Intel Graphics Media Accelerator/Video Card Problem

Q: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator/Video Card Problem

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 running on Vista.
I seem to have broken my display when I was trying out the Intel GMA Driver's feature 'Flip 180' which supposedly flips the monitor's display. Instead it exhibited what would happen if you change your resolution to 640x480, with really large icons. I tried to restart the computer but when I checked in my display settings it says something like:

"The currently selected driver cannot be used. It was written for a previous version of Windows and is no longer compatible with this version.

The system has started using the default VGA driver."

And in my screen saver settings:
"The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or one that's compatible with Direct3D."

Aside from that, the computer works perfectly fine, but I don't want this to be a problem in the future. What happened here? Is there any way I could fix this?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A:Intel (R) Graphics Media Accelerator

Hello,Your graphics media accelerator driver may be incompatible with Windows 7. You can run Intel® Driver Update Utility. It will check your system for the compatible and latest driver.
The anti-virus program will also affect the installation. So, I recommend we disable the anti-virus before installing graphics media accelerator driver.
If the Intel® Driver Update Utility find no driver, let me know the model of your graphics card.

What is the difference between 945G & 945GM?

One is the desktop variant (945G) and one is the laptop/mobile variant (945GM), with the desktop variant being the one they are referring too in regards to the PCI-E x16 slot, and no you laptop doesn't have one.

And if it is integrated how could the graphics chip be upgraded?

Answered your own question,

I thought there was nothing Intel graphics could be upgraded to, card-wise.

There isn't. There are very few laptops available that have the possibility of upgrading the graphics card, and Intel based ones aren't them. Unfortunately if you want a better graphics card on your laptop, you're going to have to buy a laptop with a better graphics card.

what are the requirements for installing Display_Intel_VSW7_32_8.15.10.2057-2?

A:installing intel graphics media accelerator

I'm not 100% sure on this, I doubt anyone completely understands intel's labeling but intel.
Largely these are meant for GMA integrated graphics chips though. Based on the release information I would say the 9xx series specifically. It's really hard to say though based just on the release date and ID in the file name.

At the end of the day generally they will simply refuse to install if you don't have the supported hardware though.

When I first purchased my Dell Inspiron E1405 (WinXP SP3), I could right-click on the desktop and see options for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator. Those options are now gone. (The only display option is the standard "Properties".) The Intel website states that my laptop uses a Dell-modified driver. I attempted to install that driver (R1127232.EXE) from the Dell site only to get the following error message: "One or more files required for installation are either missing or corrupt. Setup will now exit." After reading about other alternatives, I used Intel's "work-around" and attempted to install its un-customized graphics accelerator (winxp_14324.zip), but got the same error.

Current driver info: "Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family Ver.no. 6.14.10.4814; Driver Date 3/30/07"

Without this graphics accelerator, 3D games won't work. Any help will be appreciated.

Hey,

I'm planning on putting a new graphics card in my Gateway GT5438, but I have a quick question. From what I've heard, the current graphics card, the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, is integrated into the system. Thus, I'm not sure if it can be removed. If it cannot be removed, is it simply a matter of installing a new graphics card and having it take over for the Intel GMA 950? Or is there a way to disable/remove the Intel GMA 950? Any info here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A:Solved: Replacing an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950.

Yes the intel Graphics is integrated into the motherboard which means you cannot remove it. however once you install a new video card it will automatically disable the onboard intel graphics so really there is nothing you need to do. However if for some reason it does not disable it, you simple go into the bios and disable it.

also make sure that your current PowerSupply is big/strong enough to handle the new video card as some of the higher end video cards require a good amount of power and if you have a cheaper powersupply it probably will die.

So if you need a new powersupply make sure you get a good quality one & don't go by watts only as it can be misleading. a 600Watt PSU from a non-name company will perform worse then a 500Watt PSU from a good company like Corsair.

I am wanting a new pc and i have found one. The main reason i want one is because i record HD footage of my xbox and my current pc makes it impossible to edit and work with,

Im not good with all this techincal stuff so ill copy n past some info see what you think

CPU: Intel® Pentium® Dual Core E5300 / 2x2.6Ghz
MBD: ASRock G31M-VS
RAM: 2GB DDR2

Audio, Video and Networking
Graphics
* Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3100
* Pixel Shader 2.0, DirectX 9.0
* Max. shared memory 384MB

Memory
2x 1Gb DDR2 667Mhz Strips

You think that these would allow me to edit and play around with HD footage at 1080i?

i can currently playback HD footage ok its just editing it, which is basically impossible as it is incredibly jerky.

i edit footage in Sony Vegas. Thankyou

A:Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 Supports HD?

We have not found the ASRock motherboard to be very reliable, nor have very good performance... spend $25 to $40 more, and get a Gigabyte, Intel, Asus, Biostar, EVGA, Elitegroup, MSI or other board known for reliability, and you might be happy a lot longer.
Some of the Gigabyte boards that are six months on the shelf at Directron, ZipZoomFly, Frys, PCMall, or New Egg are great boards that have had significant price reductions to clear storage space for the hot new models.

Drivers and driver updates for OEM computers (particularly laptops) should come from the OEM. The issue is that the OEM may have customized versions of the hardware that is not compatible with Intel supplied software. I suspect that is the problem here. Intel has published warnings about this.

Now, if your an owner of any Intel graphics card, you will probably already know that it fails badly. You might ask yourself, "is their anyway to make my card better?" Well, there is!

The mod's and tweaked out drivers I'm about to show you comes with no warranty. They have not been known to cause physical damage, as a matter of fact, nobody ever reported any hardware issues. But just to let you know, I'm not responsible if something were to happen.

If your still reading on, then good for you

First off, we talk drivers. The most popular OS's are Windows XP and Windows 7. At downloadcenter.intel.com, you can get your graphics drivers there (945 falls under 950GMA, as does 945GM, and maybe 945GME).

First off, obtain a zip package of the latest drivers for your 950GMA card. For me, I would obtain the .zip (not .exe) of the Mobile 945 (945GM) driver package for Windows 7 32-Bit. Afterwards, extract it somewhere in a folder.

Second, go into the Graphics folder and notice the .inf in there. This file will become your best friend. Keep note of the name of it (it differs on XP and Vista/7, and x86/x64)

This file can be edited with notepad, and it has, for the most part, Human readable text. Become familiar with it.

Now, remember how you wanted to run a game but it said it didn't detect Vertex Shaders 2.0 or Hardware TnL? This can be fixed on the 950GMA (only on Vista/7 though). You could also do a number of different things as well.

Now, as you go ... Read more

Honestly, Intel needs to offer better integrated cards. My laptop (may it RIP) had an Intel 4500MHD. I wanted to rip it out and shove in something better. Its actually the reason my laptops dead.

Hello All
I have a HP mini 210-1000 laptop that is currently running windows 7 with SP1 with no problems. According to the "Get Windows 10" program I cannot upgrade to windows 10 as the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 has a compatibility issue. Does anyone know if there are updated drivers? I have searched HP and Intel's website but could not find anything however I read on this forum where one person was able to install 10 on the HP with the atom processor and the Intel 3150 graphics without any issues.

Thanks in advance

A:Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 incompatible with 10

I as well have read that this graphics card should be incompatible with Windows 10. If there is someone, who got it running, you might ask him on how he did it. It would be great, if you could report back the results!

However, the latest drivers for that card only support Windows 7 32 Bit. There already are no drivers for Windows 8 and 8.1 and Intel confirmed that there also will not be any drivers for Windows 10. I assume that - at least out of the box - this card will not work under Windows 10.

A:Cannot Install Intel Graphics Media Accelerator driver.

Is the driver on the DVD for a 64bit system? And for what version of Windows? If it's 64bit and a Vista driver you'll first need to try and install it in compatibility mode Vista.
Right click on the setup.exe file>click the compatibility tab>check the box run in compatibility mode> select in the drop down menu Vista>at the bottom check the box run as administrator then try and run the setup.exe file.

If this doesn't work go to the manufacturers site and download the lastest 64bit version of your video driver,
Unpack it on your desktop>go to device manager>update driver software>browse>let me pick>have disk> browse to where the driver file is and try to install it that way.

Another way is to follow the same method above only when you get to browse to where the driver file is find the .inf file and click or double click it and see if it will install that way.

Your system specs are confusing you have listed in your post one board and in your system specs another. So are you trying to help install th driver ona a different system? Fabe

igdkmd32.sysis is a file of the INTEL GRAPHICS MEDIA ACCELERATOR 3600 SERIES, 8.14.8.1064 , driver on my laptop.

I've asked on other forums but as yet i've found no guidance, so any help much appreciated.

removing the old drivers prior to doing an update is of course the best way to go, though isn't required but problems could occur installing over the top of old drivers.

Hi PULKITGUPTA,
Does the system overheat? Are there any bluescreens / system crashes?
Download the video drivers from vendor site - http://intel.ly/1P8sLBO - uninstall the existing video drivers from device manager and control panel -> programs and features - restart the system and install the new video drivers - restart again and check.
Run the stress test through Support Assist - http://dell.to/1NEc1Y4
Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.
Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email) for case records.
Let us know if you have any other queries.

I have an brand new i3 processor, trying to use the onboard GPU (tomorrow I'm getting an xfx 5770 xxx) but everytime I boot with intel drivers installed it crashes saying:

Intel graphics accelerator for xp (r) stopped responding and has recovered

It does this 3/4 times then just hangs. Ive used drivers from intel, gigabyte, driver genius, windows and they all crash.

The chip and memory are overclocked, I bought the bundle from overclockers.co.uk (had many years good service from them) So could it be the overclock that is doing it?

I dont want to touch the clock speeds as it was set by them but I have to run safe mode or uninstall the intel drivers to get the bloody thing to stay booted.

When I installed windows 7 first, I remember the drivers working, but now it crashes everytime. It seems to crash all the time since I took out the 3450 which is now in another PC.

Anyone know anything about this?

Ok, I thought this was a driver issue.

Anyone had this concern before
Just put together a new machine and running 7 ulitmate x64
machine randomly hangs/freezes and after an undefined period starts again
i am getting a message

Display driver Intel graphics accelertor for windows 7 (R) stopped responding

any help on this one would be appreciated as its driving me crazy

A:Intel Graphics accelerator stopps responding

I always disable the software which comes along with the Display driver in msconfig>Startup and >Services (after hiding all MS Services) as it can be problematic and isn't needed unless you use special settings or overclock.

I have a HP 6730b that I keep getting the message (after the screen goes black for a few seconds) that "Display Driver Intel Graphics Acceleraor Device for Windows Vista stopped responding and has successfully recovered".  I bought the same computer for my niece, and she has the same problem. When I checked the HP site for this model computer, I can find no drifver mentioned with this name. Also, the fact that it says Windows Vista is odd as both computers run on Windows 7 professional.  Do I dare download the HP Intel HD Graphics with Turbo Boost Technology (International) driver that appears on the HP list for this computer and install it or will that just make matters worse? Both computers are rebuilt by Metro Business Systems. I have called them for advice, but have not yet heard back. Any ideas you have would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Bill

Here is the HP driver page for Windows 7 - 64 bit for your machine.  You should be fine downloading the Intel HD Graphics with Turbo Boost Technology (International) driver.  Normally if they are not the correct drivers they will not install.  If there is one thing I really like about HP is that they make it easy to get drivers for their equipment.

Would anyone happen to know if the onboard video should be disabled in the BIOS when installing a new graphics card in a PCIExp slot. If it is left enabled, the PC should find the new card and boot from it, correct?

A:Graphics card and onboard (Intel) Video

yes it should auto detect your setup...if it does not THEN you might need to enable/disable in bios

Hi, I just got a Dell Dimension 3000 computer that has integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2 and no AGP slot. I was thinking of buying a 128MB or 256MB Nvidia/ATI PCI video card to improve gaming performance.

My computer's specs are: P4 3.0Ghz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache and 256MB DDR PC3200 RAM.

Do you think I would get any tangible, noticeable improvements in video playback quality and gaming performance? Or will the slowness of PCI just negate any benefits of the better video card?

If there are noticeable benefits to upgrading, which should I choose, the 128MB or the 256MB?

Thanks, I'd appreciate any help you could give me!

i have a hp touchsmart 600 running windows 7 64bit

i only get this drver problem when doing one thing and thats when i play a game called maplestory..when ever i start this game up this problem happens and i have no idea how 2 fix it... i get a error message saying Intel graphics accelerator for xp (r) stopped responding and had recovered about every 3-9 minutes that i have maplestory running

A:Windows 7 - Intel graphics accelerator for xp (r) stopped responding

You checked with HP for an updated driver? Can't tell you which one to check as there are 40 different versions of the 600,

Product search results

and the one I selected at random has Nvidia graphics instead of Intel. Either that or depending on the specs of your 600, if it has one of the Intel i3 or i5 processors with the graphics integrated into the CPU and a separate Nvidia card like this one,

HP TouchSmart 600-1152 Desktop PC Product Specifications HP TouchSmart 600-1152 Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

If yours is anything like that one you will need both the Intel and Nvidia drivers installed.

Hi
I'm having this constant problem with my display. A couple of times a day, the screen blacks out for a second or so and then, when it comes back, a message appears saying that Intel Graphics Accelerator Driver for Windows Vista stopped responding and has now recovered. On top of it happening, my OS is not Vista (as you can see below).
It always happens while I am browsing the internet (I have read in many places about people having similar problems when they are playing games, but this is not my case).
Once it has recovered, I am usually unable to correctly browse through the webpage I was at before the crash. I have to close my browser (chrome) and start it again so that things work correctly.

Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks a lot

This may sound a stupid question but can these two clash??

After a fresh reinstall windows installed the Intel graphics accelerators then i installed my nvidia drivers for my Gforce 9400gt(not the best)
my monitor kept turning off on its own

Ive run dozens of tests and everything is reported as working properly
i uninstalled the intel drivers but the igfxsvc module was stilll running
even when i ended the process it would run again and it didnt appear in services
this is part of Intel and nothing to do with my nvidia drivers

I was wondering if a clash may of been causing the issue??
sorry if its a dumb question

Hi guys,

I am interested in buying an eMachines T5026 from Future Shop for $800 (CDN of course). Its pretty good: P4 3.06 GHz, 512 MB RAM, DVD+RW and a "Graphics Media Accelerator" , but I game alot and I was wondering what a Graphics Media Accelerator is (BTW its an Intel GMA 900). I know that it has 128 MB of video memory but I would like 256 MB card (nVidia FX 5700 LE). Is it a video card? or some sort of integrated thingy on the motherboard and how upgradable is it?

Thanks in advance,

I have a toshiba laptop that I'm upgrading to vista...when I run the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant it starts to install vista components. There's a total of 22. The first 2 installed fine, but the third, the Intel(R) Graphic Media Accelerator Driver for some reason fails to install. The pop up installer says that the installation was complete, but then a pop up comes up and says that it failed to install and restarts my computer. Is there anyway to skip the graphic media driver install so that I can have all the other components installed? This problem doesn't really affect the running of vista, but every time I start my computer the installation thing pops up, but I want vista to complete its installation, ya know? Ok, so if anybody can help, that'd be great!

A:Failed to install Intel(R) Graphic Media Accelerator Driver

Since it's a Toshiba package you are installing, rather than separate components yourself -- I'd contact Toshiba and ask them about it.

Unless the installation package gives you the ability to custom install, I don't know what answer can be given here.

You could do a system restore to revert to the pre install date, but then none of the updates would be installed.

You also might try disabling UAC and see if that's a factor. This can be done through the program "msconfig" > Tools and requires a reboot.

hi there,
i have a Integrated Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 950 graphics card built into my gigabyte 945gzm-s2 motherboard but i was wondering how much difference there is between the nvidia 8500gt and my on-board graphics. I have already got the 8500gt running in my computer but as you might already know this takes minimum 300watt psu usage and this is the issue i am recieving now. I am thinking of going back to my onboard graphics but i dont want to cause problems with youtube lagging or bbc iplayer, i wont be playing games on the computer e.g. gta but i will be playing online pool and i dont want these to lag. So please could you tell me if i should go back to my onboard or if there is a major difference between my on board and between nvidia 8500gt. By the way i think my onboard graphics memory is around 300mb and the nvidia 8500gt is 512mb but takes a lot of the psu. Please Help.!!!! REPLY ASAP.
