I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Suddenly email I send to Hotmail or MSN mail is getting bounced back. It does not matter if the message is a new one or reply.

It happens whether or not I send it from my desktop or ipad. However, if I send the email from work on my work desktop or my ipad on the work network, it goes through.

Hi... I'm in help desk in my company. We're having an issue with emails sent to Hotmail, they're being rejected. Microsoft answered, via website:

"Welcome to Microsoft Community. We understand how important for you to be able to send an email to Microsoft accounts from your domain account.

You need to get in touch with the Microsoft Sender Support Team. They have to fill out the e-form that can be found on the following link to solve your issue with the error code 550 SC-002 where your emails sent from your domain to Microsoft Account rejected for policy reasons.

If you are the 3rd party Domain Administrator:

Please review our policies and guidelines at http://postmaster.live.com.
If you are in compliance, submit a support request to our Email and Delivery Filtering Services team by clicking on the link to the e-form under the troubleshooting section in the postmaster site mentioned above.

Let us know if you have further questions.

Thank you. "

... but the problem is that mails sent to Gmail are being rejected too... So I suppose that our servers are being considered as spammers, for the time being, for some reason. Is there a workaround to this without having to contact either Hotmail or Gmail? That's dealing with obnoxious bureaucrats... if you ever can get a hold of them...

Hey everyone, I have been trying to play a few games on my laptop recently, and I've noticed the oddest thing. Take Dungeon Siege 2 for example; I start the game up, graphics are set to high, and the game runs smooth as butter. About 5 minutes go by and then I hit a massive lag spike, my frame-rate drops from 40 to 10. This lasts for about another 5minutes then... its back to being smooth again? It will keep doing this switch back and forth constantly. The game only uses about 400mb of ram, and even when its being laggy, lowering the graphics to bare-bones doesn't make the slightest difference.

I tried setting the core affinity to 1, 2 or both, that doesn't seem to make anything better. I tried raising the app priority, but vista keeps reseting it i think. And oddly, by minimizing the game and waiting about 30seconds, the game will go back to being smooth again.
What is going on??

I've been trying to find a solution to the problem and it led me here. However my problem isn't the same as the firefox 'bouncing' problem already mentioned in this forum.

When viewing hotmail I can visit my inbox but when i try to view any messages I get a very brief glimpse of the message before it bounces me back to the inbox.
With other sites it often just refreshes the page if i click on any avenues within the site.

I tried deleting cookies via the toolbar cos that sorts out some problems.

I only got to this forum through explorer (yuk).

I apologise if this is a question that has already been answered but my problem isn't very easily searchable through keywords.

A:Firefox keeps bouncing back to a previous page.

...also revisiting a tab in firefox causes that page to refresh. Not really a problem but displaying all the symptomes will help in diagnosing the problem.

I also tried re-installing firefox. That didn't work.

Please, any thoughts on this, it's driving me up the wall.

Hello, everyone, and thank you for any assistance you can provide with this issue. I searched for an answer using Google and the TG search function, but the issue is inherently difficult to search for, as it brings up a lot of off-topic results. If this has been asked and answered, a link to the answer would be appreciated, thanks again.

When working on my computer, I practice a sort of extreme mult-tasking - that is, I usually have numerous Office & PDF programs open and more specifically 3-4 IE browser windows at any given time.

I frequently click to a new page, or action, on one page, then switch back to Word, or to another window in the meantime while that page downloads, even if this only takes a second or two - that's a couple of seconds I could be doing something else.

IE does not seem to cooperate in this regard, however, in that I will often find myself unwillingly dragged back to a browser window, when the page has finished downloading, when there is activity there, PW request, etc. Is there any way to prevent IE from switching windows on me against my will, so that I will only be on the browser window I choose and never be dragged back to an old window, regardless of what is going on there?

I am using IE7; however, the same thing happened with my earlier IE6.

I have cable Internet, but I am also using a old and slow computer - will an upgrade solve this?

If so, given my penchant for mult-tasking, is a dual core processor the way to go?

A:Internet Exlorer windows bouncing back and forth

Welcome, LAEsquire.

I think the word you're looking for is "focus." You click on a certain window to get the focus there. Then some other application or window wants your input or wants you to see a message and it grabs the focus (and you find yourself typing into thin air!).

I know of no way to change this operation. Maybe there is a registry tweak.

Since this is a general Windows feature I suggest that you click on the red triangle and ask a moderator to move this thread to the Windows XP forum, where you are more likely to find an expert who knows about this.

This morning emails I am sending to hotmail accounts I use every day are being bounced back with the message :"550 SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. What is going on please?

A:Windows Live Hotmail suddenly bouncing back emails

Hi Aroominyork, it is possible the mail server you use for sending mail has been added to a black list which is now causing you issues.

You need to find the IP of your SMTP server (which you can find probably in the returned emails), if not then copy and paste the contents of one of the returned emails here and we should be able to find it.

When you have the IP, try typing it in here and see what results you get.

did you format the drive, or install win 7 over OE? From windows mail you can import messages, but you have to point it to where the messages are. Do you know where the OE stored them?

I suffered a hard disk crash. New computer is set up with the latest revs to XP SP3 level.

Miraculously, I DID have a backup! (SOoo proud of my self).

I went in to the new system to see where Outlook Express keeps its mail folders... not too hard to do.... they are stored a ".DBX" files.

Then I went in to my backup and found several of the old Outlook Express mail folders(.DBX files) that I'd like to have back. Copied these files into the same place as the currently active mail folders are located.

Issue is that OE does not see the .DBX files that I added... only the ones that I created using OE itself.

So does anyone know the trick?

And while we're at it, how would I resurrect my Address Book from the backup.?

Many thanks in advance for any guidance you might be able to offer

Hi, everyone,

My Vista is home version, and it just crashed; I can't log in any more, it always comes up with a window saying "restart repair", can I get back my mails in Windows Mail without log on??

A:Back up Windows Mail without log-on

You can use Knoppix http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO copier like: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm along with a blank CD (perhaps made on a diffent computer. Boot to this disk. This should give you enough access to the system (if you can't get in any other way) to backup your important data like your Windows Mail files (as long as you know where they are stored). On my system, they are in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail.

But that's just getting to your mail to back it up (if you can - there's no guarantee even this will work depending on what is wrong with your system). Do you want to also try to fix it as well or do you have that covered?

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Hi aeon flux and welcome to the BC forums. After reviewing your log I see no problems that would cause the issues you describe. What exactly does the error message say? Did this just start happening or have you always had this problem with Yahoo mail? When you talk about LINE 17 what line specifically are you talking about? The line with 017 are the dns servers for Bell Canada and are legitimate entries.

I use Firefox with Yahoo mail without any problems and Firefox is Mozilla-based so I don't see Mozilla as being a problem.

Please post back with as much detail regarding this problem as you can. Include the specific error message, any new programs that were installed/uninstalled prior to this problem starting or anything else that is pertinent. I will review the information when it comes in and see if there is something that we can do.

I just noticed today that my windows 8 mail app (the standard one from ms) was no longer showing me notifications when email arrived. I went over to the app and noticed that the google syncing had changed and required me to re-authenticate my google account to it. That went fine. Then I noticed that my exchange account is now missing from the app (not in the mailbox view, nor is it in the list of accounts). However, when I try to add my exchange account, it says "You've already added this account". Is there anywhere else I can remove the exchange account or somehow get it show up again in the mail app?

This is not the most elegant solution, but you could try uninstalling the Mail app (that will remove the Calendar app and the People app too) and then re-installing it. I've had to do that a time or two to fix them when they went wonky...

A:My e-mail has changed to AOL, how do I change it back?

Did you close and then restart Internet Explorer before checking if AOL was still the email client ? Sometimes these changes dont come into effect until the browser has been closed .

Also (in XP , at least) you can go to Control Panel/Add Remove Programs . In the left-hand panel there's a button for setting Program Access and Defaults . You might want to change the default mail client in there too . In Vista I think it's Start/Default Programs/Program Access (not 100% sure but think I'm close enough that you can follow) .

First attempt, exported Windows mail (10,000+ email, 200+ folders) into a 3Gb .pst file (took a while). Imported into Outlook (not the auto import on first start). Froze a few times but otherwise took a looooooonnggg time to import. File structure seemed intact.

Second attempt (a week later), due to the sizes and import lengths had to stop and re schedule another day to do this. Removed 6000 emails and placed in separate folder (ie everything older than 6 months). Only selected 4000 ish emails and folders. Went through the export function.

a 13Gb .pst file was created. When imported into Outlook it was the same data as before, ie no emails that had been received between first and second attempt were in the back up. This is when i looked back and saw the original 3Gb file was now 13Gb.

I tried deleting the back up file, but then when i export again it says there is an error creating the back up. I have to put the 13Gb file back. Even if i select just one folder with one email in it. After the back up, it is still a 13Gb file left over.

How can i reset my back up .pst ?????

Any ideas?

A:Creating new back up .pst in windows mail

Hi Zekexa,

According to my understanding there is some problem when you try to create a PST file through export function in windows mail. It is possible that your backup PST file corrupted and it seems your original file is now 13 GB data instead of 3 GB. You need to use any converter tool which can convert windows live mail to PST. You have to follow the instruction of that converter tool to overcome this problem. Just for your support, I am giving you a simple way how you can search for solution over Google, click this link:

The problem is I have a mailer mailing me an attachment, and the email they are sending

doesn't get to me, it bounces back to them, and they get a message that the Mail Box is

Full ?

I do not understand who's Mail Box if full,

I emptied my In and Sent and Deleted Boxes, . .

Can you tell me what probably is happening, . .

Possibly it has something to do with my ISP ?

A:Recipient Mail Bounces Back

The receipient is being told that your mailbox is full.Do you have OE set to keep a copy of received messages on the server? If you do, and don't delete from there messages will pile up in the Inbox. You could also try to compact OE. This article Why You Should Let Outlook Express Compact Messages When It Asks You explains exactly what compacting messages is, and why you may be seeing that message. It's possible that you don't have a lot of kept mail; however, OE stores messages within a database, which tends to grow in size and degrade the perfomance of OE. Even previously deleted messages that are removed from OE take up space in that database. Compacting your folders will REMOVE all the records that you have deleted. It may simply be a case of to many so called deleted messages are sitting somewhere on your computer, taking up drive space. This is explained in more detail in the section "What Does Compacting Messages Mean, and What Happens?"edited to correct a typo

Is there a way to import Thunderbird mail messages back into Outlook Express? I tried importing from OE, but none of the available message filters could successfully read the Thunderbird mail directory. I know Thunderbird's FAQ says it stores its mail in Eudora mbx format, but selecting "import Eudora" in OE doesn't successfully read the directory. Any advice?

If you've tried and tried it's likely not possible is what the repeated failed tries are saying. Time to print them out and move on. Can you export Sddress Book? Necessary?

Before I installed Windows 7, I backed up all my data files to my external hard drive. Now I am having difficulty getting my email files into my email program. I reinstalled Eudora Mail, which I had been using, and was unable to restore the files. I decided to install Windows Live email and see if I could import the files into it. No dice. I managed to restore the files to a folder on my desktop.... I have tried to open them using Eudora, but they simply do not open. When I try to import them into Windows Live, they can't be found.

I don't know what else to try.

It's the tale of providers who don't have an answer. I've been having email bounce back issues in two email accounts through different providers (GoDaddy and Network Solutions). Because it was happening in one account more than the other (mostly because I use that account far more), I contacted that email provider (Network Solutions).

The bounce back seems to be happening when I reply to an email - the bounce will either say no account of that name exists or there was some other fatal error. It's obvious these email accounts exist because I have been having regular communications with them.

Network Solutions did some digging for me and said it was because my IP has been blacklisted and I should contact my ISP (Spectrum formerly TWC). They said it wasn't their issue that it must be from a virus, a setting, or sending spam. After being on the phone with support for nearly an hour it came down to them basically saying there was nothing they could do to help.

NS checked MX Toolbox and found that my IP has been blacklisted 93 times. One of those places say that this is a function of my ISP and I should contact them to help get me removed. Well, I did and they said they couldn't help. So I'm here. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Windows Live Mail 2010 seemed OK. Then WLM 2011 arrived out of the blue and was installed without prior warning. I don’t like it. How do I get back to WLM 2010 easily? Or are there simple ways of dealing with the problems below?
- It has lost all my imported messages on which I rely, from early 2010 back to 2003 (hopefully I have a back up and can import most of them again).

- Sometimes it won’t start unless I close down and reboot my Windows 7 PC first.

- It fails to show some of my recent messages, missing different ones each time. For 11 October for example it showed one out of three I sent on a particular subject, and after the last reboot lost that one too, so now I have none.

- If I ask for emails concerning a particular search term it says that some may not show while it is scanning my emails, but that’s not true. If they are not there quickly they never appear.

-I want the inbox and sent box to show each individual email amongst others in the order they were sent or arrived, which it doesn’t seem able to do.

- I ask it to find all messages from Alan to Bill sent after 10 October and before 12 October, and it shows me messages from 15 October to 26 October.

- I think the upgrade from 2010 to 2011 arrived as an automatic Windows update, so now I have asked to see all updates before installation to avoid getting it again, but I can't see it in the history list.

Would be grateful for help with this this.

A:How to get back to Windows Live Mail 2010

I feel that same as you. You may want to try a system restore. But you said that it came automatically. With SR it may come back.

What you may want to do is download one of the many other great mail clients and make it the default. WLM will be on your hard drive but not working.

My Dad had this problem after ATT forced all subscribers into a new version of ATT Yahoo mail. Suddenly on both his PC's he had to sign back into Yahoo mail every time he opened his browser, even though it was set to only prompt every two weeks. The Save Password prompt was missing from the sign-in box.

Extensive search only found issues with auto-cookie-removal and mentioned settings.

ATT Tech Support says the issue is known to them and being worked on, but no solution has yet been found.

The problem was eventually traced to the desktop shortcut which had lost its ability to reopen securely signed-in Yahoo Mail but only prompts for Sign In. Replace the desktop icon by rightclicking a blank area of Inbox to Create Shortcut or Send to Desktop.

Let's hope ATT support finds this thread.

A:Must sign back into Yahoo Mail every time

that's weird because I was just having some problems with yahoo weather and changing my location without my knowledge I don't know what it is, but I'm sure yahoo will figure it out

I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003 and I need to back-up personal folders including the inbox, sent messages, and trash folders. I am on an exchange server which has its own mail server. The more I look for help on the internet, the more confusing it becomes. Is there a simple way to accomplish this task?

A:[SOLVED] Need to back-up all outlook 2003 mail - please help!

This article describes how to automatically back up your personal folders (.pst) file in Microsoft Outlook 2002 and Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.

To use the Personal Folders Backup add-in, follow these steps:
1.Start Outlook.
2.On the File menu, click Backup.
3.Click Options and select the .pst files that you want to back up.

.The Personal Folders Backup add-in can back up files to a disk. However, the add-in cannot spread the .pst file across multiple disks. When you change backup options, select a storage location that has sufficient free space to handle your whole .pst file.

I can't figure out what is happening. Lately, when I try to go to various sites, i.e. Paypal, I click on the "Send Money" tab and instead of downloading what it should, the computer shuts me out and goes back to my desktop or to my e-mail (Outlook) if it is open. This has happened several times recently. I have Windows 98. Pentium 4, 12 mg. Ram. I defragmented by drive, but to no avail. What could possibly be happening? Please help if you know.

Thank you in advance!!!

I'm migrating my system to Windows 10 Pro. I'm currently using Office Outlook 2007 for my emails and I'm curious what is the best way to transfer not only my mail but also all Outlook settings, accounts, layouts, etc. Is there a way to do it?

Which registry keys or folders do I need to copy? Basically how does it store its data?

PS. I know that there's (paid) software that does it for you. In this case I want to know how to do manually.

A:How to back up all mail and settings in Outlook 2007?

The .PST or .OST? Are you planning on going with a newer version of Office? Personally I would pull the drive and use a new one for Windows 10. Then use the old drive to drag over the files you want to move back to those directories. In place upgrades of Windows 10 can cause all of your saved files to get tossed to the garbage bin literally. Migration has been an issue with Windows 10 for a while.

I personally would just save all emails back to your server in a folder, same as contacts. Setup your new install of Windows 10 for emails to not be held on the computer, but held on the server, same as contacts.

(I did post this in the newsgroup mail forum, but got no response....)

All outgoing POP3 emails sent via Windows Mail or Live Mail are being returned as undeliverable, marked as SPAM. HOWEVER, if i use the web mail through IE or FF, same account and address, it is getting through just fine. This is only happening to my wife's address and not mine and we are both using the same machine.

Any ideas??

A:all outgoing mail bounced back as SPAM

Check the settings on outgoing mail on her account. Make sure you set up the live mail correctly. That is all that makes sense. You aren't sending it all to just one recipient are you? It could be that her address gets marked as spam by the built in features...
