I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have java oracle 6 I think that is still in control panel listed and I have tried to uninstall that and I can't seen to do that.
I have gone to java website and see if there was a way to uninstall java since that is a old java and no help there.
( I have used shouldIremoveit website and that does not work either error message came up as 1723 A DLL required for this to complete and cojuld not be run).
So I have tried to look for the answer to this and can't seem to find one so asking you if you know what else could be done.
And this java in control panel is really not working or think as I have turned it off BUT I know there is a file in my pc some were that takes up space and just wanted to get rid of all of it there.

Hi everyone;
We at work are having issues with Java. We at work use Oracle and we are using an older version of Java. We stopped updates from Java for all users, but some machines get theupdates and Oracle just doesn´t run.
The issue is we need to uninstall Java and install the correct version of it, Java 6 update 51, but we always expirience problems because of remnants of other installations.
Is there a way or a software that will delete all the entries of Java in the registry that you can recommend?
I´ve read in the net and found some that we are currently testing, but we want to see if you guys have any recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

A:Java issues with Oracle

I would use the official uninstaller from java.com: https://java.com/en/download/faq/uninstaller_toolinfo.xml
But why do you need to install an outdated Java version in the first place? The new versions are backward compatible. The outdated versions are a big security risk that I personally would not take.

See the latest from SANS Internet Storm Center; https://isc.sans.edu/diary/Oracle+Java+20+new+vulnerabilities+patched/18395

The message is clear, if you haven't already uninstalled it, do it now, unless you have some vital application that uses it and you can't not use that app, in which case all you can do is disable Java in your browser(s) so that it needs permission to run every time and hope that you can spot anything wrong when it does ask.

Hi Everyone!

I have recently been getting security errors and wonder if I have some virus or it is my server or onboard filter.

I use K9 on my computer.

When I am on Amex's site and I try searching or stuff I sometimes get this message - "The site's security certificate is not trusted!
You attempted to reach search.americanexpress.com, but the server presented a certificate issued by an entity that is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may mean that the server has generated its own security credentials, which Google Chrome cannot rely on for identity information, or an attacker may be trying to intercept your communications."

A few times a day a window pops up on my screen saying something like "this site's security certificate is not trusted etc." about netspark.com with an icon on the start menu of java.

Thanks for any help or advice!

Attached is the zip from DDS and GMER.

Recently, I allowed Sun MicroSystems (first time ever) to make a Java update change to my PC as well as allowing future permission requests. This came about as a by-result from running ComboFix as advised due to another more pressing issue.
Just now, my control panel asked my permission to allow jucheck.exe to make changes to my PC's hard drive with a new version of Java which is ready to be installed.
Verified publisher: Oracle America, Inc.
File origin: hard drive on my PC.
It's the first time I've been asked about Java where Sun MicroSystems isn't the named publisher.
I've search engine'd jucheck and Oracle America and have come up with everything from trojan to valid.
General/Details/Certification Paths can be provided if needs be.
Pls advise.

Okay here is the scenario -

1) Logged on to a machine with full admin rights.
2) Have Jinitiator installed.
3) Go to Our hoseted Oracle site.
4) Log in.
5) Go to Member Center.
6) In the bottom status bar of I.E. watch oajinit.exe loading
7) Follow all oajinit.exe install prompts. Okay through it all and take all defaults. (same as the install)
8) Wait for I.E. to download the jar files from the OA_JAVA folder.
9) Once the file fndaol.jar is tried to open we get a Jinitator securty Java prompt message indicating that this is a signed applet.
10) You can click on Grant Always and this allows the user to log in.
11) The problem is EVERY user that logs into this PC has to have the following things occur.
a) Each user has to wait for the jar files to redownload (really a waste of time/bandwidth can't this load to a shared dir or something?)
b) Each user gets this Jinitiator security warning.

Now for more information - I noticed if you go into Control Panel there is the Jintiator applet in there. If you go to the certificates field then nothing is there until you pick Grant Always once you pick that it is listed in there.

Is there some way to "force" this certificate/applet to always be granted to matter the PC? Is this some kind of Java setting we can tweak?

While the jar files redownloading more a nusance the bigger problem is the constant Jinitiator securty box as we may have upwards of 5-8 people logging onto an individual worksta... Read more

What's worse than stale coffee? Stale Java, says the US Federal Trade Commission.

Oracle has been ordered to warn users if they're running an outdated version of Java SE, under a settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The agreement settles claims by the FTC that Oracle deceived users when telling them their computers would be "safe and secure" if they updated Java. While updating software usually affords protection, Oracle failed to inform users that, when multiple versions of Java SE were installed, older versions would remain on the computer. This outdated software then offered a ripe target for hackers.

Get Ready to update your Java program as Oracle has released its massive patch package for multiple security vulnerabilities in its software.
The United States software maker Oracle releases its security updates every three months on Tuesday, which it referred to as "Critical Patch Updates" (CPU). Yesterday, Oracle released its first quarterly CPU-date of this year, issuing a total of 169 security fixes for hundreds of its products including Java, Fusion Middleware, Enterprise Manager and MySQL.
The security update for Oracle’s popular browser plug-in Java addresses vulnerabilities in the software, 14 of which could be remotely exploitable without authentication, that means an attacker wouldn't need a username and password to exploit them over a network.

The FTC says Oracle deceived consumers for several years by promising that updating their Java software would keep them safe from malware and hacking attacks. Until last year, the FTC says, the update tool provided by Oracle did not remove some older versions of Java, which meant PCs were still vulnerable...
Oracle was aware since 2010 [when Oracle acquired Sun Microsystems] that older versions of Java had security flaws that left their users vulnerable to malicious attacks, according to the FTC...
Without admitting any wrongdoing, Oracle settled an FTC complaint by promising that current and future Java updates will automatically search for all older versions of the software. If an older version is found, the update tool will notify PC users of the security risk and provide a way for removing it. Oracle also promised to publicize the danger of leaving older versions of Java on PCs, by posting notices on social media and sending bulletins to leading distributors of security software.

If he swaps the first two entries, like so:

Then the program that did not work before works, the program that did work before, works no longer. To clarify, they begin asking for the paths to their databases.

I know that this is because the PATH uses the first folder it finds with an identically named file. What I don't know is how I can either A.) Circumvent that behavior or B.) Reconfigure one of these programs to go directly to the folder in question instead of referring to the PATH variables to locate it's resources. He's running Windows 7 enterprise x64.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I would so appreciate some help, I am beyond frustrated now.
Last week, I tried to install the new Vista update and it would not install. I contacted Microsoft and one of their so called 'experts" did a work around to install the update. After that my internet connection stopped working. I uninstalled the update and then since then I have been unable to access websites that require Java (ie: Pogo). I have installed and uninstalled Java numerous times to no avail. At this point now, I cannot even open the Java Console, I cannot connect to the internet with Mozilla....What a mess!!!

Can someone help??? Please??

Thanks in advance

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong place. I recently updated Java. I made sure all previous versions were gone. I then tried to make a local server for Minecraft and as soon as I try to connect to it, it returns a java.net connection error.

1.I tried clean installing Java and the server. Same error.
2.Reconfigured Java. Still the same error.
3.Edited the path and still the error.

I have no idea what to do. I have spoken to other users with the same issue but their solutions have not worked. Is there a way to fix the error. Everything is up to date and I am running 64 bit java. All files for the server and commands are one hundred percent correct. What can one do?

I am having a problem with connecting to the Internet, Though I have DSL and should always be connected. I am also getting pop ups when opening IE 7 and IE is always (under tools) set to "work off line", though I continue to uncheck that option (I never checked it to begin with).

I tried to correct the connection wizard, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. I also updated java, though I had already installed the updated version. I have an infection, (digital locker, which I have on my machine and this may be a false positive) , according to Kaspersky scan:

I am experiencing a problem when I access sites which use java. Both sites are used for email. I can access the sites but after trying to move around the wireless connection will be lost. I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router and I am using a Linksys Wireless G usb adapter. During these outages, my Compaq laptop with internal wireless adapter also loses it ability to connect to the network and Internet. The main site is my wife's email for work and it really is a nuisance when it goes down like that. Any thoughts on why this happens. I have searched all over for suggestions but nothing is linking the wireless and java together.

Ok so i restored my broken computer from 2002 Windows XP Service Pack 2 and I don't have a wireless network connection, only a LAN wired connection. I tried making new connections but I cant make a new wireless one. Before i restored it it worked but it doesnt anymore. Also, i want java runtime environment, but when I try to install it it freezes my computer and i get multiple errors. I have the java version from 2002 and nothing works. Thanks,

A:[SOLVED] No Wireless Network Connection and I can't install Java

The first thing you should do after restoring the system is install XP SP3 which you can download from here:
Download: Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

You should also make sure you have the latest chipset installed.

You'll need to install the wireless network drivers for your laptop which you should be able to get from the manufacturers website.

Hey guys, recently I have been having an issue with my wireless connection on my desktop PC. Two days ago on Friday I received a Rosewill wireless adapter that I ordered from Newegg.com, and I set it up on my PC. Didn't have any problems at all the first 24 hours.
The next day in the morning my wireless began to drop on and off, and this was an issue with my Macbook pro as well. Each time my internet disconnected and reconnected I seemed to have different down/up speeds as indicated by speedtest.net
Then, on Sunday, I received a notification from MSE about this: http://puu.sh/376Rr.png
The file was immediately quarantined and I then removed it, and scanned my computer using MSE and then Microsoft's malicious software removal tool.
After I removed the file I heard two beeping noises from my computer, and this was similar to what somebody else said http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/483054/definitely-infected-java-exploit-and-flooder/
The poster also mentioned his/her internet going on and off as well, so I'm not sure if my issues are being caused by the wireless adapter or the virus. I'm not even sure if it's the virus because I performed two full scans and 0 malicious files came back both times. It might be worth mentioning that my internet has still been going on and off even after I reset my router, the effect is also the same for my phone/Macbook.
Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

A:[Java] New version of Java, Java 8 Update 51 has been released

If you have desktop programs which require java to run then the best thing you can do is disable it's browser functions, this can be done by the method described on the following page, that way java can still run for those who need it as an environment for their desktop programs, but it will not be vulnerable as a browser plugin.

I know VB.net and sql can be used together and I was wondering what exactly is involved in doing this. This post is probably vague but I want to do a program in visual basic. net using a sql database already created. Can someone tell me if its a hard process to use them together? And for vb.net what controls and other things that I will have to use with the sql database and displaying the sql database? If anyone can offer any comments its very appreciated. Thank you.

A:VB.Net and Oracle SQL

Yes, this can be done. If you know SQL then the format is all you will need to get used to.

To get started you must connect to the database, and utilize a DataAdapter and DataSet. I have worked with this through Access via SQL and the three used are shown in red. You might need to use the two in green for your's. You will need the DataSet regardless.

The first thing you will need to do is connect to your database. In the properties for data...select "new connection" from the dropdown list...and then browse to your database,,,don't forget to test your connection or it will crash.

Second, configure your DataAdapter. When you click on it, the bottom of your properties box will contain a link that says "Configure Data Adapter..." Click on that.

Finally, the DataSet. This is what you will load the results of your query's into and pull from.

Now lets take a look at some of the code you will need to use. (keep in mind that this is only for syntax -- real names and values will be yours)
code said:

sql = "select students.studentID, students.name, students.password "
TestDataAdapter.SelectCommand.CommandText = sql
TestDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet, "students")
avtests = DataSet.Tables("tests")

Catch exception As System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException
MessageBox.Show("Invalid Query")
TestDataAdapter.UpdateCommand.CommandText = squpd
TestDataAdapter.UpdateCommand.ExecuteNonQue... Read more

Q: Oracle?

hi guys,
I would like to ask about how would Oracle codes be useful for me? I mean forn web developing and this stuff ....... I know it can be helpful in the field of databases but what and how can I integerate it into my web pages?
that's all I would like to really know ...... can anyone help?

It depends on what kind of web work you are looking at. Using a database is a great aid to working on web sites as it allows you to store and retrieve things easier. Most of the content on my website is actually in a database, I just pull it up to the page. What is great is I have administration pages that allow me to update the database record and alter the content of my site from a web form anywhere.

When I sell a website I use this same format to allow the customer to update their own website.

You can also use the database to do things like user logins, store repetitive data (like the fish tank maintenance on my site for my aquarium) and such.

As far as Oracle goes, unless you are housing a massive database with transaction processing and such, it is overkill. I looked into oracle once and just to get it running to me a weekend. On the other hand databases like MySQL and Access are much better suited for the small time developer. IMHO
