I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I hope someone can help me.  I am having an issue with connecting my Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga to a USB-C Dock.  I have installed all of the drivers and enabled Thunderbold 3 within BIOS, however only the USB, LAN connections work when I plug the dock into the Laptop.  The two displays that are plugged into the dock via Display Port do not work and the laptop seems not able to detect the displays.  Things I have tried: Plugged in only one monitor using both VGA and DP but still nothing.Uninstalled and reinstralled the drivers.Ran the Lenovo support tool to make sure all drivers on the laptop are up to date.Power cycled both the laptop and dock. As I said the USB devices plugged into the dock seem to work fine as does the LAN.  I have tried to update the firmware on the dock however I keep getting the following message: ThinkPad USB-C DP Hub version can't be checked! Please power cycle the Dock to try again. I have powercycled but still have the same message.  I am all out of ideas as to why the displays do not work.   Any ideas?

Hi! I have a worklaptop (x260) and am trying to connect it with a LG Ultrafine 5k Display. The display only has USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 out and when I'm connecting the laptop (using a USB-C to Mini Displayport/Thunderbolt 2 cord) it does nothing and won't detect it. The setup works for another laptop so I know the cord is fine...  Does anyone know if I can just download some drivers for Thunderbolt 3 (Found these: LINK) or do I need a dock? Reason I'm not trying is that I need my corporate IT to download and install so wanted to make sure it's the right solution.  Thank you for any replies! And apologies if this topic has already been delt with -- I searched but without any luck.

Dear Lenovo Community, we are experiencing major performance drops when chaining 2 Displays using displayport 1.2 on a L540. The performance drops to like 1-10 FPS in windows. We tried to fix the problem with using the newst firmware / drivers and bios update. Turns out it didnt help at all.See attachment for the stats of the machine. The strange part about this is that we are using the exact same setup a L540 (same stats) and same displays, newst firmware, drivers for another employee without any issues. we are using 2x DellUltraSharpU2415 Displays. (chaining from one Display to another with Displayport cables and enabling displayport 1.2) If anyone knows a solution to this problem, please share it. thanks in advance. sincerly /nik.

Suddenly My X260 screeen started getting turned off if I open the lid 150 - 180 degree. Then turned back on if I maintain the angle about 45 -  140 degree. The screen goes off if the angle is less than 45 degree, and getting turned ON again if I completely close the lid (It seems the computer recognized as if the lid is open, when I completely close the lid.) For the power management option - I set it "Sleep when I close the lid", but it does not work anymore after I started having this problem. Does it have to do with the hinge sensor? It goes to sleep mode (or screen off mode) if the lid angle is 150 - 180 degree or 10-45 degree. For the reason, I have to completely turn off the system all the time when I'm not using the laptop.   If anyone knows about this issue, please advise.Thank you...

Hello everybody, Thank you for the great forum and all the community helping in solving our issues! As mentioned in the subject I have some concerns about a display upgrade.Recently I bought absolutely fantastic small notebook - Thinkpad X260.Unfortunatelly I was not able to choose the proper configuration and it appeared to be with the 1366x768 TN display, which grinds my gears. I already read the following article:https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/Lenovo-x260-display-upgrade-HD-to-FHD/td-p/35... There are few concerns:Per: https://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/x260_frubom_20160127.pdf I'm about to buy - Original Lenovo LCD LED 12,5" Display FHD IPS 1920*1080 - X260 00HN883.In the article appeared that @kocism used to have some troubles to fit the FHD display somehow. Questions:Is the  FHD front display cover as same as the one used with the TN panel? What about the frame around the display? In general should I buy something else to have this upgrade done in the smoothest way or what I have is enough?  Thank you very much in advance. Best Regards,Georgi

A:Lenovo x260 display upgrade - concerns

The parts list provides no clue.  It talks about a "small" panel, which takes a different bezel and cable and provides no insight into what they are talking about.  You are going to have a hard time finding someone to provide a definitive answer.

Lenovo Thinkpad X200, around 5 or 6 years old, used every day for past 4 years. Screen has started flickering. No black screen or white outs, just flickering very quickly/lightly, but very obvious.

Tried to check ribbon cable to screen and it seems ok. Started and restarted computer with battery in and out, checked PSU/plug with my spare set and both ok. Changed from 50hz to 60hz resolution and screen still flickers.

Have checked lenovo help site but caught no joy.

Does this sound like the screen needs replacing or the inverter needs replacing or is there something obvious I've missed ?

Apart from this screen flicker it works fine.

A:Solved: lenovo thinkpad x200 screen flicker

It sounds a bit as though the backlight is beginning to fail.

Does moving the screen back and forth make any difference. If so it may just be the connector to the motherboard that has worked loose and needs re-inserting.

About a month ago, I noticed this issue. The screen starts flickering after resuming from sleep mode. If I shut it down and reopen it, everything is fine. But if I wake it from the sleep mode, the screen will flicker, especially at the bottem part. I have checked the HD Graphic driver, it is up to date. About a week ago, I reintalled the OS system, the problem still exists. I don't think there is anything wrong with my setting.

The drivers for all devices are installed, as well the latest OS updates. Hello! I have had this problem for a LONG time now, and it is getting very frustrating now. Whenever my screen has a large area of a dark color, my whole display begins to glitch out and flicker. Not only do I have this problem, but there is a problem where there are pink and green areas covering places where it shouldn't be, if that makes any sense, I don't know how to explain it. I have tried so many ways to fix it, but none have worked. I had reinstalled my drivers MULTIPLE times, I had sent it back to Lenovo for repairs, I had unplugged some cables that people had said would fix it, but still, the problem still persists. I do not know what could fix this, and it is so aggravating! It seems like everyone who had this issue as well can never get it fixed either, and their thread gets suppressed and never to be heard from again... any help is appreciated at this point, I can't even bear to look at my laptop screen anymore because the flashing and flickering irritates my eyes. This seems like a problem with ALL y510p's, and I don't understand why anything can be done about it. Thanks in advanced.

Got this message from the customer service it worked for me I hope it will help The symptoms you have described indicate an error that may have been caused by a slight surge of tension. Therefore, a residual current discharge is necessary. This discharge eliminates residual currents in the internal components of your notebook. Please carry out the following steps so that the device is ready for use as soon as possible: 1. Turn off your notebook.2. Now disconnect all devices from your notebook (printers, scanners, hard disks).3. Also remove the memory card in the card reader when plugged in.4. Connect the power cable to the device.5. Now press the NOVO button (on the side of your notebook or next to the power button, curved arrow to indicate) and select the bios.6. Remove the power supply again.7. Now let the notebook run in the BIOS until it shuts itself off8. Now hold down the power button on the notebook for about ten seconds.9. Next, plug the power cord back into the device and allow the battery to charge.10. Now you can turn the notebook on again. Experience has shown that the notebook now works perfectly again

Hi everyone, I have recently purchased an IdeaPad 320-15 IKB and i'm experiencing some weird flickering of the display. The problem is that I don't think it's a hardware issue, because starting windows in Safe Mode solves it. As you can imagine, I cannot use the laptop in safe mode  Has anybody experienced this behaviour and are there any fixes? Drivers i could install/uninstall? Software i should check? My main concern is determine the cause of this.  What i tried until now: uninstalling and reinstalling Intel/Nvidia drivers, applied a display flicker fix from Norton (even though i'm using Bitdefender) - i know... but desperate times - and i ran out of ideas. I would get it to an authorised service, but as i said before, chances are it's not a HW issue. Thanks

I bought a new X260 which was delivered a few days ago -- On all operating systems (windows, various linux flavors) I see screen flicker in the background. Foreground windows are fine, but the background has this faint flicker to it -- almost like im seeing the refresh rate. I've verified that the display is running 1920x1080 60hz in each of the operating systems.  Additionally, I see it in the boot options menu (F12) on startup when it is happening.  The strange thing is that it seems to do it sometimes, and sometimes it does not. An intermittent problem Has anyone else experienced or solved this problem?

HiI have had this flickering issue ever since I updated to windows 10 2 years ago.I have updated the graphics card (and every other driver). Updated the BIOS. Played with the VGA intel driver settings (suggested by someone online). All of that and more and still the issue doesnt go away. When it becomes so bad I open the laptop and deattach/attach the screen cable. This resolves the issue for a couple of days and it comes back even worse every time.Although this may suggest it is a hardware issue, it never happened before the win10 upgrade. It also seems to happen more severly when certain websites are open, and also when certain programs are used. Check this video I uploaded to know what I mean.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AQWGk40YwMA few months ago the problem suddenly was complicated and the screen went corrupt (green haze with white lines). I had to buy a new screen and install it. Things seemed fine after that for a month, and it is now back again flickering!I have a separate monitor connected by HDMI to the laptop and it works fine (thus it is not a VGA issue)I am frustrated and tired. I payed top-dollar (back then) for a laptop that acts as a workstation/gaming platform and this flickering is killing me (along with the heat in left side of keyboard during gaming, but ppl online says it is normal so I dont mind)Please help. I am out of waranty.

Hey everyone,
I recently ran into the issue that the backlight on my Lenovo Thinkpad W520 for the display wont light up ( i took the LCD and shined a flashlight behind it to ensure that it was being digitized which it was). It worked fine one day until I turned on the laptop and the screen was black. I have reseated all the RAM, bought new cables for the display, a new inverter for the display, and even a new screen. I have unplugged the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS, and tried holding the power button for long amounts of time with the battery and power cord disconnected. Holding the power button down and restarting fixed my Thinkpad T410 when the same issue happened 3 times before, but it wont fix this issue. All of this never happened on the T410 for the 2 years I had Windows 7 on it but now both machines run Windows 10 Pro. I removed the hard drive from the W520 just in case it was a problem with the drive. Also I am testing the screen with the laptop display assembly disassembled. Please help, I am lost as to what I can do.

A customer brought in the their Lenovo Thinkpad 450s because their screen was failing. They already had purchased a new screen and gave me the e-mail confirmation from the order that showed that it was the correct screen that they needed. However, the new display is still black. When I hook up an external monitor, nothing but a mouse pointer shows. But I can connect to the external monitor if I power on the laptop and then immediately close the lid.The external display then shows the desktop. But then I lift the laptop lid, the laptop screen is still black. Even when I change the display settings to extend the desktop.  There was one brief occurrence with the new screen, where I saw a very faint lenovo logo appear when the splash screen loaded. But then it went completely black again. And has not done even the faint image since, it was just a fluke occurrence. And when I shine a flashlight, I still see no display. While the external monitor is displaying the desktop and I then reopen the laptop lid, the laptop screen is recognized as being there. ( Display settings, shows monitor 1 and 2 ).But the laptop screen is still black. Any thoughts? Is there a lid sensor or magnet that activates the screen? I can't find anything.

Hello, I am new here and I realy hope you can help me! I've have the Lenovo Thinkpad S440 (as in the description). It is the model with SSD, i5 U, Intel integrated graphics, 8GB Ram etc. The display which was build in was the HD+ matt model (1600x900 px) I've had some water in bag back pouring into the screen. I tried to fix it and after I disassembled the screen, I got all the water out of it but the backlight was not working anymore. So I ordered a new display. While I was looking for it, I came to the knwoledge, that you can take a replacement screen from the Lenovo Thinkpad T440s, at least considering that most 1600x900px displays seem to be the same for each of them. So I thought: okay, then I should be able to use the 1080p display for the t440s as well, since it also has a 30 pin eDP connector. So I ordered one and put it in my S440 and it fits perfektly. But now the display only gives a really dim short fliker while booting the machine and nothing is viewable, so the display stays completely black. Is there a possibility to fix it or can I only use the 1600x900 px displays on the s440? As I sayd the screen fits perfect and the 30 pin eDP connector also fits perfekt into the new display. If I use an external display via HDMI, the image is shown normal on this external screen. Also it seems that the new internal screen is not recognised, since in the intel graphics options I cannot chose it as the main screen, only if I go for dual screen it is an option. ... Read more

If I use an external display via HDMI, the image is shown normal on this external screen. Also it seems that the new internal screen is not recognised, since in the intel graphics options I cannot chose it as the main screen, only if I go for dual screen it is an option. ... Read more

Hello, i have some issues with the display of my Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 260. It shows some yellow spots on the display, especially in the lower corners. I have already contacted the Lenovo Support Team concerning warranty. But Lenovo claims, that my Laptop is no longer covered by the warranty, because i have removed the lamination sheet of the display and replaced it by another one. So now i want to exchange the display on my own. Is it possible to order a display without any further services, so that i can do the exchange of my display by my self? I haven´t found any website (including Lenovo) that offers the display seperately without any installation service. So i just want to have the spare part. I got the following Model:Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 260 with a Full HD DisplayType: 20FES00000 I would be grateful for any help.

Hi, Laptop: lenovo ThinkPad T460sOS : Windows 10 64-bit(Upgraded from windows 7) fully updatedDrivers/BIOS/Firmware : Fully updated with Lenovo VantageWarranty/Support : Yes The Laptop screen goes off randomly. The Laptop is definitely on and only the display is off. I need to do a hard power off (keep pressing the power button) to to swithc off and on to get the display again. after each power off, windows eventlog ( System) will show ->The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. Checked the system for any issues with Lenovo tools and all OK. Anybody facing this issue ? Any help is appreciated. The Latptop is with business support/warranty but I dont know what is cusing this issue or how to reproduce it if I log a case Catherine

Good afternoon all,

I'm trying to help a friend out with the above laptop. The issue he has is that when he powers it on, it loads all the way through to the desktop screen, but he's left with a black screen and cursor.

Everything else up to that point works, he gets the Windows 7 loading screen, when it has gone to the black screen - pressing ctrl, Alt and Delete brings up task manager etc, as it should do, but there's just nothing displayed for the desktop.

Can anyone give me any advice on what to look for? I'd have thought it would be a screen problem, but as I said everything else works normally.

Incidentally, booting into safe mode, it does the same thing. You get the white text in the 4 corners saying 'safe mode' and also the current build of windows text.

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, I bought a Lenovo ThinkPad P50 Signature Edition with a 4K matte display. Over time, I noticed that my display got laggier and laggier at full 4K resolution. If I lower my display resolution to 1920x1080, my display is fairly smooth. I'm not sure why my display isn't smooth at full resolution. I also noticed yesterday that my volume hotkey buttons above the full keypad don't work properly. My volume hot keys above my keyboard work fine, however. Is there any way to alleviate or fix these two issues?
