Can Connect to internet but browser can't load any page.

Q: Can Connect to internet but browser can't load any page.

Suddenly i got problems with my laptop i can connect to wifi anf lan cable but browser can't load any page. I have tried all Internet options setting and deleted history. Proxy settings. Still not working.

Preferred Solution: Can Connect to internet but browser can't load any page.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Can Connect to internet but browser can't load any page.

Are you internet cannot display this webpage when attempting to load a page? Have you tried using a different browser like chrome?

I am currently on my brother's laptop. Both my firefox and chrome browser stop working yesterday. I believe it started when I receive some javascript/browser error while I was closing tabs on firefox. Kept receiving these errors for each tab closed.

I don't believe it is my internet problem as my laptop seems to be connected to my router fine.

i own a website, i made no changes to my browser, and yet suddenly, my browser (all versions of IE since i tried uninstalling 6.1) refuse to load any pages on my domain. everyone of them gets hung up at 'web site found - waiting for reply'.
i've been through the tools in my browser, and reset everything to absolute lowest settings. there are no restricted sites and no restricted settings (and never were). i uninstalled ver 6.1 and went to an older version, and nothing i try gets the pages loaded. not a single page on my home domain will load, although all other websites load as normal.
i installed netscape just to check, and it loads just fine on it, but won't load with IE.
i've ran norton corporate, browser hijacker, and lavasoft ad-aware 6 and they all say i'm clean.

what on earth is stopping my IE browser from loading the pages on my home domain? i'm at the end of my rope and any help greatly appreciated! i can't do any of the administration on my site because i can't load a single page.

Hello everybody.

I can't load any microsoft account login page in any browser on my laptop (running windows 8.1). Whether it is outlook, one drive, microsoft support forums, etc. Each time I try to load the login page I get the following errors:

In firefox: The connection was reset
In IE: This page cannot be displayed
In chrome: This webpage is not available

It was working up until yesterday, then all of sudden in the middle of the afternoon I couldn't access any microsoft login page.

As far as I can tell, these are the only pages that can't load. MSN works fine, any microsoft site works fine (outside of the login part of course). All other sites I have tried work just fine.

However, I can access my email in the Mail app that comes standard in windows 8.1 as well as on my android phone. Furthermore, I don't think that it is an ISP problem as I can easily access those pages on an old desktop computer I have and on my phone. It seems to be an issue with my laptop specifically.

I have tried restarting the computer (multiple times) and clearing the cache and cookies (multiple times).

If I can't fix this, I'm probably going to reinstall windows, but I really would like to save myself all the trouble that comes with that, especially since it's just one page that I can't get to load.

I really need help figuring this out. Any help and input would be greatly appreciated.

A:HELP Please - Browser shuts down when I try to load my banks web page... :(

hello & welcome to TSF ,

you need to post this in the (HiJack Log Help) forum of this site

if you truely do think it is because of an infection you need to follow this link & work thru the steps

but if you do not think it is an infection do this

do you have a Windows Xp cd, not the restore cd's that come with some systems, the cd will have the Windows logo & 3D hollowgram/image on it

if you do not maybe you can barrow one from a friend/family member/co-worker as long as it is the same version that is on your system

if you have (Windows XP Home Ed. sp2 ) then the cd will have to be that / if you have a cd with (Windows XP Home Ed. )you will have to slipstream (SP2 ) onto a disk that you create

this also applies to (Windows XP Professsional )

now if you do have the Windows XP cd with sp2 please follow these steps

performing a (sfc) system file checker

It is a scan that checks the core files & dlls of the (os) operating system and replaces them if they are corrupt or missing with the correct original version

#1 then select (run) , then press enter
a window will open
#2 type in ( cmd ) then press enter
another window will open
#3 type in ( sfc )then press enter
another window will open
#4 type in (sfc /purgecache) then enter / your pc ... Read more

I am using xp prof. and IE 6. When I open my home page, Yahoo, sometimes I just get a blank page. IF it loads, there is about a 2 minute wait. When that happens, if I go to another page, it will or will not load. If not, it shows the "cannot find page" site. My dsl router connections shows on, but not many or no packets. If I reboot or renew the connection, it might help for once or twice but then this happens again.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks!

Recently I discovered that windows update on my computer doesn't work anymore. When I tried to access Windows Update page , all I got is: "This webpage is not available." in google chrome. In Internet Explorer when I try the windows update link, the browser keeps closing and restarting with no success. If trying to google about this problem concerning windows update issues I also get the browser closing and restarting. Also no succes in Mozzila Firefox nor in Apple Safari. I tried all browsers with no success: windows update page is not working ( Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage), neither is it possible to update form Windows, I just can't get updates to work no matter I do.

When I tried to run Combofix to see the results, the computer freezes and I need to shutdown and restart.
I scanned my computer with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and I didn't get any objects infected.
What advice can you give me?
Thanks in advance.

PS: also on this page in this post when I tried to paste the windows update adress(link) I could not post, I get "This webpage is not available." in chrome.
In Safari: Safari can’t open the page “http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?”. The error is: “unknown error” (kCFErrorDomainWinSock:10052)
And it is only because I pasted the adress of windows update site I could not post it no matter what browser I use.

Download and run wipe  and system ninja,
Go ahead and install ccleaner Now that you have the program installed go ahead and run the cleaner function.
Now that you have cleaned out some temp files, lets go ahead and disable all of the items starting up with your machine except your antivirus. To do this you will need to click on tools then start up select each item then disable.
Now that you have disabled those un-needed start ups lets go into the settings, we will have Ccleaner run when your machine boots, so that you will never have to worry about cleaning temp files again. To do this:
Hit options.
Place a tick to run Ccleaner when the computer starts.

Now go to the advanced tab, and select close program after cleaning, now run the cleaner again this will close Ccleaner.
Reboot your machine and then follow the  instructions below.
Step 1: eScanAV.

Hello, new to the forums. Really hope someone can help me.
Recently I got infected with a virus called MS Antivirus 2009. I used Malwarebytes Anti Malware to remove it but on startup my computer stayed on a black screen before making it to the login window. When I finally got into windows(normal boot, not safe mode) I found that both IE and FireFox are not loading webpages correctly. Certain pictures are loading only half way, some pages won't even try to load and it will just say done in the bottom corner. Sometimes when opening google searches I will just get a page load error screen. Also certain buttons won't even load, they will just load as boxes of text with no graphic.
I'm running a custom built PC With windows XP
All scans show up virus free, firewalls off, did windows repair, checked all internet options, turned off most antivirus programs to see if they were blocking things but to no avail, tried reinstalling Firefox although the problems are in IE also so that step didn't even really make sense... Really just totally unsure of what to do now. I'm trying to avoid formating and reinstalling windows XP.
Anyway if anyone can help me figure this out I would appreciate it very much. Also I'm typing this on my laptop with sticky keys so I appologize if certain letters are missing from this post.

Hi All,

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Laptop, using it with Win7.

Recently, I experience an internet connection failure. It first connects to my home internet network, loads webpages perfectly. After a while, although it seems still connected it just cannot load the pages. If I wait like 5-10min, it works perfectly again. But after some time it fails and so on...

I suspect the problem was on my internet provider but I used my laptop in a friend's home and it happens there too.

This cycle repeats itself more frequently if there is another laptop in the apartment that connect to the same network I am connected.

Any idea how I can solve this problem? Please help.

I updated my ICQ and my PC has been horribly sluggish. I looked at my hijackthis log file and there are a LOT of "toolbar" entries, etc., but I don't know what I can safely 'fix.' Can someone take a look at the file and help me figure out what to get rid of?

Oh, there are tons of ICQ-related entries (too many I think).. do I need them all to run ICQ?? It always ran fine before when I didn't have all those entries (they're scattered throughout the logfile!)..but that was also an older version.

It took 24sec to load the TSG home page, yahoo home page even longer... some sites I can't get to load at all.

A:Internet is connected and will find page but will not load. PLEASE HELP

What fixes have you tried that you got from the other forums ?

That amount of lag could be down to a high error count on your line and perhaps your SNRM could do with increasing. You would need to speak to your ISP about this, then see if there's any improvement.

You could also try experimenting with your MTU or download this SpeedGuide.net :: TCP Optimizer / Downloads which will optimize it for you.

You will need to set the MTU to 1500 in your router and pc first and in the prog, click on the Custom button. There are options for it to change the adaptors for you. This will set them up in your pc but you will then need to go back into the router and set that the same.

Hi all thanks ina advance for any help! First post so hi to all. I have a problem with an internet page. I am trying to build a website and when I go to the site builder page link http://sitebuilder.websitewelcome.com/Login internet explorer cannot connect to it. I have spoken to the website and they said it is an issue with the ISP. I have asked them and they have said it is the website. I was asked to open the webpage in pagewash and it came up on there so I know it is not a problem with the website? Can anyone help me? ThanksSarah

A:Can Not Connect To A Certain Page On Internet

First, let's try the easy part; let's clear out your cache and cookies. Let's go to "Tools", "Internet Options", and then on that window that comes up make sure you delete your cookies, temporary internet files, and browser history. Once that is down, close internet explorer and re-load it and try again.

Recently, I performed a clean install of Win XP Pro SP2 (slipstreamed). Since then, every time i open, from standby, Firefox AND Internet Explorer (after network address is acquired) it takes 1-3 minutes just to load the "home page" google.com which should load fast since there's nothing to load...but it doesn't. so i tried other pages to confirm...

As it turns out, this problem only exists when loading the first page on any web browser after the wireless network resolves the IP address.

I updated my 802.11, and NIC (as recommended on this forum somewhere, though it only fixed the slow "acquiring network address" issue)

I figured that it was a WinUpdate issue (maybe missing some vital update), so i ran winupdate and SP3 was available. so i ran the SP3 install...which did not resolve the delay in loading initial internet pages.

Does anyone know why only the first page (immediately following a wireless connection) delays 1-3 minutes ("connecting to www.google.com...") to load despite the size of the page?

A:fresh install SP2=slow to load first page internet (FF & IE)

My internet pages have started to load very slowly (like 5 seconds to load). When I disable and enable the network card, they start to load at normal speed for about 30 minutes. This machine is running windows 7 64 bit. Another machine connected to same router is running XP and doesnt seem to have the same issue.

Using google chrome.

Can anyone provide some advice to fix this problem?

Thank you.

I recently bought a new Laptop which has windows Vista, for some reason when it loads intenet pages (especially eBay) it seems to load the page fully (bottom left corner of window says done) but the egg timer (now a circle on Vista) keeps the explorer page frozen for as long as 2 or 3 minutes sometimes?

It is not eBay itself as it does not do this on other PC's in the house (none on Vista)
I am not sure if it is coincidence or not but when the page finally unfreezes some Gif images seem to appear at the same time as if these are stopping the loading of the page.
However I am not convinced this is something to do with it as other Gif images load no problem.

It does seem very slow on other internet sites as well but eBay is especially slow.

Does eBay have issues with Vista?

Thx in advance for any helpers!

While my Windows XP desktop was sitting idle, it developed a bug in IE 6. Any attempt to use it resulted in the "page cannot be displayed" message after it searched for site I noticed my home page had been reset to the Microsoft one. Normally it is www.dellnet.com, so I set it back to that and still got the same result. However, it does work if set to about:blank, and if I enter the dellnet.com address in google, it opens up as it normally should. Any ideas? Thanks

A:Solved: Internet Explorer won't load home page

The only way I could reach dellnet was www.dellnet.msn.com. Your posted link would not open.

OK... I have been having connectivity issues since August now..

I have had my Acer laptop with Vista for a year. The wireless internet always worked absolutely fine. Then, one day in August, I suddenly couldn't get online. It showed that I was connected to the internet but wouldn't let me load any web pages.

I initially tried resetting the router/modem, etc, but that didn't change anything. Then, my mom tested her laptop on the network, and it worked (and continues to work fine). So, I figured the problem was something with my laptop. I tried basically everything I could think of and find on the internet. Virus scans- nothing. Winsock fix- nothing. Ip renew/release- nothing. And so on and so forth. I finally reformatted the computer, and even that didn't fix it.

At this point I assumed it might be a hardware issue, and have been procrastinating on sending it into acer.

Well, last week my mother was in the hospital. I brought my laptop up to watch DVDS on. On a whim, I tried the internet. It worked!

So, the issue is not hardware, but something with my network...

Yesterday, I tried resetting the router again. I installed updated router firmware. I called comcast and Belkin. Belkin had me run all kinds of tests that show that I do have an internet connection and I am connecting to the router. But, for some reason, my computer is not letting me go that extra step on my home network. It's like vista locked my computer down on my network. I've shut off all firewalls.. .... Read more

This has become a real nightmare/living hell as of recent. Up until I downloaded IE9, my browsers worked immaculately. I didn't like IE9 so I removed it and put back IE8, when I did this I noticed that it still keeps the shiny new logo from IE9 but I thought nothing of it. A few days ago, ALL of the internet browsers I have are failing to load anything anymore. I usually use IE and Mozilla the most but I also have Safari, Chrome and Opera and if any of these exceed 100,000 KB under memory in the task manager (upon using these from a computer startup), they either stop loading things or just become abysmally slow. I ran a virus scan just to see if I had one. Turns out I had a virus called 'Induc.A' which infects other files, according to MSE. I removed this but there was still no difference. I know there is nothing wrong with my internet connection.

I'm totally stumped... what can I do?

EDIT: I believe this actually infected more than just the browsers, because I just discovered that Windows Live Mail doesnt open either...

A:Any Internet Browser I use will NOT load ANYTHING.

If you believe your computer might be infected, please click on Report and kindly ask to be moved to the Virus & Other Malware Removal forum. Be sure to provide the appropriate reports in that forum after reading THIS. From there, be patient. The malware removal experts are very busy! You should get an answer within the next 48 hours.

Dear Tech Guy. I have an eMachine laptop/notebook model eMachines D620 running windows vista. I was connecting to the internet using a 3G card and loaded AVG afterwards and could not connect. I subsequently removed it and turned off my firewall. I then connected to the Internet through a wireless access point using my Samsung Galaxy S mobile. I do connect to the Internet but cannot load any Browser pages. Both Internet Explorer shows "cannot display the web page"and Mozilla Firefox shows "unable to connect". I have entered the four commands in MS DOS the following as seen in a previous blog below. I hope this assists you in identifying the problem and providing me with a solution. The TSG SysInfo did not work, so I could not include the results here.
