image quality disappears b-4 your eyes....

Q: image quality disappears b-4 your eyes....

Hello/ help!
When I download images from the web the longer they display on the screen the more the quality starts to disappear.

You can especially see it along the edges, as you watch the image, after about an hour the image is so grainy that it no longer looks like the original image.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This is a 2013 Toshiba Lx835-D325 all-in-one with a 3rd generation Intel i7 CPU. Originally had a 2 TB HDD and takes a 180 watt AC adapter.

The screen shows a "no media found" message for 5 seconds when first engaged by attaching the AC adapter plug, then fades back to a black screen. The power button starts the machine but no display image is revealed unless detaching and then re-attaching the power plug. The power button lights and starts the computer but fails to engage a display image. Could it be the power switch? The small power switch board is shown in the last picture.

I'm working on a Powerbook with OS x.3 Jaguar, classic mode 9.2.
When working in Photoshop 6 in classic mode, the cursor (tools), disappear over the image, but then reappears outside the image. However, the move tool and the cropping tool act normal.

I've trashed the Photoshop prefs, reset the tools, and re-installed the software. Is there something else I can try to solve this perplexing problem?

Thanks, Mindy

A:Photoshop 6 cursor disappears over image

is it just certain tools that you can't see? eg pen tool or paintbrush? Your paintbrush size might just be so small (eg 1 pixel) and your image so large that you just can't see it, unless you're zoomed in of course. Try upping the size of the tool if so.

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum...first post!

Yesterday I upgraded my 4+ year old Linksys 54G router to a Netgear N600. The Netgear allows me to configure networks at 2.4 and 5 ghz. According to the instruction manual, I should use the 5 ghz for video streaming and such, which I did. I have a 2-3 year old Roku. After I rebooted it and logged in to my 5 ghz network I noticed that the video quality was a bit noisier than it used to be. Is it possible that the 5 ghz configuration is degrading the image quality of streaming videos? The router is located upstairs and the TV/Roku are downstairs. Any help is very much appreciated.

I have a small image file that's about 10.6 KB, I usually open it with Windows Photo Gallery. When I try to enlarge it using the wheel on my mouse to get a better look of it, all I can see are the pixels! (very blur)

I wonder if there're any programs that I can use to keep the quality of the image even when it became large, just like the computer expert at the movie help the FBI to enhance the quality of the surveillant tape with a few click.

Any helps are appreciated.

A:How can I keep the quality of a image even when it gets large?

That which you see on TV, well let me explain it to you in one word.

I've been working with graphics applications for years. It's not possible to take a surveillance camera's video footage, take one of the frames and enhance a section from an already ridiculously pixelated image, then clear it up and make it look like a 13 megapixel camera took the picture. Although Hollywood will tell you it is (and a lot of people).

Sorry dude.

Hello people,

So my question basically is which cards give the best image quality? I was going to build a little budget pc with an Ati x1950xtx. I feel that this should be able to handle pretty much everything out there with really good performance coupled with an AMD 6000 x2. Then again for the price I could get an 8800 gts.

Whats your opinions?

A:Best Image Quality Cards

Anything ATI used to beat anything Nvidia in image quality, but no more. Pretty much every video card out there has the same image quality. If you are talking about Frames Per Second... that is totally different. The 8800GTX/GTS and the ATI Radeon HD 2900XT are the best performing video cards out there, followed (not so closely) by the ATI X1900/1950 series, and the Nvidia 7800/7900 series.

Hello all,

This is so odd that i don't even know how to start searching the internet for answers. I'm hoping someone here can help us out.

I have a single computer running windows xp (all latest service packs and updates) with multiple user accounts (for home use). 2 accounts are Administrator Accounts, and 2 are Limited Accounts (not sure if this is important or not). We have an ATI All-in-Wonder 9600 series video card and a Samsung LCD monitor.

I have noticed that still image splash screens that often show up in video games look crappy on both of the Admin accounts, but look great on the Limited accounts. Attached is an example ("my logon" refers to an admin account, "mackenzie's logon" refers to a limited account).

I have tried creating new limited and administrator accounts, but the image quality is poor for both. In reviewing the Display Settings, everything seems to be the same (resolution, refresh rate, monitor type... etc.) for all accounts on the computer.

I once went into the registry to make it so that none of the Limited Users can turn off the computer. Final thing i can recall doing is blocking all "questionable" web sites for Limited Users through my antivirus software (Kaspersky 7). These are the only things (that i can recall) that differ between the admin and limited accounts.

Any ideas of possible reasons for the difference in image quality would be greatly apprecaited.

Does the same difference occur on any other type of image, or only these in games?

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and now the image on both my external monitors is very poor. I downloaded  and installed the monitor drivers but it made no difference. I've played with adjusting the resolution, resetting the montors to the factor default but still no improvement. I've restarted monitors and the PC. I've reinstalled the monitor driver too but again still no improvement. What's really odd is some web pages are expanded while other are smaller. This HP site is normal size but the fonts are still very blurry.  Outlook fonts are extremely blurry. I even connected a different external monitor but it has the same issue. The image on my HP laptop is excellent. Any suggestions?

I bought a Canon Digital IXY 800 IS/SD700 just about a year ago online. It's a great camera features and size wise, but ever since I got it I have been having trouble with image quality. The photos come out grainy. Stupidly I didn't think too much of it to return it right away.

Is it possible that it is actually a camera issue, or a user issue (ie I am doing something wrong)? Is there a setting or something like that? Even if I just set it to Auto mode, I have the same problem. With my friend's camera, taking the same pictures, I don't get the graininess.

I would attach a photo but the file sizes are too large. If I make them smaller, you don't fully see the grain issue.

Any ideas?

there is something which i noted recently.
when you install windows 7 and windows xp,there is a difference in color quality of both the OS. any image(on desktop wallpaper) would appear more vibrant and brighter in windows 7 than XP, is it something which i noticed or is it something that is real.
is it due to some directX or some other thing?

can this be achieved on windows xp?

p.s with image quality i meant the graphics quality with same wallpaper on both OS.there is difference in color vibrancy and hue saturation on same machine, same lcd.

A:[SOLVED] windows xp vs 7 - image quality

Win7 allows you to calibrate the color on the display> Change color management settings

But first make sure you are using the latest nvidia drivers> Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Have the resolution set the same on both installations.

And if there is a driver disk for your monitor make sure that has been installed.

Ok, I have a website of racing photographs from the early 70's(www.yesterdaysneuz.com) and I am using an Epson 3200 scanner. I am scanning the negatives and color slide images at 300 DPI. By default, it gets me the full framed negative at 4x6. If I don't use that and select the size of, let's say, an 8x10, I don't get the full frame of the negative. Only by scanning a 11x17 can I get full frame. But obviously, the Megabites are increased dramatically. So far I have scanned about 4000 negatives or slides using the 11x17 way but I am at about 50gig of space. I have atleast that many more to scan if not more.

There are times that I need to have the photos at an 8x10 because someone has purchased it.

Am I better off scanning at 4x6 or 11x17? I am more concerned about the best quality than anything else.

Thanks for your help,

A:Scanning an image. Want best quality but have a few questions

As a general rule you want enough information in a digitized photo to be able to print one to one at 300dpi. Then it just becomes a calculation to get the optimum scan resolution without getting extraneous info that just increases the filesize and wastes hard drive space.

So in order to print 10 inches in one dimension (don't worry about the other, just take the longest) you need 3000 pixels (300 per inch) for a high quality print.

Slides and negatives are small so that can be a problem. If say for example the slide was two inches on one side then you would need to scan at 100%x1500 dpi to get the 3000 pixels you need for printing (assuming there is enough detail in the original to get that kind of detail from such a high resolution scan). You are expressing the same dimension conversion when you pick the 11x17 size but I don't know if that's about the same or not. I stick to dpi when I make my calculations. If its 300 dpi and 17 inches then yeah that's more than you need.

Was up til 4 this morning try to fix this and have had no luck by trying updating graphic card drivers, system restore (which failed to complete :S), resetting monitor, and eventually restoring pc to facotry settings.

The problem started last night when I tried to put some old images from xp computer on to my new Vista one (xmas present so only had a few days and no problems til this). I transferred some jpegs by CD and some videos by my Archos AV500 DVR player.

Since then normal images have been fine, like windows bars etc, but anything that is in jpeg format has suddenly become either grainy or blocky with most colours (e.g. greens, blacks, browns), although some remain clear and normal. So stuff affected includes obviously jpeg files, including the Sample Pictures (which were bloody impressive before on my monitor) and images on the web like photos.

My specs are:
HP w1907v Monitor 19" widescreen set to 1440x900 with 60 hertz (the recommended)

Hp Pavilion Slimline s3240:
Vista 32-bit
AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor 4400+
500GB hard disk
ATI Radeon HD2400 PRO with Avivo - 256MB dedicated memory, up to 1023MB total available graphics memory as allocated by Vista
TV Tuner Card (analog and DVB-T)

I think that's all that could possibly be relevant but please let me know if I need to give more specs.

I would really appreciate any help with this as I can't think of how to sort it and it's really bugging me.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Whenever I access a folder containing pictures, the thumbnails for them generate -- and I can actually see them. But this only lasts for a few seconds; the thumbnails get replaced by Vista's generic landscape icon. I'm not sure when this problem started -- at first, I was not bothered by it, since I wasn't working with my photos, so I didn't pay attention to it. But it has persisted for at least a month, in all folders with pictures in them. And I've made sure that the "Show thumbnails" options were set in both "Folder Options" and "Advanced System Settings". Maybe it was from me changing the registry a long time ago? I'm not sure. So, if someone knows a key I could check to turn on/off thumbnails, that would be useful.Or, if you have any other idea how this problem occurred, I'd be really grateful. Thank you!

I have a PowerPoint 2007 presentation in which I've linked a large number of one-page PDF documents. These docs were originally scanned from hardcopies, and the quality in many of them is only fair.

The images as they appear in PowerPoint are not as good as the originals; in the case of fine text, they are barely legible.

The alternative would be to open the docs in Adobe Reader, stretch them to a large size, copy the image and paste it into PowerPoint. These images are definitely cleaner and more legible, but the copy-and-paste process would take much longer than inserting links (which I'm doing with a very fast macro).

I'm hoping that someone knows of some setting I can change that will improve the image quality for the several dozen existing links; failing that, what else can I do that's faster than starting over with the copy-and-paste?

Greetings - I'll try to be brief and hope that someone can point me in the right direction. My question is about preserving the resolution quality of images within an epub and/or mobi document created from html that was built in word (filtered) and edited in expression web. The html with the illustrations looks good in word and great in web browsers as an html
something is lost in translation to the mobi and epub formats (to say the least). I've used both the proprietary converters from barnes and noble and amazon as well as Calibre (which worked better than both the others). I've also found that 2 of my jpgs end up as gif in the conversion process and they look the worst.
SO -
my question is does someone know something I don't that could save me a few days of research, trial and error? Is it the change from jpg to gif in the conversion and if so how do i prevent this, etc...

Have you looked at Smashwords? They have a file you can download to tell you how to set a book the way they want it. It might help with the problem, but the Smashwords format is slightly different from the Kindle (Amazon) format.

I just bought a new laptop and tried the HDMI, but there is no audio and the image is poor.

It's an Asus X501A with Pentium 2020M Ivy Bridge and Intel HD Graphics.

I tried changing the output resolution, to tweak the audio properties, etc.

No success.

Any idea?

A:HDMI on TV no audio, poor quality image

Video and sound are separate, although both should be in the HDMI signal - IF THE PC Supports this.

When you plug in the HDMI cable most system will change the default audio playback device to HDMI. However, it sounds like yours is not doing this. With the HDMI cable plugged in, go to the Sound Panel, Playback section. the HDMI should be set as the default Playback device.

If you still cannot get HDMI audio, contact ASUS, since this is a new PC (or the place where you purchased it).

Dell Picture Studio Image Expert for Image Editing

Whenever I capture and save a pre-defined screen area image using ScreenPrint32 I am not entirely happy with the image quality.

Notice the "white spots" or "speckling" that surround most of the text as seen here in this unedited version:
I use Dell Picture Studio's Image Expert to edit my pix and again I mention that the image above is unedited or resized it's 1:1....this condition exists when I first view the image after saving into Image Expert and prior to using UploadIt! So, it would have nothing to do with the UploadIt! Image Hosting process.

If I want to resize the image from, in this case, 792x143 Pixels down to a more practical 492x87 Pixels size for Forum Thread viewing, the image quality and text clarity/sharpness is even more deformed as shown in the following image.
Here I simply resized the image:

How can I optimize the image quality?
Switch to an alternate Image Editor?

Since I really don't know what these things do..exactly, I'm not sure if I really can set them to a manual access. How do I know if I need them? Do I?

Two problems, related in timing.

On July 1st, I made some adjustments to my startup config and such, and ever since then I've been having problems where my IE and Windows Media Player freeze for a few seconds when loading (though without interrupting data)

But most important of which is that since that time, my HP Factory Image D:\ drive has disappeared. It never served me any purpose, but it always just sat there in my Hard Disk lists on my Computer screen, and is conspicuous in its absence.

I checked my Disk Management and found that the 12 GB where the "D" drive was had become "Unallocated". Before I did something stupid, I checked to Rescan Drives, and it re-found the Factory Image! From then on, the FACTORY_IMAGE (D shows up in my Computer.

But after a few days I found that it was no longer showing on my Computer window, and realized that after restarting or shutting down my comp, it would always disappear, only to re-appear when I rescan my disks.

What's the problem? What service do I need to restore/fix to stop this from happening?

Somewhat related question: Would getting a whole new motherboard and CPU but retaining the old harddrive end these problems mentioned above or is it something to do solely with my faulty configurations?

A:Adjusted startup: HP Factory Image drive disappears after each restart

before you start spending money or mess your machine up any more--go into MSCONFIG and select the normal startup button then restart to see if problem(s) are gone

1. I used windows xp on exactly this hardware setup and it was fine.
2. I have 2 displays 20 inch(1600x1200) dell set up vertical and 30 inch(2560x1600) dell horizontal, they're set up in expand desktop(dunno the exact english name) mode.
3. while watching veetle(800kb quality, so decent) on my big screen i get huge pixels, there's no smoothing at all, on vertical screen it's ok and when i switched my big screen to vertical it was ok also(when i switch my smaller screen horizontal it gets bad...), when you move stream window in the middle half the image is good, half is bad
4. i tried a lot of drivers, even over one year old, no change, clean windows install had the same problem, tried a lot of nvidia settings
5. so do you have any clue what might it be?

How do you have the displays connected? You're not using VGA, or VGI>DVI adapters?

I am experiencing a dramatic image quality loss when exporting to PDF from Word 2013. I have set my options (options > advanced > do not compress images in file) and gone to save as > tools > compress pictures to alter the target output, yet it continues to happen, even with new documents.

Is there anything I can do to maintain the image quality? I appreciate any help that you can provide!

I have just installed Windows 7 but have lost my FN F5 - External source - Projector functionality
It appears to work but a poor quality image comes to the screen and then is lost within a second

Are there any updated drivers for Windows 7 which I need or is it another issue?

Appreciate any help

A:Potege S100 - Poor image quality on external screen with Windows 7

Have you installed a display driver on your notebook? I doubt that you will find a driver for Windows 7 at the moment but in most cases the driver for Vista works on Windows 7 too.
Check this!!

Do you really need Windows 7 or you have installed it? It?s not released as yet and at the moment the driver support is not so good.

Hi ..
I have a good quality of .png format image files of a nicely laid out table image. I used .png because of the higher, to me, image quality.
Wearing out Bing/Google searches has given me many suggestions of online converts to free/trial applications with all very inconsistent quality results, i.e.: not worth the effort .  I tested converting the .png to .pdf image and .jpg image files to accommodate testing a wider breadth of programs with same inconsistent, i.e.: useless results.  I have some 80-120 image files I'd like to convert.
Cost is always a consideration, but I did not go into this without thinking I might need to purchase a converter/OCR to .xlsx package. I cannot seem to find one that says it works. I DO except the ability to trial/test anything before purchase.
Ideas? Suggestions?
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Let me know.
