11.6 Pavilion x360 Runnig Super Slow after Battery Died?

Q: 11.6 Pavilion x360 Runnig Super Slow after Battery Died?

Hi,So my battery died whilst on Standby overnight, so next morning I plugged it in and resumed to find an erro message saying Recyling Bin corrupted, tried clicking some ok boxes etc but nothing was happening, tried opening menus and other apps, nothing. It seemed locked up. I Cntrl Alt Deleted and got it to shut down. When I started back up it's running ultra slow now and I can't open folders off the desktop - Any ideas? Currently runnin Windows update which is taking forever trying to detect any issues - this is a brand new product too - 2 weeks old and not used it. Should I reformat and start again? Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey

I just bougth a second hand from a trusty company Dell Precision T54000 Destok, wich runs with windows 7, haves 8gb of ddr3, 2 intel zeon (equal of an intel i7) and it even haves a new form factory Asus GTX 750Ti, but when I turned it on, it just was anoing slow. Is there any way I can make it run normal again? (Something that doesn't make me spend any more money in this desktop)

I'm guessing you actually have a Dell Precision T5400 WorkStation desktop - which is very large and very heavy.
What's the exact "service tag" number and/or "express service code" number on yours?

The T5400 comes with either an Intel Xeon dual-core or quad-core processor.
At this point, we don't know which model processor yours has, so we don't know how fast it is.
The T5400 also supports up to 32 GB of DDR2 RAM and has an 875W power supply.
Its motherboard has 2 PCI Express x16 slots for adding 1 or 2 graphic cards.
If yours came with a GeForce GTX 750 Ti graphic card, it has a very good benchmark score.

Besides answering the above question, also do the following in that desktop:
Download and save the TSG System Information Utility (SysInfo.exe) file.
After it's been downloaded and saved, double-click it to run it.
Information about your desktop will appear.
Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE text here.

Hi,  I am having a weird battery issue on my HP laptop. The laptop is about 3 years old and wasn't used that often. The battery has been fine up until I took the laptop apart to replace the RAM. I used a static strap and didn't do anything that would of affected the battery but I don't know. I think this happened just because I unplugged the battery when I was working on the computer. Anyway, now I get an error code:    This is what the ERROR CODE says if you can't read that:   HP Battery Alert The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low. For optimal performance this battery may need to be replaced.  Primary (Internal) Battery (601) Enter - Continue Startup For more information, please visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup So this is basically saying my battery is going bad, BUT I don't believe that. One reason is that I checked the health of the battery in multiple ways. One way is through the UEFI Battery check which I checked the battery and the power supply multiple times and they all came back as PASSED with no problems. I've also used the battery check command in command line (cant remember it right this second) but that also came back with no issues. ALSO I ran the test on HP support assistant and that as well came back with no issues.  The problem is this. My laptop will be completely dead so I'll hook it up to the AC power suppl... Read more

Hi, My battery doesn't last more than 10 minutes without being plugged in the charger. I think I need a replacement, but I can't find an original battery. Can someone help me to find where I can get a new (reliable) battery for my laptop? I contacted HP and also a couple companies, but it is out of stock everywhere. I am afraid to get a third part one and have a problem in the future. Thanks

I bought this laptop, new, yesterday.  It charged all night.  The specs say it has a battery life of 11.75 hours.  That is the sole reason I decided to go with this laptop over one with better RAM.  I just turned it on 30 minutes ago and it is 100% charged yet it only has a battery life of 5hr, 26 min.  After 30 minutes of light use, it is 85% charged with 4hr, 3min left.  Is there anything I can do to fix this issue short of returning the computer?

I am getting error 601 at boot up, and my battery went from working all day one day to less than 10 minutes the next.  Error says battery needs to be replaced - but doesn't give a replacement part number.  After literally HOURS on the HP site I still don't have one.   HELP!  I have an HP Pavilion 13-a113cl x360   notebook and just want the part number or similar that I can use to get a replacement battery.  Ifound the video on how to replace the battery - just not what to replace it with. TIA

Hello. I recently bought Pavilion x360 11, and on pretty much every review site etc. there was written that the full charge should last for approx. 6 hs of browsing internet. I tested it twice just browsing internet, and not even that much because at the same time i was playing on my PC. Both tests ended up in laptop hibernating after 4-4.5hs. I must say that is rather low battery lifetime, specially for me as I bought it for outside use mostly. Can it be defective battery or maybe upgrade to win 10 would work it out for me ? (asking about win 10 because I've read couple general opinions about how it extended their battery lifetime from i.e. 6.5h to 9h ) Any help would be very appreciated, as I have to make a decision if i want to replace the laptop at store or not. Thanks in advance.

I have bought HP Pavilion x360 - 13-s102tu_Laptop (HP Part Code: T0Y58PA) with a view that its battery will run at least for 09.00 hrs but I am getting only 4-4.30 hrs back up. Its normal or laptop having the problem? Any suggestion...

A:Battery life of HP Pavilion x360 - 13-s102tu_Laptop

4.5 hours is actually very good. The 9 hours is based on some conditions not likely to be duplicated in the the real world. The best thing you can do to make the battery last longer (runtime) is to turn down the screen brightness and turn off bluetooth and wifi if you are not using them.  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01297640

Hi everyone, So, yesterday I started up my computer and the fan was running unusually high and then shut off immediately.  I plugged my charger into my notebook and then started it up only to find the Primary (internal) Battery (601) message popping up.  This laptop is just over a year old so I searched up on HP forums and found the fix where you uninstall the 'ACPI - Compliant Control Method Battery', turn off your laptop, unplug the charger and charge it into a wall outlet, and then starting up your computer.  I repeated that process twice and then my battery worked again.  I ran a diagnostic test and it showed that my battery was still at 90% capacity.  All seemed well so I went to sleep, only to find that the same problem occured when I woke up and tried to turn on my computer - wouldn't start, alert message, uninstalled the driver twice and then it finally worked, and my battery is holding its charge now.   Does anyone have any suggestions or input that might be helpful? Thank you.

My laptop was purchased in Oct 2014, so my warranty was up Sept 2015 - noticed last week that half of the keyboard and trackpad are distended, and determined the battery is swollen - today, noticed the battery is no longer holding a charge - cannot locate any recalls, but two years is awfully short for an HP laptop battery to go bad like this under normal conditions - tried contacting warranty dept with description and was immediately advised to submit my issue to support or forums -

Hi, I own a Pavilion x360 u028tu. I used to get around 6 hours of battery life with it when I was running Windows 10 1511 (November update). But when I upgraded to Windows 10 Anniversary Update (build 14393.693), the battery meter only displays 4 hrs and 30 minutes, no matter the settings I change. Also, I know that time is not accurate, and I think this will only last me 2 hours. No more ability to roll back, as it has been more than 10 days. I also did a battery report through CMD, and it tells me that the charge cycle is still at its best performance. I'm trying to figure out what's causing the issue, and how I can fix it. Can anyone help?

@LawMaster7, welcome to the forum. If you haven't done so recently, you should do a full System Recovery.  When I see this many errors occurring, I leads me to believe that there are software problems.  After installing and uninstalling apps over time, remnants of them remain and can cause the symptoms that you are experiencing.  You should backup your personal data before beginning the Recovery. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Hi, Can you boot the computer to safemode check if there are changes in the performance? How to boot to safemode in Windows 10 1. Restart your PC. When you get to the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down while you select Power   > Restart. 2. After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. 3. After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. Or if you'll need to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.  Regards

Hi, I recently just got the HP Pavilion x360 with B&O speakers, as a gift (1.12.16). When I started playing videos with audio on, I noticed that every few minutes or so, it would start to slow and kind of 'crack'. I've looked at many forums from the community on how to fix it; I have rolled back the driver and have also changed the sample rate the the highest (I think) one, though it is still cracking. I listen to a lot of things with audio, so this is quite a big problem to me. I would happily appreciate any answers. Many thanks, aliajenna

Here is a site that lists instructions on several ways you can speed up your computer. While it may be listed there [I'm not sure], I also advise scanning your computer with antivirus and antimalware software. I suggest Avast Antivirus and MalwarebytesAntiMalware.

I posted the following earlier this evening on a question where someone else suffered their Spectre blowing something on their motherboard... This happened to me tonight as well.  I've had a 13-4009na since late Aug 2015 and barely use it (one or two hours a month), and tonight in the middle of something... a slight pop and a dead laptop.  I thought it had come with a 2 year warranty (at that price), but alas it's expired.  So I took the back off it, and low and behold, up around the SSD, a couple of surface mounted components are sizzled, with the faint smell of burning.  Seems to be a common problem now that I've found these forums. I wouldn't mind if I felt I'd got my money out of it, but this is been my pride and joy and kept only for best!  After years of recommending HP gear to people, I'm really worried.  The motherboards are impossible to get hold of, and it sounds like HP are charging way too much to replace something that's obviously a defect.  This has really soured me. To make it worse I can't find any wayto make hardware enquiry with HP, as navigating around the UK support site keeps taking me back to more software orientated problems and the option of a Ł35 phone call to help diagnose my problem! This was a few hours ago, and a few after the laptop had died.  I'm on my desktop pc with the laptop sitting beside me, having been dead for over ten hours, and there was just a crackle and a blue spark o... Hey,

I just built and new computer, and have installed windows 7 64 bit so i can use the full capability of all my ram and components. But its running slow, black screens and Non responsive programs, my ram usage never goes above 30%, and CPU usage above 25%, i have installed windows 7 32 bit and had no problems. I have checked the compatibility for all my hardware and programs and all is fine and is compatible with the 64 bit version. Specs for my computer:
Processor: Intel i7-930
Mainboard: GA-X58A-UD3R
Graphics: Ge-Force 6200
HDD: Seagate 2TB Barracuda 5,900 RPM
any suggestions you may have for me would help lots. As i see many more poeple that have the same problem with this version of Windows 7.

-Thanks lots

P.S.: i have a friend telling me that it could be my bus speed. But I'm having a problem finding out how to change my bus values since i updated my BIOS to F5 and I'm not totally sure on how to change them now...if you could tell me how to do so that would help as well, but i DON'T want to make my system unstable or possibly make the Mainboard unusable as i have see some do because of this same problem.

Bought a Spectre X360 roughly 2 years ago which I would only use on rare occasion given that I dont have Internet at home.  A couple months ago it wouldnt power up so I took it to a local repair shop since it was out of warranty.  They have since contacted me saying that the problem is the main board and that it would not be cost effective to replace it/I'm better off buying a new laptop.  to have a $700+.laptop only used a few dozen times  is crazy.     Greg

I live in South Korea. The internet here is unbelievably fast. I've done 3 speed tests tonight, and the download speed averages between 20-40mbps, upload speed between 40-75mbps. However, when I try to watch streaming videos online, it's ridiculously slow. And it's not just one site. It seems to be all of them. Youtube, Comedy Central, BBC, and MSNBC have all been really slow. I notice it the most around 10:00-11:00pm here (only because that's when I come home from work), which is right at the same time most Americans are starting to go to work. Is it possible that the United States 9-5 workforce uses up so much bandwidth on their morning rounds through the internet that it could devastate my access to streaming video here?

A brief synopsis: The majority of videos I try loading require an obscenely long buffer time (upwards of 20 minutes for a 2 minute video). Not always, but usually. However, oftentimes YouTube will only buffer the first 20% or so of the video. So after I play it for a little bit, it inevitably catches up with the buffer and I have to wait again. Even video quality as low as 240p still sometimes takes an awfully long time to load.

Does anybody have any theories? I was able to watch the presidential debate earlier today live just fine (10am here, 7pm Denver time). Am I just trying to play videos at peak bandwidth times? Are there any ways around this? Could there be another explanation? This has been a rather consistent problem since I got i... Read more

Americans use the Internet non-stop round the clock, so that's not the probable reason. I think your ISP is throttling your speed for videos sites. You should contact your ISP and complain.

We recently got 100Mb fibre optic broadband from Virgin Media, but it's been 2 days now and various speedtests report only 2-3Mbps. Other computers around the house get around 20Mbps (none have 100Mbps).

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron N5110, so it's not old, and I run both Linux and Windows 7 (dual boot) - neither OS gets more than 2-3Mbps. I've also tried moving to various spots around the house, to no avail.

I also tried downloading a large torrent (legal) with thousands of seeders to see how fast it would download, and it stuck at around 1Mbps, never any faster.

Why is this? If we're paying for 100Mbps, surely I should expect more than 3Mbps? Other computers on the same network get 10 times this so the issue is with my laptop?

Just recently got rid of spyware from this computer. It was running just fine. I downloaded spyware guard, snoopfree, & zone alarm on my system. Didn't seem to have any problems. I went out of town on Saturday and when I tried to use my computer on Sunday, it acted like it had crashed. I reset my monitor, first and a pop up floated on the screen that had something like no connection found. Then I rebooted my computer without any problems. No sign of the pop up that was floating around before. However, my internet connection browsers (IE & Mozilla) & Outlook Express have been extremely slow, sometimes taking over 5 minutes to load webpages. My email has sometimes stalled and had to start over again and I get 4 or 5 of the same email.
I uninstalled spyware guard, snoopfree, & zone alarm, hoping they were the cause of my slow internet connection. NO such luck. I called my service provider (cable connection) and they report there have been no problems with the connection in my area.
I am ready to pull my hair out..... I hope someone might be able to help me.

Thankyou for sorting out my Desk top. (From which I am writing this.)

Now, my office laptop has gone on strike. It is an HP Pavillion XP. I have already downloaded HihackThis and the Analyzer, to C:\ HJT, but I am not sure how to disable the 'system restore' to begin the log.

It was going slow before I took a short break, and yesterday, having taken an age to start up, it then kept sticking. At one point I timed it taking 3 mins to open the menu from 'Start' and then another 7 mins to open the 'Programme' menu!

I did an NAV Update- 3 times -as it would not install after downloading. So, I followed the Symantec site advice and downloaded the Intelligent Updater direct. Then I ran LiveUpdate again. I assumed the virus updates would be complete, but they ALL updated again. But, this time successfully. Then I did a scan, but all was OK. I noticed, however, that the laptop was working much better after this action, at least it IS working.

Recently, (before this) after failing to download SP2 on Dial-Up, the hard drive crashed. I took it to a 'PCDoctor' had the disk backed up, and they re-installed from the CD QuickRestore System Recovery, before re-installing from the backup copy. (In fact, I had to return it to be re-done as they had obviously used their own CD not my original one.)

I have just discovered from the above NAV scan that they copied all my old programme files to "C:/Esteban/... " along with a mess of other stuff (naturally, my important busi... Read more

Welcome back to TSF...

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point.

If you have a fast internet connection (broadband), run an online virus scan at TrendMicro http://uk.trendmicro-europe.com/ente...all_launch.php. Just follow the instructions on the site to run the online scan. If any viruses/trojans are detected, try to delete or clean them in that site. Otherwise, make sure your antivirus program has the latest definitions and run a full system scan.

Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Also go here to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

Download and install Spybot S&D http://security.kolla.de/. Run Spybot and click on the 'Search for Updates' button. Install any updates that are available.

I was in the process of loading Win XP on an IBM A21p that had a wiped hard drive and was up to the point of formatting the HD when the battery died. Is there a way to start over with a blank drive and reload the OS?

My son's laptop was plugged into the wall, since it won't run off the battery, and the plug came out of the back of the laptop and it turned off. He now can't get it to boot at all. I had him take the battery out completely and try to run it off the adaptor only, but the battery light comes on briefly and the Windows Vista logo comes on briefly and then it won't go any further....nothing at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks..

A:Laptop Died....Battery?

It is most likely the Adapter jack. The solder connection between this and the mainboard tends to develop cracks, and all it takes it a awkaward yank or press to break. It is fixable, best to bring to a computer repair shop, preferably one that has a reputation for doing this kind of repairs. Shop around, some charge over $200.00 (>100 is what i charge).

However if you feel brave, you can at least LOOK at the connection by checking out your laptops dissassembly guide. Simply do www.google.com and enter your laptops make and model, look up dissassembly, and follow the guide to get down to your motherboard, and take a look at it!

My grandmother recently passed away and as she was an accountant she owned lots of computers! I gathered them all with the power supplies I could find and charged them right up. Three of them have battery problems. The computers start up, have all been updated to windows 10 and are less than 2 years old. They were purchased from QVC early 2015 and are all the same model. (15in and 17in display difference) I troubleshooted the best I could from what I could find online, from taking battery out while charging to resetting the BIOS. Its interesting that all laptops were fine except for this batch of HP Pavilion Notebooks with BeatsAudio. There is a total of 3 Laptops and I dont think Itd be a power supply issue as the notebooks power up without the battery. The problem is that the laptops dont retain charge, they appear to be charging for a few minutes on start up but aftewards the battery icon displays "0% charging" and it doesnt charge. Any suggestions are helpful Thank You

Hi

My hard drive died in my HP Pavilion 6640c. Can anyone tell me what type of HD can I install. Does it have to be a proprietary HP HD or can I install a generic one like Maxtor or Western Digital. Also will the restore CD that came with the Pavilion. I understand that HP assigns a serial number on the original HD that has to be matched with the restore DC.

Thanks

Joe

A:[SOLVED] Hard drive died in HP Pavilion 6640c

go here about installing the new harddrive

http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/docume...Id=hppavilion19152&docName=bph07119&cat=setup

As for the hard drive any IDE compatible drive can be installed. And I wouldn't exactly call Maxtor or WD generic, but other's will probably disagree.

The serial number is Microsoft's Product ID number. It's located on the manual or on the jewel case the cd came in, it's about 20 numbers and letters long. You need to type it in during the install process when it prompts you to. DO NOT THROW THE NUMBER AWAY. You can't install the software without this number.

OS: Vista is infamous for its constant annoyance to the user. This is somewhat unlikely, but it could be Vista slowing you down. I recommend upgrading to Win7 regardless.

Processor: The processor seems alright, so you're not having troubles there.

RAM: You may want to consider a RAM upgrade, as many applications (including games) do tend to stick around in memory until a restart. I'd have to say the lack of RAM is your issue. It shouldn't take much more, maybe another 1GB-2GB should fix it up.

Graphics: Nice graphics card, by the way. Beats mine ._.
AntiVirus: Well, the fact that you're careful on the Internet does NOT protect you from viruses. Not at all. I strongly recommend installing Avast! Also, I recommend installing MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and give your computer a nice scan with both of them.

I made the mistake of using my laptop without the charger and letting the battery run down. I launched The Sims 4 before getting up and grabbing my charger. I didn?t check to see if the laptop was actually charging after I plugged it in, simply because I?ve never had an issue before. So I set my laptop down and walked away, letting my game load. I left the computer alone for nearly 20 minutes. I came back and as soon as I went to use it, the screen went black. Luckily though it wasn?t entirely dead. I pressed the power button and it came back on briefly. The battery symbol had an ?X? and it said 0%. I noticed then that my charger wasn?t completely plugged into the machine. So I plugged it in properly and  I didn?t see a little charging symbol or anything but it didn?t shut down immediately - The Sims was still running in the back ground. I loaded up a world and after a minute or two it died. I tried to turn it back on but I wouldn?t turn on. So I let it sit unbothered, charging for several minutes. I tried to turn it back on and nothing happened. The power button wouldn?t even light up. However, when I do press it, there?s a little red light that blinks at the bottom of my laptop. I went online and tried to find some solutions. I tried the one where you detach the battery and the charger and hold the power button down for 30-60 secs and that produced no results. I think it might be a charger issue, but how do I know for sure? Any...
