subject-mentioned problem with my laptop since yesterday, along with a few other issues most likely stemming from it. There have already been a few attempts to resolve it, ones I will explain in a bit, but a lot of my searches yield final solutions recommending reinstallation of Windows 7. As that solution is certainly a last resort for me, I decided to seek help on here, especially since my computer has done something unexpected in the past hour. Anyway, to begin with:
Computer specs:
HP Pavilion m6-1045dx (I've had it since August 2012)
Windows edition: Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1
64-bit Operating System
Processor: i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz
Ram: 8.00 GB
Summary of past day, with problems bolded:
My computer was last working properly about 23 hours ago when I was using it to browse the internet and study. Both Chrome [open with about 11 tabs] and Firefox remained open from start to finish of that usage. However, they were mainly in the background as I was studying more and, therefore, switching between folders, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Reader. I would also like to note my internet connection was provided by using my university's campus network. This specific network does require a campus login unlike another campus network, but I still believe it to be a factor in the events to follow. Anyway, before putting my laptop away, I last recall putting it to sleep by pressing the power button. I am a bit worri... Read more

I am using Windows 7 Home Basic 32 bit.Realtime Protection: Panda Cloud AV, Windows Firewall, Windows Defender, Winpatrol Plus, Sandboxie and No Autorun. The problem started after I uninstalled 3 other resident products.1. MSE 2 beta2. MBAM Pro3. Trend Micro Web Protection Add-on.I got the error in Action Center.I went to services and tried to manually start the service. There I got the error message.I found an old post, describing the same problem.http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic279320.html

A:Security Center service cannot start on Windows 7: Error 5 Access Denied

Most third party security AV/AS software will disable Windows security software in favor of their own. This is normal. Using more than one anti-virus security program at one time is not recommended. They can interfere with each other giving you gaps in coverage, cause conflicts that lead to system crashes, and tend to slow your system down by using excessive resources. Pick one that you like and stick with it.

I've just installed ATA center and a lightweight gateway on one DC.  I logged into the ATA console and tried swapping the IP's of the ATA Center and ATA Console.  After saving my changes, there was a message about waiting for the gateways to sync
the new config, along with 2 buttons.  I think the first button was to apply the new config, but it was greyed out.  The second button was "revert".  After a few minutes, the first button never became available, so I tried reloading
the page.  Now I can't get the console to load on either of the 2 IP addresses.
When I try to open either IP in IE, I get "this page cannot be displayed."
How can I get the console back?
Edit: Looks like the ATA Center service is failing to start.  In Event viewer, I see 4 events each time it tries and fails to start, with the most relevant/informative event being HttpEvent ID 15005:
Unable to bind to the underlying transport for 10.x.x.x:443. The IP Listen-Only list may contain a reference to an interface which may not exist on this machine.  The data field contains the error number.
Looks like maybe it's trying to bring up ATA Center on it's original IP, but the console has already taken over that IP.
Any suggestions?

The ThreatFire service is part of the ThreatFire antivirus program. If you used to have it installed then it may have been deleted or the files may have been moved. Is this something you used to use?

Bassically i cant start pc without this errror message

Windos unable to start due to a file missing or corrupt please insert vista disc and click repair ect.

file missing is

status: 0XC00000E9

I have inserted vista disc rebooted but nothin happens just goes back to the error message. I dont think my pc booting from the DVD drive that why this happening/cant find disc,

I know that it not starting from DVD due to HUUGE problem with DVD driver and SP2 not working together so having to not allow pc to start via DVD drive....

Really anoyed as vista becoming a right pain, please help.(tried microsoft support but they wont help me cos i have a OEM in my product key which is bull tbh.

A:Vista 64/pc wont start, error

It may not be an issue with SP2, but a simple setup issue (I hope). If this drive is otherwise working, this is even more likely. Try the following:

To boot to the CD you may need to change the BIOS to make the CD-drive first in the boot sequence. To do that, reboot and wait for the screen that tells you the F key to push to access the boot menu or boot setup. Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work, and exit. Put the CD in the drive and reboot. When prompted, push any key to boot from the CD.

Once there, select Recovery Environment and then scroll to the menu of options and select and run Startup Repair. Hopefully that will repair the problem. If not, post back with what happened (whether you were able to boot to the CD and whether you could run Startup Repair and if startup repair said it worked or if it generated an error message (and if so, please post the exact message here word-for-word)). Also note whether the same error message as before still persists. Then we'll look into trying to determine the cause (that file and code will help), finding other ways to resolve that cause, and try other ways to repair the problem (but we might as well start with what the system suggested).

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Toshiba Satellite 1405-s105 running windows xp sp 1. Whenever I turn my laptop on, I get an error message saying that some files are missing or corrupted and it says the file is name "Windows\system32\config\system\" I decided to just reformat my harddrive with the Toshiba recovery disk, so upon reboot I hold the C button to boot the cdrom first. I select to erase all data and reformat but my computer just shuts off and reboots back to the same recovery screen. WHAT IS WRONG???

I think it might be a hardrive problem. If so, what kind of harddrive should I be looking for to replace ??? The specs on my current hard drive are as follows:

Are you doing a [quick] NTFS Format or FAT32.. maybe go for quick if you havent tried it yet.. Try repairing it first, if it doesnt shut off repair it. then do a clean sweep next time around.. So I turn my computer off one day only to find it wont start the next day. I open the case up and see the led is on. I flip the switch on the power supply off then on and quickly press the power button. My computer starts but the following time I shut down the computer it again wont start and now the led is blinking. I've never had any issues like this before, any help would be appreciated.

I don't routinely use many usb devices, only my mouse and keyboard and every now and then my ipod. I figure the issue is likely either the power supply or the motherboard. The ps is almost two years old while the motherboard is only about three months old.

A:Computer wont start, power supply wont start, blinking led

It sounds to me like your PSU is the problem, get a hold of another and plug it to your computer and see if that will make it start, if it doesn't it might be BOTH your motherboard and PSU. A bad PSU will burn a motherboard.

I have a Samsung X20 laptop that was working perfectly then when I turned it on it starts to load then I get a "disc read error" message press ctrl, alt, delete to restart then the same thing happens.

I've checked the cables to the hard drive and all is good, so is memory slots. I have entered setup and it all seems OK. I have tried to start in safe mode but get to just past the windows screen then a blue screen with white writing flashes up for a second I can't read what is says because the laptop restarts too quickly to read it. Then the same thing occurs again.

Any ideas?

my computer had been doing a chdsk on the c hdd, and then had been interrupted by a short power failure, and i had to put the hdd in another computer to finish the process, after that it worked, the next day i boot it up, and get a message saying the a driver was trying to use too much memory and windows had to be shut down, i fixed that in safe mode. but now i have a different error the next day it says that windows has detected and error and has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. the file that caused this is RDR_FILE_SYSTEM, and it gives no reason as to why its causing this, but it boots all the way, and says loading settings, and profile, and then goes to this blue screen, and does a full memory dump, and does chdsk every time i boot. it would not be so bad but i cant even boot safe mode, and i have no os restore disks, and cant really do anything. is it time to buy xp, and reinstall? or is there a solution?

A:Windows Defender wont start error 577

These types of errors on Windows Defender 8/10 are typically the result of having a third-party anti-virus installed or failure to remove it properly (completely).

Windows 8/10 integrates a more robust version of Windows Defender[/url] (and uses that name) for its anti-virus and anti-malware protection.

Since Windows 8/10 Defender includes anti-virus protection, it typically is disabled by the installation of a third-party anti-virus program. If a trial anti-virus (i.e. McAfee, Norton, etc) came preinstalled on your computer or you installed one, it most likely turned Windows 8 Defender off (disabled) to avoid conflicts. Windows 8 Defender will remain disabled until that anti-virus software has been completely uninstalled. In some cases, you may need to download and run the anti-virus vendor's clean up tool to remove any remaining remnants.Replacing your Anti-virus - List of Antivirus Uninstallers and Removal ToolsMicrosoft Wiki: List of anti-malware product removal tools by Stephen Boots, MVP

My computer is about 4 month old. Today I ran error check on the C drive and marked the 2 boxes that say automatically check file system for errors and fix any problems (paraphrasing).
When it finished the process the computer will not boot. All i get are 3 screens-First is the windows logo, second a screen that sayslease select the o/s to start-windows xp or the recovery center, the 3rd screen says we apologize for the inconvience but windows did not start successfully. A recent h/w or s/w may have caused a problem-below it shows safe mode, safe mode with networking, last known good configuration or start windows normally. The screens are in black and white. When I click on safe mode a bunch on writing comes up on the screen but no safe mode, just the next screen. If I stick my recovery disk in and boot he said this would reformat my drive and I'll loose info. I need to somehow save current word docs on computer.
When I call the HP Tech, he said running the error check on the hard drive can corrupt it. Is this correct? Any help/guidance would be great.
