Hello, a few months back I did a driver update for Nvidia. Afterwords my screen started blinking randomly. After tinkering with stuff for hours I finally got it to stop after doing a intel graphics and bios update. Fastforward to a couple days ago. I updated Nvidia again to play some new game and now the blinking is back. However there does not seem to be a intel or bios update to try the same solution. Any help?Read other answers
I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system
It's worked out well for many of us in the past.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)
Basically i got this new pc that has Win7 on it, GTX 970/16 gb of ram/ GIGABYTE motherboard GA-Z17OXP-SLI. Ok i downloaded my games and everything and then i went on and looked around Nividia panel then to Nividia Geforce Experiance. It said there was a driver update so i downloaded it no big deal. I noticed something wierd my Windows explorer tabs starting to not respond, my other programs such as Discord(gaming chat thingy) not responding then the next thing i knew everything froze then blue screened!!!!!! I didnt know what to do so i looked up online, tried to boot it from a usb but when i tried to put the Windows 7 thing in the usb VIA CMD(command prompt) it told me "this tool can only be run on systems boosted using PC/AT BIOS..." So i just dragged the Windows 7 installation mirror files that was inside the ISO file and copied it to the USB. I tried to boot and pressed a key, but nothing happened. So i pressed f12 and found something with the USB name and boot overrided it. Then turns out i cant load a driver when i setup win7, i said screw this and downloaded WIN10 and i setup it up and everything it was checking the disks for corrupted data it cleaned it and whatever it id then it said RESTARTING....while windows was starting up it blue screened again... and now it just says starting windows and nothing is happening
The nividia update was version: 372.70
PLEASE HELP AND READ not good with english that much.

Hi there, I bought a lenovo y50-70 last week. Its bought from someone else and when i was there, there were no issues seen on the screen. He told me that the screen blinks the first 7 seconds when turned on. This mostly occured when the laptop was cold out of start up. I started using the laptop the day after. The blinking was terrible! I went online first and checked to see if there were similar problems. And there where! I tried updating the bios, i tried updating both gfx cards. Nothing seems to help... The only thing i can think of is sending it to lenovo and let it fix. He doesnt have the receipt anymore... what else can i do?! thnx in advance!Read other answers
So originally i was only having troubles with the screens flickering in games, which was quite irritating , the screen would every so often flicker black and it would happen ever so often, i went and called support and for a time it seemed fixed, however, now it is worse than ever, the scrreen in-game being either completely black and maybe showing a few "lines" of tthe games color, , why has it gotten worse? and what can i do to fix this PERMANTLY?Read other answers
My g510s screen keeps blinking on and off really fast. I don't know what the problem is. I've looked up other threads about laptop screen flickering but it seems that their laptops don't completely blink off. I might be wrong. I tried resetting my laptop already so i think it's probably a problem internally. Is there any advice you guys can offer me about the problem i'm having.
Hi, I bought my Ideapad Y700 in December 2015, so it's half year old. Warranty is 2 years after entering S/N on Lenovo website. Please only reply to this if you are form Lenovo support. Question: Will opening back lid of the laptop to check for connection between screen and rest of the laptop void my warranty ? I suspect it's a cable that got lose, but I would like to be sure if it's worth even checking. Is it ok to open screws to have a look inside or will that void my warranty ? Additional information: Screen blinks even when booting, before operating system and also in BIOS. So it really looks like hardware problem.Read other answers
This is my first post. I've been a long fan of BleepingComputer.com but I have never needed to ever post something because the wealth of information here was able to help me resolve most problems. That is, until now. I have been fixing computers for years and I don't remember to have ever been in a position where I have exhausted all options and have surrendered to the reality that it may be the motherboard. But, despite my experience, I know I'm a novice at this game so that's why I'm turning to the people here.
I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M58 7244 Desktop. This is not mine, but a friends. The problem is as follows: When the computer boots up, there is a splash screen which says the "system is starting" and to interrupt the startup, I can hit enter. If I hit enter, screen disappears and I'm brought to a black screen with the cursor blinking on the top left corner. Clearly the issue is startup related so all I'm thinking about is trying to fix the MBR or even considering flashing the BIOS. So, I attempt to get into the BIOS. Since hitting enter brought me nowhere, I decided to use other common hot keys. Hitting F1, F2, Delete, F8, F12 from the splash screen take me nowhere except to the blinking cursor. I hit ESC and viola! Another screen that displays lots of text as well as memory information, which is all accurate.
This screen also gives me two additional o... Read more
Hello, and Welcome,
Have you replaced the CMOS battery with a new one? PXE errors can be due to a bad hard drive or bad CMOS battery. I would also powercycle the computer if you have not tried it yet. Pull the power cord. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds, Replace the power cord and boot.
Depending on how many RAM modules you have, start with one and try to boot. Change slots. If that does not help, replace with the other module if there is more than one and try both slots booting between each changed location.
I would also reseat any hard drive cables at the hard drive and motherboard. When booting, can you hear the hard drive spin up when the side panel is removed? Good Luck
Hi tried to do a hard reboot. Unplugged the non removable battery. Same thing. 2 blinks of the caps lock key after pressing power button. This same thing happened about a week ago. This time it will not recover into Bios mode. This just happened after I did a update and restart prompted by shut down sequence.Read other answers
Hi,I have ran spybot, AdAware SE, Panda Active Scan, & Stinger, but I am still having problems. On my task bar, I have a couple of issues doing the same thing. First, I have a blinking windows update ball with abubble that reads " Windows has detected spyware infection. It is recommended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss. Windows will now download and install the most up-to-date antispyware for you. Click here to protect your computer from spyware." When I click on it, it takes me to a website for SpyAxe. It keeps installing it on my computer, but won't lrt me use it unless I purchase it! Second, I also have a blinking yellow triangle that says "System has detected 4 active spyware applications that may cause your computer to crash and restart, slow it to a crawl and even shut it down entirely, click the icon to get rid of unwanted spyware." I have a Thinkpad r61i running windows 7 64-bit, and all was merry until it decided to run some updates while it was running on battery. Short story, the battery died during the installation and now when I boot it just goes to the black screen with the blinking cursor.
I removed all peripherals, tried to boot from DVD all with no such luck. I really don't care about the files on the dive at this point and am more than happy to reformat and start anew. If the hdd is bad I have a known good one from an old Mac mini.
Barring any suggestions that I haven't tried, how can I go about installing a new copy of windows successfully on either of the drives. I have a Mac mini, the laptop in question and an older dell dimension ( i think dimension 2350desktop running XP.
I'm thinking if somehow I can connect one of these drives to my dell desktop and format/install windows that way...am I totally off there? If that is a workable solution, how do you connect a laptop hdd to a desktop? When I tried using it as an external, it said I couldn't install windows via USB or FireWire. Is a sata to IDE cable what I need to accomplish this?
Again, unable to boot from disks in the current state.
Thanks in advance for all the help.
You may plug any laptop Sata hard drive to a desktop . If you have a SATA DVD player just unplug that and plug in the laptop hard drive using the cables off the DVD .Read other 9 answers
I just put windows 7 on my second computer. Its kind of low end by todays standards. AMD Athalon 64 4000+, Nvidia 7900 GT, 2 gigs of DDR400 memory. I think the video card is a little lite side. Every so often when a video is playing the screen artifacts. 100% of the time when I start a game the screen artifacts. I tried updating drivers to the latest ones. When I do that the screen artifacts as soon as windows boots. If I leave the drivers as is when windows does its automatic update for them I am ok, but still no games and 50% on video. I lent a friend of mine an extra 8800 gt card I took out of my main computer when i upgraded it to newer hardware. I am going to get it back tonight and see if this solves my problems. Any ideas/help would be great.
Usually screens artifact because of bad overclocks. If you're overclocking reset back to stock speeds. Otherwise you might try even downclocking your card.Read other 2 answers

Also, if I do have to spend $$ and buy a card.. I want to install it myself , is this very difficult? (I have done my own mem upgrades before no prob ) and, please, no comments on how I need to get a new puter, as I was so thouroughly ridiculed on Yahooanswers for....i am aware of this and as soon as I am FINANCIALLY able to, I fully intend to to do that.. however this is my reality right now and what I have to work with at the moment. its still pretty fast I have of course reformatted over the years (boughtit new in 2000) i have 10.20 used space, 37.25 GB total space, with 27.05 free space (28% full) I have broadband and lots of adware and spyware catchers and removers, also excellent antivirus programs. I defrag and cleandisk frequently. will i have to worry about overheating ?
I am able to play Second Life but graphics are lacking somewhat... (of course it is too insanely expensive to upgrade anymore mem on this dinosaur) :-D thank you

What is happening with Lenovo System Update? We are getting an error that the package catalog is being updated? We have several models here and its happening on all of them. I can't find anything relating to this update on any Lenovo site, and the response I got from calling support was "Sorry." They were also not able to tell me when they think this will be fixed. I was kinda wondering, what is the most powerful Nividia VGA that my Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L v1 motherboard could handle?
That's about it, thanks in advance .
Hey. Your motherboard could use any PCI-e card. There's no such thing as "too powerful" so that should make you happy.
It's the psu you have to consider if you get one of those x2 cards or run SLI.

I can't see any other monitor on my device manger other than generic pnp monitor, doesn't another monitor should be displayed for the nividia GForce GT 525m card,
only in the display adapters the nividia appears , how is that possible and does it mean that the nividia card has a problem or what?, because I can't make any use of the nividia card as if it isn't there ,and I can't enable the 3d vision.
my laptop is inspiron n5110 i5 and I installed the drivers for nividia
I don't really understand your question.
The listings for the monitor and display adapter are separate in Device Manager. It's possible that there is no .inf file for the display.
I believe that the N5110 supports nVidia's Optimus feature:
I have no personal experience with it, but I believ that it requires that drivers for both the nVidia display adpater and the Intel onboard graphics be installed. (The Intel graphics are used for applications that don't need a lot of processing power, to extend the operating time when you're running on battery power.)
I play all sorts of games like Star Wars: Jedi Outcast II and Tribes2 and the list goes on. Recently, I begin playing a Tribes2 game and it freezes. I thought it was just a custom script I added in, but ever since all my games will freeze between 1 second to 1 mintute of gameplay. I have belief that it is my drivers but I did install the latest ones for my card (GeForce4 Ti4200)
OS: Windows ME (4.90, Build 3000)
System Model: Compaq PC
Processor: AMD Athlon Processor, MMX, 3DNow 1.1GHz
Memory: 256MB RAM
DirectX Version 9.0a
I've tried older drivers and the newest ones and get the same results. I'd really appreciate some help.

does window 7 support nividia 8500?
i installed window 7 earlier and installed the driver for my graphic card and it doesnt not detect it.
im just trying to make sure it will work.
ay7191, welcome to the forums.
To answer your question yes,
Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers Windows 7
though it isn't Windows that supports the card, it is the card and its drivers that support Windows 7.
As to why it wasn't being detected, that could have been down to a missing or incomplete chipset driver (also known as motherboard drivers).

Then I switched the monitor cable back to the orginal monitor plg on the back of the CPU and the screen shows the windows screen with no icons or mouse pointer. I am completely lost.......
Can you use the keyboard? CTRL ESC is the keyboard command for the start menu, and you can navigate using the arrow keys. Navigate your way to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager Use TAB to highlight buttons and tabs and ENTER to select. Expand the display adapter tree. If there is a device there that is not your geForce 5500, uninstall it and reboot. You can get to shut down from the start menu.
I just finished Installing my GeForce FX 5200 card
Everything seems to work fine when BOTH cards are enabled, which means theyre working together.
I am able to play World of Warcraft with much better graphics now that I have my new card.
But I heard the cards arent supposed to be working together, so I had to uninstall or disable my Integrated Card. Well I tried it, and when I turn on my computer I get a black screen, and no mouse, but when I move it left to right a little, It seems to come from a very far off side as if I have a Second screen, BUT i dont even have a second monitor.
So then, I had to plug my monitor back onto the original slot(not GF slot), and now Im able to see my windows account logon screen....very pixelated, and discolored.
Now I log in, and I go to my display settings and GeForce is at good color setting, and the correct resolution, but I dont see it! Single 5970. The 'dual' refers to it being two cards together on a single PCB, making it a single physical card.
So i have this new PC that i have built its fine and all when runing a single graphics card but if i turn on sli i cant seem to play games some games i can play for a while but it fails and black-screens(it says graphics card driver stopped working and have recovered) in the middle but with high demanding games i just get a black-screen immediately when i get in a game(not menu screen but actual game) i start example: Battlefield 3
I am running windows professional
2X Asus GTX 780s
Psu :cooler master silent pro gold 1000w
it also seems that this happens allot more when i overclock now all of this seems like a psu problem to me but before purchasing a new psu i wanted to make sure if my psu is actually faulty or not
Any help will be very appreciated
let me know if you need more info

Please help friends
Sound like you need to install the graphic drivers. I'm a little surprised that the Vista drivers didn't carry over, if you did an in-place upgrade to Windows 7. (Or did you do a clean install?)
Because notebook makers tend to use custom device IDs for their graphics adapters, the place to begin is with the manufactuer.
HP doesn't list Win7 drivers for that notebook, but you may be able to use the Vista drivers:
NVIDIA GeForce Series Video Driver HP Pavilion dv6735en Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)=
If that succeeds, you can probably get newer drivers through Windows Update, or directly from nVidia:
Drivers - GeForce
You can also try the nVidia drivers before trying the Vista ones from HP.
Good luck. Let us know what works.
I'd like to know which one of this graphic card is better than the other. It would be best if it wasn't a biased opinion since a lot of people just go for one based on the brand or simply haven't tried out the other, so they just pick the one they're familiar with. Based on it's specification could someone give me an opinion and a reason as to why it's better? I don't quite get the benchmark section either.
Thanks in advance.
the nvidia card beats out the 3470 in 3dmark05 by 300 points, it would make the difference in some cases, but not many at all, I'd say if you're pinching go for the cheaper one, its extremely difficult to visually see the difference between the two cards. Without running benchmarking software. The nvidia card is about a 10% increase in performance in 3d applications.

I have a NIVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE nForce430 graphics display driver on my PC . I understand that this will not be updated to Windows 10 so I cannot update my PC to Windows 10. My UPC is less than 5 years old and I cant afford to replace it. Can I replace the graphics card myself or should I have someone else do it. I'm fairly tech savy so that's not an issue. Any help will be appreciated!
JimsGirl, welcome to the forum. The first thing that you should do is run Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant to assure that all of your components will be compatible. This is a good idea since the computer is almost 8 years old. There is a PCI Express x16 slot on the motherboard for a discrete video card. However, you will have to upgrade your power supply unit (PSU). It is only 300W. Most newer video cards require at least 400W to run properly. Also, newer video cards after the GT 640 series require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS. I'm wondering why I have 5 programs/drivers in Control Panel > Installed Programs?
NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller Driver 340.50
NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver 341.44
NVIDIA Graphics Driver 341.44
NVIDIA nView 141.36
NVIDIA WMI 2.18.0
My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster SA350. It doesn't even have 3D.
My graphics card is an NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800.
Should I uninstall some of them or just leave it as it is?
Thank you in advance!
