I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have found this BUG in Micrososft Word 2007, that I consider to be a SERIOUS ISSUE for Microsoft Office Suite.

If you copy an image from a website and paste in the Word file, the image pastes successfully the first time,
but as you go on & paste other images from the site,
the first image is repeated over and over again, in place of other images (which have the same dimensions).
All other text data remain same, the image titles remain same, but only the image is repeated over and over

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I would not advise pasting images in doc files like that,
I would use ms Paint to paste or save picture as
I would really recommend using the windows snipping tool to get the images that way no bugs are being transferred to the machine or programs,
Then use the Insert image option in word...
It's just a safer way to do an operation,

Hi all,

Super bizarre.

So I woke up this mornind to login into my PC and see that my profile pic is changed back to the previous one. I have not any changes myself.

skype is linked to microsoft account. (skype had my old picture)

other option is that someone logged into my outlook and chaged profile picture then it got synced...

I cannot find any information on why or how picture would revert. ( even more so on a specific date )

any ideas or leads ?

A:login profile picture revert back to previous picture

Hello newbiew, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Since you Microsoft account is synced by default, then it most likely automatically changed back after syncing.

If you wanted to have the same user account picture for all devices, then changing it for everything should help.

If you only wanted to change it on this PC, then you could turn off syncing for Appearance under "Personalization settings" using the tutorial below.

I have an HDMI cord running from my laptop to my desktop computer. I have the laptop outputting audio through the HDMI cord perfectly fine. However, my desktop will not relay the audio through the built-in speakers unless I have the HP Picture in Picture software open on the selected HDMI Input. I was wondering if there was a way I am able to bypass using the HP Picture in Picture software. It turns out that if I download a picture file to the photo app in 8.1, without putting it in a particular pre-existing folder, the file goes into the general area of the app displayed alongside several other non-related pictures. Okay, no problem. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to then move a single image file into one of the pre-existing folders I had created at an earlier time. If your suggestion is to open both the folder and the picture file side by side on the screen and then click and drag, I have no idea how to do that. Is there no way to right-click the image and find a way to select "move to", or something along those lines; or is there a pull-down menu that I can't find with the app open that contains a command to "move to"?
Any suggestions?
Thanks so much,
San Francisco

A:How to move a picture file on 8.1 to a picture folder...

Well, you have many options. What you are looking for is this:

Context Menu - Add Copy To Folder and Move To Folder - Windows 7 Help Forums

But you can just copy the pics and paste them into the folder you like.

The side by side is easy too. Just open the source folder and press WIN + Right arrow. Then open the target folder and press WIN + left arrow, Now you can drag and drop from one folder to the other.

A:Solved: Picture

The problem is that you are trying to use a thumbnail in an icon only
area. This does not work. The desktop will only display Icons. It
will not display thumbnails.

If you want to change the folder icon to something else then you have
to change the icon in the customize area. Changing the thumbnail
image does nothing to the icon on the desktop. However once you
change the thumbnail image and then go to the desktop folder in
Explorer and choose to view thumbnails then you would see your custom
folder there. But you would still only see an icon on the desktop.

It sounds like these are photo slideshow videos you are making in WMM? If so there's another free MS program to try called Microsoft Photo Story. Its a little more specifically aimed at making photo slideshows that you can then output as a video file and from there, make a CD or DVD.

This is certainly a new one to me. I'm trying to watch a few videos I downloaded. RealPlayer is playing the sound, but there's no picture! Could it have some to do with my settings? Or is this a new form of DRM? They are personal movies, not copyrighted stuff. So I doubt that's the problem. But you never know. Any ideas?

A:Solved: No picture

We can definately rule out the whole DRM thing. Because I just downloaded and watched the videos on my father's computer. And he has the same OS as me (Windows XP SP2). It's obviously my computer that's causing this. Incidentally, I'm also having trouble getting my AOL media player to play video. Again, it plays just fine on my father's computer. I've tried the obvious stuff (making firewall exceptions, changing preference settings within RealPlayer itself). What else can I check?

It seems to be mostly WM files that won't play the video (only sound). Please help me! This extremely frustrating for how much I've spent on this computer.

So I was wondering if someone could fix this photo, as its the only one I have.

Where is is located depends on how it was set to be wallpaper, and what version of Windows you are using.
Also what it is called depends on how it was set to be wallpaper in the first place, it may have been named "Internet Explorer Wallpaper" or some other helpful title.

Without even a minimum of information, we are guessing blindly.

What version of Windows?
How did you set as wallpaper?
Where was the original photo file located when you set it as wallpaper?

or try this:

Control Panel - Display - Desktop - select the current wallpaper - browse.

Now it should be showing you just where the wallpaper image file is (Windows version dependent for this to work however, so guessing)

When I started my system this morning, my monitor said there were no input signal and went on standby. The three fans are all running (gpu, cpu and power).

I'm not sure whether the disks are running. The first couple of times I started the pc I think they did, but since I have reset (by holding down the power button five seconds) quite a few times now I fear that it may have been too much for the machine because now I don't think they are running anymore.

Since I got no picture I'm not sure though if it is just held up in DOS-mode waiting for me to chose either normal windows opening or failsafe open.

Earlier on I tried to use my sleep button to see if there were any response... There were not.

So... short of bying a new pc altogether - how do I narrow down the hardware that perhaps causes the problem?

I need picture at least to get some information - even if its only in DOS-mode. Right now I have a Geforce card with that "new" plug thats a complete square. I am considering trying to get an old monitor with the old narrow at one end broad at the top plug, and using it on the motherboards onboard graphic output. But will this work? When you use a proper graphics card, does this switch off the output from the onboard graphic? Do you have to switch utput plug while inside the system software? Because then I'm really in trouble I can't of course navigate blindfolded like that.

A:Solved: No picture signal from pc!

Try going through these procedures first and then reply back:

A) did you check and make sure that the vga wire was connected firmly to the computer and the monitor on either sides

B) It could be your graphics card, if you have a spare graphic card lying around put it in your computer and check if your monitor displays any picture or not.

C) Make sure your graphic card is connected firmly to the motherboard.

D) try connecting your computer to another monitor because it could be the monitors fault.

I think I understand. Try this:

On your keyboard, click the Prt Scr, then open MsPaint, by clicking Start > click MSPaint > and when it opens, click paste. Your desktop screenshot should be there, now. Go to File in MSPaint and click Save As and then type the name of the screenshot and save to your Hard Drive ie. C:/My Documents/My Pictures and whatever folder you want it to be saved in. In the type of file, I usually save as a .gif or .jpg file type.

I recently uninstalled W7 on my computer that I was dual booting with Windows Media Edition. I went by the instructions and all went well except I still get this screen (Picture #1) ("select an earlier version of Windows") during boot up. It stays up for 30 seconds. I would like to eliminate this screen and go directly to the regular screen (picture #2).

There is no mention of W7 in the boot .ini and in the "Startup and recovery", Windows Media is listed as the default OS, and again, W7 is not listed.

My question: How do I elininate the screen in picture #1.

For some time I have used this site as the home page for my Opera browser http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html Now, for some reason, it does not work and I don't get any sort of error message.

I tested the URL in Firefox and got a 'Connection reset' response while, perversely, it opened without problems in my ISP's IE based browser!. I haven't knowingly changed any settings in Opera or Firefox nor, as far as I can remember, my Comodo firewall. Has anyone else had problems with this site recently?

I'm off to wade through my Hosts file in case Spybot or SpywareBlaster have somehow managed to place the URL in there, although I doubt it because, if it were, IE shouldn't work either.

Motherboard asus P5K with intel p35 /ICH9 chipset
Video card nvidia gefource 8800 gt
2nd video card ATI Radeon X600
OS windows XP Pro

I was given my father-in-laws computer and wanted to do a fresh install of XP to get rid of all the stuff he installed that I didn't want.

Everything was going fine until I installed net framework 2.0, which a message from the ATI card said I needed in order for the card to function properly. When framework was installed and the computer reboot everything when black after windows loaded. When I tried to reboot the computer everything stayed black. Not even the original Asus screen shows up.

My question is what can I do now? I'm happy to get rid of one of the video cards and do another clean install of windows if thats what I need to do. I don't have any important info on here yet. Thing is, I can't do that if I can see.

A:Solved: No picture, not even at startup, what can I do?

Not even the original Asus screen shows up.

OK, if you are not seeing the splash screen, you have a hardware problem not a windows problem or .NET problem. Windows is not even in the picture until after post completes.

Start with some basic troubleshooting;
1 Open the case and pull the pw connectors from ALL drives; both hd and optical
2 Reseat the pw atx and aux atx connectors on the board
3 Remove the ati card and use just the 8800
4 Clear cmos or as asus calls it RTC. Read your manual for detailed instructions regarding clearing RTC

Now pw ON and see if you get a display and if the board will post. If not, then you are going to have to swap parts with known good ones ie mb, ram, cpu, pw supply. If it does post, then shutdown and connect devices one at a time until you find the failed part.

A:(Solved) bad picture quality

Norton anti-virus has probably screwed your video card settings:
First thing to try is..

Right Click on Desktop, and choose properties.
Then choose the settings tab.
Check that your colour quality is set to 16 bit or 32 bit on the drop-down menu.

This is the most obvious solution, but if there are only 16 colours as an option your driver has been corrupted.
Then you would on the Settings window, go to advanced and then adapter.
From here you would click on properties and go to driver, click on update driver and point to the cd-rom holding the driver (specify full path).
Restart computer and that should be you operational.

I'm scanning picture for my parents and I've gotten to the point of scanning prints. I've been using a piece of cardboard (of which I measure to a fraction of an inch) to try to align the image in the scanner bed. It works to a point. But, there are images that are curled up and end up out of position once the cover is closed. Also, the prints were never properly align when they were made. I know of image programs that allow you to rotate the image so that it is properly aligned. But, I find them cumbersome in terms of precision (they didn't have grids or such that I could align with). Is there a program that you can have a grid to line up the picture with or even a way that you could place two points on the picture and the program automatically lines the picture up according to the two points?
