Q: Lenovo Yoga 710-14IKB - Plugged In, No Charging

Hi everyone, I have Lenovo Yoga 710-14IKB 80V4001LAX model notebook. I bought it around 3 weeks ago. Everything was perfect until today. Today I noticed that the device is not charging. I made a research on the internet and saw that in many model of Lenovo there is this problem. - The conservation mode was closed all the time. So it is not that. Please check the screenshot.- I turned off the notebook, removed the cables and press the opening button for 30 seconds, and then plugged the cables in and restarted but no change.- Updated bios and no change.- No reached to battery as it is sealed. I am really disappointed and don't know what to do. I appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, sorry for my bad english. I have a problem with Yoga 530-14IKB with dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX130. When I play games with the AC adapter pugged-in, the frame rate slow down after 30 seconds. When running on battery power there is no frame rate problem. I have tried every possible solution in the power management settings, changed every percentage up and down, factory reset my PC and still lag.

I bought a Lenovo Yoga and after it arrived in the mail yesterday I plugged it in and let it charge today it showed plugged in not charging & after getting help from Lenovo support 8 hours ago I've been waiting for OneKey Optimizer to finish battery conditioning and hoping someone could give me direction on how long to wait or if I should just return it as it's only the 2nd day I've had it and it's already needed to be called in.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 500. My notebook stopped charging the battery and so the only way it can be used is plugged in. We thought the battery was the problem however we replaced the battery and the problem persists. I have tried various chargers to ensure the charger is not faulty however this proved useless. When I move the mouse over the battery icon, it says plugged in not charging. Any idea what this could be? It is a new computer however warranty has expired. please advise

I bought a Lenovo Yoga 720 - 15IKB two weeks ago. The laptop works fine except for one important detail: it has never recognized the AC adapter as being plugged in. Basically when the PC is on, even if plugged in, it will drain down to 5% and turn itself off. But when it is off and plugged in, it charges up to 100% battery without a problem. How can I get my laptop to charge while plugged in? As it charges without issue when turned off, I want to think it is more of an issue with drivers or BIOS than the AC adapter and power connection.  All Windows updates and Lenovo System Updates have been installed, except for one: BIOS Update - 10 [64]When I install and then run this update, I get this blue screen of death Windows Error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Battery drivers in the Device Manager several times. I restored battery settings to default, tweaked them, and set them back to default with no avail. Can anyone help or make any suggestions??? Thank you very much!

I am facing lots of problem with my new Lenovo Yoga 730 . Almost everyday, I get "Battery Plugged in and not charging" and after lots of manuvers ( reinstalling drivers, restarting, replugging and sometimes praying...) it begins charging. I don't know what works but the problem resolves itself for a day and it occurs again . I have been dealing with this for 2 weeks now.  When I take the charging cable off and replug it, it charges for exactly 5 seconds and goes back to "Not charging". My laptop is new (Bought in September this year). I have also got remote assistance for this problem, even reinstalled Windows.  Someone suggested me to buy a new cable. My cable looks good to me, it is not even bent at any place.  Is the laptop faulty? I have never faced so many problems with a new laptop. Please help. Thanks

Hi!My Yoga 500-15ISK Laptop seems to have a battery issue. For some time now, whenever I plug my laptop into the AC power, I get this message, e.g. "(% charge) available, (plugged in, charging)", however for some reason, the battery level actually stays the same even after a significant amount of time of being plugged in to the AC supply. Moreover, the battery icon initially shows the animated one which indicates charging is indeed in progress, then after a few moments, it will freeze on the estimated level.Before this, my laptop's battery usually charges relatively quickly. Also, I have not turned on the Conservation Mode so it must charged up beyond 50-60% especially if I leave it plugged in overnight. This issue is really bewildering me right now. Any comments or suggestions on how I can address this issue?Thanks!Other notes re my laptop:It's been around 10 months since I've bought it and I have encountered this issue only a few days ago.I have no other issues with it.

Hello,  I have a lenovo yoga 520 14IKB, 120 GB SSD, 8 GB ram and NO HDD. As I recently had Wifi connection issues, I opened the computer to fix that (the cable popped out after a pretty rough plane ride). While in there, I saw that I had a SSD, as stated before. but I also saw that i have a unused space to put in another HDD/SSD. I believe that the SSD used in my system is a m.2 sata SSD (I am not  really sure as I am not really familiar with computer hardware), and it is located directly behind the connector for the 2.5 inch drive bay thing. The question now is wether or not I can simply install an HDD into that bay, and use it alongside the boot SSD to use it to store photos, documents etc. I should probably also mention that in sopace of a harddrive or 2.5 inch ssd, there was a "ciuya hdd dummy brk" in the drive bay. I hope to get quick answers, Thanks.

Nothing prevents fan to move it's blades (huh, blades? Just noticed this happening. Yoga 730 laptop is plugged in but shown as "not charging". Windows 10. I made sure the conservation setting is turned off. Other posts on this apply to much older laptops so I don't believe the solutions are the same. I have seen some references to disabling Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery after removing the laptop battery but the battery is sealed and not sure how it can be removed. Perhaps there is a much simpler solution?Thanks

I've plugged recently plugged my laptop charger into the laptop the icon read 30% power and stated that the computer was plugged in and not charging. I disconnected the power promptly but the icon still showed that that it was plugged in and not charging. The charging light was also shown to be on but the charger was not plugged in. I restared my computer to try and fix the glitch but there was no change. I also tried turning it off and plugging it in, there was a spark sound and burnt smell coming out of the charger and the charging port. I have no idea what to do. please help!

I have a Yoga 370 plugged into a ThinkPad USB-C Dock (DK1633) with the provided USB-C cable, and Windows is showing "Plugged in" but also "Not charging" as the battery has continued to decline in this configuration (it's declined from ~60% when it was first docked, and is now at 29%.) What's this mean, and how do I correct it? More detail: The USB-C cable is plugged into the port next to the power on the dock (the only place it fits.)The dock is powered, as evidenced by the power light being on.The USB-C cable is plugged into the Yoga at the "lightning" port (again, the only place it fits.)I've tried the most obvious googleable steps, which are to remove the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" in Device Manager and re-add/update. This didn't change the behavior.I should add that I first noticed this problem only a couple weeks ago. Before that I believe the dock was charging the laptop as expected, in the same configuraton it's in now.I have not yet tried charging with the power cable that comes with the Yoga (instead of the dock/USB-C) since this problem started happening. I don't have the cable handy, and won't for a few days.

Hello, I have bought 910 and reinstall with fresh 1803. I have upgrade bios to latest and installed all drivers from support page.using OEM charger and using proper port for charging (rear). Also device is ok with charger because i can charge tablet when it is turn off. Even in bios it is charging, so i know that there are problem with drivers in windows.Scenario is like this: 1. If i boot with charger pluged in i have exclamation mark in device manager (I2C HID Device) - last picIt says that is is charging but after minute of charging battery indicator stops, (still says charging - but it does not). 2 nd picAfter removing charger and plugin again says only plugged in NOT CHARGING. 1st pic.   2. If i plug in charger after boot i have: no exclamation mark in device managerrest is same as above example. I tried all drivers (which are kind very OLD) , tried Lenovo Vintage (ussless), tried drivers from 920 .. same. Three times i have reinstalled windows even with generic microsoft drivers, it does NOT CHARGE. Also there is annoying screen flickering which i sloved by manually add driver from 920. (not completly still shows sometimes.) will try linux and if that will not work, i am going to return this expensive toy. Funny that i wanted to buy X1 Carbon soon... lol guessing that problem is in Windows changing from ver to ver. and Lenovo, who does not update neither drivers or bios. Sad....

Hi all. I've snooped around the first and second pages of google on how to fix my problem (see title), but I'm not technologically saavy and don't really understand what might happen to my computer. So anyways. The 'deets. I've been using my 920 for about 7 months now as a school computer, haven't had any major mishaps with it. I keep it clean both physically and virtually. Just 2 hours ago, my charger stopped working: the charging light is on, the usb-c cable works on other electronics, and the computer displays "Plugged In, Not Charging." I've tested with other cables on this computer and receive the same message. If anyone has some tips, and could explain how and why they work in layman terms that would be extremely helpful! Thanks!-A Noob

What is the charge level?  If its like 96% for example it wont charge until it hits 95% to preserve the battery.  Also check Lenovo Vantage.  Do you have conservation mode turned on?  Those would be my first 2 things to check.

Hello, The other day I plugged in my Lenovo 710 to charge before going to bed and when I went to use again yesterday it had not increased in battery life and remained at 57%. I figured it might have been a faulty outlet, so I changed outlets and continued to charge my laptop while I studied on it. After a couple of hours, I noticed the battery life still remained at 57% even though my laptop was plugged in. I went and hovered my cursor over the battery icon and it shows my laptop is plugged in but it says it is not charging. I'm a college student so my whole life is on my laptop and I use it all the time, and I need it for my finals this week. So I'd greatly appreciate any help on how to solve this issue!!!

I have a brand new Yoga 730 whose battery seems to have a serious problem. I can't get past 33% battery capacity and the system tray icon informs me that the unit is "plugged in, not charging." The 33% does not appear accurate, either, given that the unit goes dark as soon as I disconnect the power supply. I have uninstalled both of Device Manager's battery entries, allowing them to reinstall upon system restart, to no avail. It does not appear as if this battery is replaceable by mere mortals, so I don't think I am able to muck around with physical connections. All thoughts welcome...  Rick A.Pleasanton CA

Do you have AIrplane power mode on in either windows settings OR Vantage?  Also do you have conservation mode on?  It shouldnt make a difference at 33% but just wondering.

I have Lenovo Yoga 530 14ikb which I bought in South Korea.The exact model number is 81EK0063KR. Active pen 1 was delivered together when I bought my laptop, but it's broken, so I want to buy a new active pen now. Since I did a lot of drawing and writing with active pen 1, I thought active pen 2 will give me better experience. So, before going to buy active pen 2, I want to check if it's working with my laptop. I've checked some posts from this community, some people said, active pen 2 is working with Yoga 530, but in official Lenovo website, my laptop is not included in the list of compatibility of active pen 2. I need to buy it as quick as possible. I would be quite appreciate, if you clarify my doubt.Thank you for reading, wating for reply.

I tried to update my BIOS recently, to the newest one on the Lenovo website (2XCN32WW v2.07), but it just says "Your machine does not match with this BIOS. Update process will be halted. I used the "Auto detect driver" service on lenovos site, so it should be correct.I am currently stuck on BIOS version "0GCN21WW v1.05" Please help, i am really lost here.

Hello my name is Santiago. Today I tried to update my drivers using a third party software named "Driver Booster". As soon as I restarted my laptop I could notice that the touchpad was not working. As i didn´t create a restore point I restarted my computer back to factory settings in order to get rid of the drivers. But when the restart finished, the touchpad did not work either. I tried to look for touchpad drivers in the driver page of my computer but could not find any, in my settings I looked for touchpad and is nowhere to be seen, when I go to the hardware section of the mouse settings the box to enable touch pad isnt either, and lastly in my device manager in the sector of mouse & other pointing devices I can only see the driver of the Lenovo Pen Device. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? Because I already ran of options that I found on the internet. Thanks For Your Time.

Hola:Desde hace cosa de un par de semanas al poco de encender el ordenador (que apenas tienes dos meses) si no lo tengo conectado a la corriente comienza a parpadear en negro de manera aleatoria e intermitente. Revisando no puede tratarse de una cuestión de batería pues supera en muchos casos el 60% y no puede tratarse de algo de la pantalla ya que si está conectado no hace dicha anomalía. ¿Alguna idea antes de que deba llevarlo a revisar al servicio técnico? Gracias

Hi, I do have the same problem, on my 2 years laptop.Plugged in the battery is not charging anymore. I thought it was the battery, so I bought a new one and installed it, but it still doesn t charge.Please note I do have two different AC adapter.The laptop is uptodate with the Bios and drivers, plus windows 10.I installed the Lenovo settings, then the Lenovo vantage,( i tried also a quick charging, and enabled the secur mode always in charge 60% etc...)  it says my battery is great but it still doesn t charge. I asked lenovo support with no answer. Do anybody find a solution ?

I seem to be having an intermittent "Not Charging" issue on my Lenovo Yoga 900.
 
It usually happens when it's fully charged and I unplug it for a few minutes and then plug it back in. If I let it drop below 93-95% it will usually say "Plugged in, charging" again.
 
Is this some sort of glitch, or a feature? I tried looking to see if I had the "conservation" setting on, and I do not.
 
I have a few days to take it back to the store if I need to. I'd really rather not send it in because we have problems with couriers dropping off packages that end up getting stolen because we live in an apartment with multiple locked doors, so they usually pitch it beside the door and run off and then someone else takes off with our stuff. Had it happen a couple of times with Amazon orders. (grr)

Good day and welcome to the community.This is my experience with my Yoga 900 and Yoga 900S. This way the system isn't trying to constantly top off 1 or 2%, which is not good for the battery. By contrast, Conservation Mode will charge to ~60% and then stop. That has some benefits, also. Personally, I'm not using Conservation Mode, and so far I've not seen any negative effects on my batteries.

Hey there,  So I have this problem where my Yoga 14 will only turn on if I plug in the AC adapter, and once I remove the adapter the computer shuts off.  I downloaded the BIOS update, BUT, since my battery says "Plugged in, 0% available" my Thinkpad will not let me install it, as it says that my battery is not charged sufficiently.  What can I do? Thank you all so much!

Got my Lenove Yoga 900  week ago. Today it had the message on the battery icon in the task bar *plugged in, not charging." Please help before the battery drains out! Thanks.

You need to have a look at the battery settings in the Lenovo utilities.  If you have the power setting set to maximise battery life (or similar), you may get that message when the battery is approximately halfway discharged.

Every time I plug in my laptop, the charging icon appears, but the battery still goes down. There were times that I finally got it to work by either restarting my laptop or trying multiple outlets, but that no longer works either. My AC adapter is fine, and based on Lenovo Vantage, my battery is still in good condition. Has anyone experienced the same problem and have a solution?
