I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A:pc only loads in safemode, input not supported

you can't do anything
the black screen & red warning is because you have a pirated/trial/un activated version of vista

until you install a legitimate version of vista or W7 we can't & won't help
this is now closed come back when you have a fully licenced version of windows

all I will say is that in safe mode, you start in VGA mode with 800 x 600 resolution ( normally) with windows standard drivers
in normal mode the computer is probably loading at a higher resolution than the monitor is designed to deal with

Hello, this technically could be combined/should be posted in my other topic, but this is an urgent need..

If you read my other topic about my monitor tinting, it is indeed my monitor, not my video card, not my power supply, and nothing to do with the computer itself. But, right now my monitor is fine to use other than the tinting.. I will be replacing the monitor with another monitor in the VERY near future. The only problem is that I tested the monitor on Windows XP and it worked fine on the computer with Windows XP (the one I'm writing this from) except the fact that it's also tinting on XP. This monitor says "Works With Windows Vista". It's an Acer x193w LCD monitor. I believe it's 20" or something close to that. I thought the monitor would have no problem from going to Vista -> XP - > Vista, but apparently something changed in the monitor that isn't allowing my computer with Vista to use it again. There are two slots on my new computer, one lower and one that makes the cord attach sideways, the bottom slot when attaching the monitor cord says "Input Not Supported", which means I'm guessing this is the right slot, as I do not remember which slot I originally used it on, and then the other slot says "No Signal". I've read on the internet about something about called "Refresh Rate", but I've never used it before and have no clue how to use it.. If it involves interaction with the com... Read more

If its a resolution issue you need to try and boot into safe mode. Do you get anything onscreen at start up or does it go immeadiately into unsupported mode?

I've never tried to get into Vista safe mode so I don't know, is it still done by tapping the F8 key or the F5 to get the boot menu? Anyway, once booted into safe mode you will be able to see the screen and reset the resolution to a supported one if that is the problem.

A:NO INPUT SUPPORTED--Desktop Computer Stuck On Input Not Supp...

Hi there @145755, I hope you find your Support Forum experience a positive one!  It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.  I understand that you have changed a setting on your computer and now the display is not working.  I am happy to give you a hand with this. Please post the full product number for your computer. See the following, if you need help with that information.  HP Desktop PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number, Serial Number or Product Number? I would suggest you try to start your computer in Safe mode to load basic screen settings. See this document: HP PCs - Windows Safe Mode (Windows 10, 8). As you are unable to see the display properly at this time you will need to follow the process described for "Entering Safe Mode without access to Startup Settings".  If you are able to get in, then make the needed adjustments to your display settings, then restart your system normally to see if the display will come up properly. If not try a different screen resolution. Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

Windows automatically updated last night before shutting down. When I turned on the computer this morning, the HP w2207h monitor was not functioning properly. Each time I rebooted, I received the message "HDMI Input: No Input Signal" before the monitor went to sleep.

I do not believe it is a problem with the sleep and display settings as I have dual monitors and the EN9910 is functioning properly; both are set to NEVER anyway. Further, I have plugged our SONY television into the HDMI port and it works just fine.

I have also plugged the monitor into another computer, using the same cable, and both worked just fine. The hp monitor also functions in the utility mode. Problem seems to exist only when Starting Windows.

This has happened once before with a Windows Update, but I don't recall the solution.

Please help.

Thanks.

A:HDMI Input: No Input Signal -- Monitor Going to Sleep

Hello and welcome aspen can you just make sure the driver for that monitor is ok.

Software & Driver Downloads HP w2207h 22 inch LCD Monitor | HP? Support

But mate I also think you may have answered it yourself in another way. Can you remember when this started happening? If so system restore back to before that date.

Then it is just a matter of downloading any updates if this is what is - one or two at a time until you find which one is the culprit. Make a not of that one and each time it comes up untick it to download / install.

I have an HP Pavilion A6421.uk computer with an HP w2007v monitor. (The OS is Windows Vista).I've been getting the message "VGA Input - No Input Signal" and the monitor appears to be in sleep mode permanently. I've checked all the connections, cables etc and I have also connected the monitor to an old computer, where it worked fine. I'm guessing I need a new graphics card but don't know how to go about changing it. I have
opened up the box and cleaned it all out, but am not sure what to do now.

Could I take out the graphics card from the old computer and put it in the new one? The old computer is a Dell Dimension 5000 (Windows XP).
Or would it be an option to swap hard drives? (I urgently need to access my work but the old computer got a virus and doesn't work properly).I don't know the first thing about hardware really, so wondered what any of you would recommend I do:
1. Just buy a new graphics card and replace the old one - in which case, what would I buy?
2. Put the graphics card from the old machine into the new one. How do I do this and does anyone have any diagrams?
3. Swap the hard drives so that I use the old box with the new monitor. (this is probably a stupid idea, but who knows).

Please help!!

That message is coming from your monitor itself I believe and not from the computer.

Its saying that there is no video signal, which idicates that the computer has probably not even booted up?

Is the computer actually booting (keyboard lights flash, HDD light flicking) after you power it on?

Hello, my computer was recently hacked into, and I'm facing this strange problem.

To my knowledge, the hacker maxed my screen resolution, and force-shutdown my computer.

I went into my BIOS to see if any other damage was done, but everything checks out ok.

I don't know the resolution of my computer monitor, but I know that it doesn't support what it's currently set to. Is there a way I can undo this resolution change?

Some of my friends said that I should hook my computer up to a high-res monitor to fix/undo the problem, but I don't have any friends with high-res computers.

Would there be any other way of fixing this problem? I would greatly appreciate any advice given. Thank you.

Hello
I have a question about setting my nvidia graphics card
Refresh rate to standard 60 hertz.
I found a link to this issue but i wonder if it stays the same after adjusting it
Screen Refresh Rate - Custom for NVIDIA Brand

The main problem is i try to play SWTOR but after pressing launch i think it puts my refreshrate to 75 which my acer monitor cant support.

I tried to adjust my ini file but it resets to default and says input not supported.
I know i dont have specs but anyone know this problem and have a solution?

A:Input not supported

"...I tried to adjust my ini file but it resets to default and says input not supported..." Assuming you mean SWTOR's ini file; have you already contacted SWTOR help? I'm hoping they can provide an answer on how make SWTOR work with 60Hz and not trying to force 75Hz.
I remember in the old days of Windows 3.1 - WFW 3.11, to get a better resolution, I would "lie" to Windows and tell it I was using another monitor. However, I never ever did that for a refresh rate; I was told to use 60Hz, and forever after - 60Hz

Here's a strange problem I'm having.  After downloading a file from ms.fixit website I lost my video screen function.

I've tried uninstall prog.. del prog..  restore to before download..at least 6 times... checked my video drivers they seem to be ok...  I'm about ready to try a sys restore to out of box condition, do you think that would work..

A:input not supported msg..

Hi linked_up Doing a Factory Reset/Restore will indeed solve that issue, since you'll basically be doing a reinstallation of Windows, along with the programs that came with it when you bought your computer/laptop. May I ask why you downloaded a Microsoft FixIt? What were you attempted to solve with it? Also, it looks to me like your monitor is set to a resolution that isn't supported (higher than what it can actually display), hence the error message. It works in Safe Mode because the graphic drivers aren't loaded, so you're just using a basic display on a low resolution.

Hi all,

So, I upgraded my monitor to Acer 20" AL2016WB LCD monitor and as I power up the system; the system boots up to windows xp loading screen but doesn't go to log in option screen. The screen switch to black screen with a moving window with the following message "input not supported".

I thought the video card driver might be not compatible so I tried the window's recovery option "R" and I was able to see the recovery process and installation process on the screen but everytime I bootup the system the system goes up to the windows xp loading screen. Can someone help me out on this.

Hi all, I'm having an issue with my acer X173W monitor and getting it to display the resolution I want. I have searched here and other forums and haven't found quite the same problem that I have. I'm running dual desktops off my Asus laptop with Vista 64 Home Premium. When I setup my extended desktop on the acer monitor I would like it to have the same height dimension as my laptop screen- 1200dpi. What happens when i choose the 1600x1200 resolution is this - the Input Not Supported bubble starts to move across the acer monitor, BUT, I can see my background image and any windows I drag over there appear just fine and are usable. If I choose a higher resolution, ie. 1920x1440, the monitor goes black and says Input Not Supported. Has anyone else had this issue and gotten it fixed? Ideally I would like the acer to display the same resolution as my laptop (1920x1200) but that's not totally necessary.

Thanx in advance
Stoon

I put the monitor, AoC 21.5, back on the old computer and it was fine. Resolution was set to 1920x1080. Is this game related? If so, how can I fix it? SWToR help seems to think its a Windows issue. Other sites mention a refresh rate conflict, but I can't get back to Windows to try and figure that out.

I purchased an Acer 19" widescreen monitor 2 months ago, but last week I had a problem with my computer and had to reset it back to manufacturer settings. The problem had nothing to do with the monitor and I didn't have any problems with the monitor until after resetting. Since resetting, occasionally my computer freezes and the monitor goes black with the message 'input not support' bouncing around the screen. Rebooting brings my computer back to working order again, but eventually it happens again (on an average of 2-3 times a day). I have only noticed it happening when I am playing games, but it doesn't happen all the time. I have sat here for hours playing a game and nothing happens. Then another time playing the same game, it freezes and displays 'input not supported'.

I have uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled the drivers, updated the drivers, the settings for this size monitor are set correctly, including the refresh rate, checked the settings of the buttons on the monitor itself and tried standing on my head. I don't know what else to try.

I have done a search of the net and have found this to be a very common problem but haven't found a solution that works.

Can anyone help with this problem, please?

I have been working on this a while and can't seem to make any progress. I am running XP on a Compaq 5900z with AMD 600Mhz-256Megs RAM-C: (FAT32) 30514 MB (17488 MB free),D: (FAT32) 7617 MB (6531 MB free). I am using a LiquidVideo 17" monitor and at every bootup I get an input not supported message on my screen while the bootup is taking place. After bootup the message disappears and everything works just fine. Then intermittently the screen will either freeze, or go to black. Sometimes the screen will reset itself and come back up and other times I have to shutdown manually and reboot with things starting all over again. Some days this freezing doesn't happen at all and everything works just fine. I have updated drivers for the monitor, and uninstalled and reinstalled the ATI graphics program twice now(RADEON 9200 Series). I have tried various refresh speeds for the monitor, and still can't seem to make any progress. I have run antivirus(AVG), CW-Schredder, Registry Mechanic, Ad-Aware SE, Spybot, and PC Bug. All show clear. Also I am running Zone Alarms firewall. This is getting old really fast and I need some help from someone a lot more skilled in troubleshooting procedures than myself. Any help would be very much appreciated, Thanks in advance--Lost in Texas

OK, so I just did a major upgrade to my computer. New CPU, motherboard, ram, and graphics card. Everything is working great except my acer AL1916W monitor. I have it plugged in to the DVI port on my new XFX HD 6770, but the only resolution I can get working is 640x480 (actually, if I use the AMD Vision Engine Control Center with the HDTV support option, I can also get 720p60 working with it). Any other resolutions and the monitor just says "Input not supported"

The monitor's native resolution is 1440x900, and it was working fine this morning on my old Geforce 9800gt (with DVI)

I tried plugging it in to the VGA port as well, and it seemed to work fine with that, the only problem is, I have a second monitor, and the only input it supports is VGA, and the XFX card only has one VGA port, so I cant have both monitors using VGA...

I have the latest CCC drivers and stuff. I just cant figure out what is wrong...

A:XFX HD 6770 and Acer Monitor on DVI - Input not supported.

Give another shot at installing the latest drivers for the new card.
ATI Catalyst

If you have created any multi-monitor profiles delete them before installing the new driver.

this is not normal behavior but it seems more software than hardware.
the newer ati cards prefer you use the catalyst center for everything multiple monitor related. and it will actually freak out sometimes if you try to mess with it from the windows display options.

On all browsers my pages will not load most of the time or may start but freeze shortly after. It is also taking forever for the browser itself to load. Chrome seems to be the worst. In my previous post after running a program and reboot I got a floating box "Input Not Supported" box that bounces around the screen like a screensaver and stays on top of everything else. I also noticed I keep hearing clicking noises from the speakers also. Thank you so much for your help.

Free Windows 10 upgrade worked successfully on my system until I changed the monitor resolution. Now I'm booting to a black screen, no cursor, with the following error: Dell S2340M - the ucrrent input timing is not supported by this monitor display. Please change your inpiut timing to 1920 X 1080.... From viewing other sites, it looks like I need a boot disk

A:The current input timing is not supported by this monitor

The traditional fix is to boot the PC in Safe Mode. That boots at a resolution and frame rate that is allowed by most monitors.

However, that may be semi-broken in Win 10. A USB Recovery Drive could be useful, but if you haven't already made one, it may be hard to do that.

Another option:

http://www.asus.com/support/faq/1013074/

The PC will allow you to go into safe mode if the boot up fails a couple of times. I don't recall ever invoking that deliberately. You may be able to get into it by shutting the PC down by holding down the power button.

Best of luck.

Hi. So I'm not entirely sure what I did but I was using AMD Catalyst control center and I clicked on something and my monitor began displaying "Input not supported". I restarted my computer and once windows loaded up it began displaying it again. Ive been trying for some time now to find a solution. I found that safe mode does in fact work. If I go into safe mode I can delete my video drivers and restart my computer. At that point my computer will start normally and run normally for the most part(It seems I can't play games in this state). It will automatically reinstall my video drivers. Once the drivers are reinstalled and the computer restarts the problem begins again.

A:after one hour my desktop shows input not supported

So you are saying that if your restart your computer, it works for an hour, then the error pops up? And then you can restart and it works OK for another hour?

Hello my friends,

I have a Acer Monitor which can support 1366x768... I'm trying to increase my screen resolution to 1600x1200 60Hz but its not allowing me even though Intel HD adds it on...

What can I do or what screen resolutions can support my monitor.

A:Intel HD 4400 Custom Resolution Input Not Supported.

You can't physically go beyond the maximum resolution of the display.

That monitor is the bare minimum required to run Windows 8.
What you can do is either use the monitor with it's very unpleasant resolution, or purchase a better monitor, capable of a higher resolution.

Mac girl freaking!

Moved her boyfriend's monitor tonight to set it up to watch a movie and now getting "input not supported". It's an Acer flat screen monitor. About a year old. Computer runs Windows. No difference in safe mode (holding down F8 key after starting with power button on the computer). Get same message. No response from other buttons on the monitor. Tried reattaching cable on both ends. Made sure I was turning on monitor first, before power on computer.

No TV or other monitor to try to hook up.

What next?!

A:Input Not Supported - So Far Research Hasn't Turned Up Answer

My boyfriend was quite sane about the whole thing...he did the same thing I did and reconnected cables etc. The next day he moved monitor back down to desk level, and walah, it is now working again (except with all the button pushing on the monitor itself or perhaps the disconnect the resolution is off). We suspect in the final analysis the issue is the cable. Crossing fingers it is a $9 solution from Office Max. For the time being we just haven't moved the monitor again!

I have had a problem loading a game on the Steam application. This has only started happening today. I am getting a 'message  Dell E1708. The current input timing is not supported by the monitor display./ please change your input timing to 1280*[email protected] or any other monitor listed timings as per the monitor specifications'
I have ensured that these timings have been set up in settings on my pc but is still happening. This exact same thing happened with the origin game platform but after I uninstalled  and reinstalled origin it was fine but the Steam game is still saying the same .
I have a Dell Optiplex 745 that is running on Windows 10.
Please advise if .
Thanks

Ok, I have this issue that I am going to guess is related to my video card but would liek some input from some more advanced people.

When I boot the pc I see the bios mfg screen and then it happens. The next thing I see on my screen is "No signal input" At other times, like as I was typing this, after the pc had been on only about 7 minutes, the monitor will show "No signal input"

What has me a little confused is this. I use a program called teamspeak, which allows me to talk with my gaming friends. When I get the no signal input and the screen goes blank, I cannot continue to talk to my friend and I cannot hear him either. If this was solely a video card issue wouldn't I still be able to talk and hear?

I have tried another monitor and unfortunately this MB does not have on board video.

Thank you

A:No Signal input

Double check all of the connections and that the Graphics card is seated fully in its slot.
If trying another monitor try another cable to eliminate if the cable or connectors have become faulty.
Ensure you are using the native settings of the monitor, or even try it with reduced resolution to see if that makes a difference. If using DVI try a VGA cable if you can.
If you can try a different PSU as well.

Hey guys, can somebody give me an idea what is wrong with my desktop?

This was built/assembled in 2010. Everything works fine until I got the No input signal on monitor recently. Replaced my old graphic card "MSI GeForce GTS 250 N250GTS Twin Frozr 512MB 256-Bit GDDR3" with "EVGA GeForce GT 610 2048MB GDDR3." Computer turn on fine with display. Went to manufacturer's website to install latest driver. Selected Win7's and didn't bother to uninstall old driver since it's NVIDIA -> NVIDIA?

Everything was working (almost) perfectly the other day. Upgraded from window 7 to a Win10. Did a clean reset, so there was a lot of restarting. During 1 or 2 restart, there is a black screen for a minute but the mouse arrow is still visible. Everything then seems normal.

Now I'm getting "No input signal" again. Did I get a defective graphic card? because I haven't re-update to latest Win10 driver? or is something wrong with my mobo?
Here's my computer's spec:

- Mobo: EVGA P55 LE 123-LF-E653-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel
- RAIDMAX SMILODON Case With 500W Power Supply
- (current) GPU: EVGA GeForce GT 610 2048MB GDDR3
- CPU: Intel Core i3-530
- memory: CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
- HDD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ/ST500DM005 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache

Thanks!

HI and welcome to TSG.

What is the exact make and model of the PSU? I am assuming it is probably a cheap unit if it came in the case, and at 5 years old and a GPU upgrade it is probably at the end of its life.

NVidia driver packages are fairly generic but it is good practice to uninstall / reinstall for a new GPU.

I'm running my monitor through a dvi connection all connections are good but its real frustrating that i have to restart everything each time i want to use my computer. I've updated the driver for my video and i am running the ATI Catalyst control Center on Graphics Chipset 256MB ATI Radeon X1300PRO. I'm completely clueless so any help will do.

Thanks,

be sure to look to see if your moniter is not set to shut off, look in the power settings in your control pannel. There should be some settings to shut down your moniter and hd after a certain amount time that has been allocated.

I have Windows XP SP2.
I have changed the monitor, same problem.
I have changed the Graphics card back to my previous card (which was working when i took it out originally), same problem.
The fan on the motherboard is working but after changing the Graphics card i got an increased whirring sound but could not locate its whereabouts.
The hard Drive does not sound as if it is starting up.
There are no warning beeps.
I did not move my computer prior to the shut down.
I have checked all leads, unplugged replugged.
I have sprayed the monitor lead.
Any suggestions would be great!

Hi, so here is the problem, my computer worked fine for the past 5 months thought i recently moved and left the computer in my new home unused for about 2 wks. Though now when i connect the computer completly i get "no input signal" on the monitor. The computer works fine when I check it inside and such, and the monitor works fine. Perhaps on the long drive moving it, the hard drive got bumped too much and messed up? That is the main thing im wondering may be wrong, though shouldnt i have received a hard drive error instead of nothing at all.... Any help would be great!, thanks.

Dual core processor 3.2ghz
evga geforce gx5950
2gb ocz 1kmhz
10krpm 240gb hd
700watt psu

Oh and on the move my power cables got moved around, could it be that the power cord im using isnt compatible enough to allow enough power?? i doubt, but maybe?

A:No Input Signal

Make sure that the CPU heatsink and fan hasn't come loose and check all the internal power supply connections. Check to see that the video card is seated fully and make sure you are not connecting the monitor to the on-board video connector instead of the video card connector... Don't laugh, I have seen some people do this!

All the cables were plug correctly and tightly but still. All the cpu fans working properly.
