New T570 running hot

Q: New T570 running hot

Yesterday while playing a not strenuous game the laptop was quite hot, on my mac i had installed a fan control software (smcFanControl) where the OS would only be overridden when i chose to manually turn up or down the fan, i tried that with this laptop and the fan control software most highly recommended seemed to fiddly so i uninstalled it. Now the laptop is running hot with the fan on for tasks like Word where it never ran hot before. Any ideas on how to fix this? Laptop is less than two months old

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there,So far I've been using a good old T61/T60 blend. Today I received a brand new T570 students' edition (512GB SSD, 8GB Ram, nVidia graphics, UHD display).Alas, the trackpoint has a mind of his own. Vertical movements are fast and may also be precise, I can't tell for sure. However all horizontal movements are noticeably slower. Then, the pointer would move without the stick being touched, for several seconds. The trackpad is useless while the pointer is moving. Precise and fast movements as known from my old thinkpad are practically impossible. What did I try so far trying to solve the problem?- updated bios and driver via thinkvantage system update- on top of that I also tried lenovo bridge via browser, but did not find any newer driver versions- I (de)activated enhanced mouse pointer acceleration, with no effect- I also removed and reinstalled the red dot from the stick - no effect- only deactivating the trackpoint helps, it even increases the precision of the touchpad, which seems to be constantly disturbed by the trackpointWhat can I do? Send the laptop back to lenovo? To me it seems someone was incapable of programming a solid driver for the trackpoint, and I struggle to understand this because my 10 years older thinkpad does not have problems of this kind. Thank you!

I have been using this new T570 for just over a week and have noticed some really upsetting discomfort. After only a few minutes, my eyes become fatigued and I start to experience a strange chilling unpleasantness. The first time this happened, I ended up with a migraine for the rest of the day and got sick.  As a disclaimer, I have normal (20/20) vision and I have never experience any negtaive side effects of using a computer, laptop or phone before. My main driver before getting this machine was a Samsung Tab S2 (AMOLED) and occasionally a normal desktop. I also own an LG G6 (LCD). This tells me that it is not simply the technology of LCD or AMOLED that is making me sick.  I believe the T570 is an LED powered LCD screen (not sure though). This one is FHD with a matte filter.  I have looked up things like PWM but this issue seems to occur whether or not the screen is full brightness.  It took me a week to acknowledge that the issue is actually coming from the screen. I am currently using this with it plugged in to an external monitor and haven't had any negative side effects. Does anyone know what the problem could be? BTW, I also tried changing the resolution (didn't help) and zooming in to 175% (which I thought helped but it didn't). Is this just how these screens are made?Is it somehow bc of the matte finish (hard to believe) or the FHD (really hard to believe)? Is this a defective screen?Did I get stuck with a laptop that had a... Hello, one month ago I ordered a T570 with the 1TB SSD option, and have had intermittent hard drive failures from the start. The OS crashes and then the device won't appear in the boot options nor in the Lenovo diagnostics. Then it randomly works again.I have already tried re-seating the drive twice and re-seating the cables three times, but the problem persists.I have appended a log from Lenovo diagnostics where apparently the drive failed during the diagnostics run. What are my options now? I would be grateful for any suggestions. Best regards Chris

Probably, the one from Lenovo is temporarily out of stock.  In general, any RAM with similar specs will work, although there are occasional compatibility problems, especially with RAM described as "Value RAM".  I always suggest that people check the seller's return policy on any RAM they are buying.  I tend to buy whatever is cheapest.

I updated all drivers to the last versions and now it appears occasionally.I am unable to use 3840x2160 / 60Hz display resolution on external monitor (27" BenQ BL2711U UHD 4K) via DisplayPort cable connected to dock. Monitor is detected, but no video is provided. But if I change resolution to 1920x1080 / 60Hz it is working. If I connect monitor to HDMI on notebook, then it is working on 3840x2160 but only with 30Hz. Other connections like VGA and DVI are also working but they are not able to provide 4k video.I am unable to use my S/N on support pages, it is unknown.

Is it possible to have an SSD together with a HDD in the T570? I spoke to a sales rep in Australia who assured me it was possible, but advised me to contact technical support about the details; I was informed by technical support that it was not at all possible. Plugging an SSD into WWAN slot was specifically excluded by the tech rep as an option. I am asking this because in my T500, with which I have been happy for many years, I had a 256GB SSD for my OS and programs and a 1TB HDD (in the Ultrabay) for my files; the latter could be conveniently removed for transport when necessary. This set-up was not possible in the T560, for which reason I have delayed replacing my T500.

Hi, thanks in advance for your help.I have a Thinkpad T570 with a UK keyboard, I would like to swap it with a french one.I did it for many Thinkpad, but I cannot find any french keyboard for this model ... is there any way to find this keyboard? or is there a model of Thinkpad compatible with the T570 keyboard ? Best regards,

A:Thinkpad T570 - keyboard change

There are two vendors and four french keyboards available for your T570:- FRU: 01EN939, Tachi NBL KBD,FR,CHY.- FRU: 01ER552, Tachi BL KBD,FR,CHY.- FRU: 01ER511, Tachi NBL KBD,FR,LTN.- FRU: 01ER593, Tachi BL KBD,FR,LTN. CHY means Chicony and LTN - LiteON.NBL stands for non backlit and BL - backlit. If you ask me, which one vendor will be better, then in the past LiteON made pretty good keyboards and Chicony one of worst in comparison to other. I have seen, that LiteON's keyboards are available on eBay.  Keyboards for T570 are allowed to be replaced by customer, so you'll not lose warranty after replacing keyboard (obliviously, if you don't damage something in the process).

Lenovo ASP working on a users T570. Randomly, the users machine stopped recognizing the m.2 SSD that came with the system as a boot option. Would only try to boot via LAN, before failing and going to the boot menu where it would only offer LAN as an option. The diagnostics screen also wouldnt give an option to run diags on the HDD and it isnt seen in the BIOS. Assumed there was a failure with the drive cable or adapter. Replaced both and the drive still wasn't recognized. Connected the drive via a USB adapter to another PC and it spun up just fine. Thought maybe there was an issue with the system board. Replaced that and it still wouldn't recognize the drive. Tried another known working m.2 SSD and it wouldnt recognize that either. Updated the BIOS, still not being recognized. I'm completely out of ideas. Anyone got anything?

Hi guys, So I pull out my laptop this morning and it seems like the panel is busted.  There is a sliver at the top that seems to be "live", but the rest is almost like burned in stretch.  Every now and then if I'm wiggling the screen back and forth it will "refresh" and be clear for a second (but not "live", ie pointer movement does not show) and fades back into the stretch. I have it hooked up via hdmi to my tv, where I am attempting to get service bridge to work, but I figured it'd be worth posting here too.  I assume since my tv image is clear, it is not a software issue and is either the backlight drivers (if such exist) or the panel itself.  I still have 72 days of warranty, is this something that would be covered?  And if so/not, how much am I looking at for repair?

Hello, I am planning to buy T470,570 or P51s (not decided) with 500GB HDD. Can I buy a 2242 m.2 SSD from another vendor and have the Windows installed in that SSD and simultaneously use the HDD. I assume this wouldn't need any extra adapter. Read threads saying BIOS upgrade killed the m.2 2242 SSD and that made me skeptical about this. Please advice.
