is my recorded VIDEO protected?

Q: is my recorded VIDEO protected?

i recorded a video using my TV TUNER CARD, the video is in mepg format, now i want to upload it to a site to share it with my classmate, and of course, let them download it as well.

however, i'm worried that they might not be able to see it on THEIR computer, since i remember music i rip from my cd cannot be play on any other computers besides my own, will the same apply for this video? which i legally and rightfully recorded with my very own tv tuner card? can my classmates see it on their pc if i give the video to them?

i use windows media player 9, and i my internet connection is active, i have a good pc with a sino tv tuner card, hope this info helps.

thanks a million for the help.

Preferred Solution: is my recorded VIDEO protected?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, i recorded a streaming video off of the internet and when i came to play it i noticed it was very quiet. I was wondering if there was anyway to make it sound louder without turning up the volume on my speakers? I used the program - Frontcam - to record the video.

I await your replies

A:Recorded Video Sound

To record sound: Right click the icon of "volume control" on your system tray bar (on the right bottom corner of the screen) and then go to the menu item "options"->"properties"->"recording" and press the "OK" button, check the proper item you want to recording and then start sound recording.
To record sound from microphone: check "Microphone".
To record sound from other application: check "Stero Mix" or "Mono Mix", the name may be different depending on your system.
Did you do everything like that?

I recently recorded a video interview using my laptop's video recording, the video was a little over 30 minutes long. When I went to play the video, my computer would not play it. When I try to open it, it says "Can not play. Choose something else to play. This item is in a format we don't support.  0xc1010103" even though it will play other videos I have recorded on the computer. I am not sure if the video was too long or if it somehow got corrupted.  This is a very important video that I need for a class assignment, is there any way I can play it?

Hello Friends and Forum members,
I would really appreciate some help with getting my Blue Screen Minidumps fixed. This happens whenever and only when I play videos, whether it is flow player, UTube, or any other videos on my system.
So far I have identified four files as the culprits here and would need help in knowing how to get them fixed.

I am attaching the Window mini dump the most recent one and the Blue Screen Viewer results for your information and review.
I would appreciate your help and suggestion on getting these problems resolved.

Thanking you in advance for your help. Warm regards,

I had posted a question a while back about setting up a network and with the answers from "Tech Guy"did get a system working just fine. My Desktop is a Dell Dimension 8400 with XP Media center OS and the laptop is a Toshiba Satellite with Windows Vista Premium. I have two external drives the one I use primarily in storing my present personal active files including a file that stores recording media which the desktop Media Center gets from the TV cable connection. Then this file is also available via the network to the laptop. With the external drive all my other stored files from the desktop are also available on my laptop. Lately I have had several movie downloads and several repeats of the series "Jag"which play on the desktop but will not play on the laptop with various excuses for them not playing like "Cannot play this format:" or " for one reason or another "not authorized to play". I would think the recordings between the two Media Centers would be identical unless Microsoft has changed that too with Vista. I am very unhappy with Vista.

I had been recording cartoon shows off and on for my godson to watch. In February, I started getting errors and every attempt to burn a video DVD aborts. At first I thought maybe I had some bad DVD+R media, but I am able to burn other things to DVD outside of Media Center. I can burn data DVDs, but fail on video DVDs.

Here is what happens: In Media Center, I select the episodes of recorded TV shows that I want to burn to DVD. The process starts normally, indicating that it may take "several hours" to finish. After about an hour or so, at around 25% completion, I hear the DVD burner spin up like it is going to start burning the DV. After a few (less than ten) seconds, it stops and ejects the disk. In Media Center, an error comes up saying: "BURN FAILURE, An error has occurred in burning the CD/DVD." There is no further info nor error codes. It appears that something does get burned to the disk during those few seconds, because the system will no longer recognize the disk and it must be trashed.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit on an HP system with a quad core processor and 4Gb of RAM. So far, I have tried all the tips that I can find for similar problems (install CODECs, reregistering DLL files, etc.), but nothing helps. I even went so far as to use the original system restore disks to wipe out the computer entirely and reinstall Vista, then let it do all updates (through SP2). Hello rmths,

In Media Center, you can only create a video DVD by using a recorded TV show when the broadcast type matches the region that you have selected in Media Center.

Also have you looked at your codec pack ?.

My McAfee virusscan detected the [email protected] virus. I'm unable to do anything with it (delete, clean, quarantine). I get disk is write-protected error. I try to browse to the directory it's in and I can't see it. I've changed folder settings to show hidden and system files. I'm running XP and still can't see the folder it shows up in. I've run viruscan in normal and safe mode. Still can't do anything with it. I've included my Hijackthis log.

A:[email protected] and disk is write-protected error

You are using an old version of Hijack This. You are also running HJT from your Temporary Internet Files folder. It will not function properly from there and it cannot create and restore backups from there. You need to create a new folder in My Documents and name it Hijack This. Now Click here to download Hijack This again. Download it and click "Save". Save it to the Hijack This folder you just created. That way it can create and restore backups if needed. HJT will store the backups in the same location that it is run from.

Click on Hijackthis.exe to launch the program. Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log. Click "Save" to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.

Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.

DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Greetings-I have a rather small (OK, maybe it's large) problem. I am trying to capture video from my TV and transfer it to my PC. I am using an TV Tuner PCI Phillips 7130 ( SBT-TBFM) capture device to do so. I have checked all my connections and believe I have everything connected correctly. While the video is being captured, I am able to see the video and hear the audio stream and everything appears fine. That said, after I finish capturing the video and open the video file, the video plays but there is no sound. This seems to indicate that no sound is coming into the PC, but since I was able to hear audio during the preview, I know this is not the case. I am on Windows 7 running a 2.8 GHz AMD with 4 GB of RAM. I am using the Honestech TVR software that came with the TV Tuner. I have writing to the seller SABRENT and to Honestech, and their answers have not resolved the problem.

THis is very frustrating, so any help is appreciated.

I have setup a Library named "Recorded TV"When i click on Recorded TV in the start menu, the location opens to this(i have circled in red the location), even though that i have set the folder save location to C:\Users\Derek and TienaMy Other Libraries, such as Documents, Open up under the Library list (again circled in Red)Also, the other libraries don't list the file location at the top, as the Recorded TV, below the green library title. I want to remove this from the Recorded TV. I cannot seem to figure out how.

A:Recorded TV Folder

I'm sorry, I don't fully understand what your problem is and what you want accomplished. Could you please restate your problem? Do you want to remove the "C:\Users\Derek and Tiena" entry from the Recorded TV Library?

Working with Libraries is very easy. When you have an Explorer window open, click Libraries in the left pane. Now, inside the main window, right-click the Library you want to modify. Click Properties. From this Properties window, you can edit what is included in the Library and what is not. It's very intuitive.

If you want to get rid of the file location at the top that you mentioned, simply do this: right-click in the empty space of the window and hover over "Group by". Select "None" from this secondary menu. This will remove the grouping by file location.

I'm not sure if that is exactly what you were after, but perhaps I will be better able to assist after I get a clearer picture of what it is you're wanting to do.

I have an external TV Tuner (Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950q) and I have been recording some TV programs with it into Windows Media Centre (I have Windows Vista) consistently for a month now. For a couple weeks I was able to burn the recordings on a DvD with no problem, but now when I get to the "Review and Edit List" which used to show which recording I was burning, the list is blank and I can't go any further. I've tried clicking "Add More" and selecting the recording from "Recorded TV" - but I can't select any of my Manual Recordings, even though they do show up on this page.

My problem doesn't appear to be with the tuner -- my recordings do show up in Media Centre and I can play them, etc. The first difference I saw right before I noticed the problem was that there is no longer a still screenshot as the icon for my recordings (including the ones recorded prior to the problem) just the name.

That's the best I can do for a description -- any ideas of what's going on?

Hello fellow board members and moderators!

I am a teacher who is trying to edit a documentary I recorded using a DVD recorder for presentation in my class. The DVD-R disk plays fine in my PC, but I need to edit the commercials from the recorded program.

Does anyone have recommendations to an easy to use video editing program, and if so, could someone briefly outline the steps on how to perform this task? I consider myself to be digitally savvy when it comes to understanding new applications, I just need a jump start of sorts in the right direction.

I certainly appreciate any help or suggestions the board community might be able to share with me.

A:Edit Dvd-r Recorded Movie

Assuming that this falls under "Fair use" (Title 17)

I can tell you how I do it using Nero 6 Ultra Edition, and Screenblast Movie Studio. (Neither are free)

I use Nero Startsmart, > "Photo & video" >" Make Your Own DVD Video" > "Import Disc". Choose the drive that your DVD is in. Nero will now rip audio/video files from the DVD.
When it's finished, You should be able to choose titles from the "Import titles from Disc" feature. (If you set the chapters ahead of time)
Highlight the desired titles and click OK. This will rip the audio/video from the DVD to your hard drive. They should be an MPEG-2 format

If you don't get audio when you open the file in your editor, use Nero to export the file,

In NeroVision Express, highlight the video and click the "Edit Movie" icon.
At the bottom, click the "Export" button. Choose the "output file" (destination) for your video.
Click "configure" > "DVD Video" tab. Change the audio format from "automatic" to
"LPCM" click OK. Then click the "Export" button.

I open the video files in Screenblast Movie Studio to split the events and delete the unwanted footage. Tho, I suppose you could do the same thing in Nero.
Using the "Edit Movie" feature.

Then re burn the edited version to DVD.

I don't know of any free video editing software. Sorry.

If you have turned up your speaker volume, and it is still too quiet, you can amplify the sound clip using the free program Audacity.

Good morning, I have an audio recording issue and I will try to explain it as best I can. When I record with a microphone, the recorded audio plays back very low. I have gone through the settings for hours on end and can find no cause. I have the microphone gain at 100% and the boost at +30. The system plays back other prerecorded files fine with plenty of level. When I play my recorded files I must crank up the volume, so high that I get a lot of background hiss. It records fine, just very low. I took a look at this in both Audacity and Adobe Soundbooth and the level meters reflect the low signal level as being down in the mud. I have not tried 'Line in' to see if it works any better, I have only used the microphone. BTW, I have tried several microphones all with the same results. Additionally, are the microphone input jacks in my motherboard stereo? The boom microphone cable on my headset is a three wire just like the ear pieces. Does anyone know the pin configuration for this jack? I am assuming the the tip is one channel the ring is the other channel and the base is ground/common. FYI, the Sound system is onboard - Asus P6X58D Premium mobo running 7 x64 Pro, and Realtek HD drivers. (Installed and reinstalled and updated) Also, I tested the headset and boom microphone on another system, (Abit IL9 Pro mobo onboard audio running Vista 32 business) it also is running Realtek HD drivers and it works fine. Any thoughts would be very welcome. Thanks in advance, ... Read more

I'm no audio expert, but I'm guessing you're going to need a microhone pre-amplifier so that you can boost the gain without being swamped by noise.
